Ione A. Winters of Crystal Lake
A funeral Mass for Ione A. Winters, 82, will be celebrated at 11 a. m. today, at St. Thomas Catholic Church in Crystal Lake.
The Rev. Aaron Brodeski will officiate.
Born May 19, 1917, in Woodstock, to Albert and Agnes (nee McFarland) Nieman, she died Thursday, June 17, 1999, at home. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Crystal Lake, following the services.
Mrs. Winters and her husband were the former owners of Winters Cab Company of Crystal Lake and she later worked as a receptionist at Crystal Pines Nursing Home.
Surviving are her sons, Edmund E. Winters of Crystal Lake, Robert (Anna) Winters of Crystal Lake and Charles W. (Betty) Winters of Rockford; daughters, Judy (Kenneth) Peters of Crystal Lake and Jeanie (Gary) Abrath of Crystal Lake; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Mary (James) Collins of Lakewood, and heraunt, Helen (George) Smith of Harvard.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Edmund B. Winters, whom she married May 22, 1937, in Woodstock, and who preceded her in 1983; and her brothers, Edward and Herbert Niemann and one brother in infancy.
Visitation will be from 10 a. m. until the time of the Mass today, at the church.
Memorials to the St. Thomas Church Building Fund or the Crystal Lake Fire Rescue Department would be appreciated.

Norman G. Witt of Hampshire
Services for Norman G. Witt, 71, will be held at 10 a. m. Tuesday, at Fredrick Funeral Home, 284 Park St., Hampshire.
Born June 13, 1928, in Plato Center, the son of Otto and Erma Witt, he died Saturday, June 19, 1999, at St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin. Burial will in Lakewood Memorial Park, Elgin.
Mr. Witt was a longtime dairy farmer in the Hampshire area and was certified as an organic farmer for 25 years. Following his retirement from dairy farming, he concentrated his efforts into organic gardening for which he was also certified. At many farm markets he sold the produce he raised and also educated gardeners and growers in organic gardening. He had been a member of the NFO (National Farmer's Organization).
Survivors include his wife, Violet (nee Schuelke) Witt, whom he married on Dec. 17, 1955, in Belvidere; children, Bonnie (Harold) Vanderhoof of Carpentersville, Linda Thorpe of Hampshire, Carol (Andrew) Diaz of Genoa, Judy Brown of Belvidere, Robert (Heather) Witt of Genoa, Sandra (Ronald) Williams of Streamwood and Mary (fiance, Antonio Delgado) Witt of Marengo; brother, Maurice (Martha) Witt of Yorkville; sister, Dolores Blackburn of Belvidere; and grandchildren, Mark, Donna, Malinda, Vanessa, Michael, Stephanie, Ashley, Courtney, Kyle, Wayne, Christopher, Jennifer, Brittaney, Augustine, Pilar, Antonio, Marcos, Julian and Nicolas.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Gordon Witt.

Forrest H. Worley of Schaumburg

Born Oct. 16, 1942, in Columbus, Ohio, he died Tuesday, June 15, 1999, at home.

A 23-year Schaumburg resident, Mr. Worley was a volunteer at `The Barn'/ Schaumburg Youth Center.
He was the husband for 32 years of Joy (nee Bailey); father of Jeff (Beth) of Elgin and Chris of Schaumburg; grandfather of Joshua, Jax and Andrea; son of the late Forrest Sr. and Mary; and brother of the late Polly (Charles) Hiser.
Visitation will be from 3 p. m. until the time of the services today, at the funeral home.

He was a 4th degree Knights of Columbus, Order of the Alahambra, former president of the St. Maria Goretti Men's Club and the St. Vincent DePaul Society.
He was the beloved husband of Aldine; loving father of Mary Anne (Dodd) Brown, Joyce (Art) Slaters, Marlene (late John) DeCaro, Dr. Margaret Brown (Jim Crosswhite), Donna, Gordon P. (Lora) and Gregory (Colleen) Brown; and grandfather of 12.

John F. Atkinson of Glen Ellyn

Born Jan. 16. 1936, in Chicago, he died Saturday, June 19, 1999, at Hines Veterans AdministrationHospital in Hines, Ill.

A resident of Glen Ellyn for 60 years, Mr. Atkinson had worked as a cab driver, a mechanic at Ken & Will's Service Station in Glen Ellyn, and as a maintenance man/mechanic at Hesterman's Bowl. He was a graduate of Marmion military Academy and a veteran of the Marine Corps. Mr. Atkinson was a member of St. Petronille Catholic Church, a 31-year member of the Glen Ellyn Volunteer Fire Company, and past president of the West Suburban Firemen's Association.
Surviving are his wife, Kitty Atkinson of Glen Ellyn; children, Barbara (Michael) Peplinski of Snellville, Ga., and Susan Atkinson of Glen Ellyn; stepchildren, Laura (Kevin) Learn of Crystal Lake and Gerald (Susan) Kennedy of Carol Stream; grandchildren, Michael Sam and Marin Sara; stepgrandchildren, Robert, Lisa, Devin, Frances, Steven, Danielle, Amanda, Jessica, David and Mark; greatstepgrandchildren, Lillian and Bruce Jr.; sisters, Marybeth (James) Knox of Boise, Idaho, and Cathy Gand of Calabasas, Calif.; and cousin,Patricia Rodomski of Chicago.

Ricardo Barrett of Elgin

Born Feb. 4, 1951, in Elgin, to Robert and Elliant (nee West) Barrett, he passed away Friday, June 18, 1999, at Sherman Hospital, Elgin. Interment will be private.
A lifelong resident of Elgin, Mr. Barrett was a member of Living Gospel Church of God in Christ and a former Elgin police officer. Most recently he was employed for Arthur Anderson Consulting. A veteran, Mr. Barrett had served in the
Army in Germany.
Survivors include his daughter, Rhiannon Barrett of Elgin; son, R. David Barrett of Arizona; grandson, Xavier Medina of Elgin; parents, Robert and Elliant Barrett; sisters, Jante Evon Cox of Wisconsin, Bobbie Graves of Elgin and Shawana Barrett of Chicago; and brothers, Mervin Barrett of Elgin and Chauncey Barrett of Chicago.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Terrie Barrett, and nephew, Shawn Barrett.

He worked for Komet of America for 10 years, as a C. N. C. machinist.
Survivors include his wife of 19 years, Donna; daughter, Lauren Ciezki; parents, Raymond and Barbara Ciezki; brothers, Michael (Renee) and Ted Ciezki; in-laws, Robert and Theresa Kula; and sister-in-law, Lori Majchrowicz.
