Cora M. (Stewart) Robinson of Elgin
A memorial service for Cora M. (Stewart) Robinson, 74, will be held at 3 p.m. today, at Larkin Avenue Baptist Church, 1158 Larkin Ave., Elgin. Reverend Richard Sanders will officiate.
Born Aug. 17, 1924, in Prattville, Ala., the daughter of James and Cora Fisher O'Neal, she passed away Wednesday, June 16, 1999, at Heritage Manor. Burial will be private.
A member of Larkin Avenue Baptist Church, she moved tothe Chicago area in 1938, and to Elgin in 1974.
Survivors include her children, Robert C. Stewart of Chicago, JamesM. Stewart of Cookeville, Tenn. and Betty Stewart of Dolton, Ill.; grandchildren, Keyshia Stewart, Keynona Stewartand Brian Stewart Davis; and brothers and sisters, Ruben O'Neal, Daise Hutcherson, Murth Ann Willis, Margaret Lawrence, Edward L. O'Neal and Geraldine Hutcherson.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert H. Stewart, in 1974; second husband, Tressie R. Robinson, in 1994; and brothers and sisters, Willie Mae Thomas, Nathaniel O'Neal and Joshua O'Neal.

Elizabeth Roscher of Arlington Heights
Services for Elizabeth Roscher, 95, will be held at 10 a.m. today, at the Lutheran Home, 800 W. Oakton, Arlington Heights.
Born Oct. 4, 1903, in Niles Center, she died Monday, June 14, 1999, in Arlington Heights. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Skokie.
She was the wife of the late Philip; aunt of Gerald (Pat) Dorband, Ronald (Dorothea) Dorband and Raymond (Donna) Dithloff; and sister of the late Minnie, Marie and Elsie.
Visitation will be from 9 a. m, . until the time of the services today, at the Lutheran Home.

Mathew P. Scarlata of Elgin
A funeral Mass for Mathew P. Scarlata, 81, will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church. The Rev. Richard Russo will officiate.
Born Oct. 4, 1917, in Chicago, to Louis and Ann Scarlata, he died Thursday, June 17, 1999, at Provena St. Joseph Hospital, Elgin. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery.
A veteran, Mr. Scarlata had served in the
Army during World War II and was a member of the VFW of Dundee. He had been employed for more than 25 years with Custom Aluminum of South Elgin and prior to that had worked for the Brady Coat Factory of Elgin.
Surviving are his son, Paul (Teresa) Scarlata of South Elgin; brother, Sam Scarlata of Elgin; and sisters, Eltonna De Icato and Angeline George, both of Elgin.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Rose M. Castoro.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday, at O'Connor & Homeier Funeral Home, 364 Division St., Elgin.

Fred P. Strobl Sr. of Cary
The friends and family of Fred P. Strobl Sr., 85, of Cary, will meet at 10a.m. Monday, at Windridge Funeral Home, 104 High Road, Cary, for a memorial service at 11 a.m. Born Jan. 21, 1914, in Chicago, the son of Paul and Mary (nee Wolfinger) Strobl, he died Wednesday, June 16, 1999, at his home.
Fred married Helen Berger on May 6, 1939, in Chicago, and he recently celebrated their 60th anniversary by renewing his vows with her on May 6, 1999, at their home in Cary.
A former, longtime resident of Park Ridge, Mr. Strobl had been vice president of the Marsh Instruments Company in Skokie prior to his retirement. He was a former member of the Woodstock Elks, the Crystal Lake Seniors, and the Crystal Lake Bowling League, and was previously a volunteer at Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington.
Fred's life was characterized by his love of family and his great enjoyment at being able to repair things and to volunteer his services to others. He was always willing to lend a helping hand.
Surviving are his wife, Helen; son, Fred P. Strobl Jr. of Cary; daughter, Barbara (Charles) Merry of Appleton, Wis.; granddaughter, Kristin Merry of Madison, Wis.; and grandson, David Merry of Boulder, Colo.
He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant sister, Caroline.

Roger W. Toohey of Wheaton
A funeral Mass for Roger W. Toohey, 63, will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Tuesday, at St. Michael Church, West and Illinois Streets, Wheaton. (Please meet at church.) He died Friday, June 18, 1999, at his home. Interment will be in Assumption Cemetery.
Mr. Toohey had been a salesman with Revere Electric Supply Company for 40 years. A resident of Wheaton for 30 years, he was a member of the Wheaton Park District board for 10 years and president of the board from 1983 to 1985. During his tenure, Mr. Toohey negotiated the purchases ofArrowhead Golf Club, Lincoln Marsh and the land from the Rice Foundation where the Rice Pool and Community Center are located. He was also a member of the board of directors of the Illinois Association of Park Districts from 1982to 1987, and president of the board from 1985 to 1986.
He was the beloved husband of Mary Toohey (nee Doherty); loving father of Christopher (Amie), Elizabeth, Michael and Catherine; devoted grandfather of Jaryd and Brandon; and fond brother of Susan Toohey.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesday, at the funeral home.

Mr. Troyka enjoyed golfing and bowling and was an avid Cubs fan.
He was the husband of the late Jean (nee Murphy); father of Teri (Vince) Boland of Roselle, Vince (Ann) of South Carolina, Chris of Glendale Heights and Charles of Hanover Park; grandfather of Eric, Chris, Ritajean, David, Patrick, Justin and Melinda; and dear friend of Debbie Conner, Tom Kotek, Steve Swederski and Jim Edmonds.

Frieda Buss Wessel of Barrington

Born Oct. 17, 1903, in Waterloo, Illinois, she passed away Wednesday, June 16, 1999, at the Moorings of Arlington Heights. Burial will be in St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine.
She married Peter J. Wessel, who was general manager for Lane Bryant in Chicago and formerly St. Louis. They lived with their family in Kenilworth and Wilmette, where she was active in the Kenilworth Club and St. Joseph Catholic Church. She later moved to Palatine and then to Jewel Park in Barrington in 1968.
She was an active member of St. Anne Catholic Church, where she was a member of the Art and Craft Club. Mrs Wessel was well traveled and resided part time in Deerfield Beach, Fla.
Survivors include her children, Delores Criswell of Arlington Heights, Carolyn (David) Priest of Chicago and Frederick (Lois) Wessel of Cedarburg, Wis.; sister, Florence Haudrich of Columbia, Ill.; grandchildren, Christine Reeb, Richard Jr. and John Criswell, Andrea Porco, Peter Wessel, Heather, John, Sharon and Andrew Priest, and Jason and Erik Wessel; and great-grandchildren, Adam, Douglas and Gregory Reeb, Nicole and Erika Porco, Roxane Schneider, Sean Criswell, and Katherine and Collin Priest.
She was preceded in death by her husband, whom she marriedon June 18, 1925; and son, Warren Wessel, both in 1974.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the prayers Monday, at the funeral home.
