Ralph J. `Whitey' Whiteford of Algonquin
Memorial services have been held for Ralph J. `Whitey' Whiteford, age 79.
Born Jan. 30, 1920, in Chicago, the son of William and Lillian Lumpp Whiteford, he died Wednesday, June 23, 1999, at Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington. Burial will be private.
A Navy veteran of World War II,he had been employed as a house painter.
Survivors include his wife, Helen Herzig, whom he married on April 21, 1945; daughters, Chris (Jerry) Gulley and Terry (Jim) Schmidutz, both of Glenview; and granddaughters, Niki Gulley of Dallas, Texas and Laura Schmidutz of Germantown, Md.
He was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers; and one sister.

Irene E. Widemeyer of Lindenhurst
Private funeral services were held for Irene E. Widemeyer, 92, of Lindenhurst.
Born July 11, 1906, in Boston, Mich., she died Tuesday, June 22, 1999, at Winchester House in Libertyville.
A longtime resident of Lake County, Mrs. Widemeyer was a member of Christ Episcopal Church of Waukegan and the St. Catherine's Guild.
Survivors include her daughter, Joyce McDonough, five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur E. Widemeyer, and brother, Lawrence Bayles.

William Wisser formerly of Elgin
Services for William Wisser, 74, of Mountain Home, Ark., will be held at 11:30 a. m. Saturday, at Laird Funeral Home, 310 S. State St., Elgin. Dr. Robert Kasper will officiate.
Born March 1, 1925, in Chicago, to Emil and Emma (nee Eisenman) Wisser, he died Tuesday, June 22, 1999, in Mountain Home. Burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park.
Mr. Wisser had been a resident of Elgin for most of his life and had lived in Mountain Home since 1987. Prior to his retirement, he had been employed as a truck driver by Elgin Fruit and Produce.
A World War II veteran, he had served in the
Army Combat Engineers and participated in the Normandy Invasion and the Battle of the Bulge. He was a member of American Legion Post 57 of Elgin and VFW Post 3246 of Mountain Home.
Surviving are his wife, Mamie Lucille Wisser (nee Wilburn) of Mountain Home; daughters, Sylvia (Tim) Peshek of Elgin and Nancy (Dave) Hachtel of Colorado Springs, Colo.; sons, Richard (Becky) Wisser, Bruce (Lori) Wisser and Ronald (Debra) Wisser, all of Elgin; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, John Wisser.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p. m. today, at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to the American Diabetes. Association or to the American Cancer Society.
Deborah Lynn Adams of Skokie and Schaumburg
Services for Deborah Lynn Adams, 38, of Skokie, formerly of Schaumburg, will be held at 11 a. m. Tuesday, at Messiah Lutheran Church in Wauconda.
Born Nov. 4, 1960, in Chicago, she died Thursday, June 24, 1999, at Rush North Shore Medical Center, Skokie. Interment will be private.
She was the beloved daughter of John and Marilynn (nee Hohlfelder) Adams of Grayslake; dear sister of Christi (Mike Koehler) Adams of Palatine and Marcia (Dennis) Huffmon of Aurora; loving aunt of Blake; fond niece and cousin of many; and dear friend of the staff at Orchard Village.

Charlotte Rose Beres of Ingleside
A memorial service for Charlotte Rose Beres (nee Huber), 88, will be held at 11 a. m. Monday, at St. Bede Catholic Church in Ingleside.
Born Feb. 2, 1911, in Milwaukee, Wis., she passed away Thursday, June 24, 1999, at ManorCare in Libertyville. Interment will be held privately.
Mrs. Beres had been a resident of Ingleside since 1967 and was a member of the Fox Lake Lions Club and St. Bede Catholic Church in Ingleside.
She leaves her sons, August (Dorothy) Beres of Round Lake Beach and Ken F. Beres of Palatine; grandchildren, Theodore, Nicholas, Kathleen, Kenneth, Deborah and Michael; and great-grandchildren, Sarah, Tyler, Austin and Evan.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gus Beres.

Thomas I. Campbell of Beach Park

Mr. Campbell was a member of Annunciation of Our Lady Church. He was also a part of the Early Day Gas Engine and Tractor Association, and the American Association of Retired People. Mr. Campbell was a veteran, and was employed as a precision sheet metal fabricator.
He is survived by his mother, Evalyn H. Campbell; three children, Lorri Lynn (Ken) Tackett, Gloria J. (Dean) Bunnell and Edward Alan Sr. (Kathy) Campbell; grandchildren, Shawnah, Richard, Julie, Edward Jr. and Jacqueline; and nephew, Don Jr.

Phyllis S. Castle of Naperville

Born July 31, 1914, in Chicago,he died Friday, June 25, 1999, at Independence Village, Naperville. Interment will be private.
Mrs. Castle was raised in Chicago and graduated from Marshall High School.
She also studied for two years at the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana until the Great Depression forced her to come home. She was a 25-year resident of Bellwood and had lived in Naperville for 20 years, most recently at Independence Village. Prior to her retirement, she had been an accountant employed by the Federal Bryant Machinery Company in Chicago and Elmhurst. She was also a volunteerat the Naperville Senior Center.
Survivors include her daughter, Phyllis A. (Maris T.) Kalnins of Naperville; grandchildren, Kristine and Erika Kalnins; niece, Gwen (Raymond) Kallhauge of Geneva; great-niece, Susan Benner of West Chicago; great-nephew, Glen (Kathryn) Kallhauge of Geneva; great-great-nephews, Raymond Benner and Kyle Kallhauge; and sister-in-law, Lillian (Raymond) Sloves of Geneva.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E. Castle Jr., whom she married on Aug. 28, 1937, and who preceded her in 1977; parents, Michael and Anna (nee Lesser) Sloves;and brothers, Lester `Sonny' Sloves and Raymond Sloves.

Donald M. Cook formerly of St. Charles and Geneva
Services for Donald M. Cook, 91, of Knoxville, Tenn., will be held at 11 a. m. Monday, at Grace Lutheran Church of Lily Lake, 5 N 600 Hanson Road. The Rev. Winfield Johanson will officiate.
Born June 5, 1908, in Lost Nation, Iowa, to Melvin and Freda Cook, he passed away Thursday, June 24, 1999, at Fort Sanders Regional Hospital in Knoxville.
Burial will be in Lily Lake Cemetery.
Mr. Cook was employed for 40 years by Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company as a CLU insurance agent. He had attended the University of Illinois and Northwestern University. Don was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Knoxville.
Survivingare his wife of 61 years, Elsie Cook; daughters, Carol (Nicholas) Muller of Madison, Wis., Suzanne (Arthur) Cothran of Beaver Dam, Wis., and Shari (David) Grace of Knoxville; brother, Glidden Cook of Hemet, Calif.; sister, GladysNeise of Savanna, Ill.; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents andhis brother, Orville Cook.

Antoinette `Toni' Cucco
A funeral Mass for Antoinette `Toni' Cucco (nee DiMarco), 68, of Northbrook, will be held at 10 a. m. today, at Holy Family Medical Center Chapel, Des Plaines.
Born Oct. 9, 1930, in New York City, N. Y., she died Thursday, June 24, 1999, at Holy Family Medical Center. Interment will be in All Saints Cemetery.
Mrs. Cucco was First president of Holy Family Medical Center Woman's Board and chairperson of many charity events throughout the area. She loved to travel and go to the theater.
Survivors include her husband, Dr. Ulisse `Lee' Cucco of Northbrook; children, Carl D. (Dr. Marilyn Mitchell) of Barrington, Richard F. (Martha) of Lake Geneva, Wis., Michael J. (Lizbeth) of Northfield, Francis T. (Heidi) of Green Oaks, James P. Cucco of Northbrook and Antoinette M. (Dr. Thomas) Gleason of Glenview; mother, Teresa DiMarco of Staten Island, N. Y.; sisters, Camille (Vincent) DiTursi of New Jersey and Nicoletta (Philip) Catalano of Staten Island; and 11 grandchildren.
