Funeral services for Josephine Hoffman will be held at 2 p. m. Tuesday, at Beth Shearim Mausoleum, Shalom Memorial Park, Rand Road and Route 53, Arlington Heights.
She was the beloved wife of the late Sam Hoffman; loving mother of Sue Berg; and cherished grandmother of Stacy K. and Marc G. Berg.

Earl E. Humbracht of Bartlett
Services for Earl E. Humbracht, 81, will be held at 11 a. m. Tuesday, at Countryside Funeral Home, 950 South Bartlett Road (at Stearns Road), Bartlett.
Born May 8, 1918, in Elgin, to Fred and Lydia (nee Schnadt) Humbracht, he passed away Saturday, June 19, 1999, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, Elgin. Interment will be in Lakewood Cemetery.
After the death of his father on Dec. 18, 1918, Earl's mothermarried Fred Heinberg in July 1921 and the family moved from Bartlett to Elmhurst. Earl graduated form York High School in 1936 and the family later returned to Bartlett in 1939. The first man in Bartlett to be drafted during World War II, Earl entered the
Army in June 1941, worked on the Alcan Highway, and later served in the European Theater of Operations from 1943 to 1946. After the war Earl and his wife, Lois, owned and operated Humbracht's Confectionary which was founded in May 1948 in Bartlett. He was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ in Bartlett and was also recently named a Bartlett Living Legend by the village.
Surviving are his sons, Gregory (Margaret) Humbracht of Lansing, Mich., and Jeffrey (Barbara) Humbracht of Bartlett; daughters, Holly Humbracht of Texas and Julie Kern of Genoa; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his half brother, Paul (Jan) Heinberg of Sun City West, Ariz.; stepsisters, Helen (John) Canning of Elgin and Dorothy Heinberg of Bartlett; aunt, Stella Schnadt of Wisconsin; uncle, Herbert Schnadt of Wisconsin; and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Fred Humbracht; mother, Lydia Heinberg; stepfather, Fred Heinberg; wife, Lois Humbracht (nee Levine), whom he married in 1943 and who preceded him in 1988; and grandson, Joseph Galvan, in 1997.
Visitation will be from 3to 9 p. m. today, at the funeral home.

Charles A. Jordan of Naperville
Services for Charles A. `Charlie' Jordan, 67, will be held at 10:30 a. m. Wednesday, at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 3 S 465 Briggs Ave., Warrenville.
Born Sept. 20, 1931, in Rantoul, Ill., he went to be with the Lord, Saturday, June 19, 1999, at his home. Interment will be in Wheatland Twp. Cemetery, Naperville.
Mr. Jordan was a member of the Illinois Water Quality Association and the national Water Quality Association, achieving a Level 4 rating as a certified water specialist. An
Army veteran, he served from 1952 to 1954 and was a trumpet player in the 129th
Army Band stationed at Fort Stewart, Ga. He had also attended Lake Forest College and the University of Illinois in Champaign. Mr. Jordan retired in 1988 after a 33-year career in the folding carton industry where he was regarded as an authority on mechanical packaging equipment. After his retirement, hefounded Marah Water Systems, Inc., a family-owned business providing water conditioning equipment and specializingin the treatment of problem well water. Charlie had a deep regard for his customers and business associates and considered many to be much like family.
Surviving are his wife of 42 years, Audrey Jordan (nee Borkenhagen); children, Thomas C. (Linda) Jordan of Gilette, Wyo., Timothy C. (Diane) Jordan of Plainfield and Gary C. (Tabitha) Jordan of Warrenville; grandchildren, Richard, David, Scott, Erin and Harris Jordan, and Andrea and William; sister, Margaret of North Carolina; and brother-in-law, Stephen Batura of Sun Lakes, Ariz.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Grant and Sarah (nee Burke) Jordan.

Stephen W. Kuhn formerly of Naperville
Services for Stephen W. Kuhn, 49, recently of Scottsdale, Ariz., will begin at 9 a. m. Tuesday, at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville, proceeding toSts. Peter and Paul Church, 26 N. Ellsworth St., Naperville, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 a. m.

Born Aug. 18, 1949, in Aurora, he died Thursday, June 17, 1999, at home. Interment will be in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Naperville.
Mr. Kuhn was a graduate of St. Procopius Academy, Class of 1967, and received his associate's degree from Spoon River College. He was an accomplished polo player and horseback riding instructor, having taught many children and adults in Naperville from 1965 to 1978. He was also involved in 4-H, worked with handicapped children, and taught students from the College of DuPage and Naperville Park District. From1965 to 1968, he judged horse shows for the Illinois Hunter/Jumper Association and was captain of a successful hunter/jumper show team, competing at horse shows in the northern Illinois area. Mr. Kuhn managed Fairlane Farms on Hobson Road in Naperville for his parents from 1965 to 1978, and Fairlane Farms at Wellington in West Palm Beach, Fla., from 1978 to 1992.
For the past six years, he had resided in Scottsdale and was involved with the Scottsdale Polo Club and other equestrian activities. He loved horses and playing polo, but he most enjoyed teaching others to appreciate what he loved.
Survivors include his parents, Walter and Shirley Kuhn of Naperville; brothers, Daniel Kuhn of Chicago, John (Elizabeth) Kuhn of Naperville and Richard (Mary) Kuhn of Naperville; sister, Catherine (William) Rupert of Peoria; and nieces and nephews, Brian and Claire Rupert, Andrew and Ian Kuhn, and Kaelin, Connor, Evan and McKenzie Kuhn.

Joseph T. Litka of Arlington Heights

Mr. Litka had been the owner of Crabtree Industrial Supply in Wheeling since Aug. 13, 1982. He was a member of the Industrial Distribution Association and coached Prospect Heights Little League Baseball from 1982 until 1988.
Survivors include his wife, Susan (nee Engelter), whom he married on July 29, 1967; daughter, Beth (Jim) Leonard of Mundelein and son, Joe W. of Chicago; mother, Evelyn Litka; and brother, Tom (Stephanie) Litka.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph B. Litka.
