Vera E. Holste formerly of Des Plaines and Arlington Heights
A Mass of Christian Burial for Vera E. Holste (nee Baechle), 47, of Boca Raton, Fla., also formerly of Sunrise, Fla., will be held at 10 a. m. Tuesday, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Florida.
Born June 5, 1952, in Chicago, she died Thursday, June 24, 1999, in Miami, Fla.
Interment will be in Forest Hills Memorial Park, Palm City, Fla.
A 1970 Prospect High School graduate, Vera had lived in Des Plaines for five years before moving to Arlington Heights.
Mrs. Holste was a Florida resident for 26 years. Despite many years of illness, she was a volunteer at St. Thomas Aquinas High School and donated toys to Jack and Jill Nursery School.
A devoted and loving mother and wife, she is survived by her husband of 27 years, Dennis Holste Sr.; daughter, Elizabeth M. Holste and sons, Dennis H. Holste Jr. and Phillip R. Holste, all of Boca Raton; brothers, Ray (Carla) Baechle of Davie, Fla., Ron (Lucie) Baechle of Port St. Lucie, Fla., Russ (Laurie) Baechle of Silver Springs, Fla. and Randy (Sue) Baechle of Wellington, Fla.; and her dogs, Benji, Tyronne, Dickens and Sabrina.
Friends may visit with the family from 4 to 8 p. m. Monday, at T. M. Ralph Sawgrass/Weston Funeral Home, 371 NW 136th Ave., Sunrise.

James D. Joyner of Bolingbrook
Services for James D. Joyner, 56, will be held at 8 p. m. Monday,at Beidelman-Kunsch Funeral Home, 117 W. Van Buren, Naperville. The Rev. Paul Walker will officiate.
Born July 17, 1942, in Calhoun, Ga., he died Thursday, June 24, 1999, at Edward Hospital, Naperville. Interment will be private.
Mr. Joyner had moved to Bolingbrook in 1980 and had worked for the past nine years at Richard's Motor Service in Stickney. He was a member of New Life Lutheran Church in Bolingbrook and a Marine Corps veteran, having served from 1960 to 1964.
Surviving are his wife, Terry Joyner (nee Plinski) of Bolingbrook; mother, Mattie Partin (nee Swafford) of Lake in the Hills; sons, James Michael Joyner of Bolingbrook, and Jimmy Douglas Joyner, James Edward(LeLynette) Joyner and Richard (Sherri) Joyner, all of Tennessee; daughter, Dawn Marie Joyner of Carol Stream; brother, Jerry Joyner of Ohio; sister, Addie Williams of Lake in the Hills; mother-in-law, Elda Plinski of McHenry; and several grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, James A. Joyner.
Visitation will be from 4 p. m. until the time of services at 8 p. m. Monday, at the funeral home.

Arlene M. Knapp of Schaumburg
Services for Arlene M. Knapp (nee Mamach), 62, will begin with prayers at 9:30 a. m. Monday, at Michael's Funeral Home, 800 S. Roselle Road, Schaumburg, and continue with Mass at 10 a. m. at St. Hubert Church.
Born June 18, 1937, in Chicago, she died Thursday, June 24, 1999, at Alexian Brothers Medical Center, Elk Grove Village. Burial will be in St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine.
Mrs. Knapp had been a Rotary Partner and a member of the Des Plaines Ladies of the Elks #1526.
She was the beloved wife of Donald F. Knapp; loving mother of Vivian (Robert) Trampf, Donald E. (Mary) Knapp, Donna (Ross) Runyon, James Knapp, Mary (Andy) Lauk, David (Denise) Knapp and Barbara Knapp; and cherished grandmother of 17. She was also the dear sister of George (Sharon) Mamach and Dolores (Charles) Branscum; and dear friend of Sara.

George G. Kokinos of Des Plaines

Born Oct. 19, 1928, in Greece, he died Friday, June 25, 1999, at Hampton Plaza Nursing Home. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
He was the husband of Maria (nee Micha) of Des Plaines, and the late Christina Hotousiotis (nee Thanopoulos; father of Gus G. (Patty) Hotousiotis of Des Plaines and the late Nick (Trina) Hotousiotis of Des Plaines; and grandfather of four.

Joy Kutzler formerly of Waukegan
Services for Joy Kutzler (nee Dill), 64, of South Wilmington, Ill., will be held at 11 a. m. Monday, at Salata Gurnee Funeral Home, 4190 Old Grand Ave., Gurnee.
Born Dec. 25, 1934, in Joliet, she died Thursday, June 24, 1999, at Morris Community Hospital in Morris. Interment will be in Pineview Cemetery, Beach Park, Ill.
A Waukegan area resident for most of her life, she was an active member of the Waukegan Moose.
Survivors include her half sister, Geraldine (Richard) Winke of South Wilmington; brothers, Don Dill, James Dill and Bill Dill; sister, Lucille Dill; and many nieces and nephews, including August (Suzanne) Hibel, Mary Lou (Richard) Gust, Dawn (Vic) Huser, Donald Winke, Dennis (Carol) Winke and Deborah (Mike) Hayes; many grandnieces and nephews; and a great-grandniece and nephew.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob Kutzler, Sept. 12,1995; parents, Elmer and Vera Dill; and stepmother, Lucille Dill.

Jerome `Whitey' Lange of Park Ridge

Mr. Lange was a longtime supporter of Park Ridge Boys Baseball and former football and baseball coach at Mary, Seat of Wisdom Church. He retired after 44 years of employment at People's Energy.
He was the beloved husband of the late Grace (nee Doyle); dear father of Tom (Kathy), Mike (Kathy), Jerry Jr. (Jan), Jimbo (Jan), Pat and Mary Ann (Dan) Delvin; loving grandpa Whitey of Gracie, Corby, Janella, Jerry, Jimmy and P. J.; and fond brother of Fr. Matt, Dorothy, Ed, Dolores, Mark, Rose and the late Greg.

Dolores M. Lies of Carpentersville

Born April 21, 1924, in Chicago, the daughter of Walter and Agnes (nee Domeraski) Chielewski, she died Thursday, June 24, 1999, at Sherman Hospital in Elgin. Burial will be private.
Mrs. Lies was a 42-year resident of the Carpentersville area and a 42-year member of St. Monica Church, where she was very active. She had been an employee of Marriot Food Service and also worked at First Card in Elgin, as a cashier in the cafeteria.
Survivors include her husband, Arthur L. Lies, they married on Aug. 23, 1947; sons, David of Bartlett and Richard of Johnsburg, Ill.; daughters, Mary (Kenneth) Roth of Johnsburg and Nancy Glenn of Rockford; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and sister, Maryann Wysakawski of Syracuse, N. Y.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers; and one sister.

Helen P. Lundblad of Batavia
Memorial services for Helen P. Lundblad, 85, will be held at 2 p. m. Monday, July 5, at The Holmstad's Ahlstrand Chapel, Batavia.
Born Dec. 16, 1913, in Carthage, Ill., the daughter of William G. and Margaret (nee Lauf) Price, she passed away Tuesday, June 22, 1999, at the Michealsen Health Care Center in Batavia. Graveside services will he held at 10 a. m. Tuesday, July 6, at Mount Greenwood Cemetery, Chicago.
A resident of the Holmstad in Batavia, Mrs. Lundblad was a former school vice principal and teacher, prior to serving the Lord as a teacher in the mission field in Congo, Africa, along with her husband, Rev. Arthur M. Lundblad.
Survivors include her stepdaughter, Rev. Janet Lundblad; stepsons, David (Anna) Lundblad and Daniel (Joan) Lundblad; stepgrandchildren, Katarina, Kristina, Emily and Carl Lundblad; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Price; and sister, Margaret Stattman.

Scott A. Paez of Rolling Meadows
Services for Scott A. Paez, 44, will be held at 8 p. m. today, at Meadows Funeral Home, 3615 Kirchoff Road, Rolling Meadows.
Born Dec. 12, 1954, in Oak Park, he died Thursday,June 24, 1999, at the University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison, Wis.
Mr. Paez had been employed as a computer operator and was a former paramedic.
He was the beloved husband of Barbara M. Paez (nee Francione); loving father of John A., Shawn and Jessica Paez; cherished son of Alice and the late Raymond Paez; dear brother of Patti and the late Raymond (Marsha) Paez; and fond son-in-law of John and Geraldine Francione.
Visitation will be from 3 p. m. until the time of services at 8 p. m. today, at the funeral home.
James A. Pavlus of Libertyville
A memorial service for James A. Pavlus, formerly of Waukegan, will be held at 7 p. m. Monday, at St. Joseph's Church, 121 E. Maple Ave., Libertyville.
Mr. Pavlus, 52, is believed to have met with a fatal accident while hiking in California's Anza-Borrego Desert State Park in late April 1998. Despite search efforts during the past 14 months, his remains have never been found. The memorial service will bring closure for his family and friends, and honor his life.
A native of Syracuse, N. Y., he received his undergraduate degree in biology from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, and his masters degree in library science from Case Western Reserve University. He was a 25-year employee of Abbott Laboratories, having worked the majority of those years as a librarian.
Most recently he held the position of emerging technologies analyst.
Survivors include his wife, Suzanne; son, John, a senior at Ithaca College in Ithaca, N. Y.; daughter, Sarah, a junior a Washington University in St. Louis, Mo.; parents, John and Janet Pavlus of Brooksville, Fla.; and brothers, David (Wendy) of Skaneateles, N. Y. and Donald (Carol) of Liverpool, N. Y.
A service for family and friends in the Syracuse area will be held at the end of July.
