Services for Erna Finke (nee Reese), 83, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 111 W. Olive St., Arlington Heights.
Born April 22, 1916, in Palatine, she died Thursday, June 17, 1999, at Northwest Community Healthcare. Burial will be in Ridgewood Cemetery.
Mrs. Finke was joint owner of the Ace Hardware store on Northwest Hwy. in Arlington Heights, along with her sister, Lydia. She wasa very active member of St. Peter Lutheran Church.
She was the wife of the late Henry L.; mother of Lynn Finke of Arlington Heights; sister of the late Lydia Kolze; and daughter of the late William and Martha (nee Kehe).
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday, at Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd. (four blocks south of Palatine Rd.) , Arlington Heights.

Robert C. Gore formerly of Arlington Heights
Services for Robert C. Gore, 76, of Palatine will begin with prayers at 9:30 a.m. Monday, at Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road (four blocks south of Palatine Road), Arlington Heights, and continue with Mass at 10 a.m., at St. James Catholic Church, 831 N. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights.
Born March 4, 1923, in Chicago, he died Thursday, June 17, 1999, at Northwest Community Healthcare, Arlington Heights. Burial will be in St. Adalbert Cemetery, Niles.
Mr. Gore was a longtime employee of the Marriott Corporation and retired as a catering manager. He was an active member of St. James Catholic Church, where he was an usher, a member of the Retired Men's Club, a volunteer for PADS, and a participant in the St. James play productions. He also served as a Eucharistic minister for St. Alphonsus Church and volunteered for Catholic Charities and Meals on Wheels.
Surviving are his daughters, Barbara Poremba of Palatine, Juanita Sue `Nita' (Robert) O'Brien of Indianapolis, Ind., and Elizabeth Clarke of Palatine; grandchildren, Timothy (Pat) Poremba, Mary Lyn Poremba, Tracey (Aaron) Smith and Mary (Charles) Anderson; great-grandchildren, Jordan Anderson and Lillian Poremba; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen J. Gore (nee Schrambeck); sisters, Louise (John) Niemczyk and Eleanore (Frank) Bock; and brothers, Ted (Nell) Grzegorek, Ray (Vera) Gore, Ben (Betty) Gregorek and Stanley Gore.

A Naperville resident for more than 60 years, she was a longtime member of Community United Methodist Church and an avid bridge player.

Moya B. Howe of Lombard

Mrs. Howe grew up in Brooklyn, N. Y. and graduated from high school there.
She moved to Lombard in 1969 and was a member of Sacred Heart Church. An active homemaker, she was also formerly active in local politics in Lombard.
Surviving are her husband, Herbert H. `Red' Howe; son, Kenneth (Brenda) Howe of Downers Grove; daughters, Ellen Bair of Ham Lake, Minn., Elaine (Tom) Zager of Lyons and Eileen Howe of Lombard; grandchildren, Maggie and Basil; brothers, James (Roberta) Donnelly of New York and Joseph (Sue) Donnelly of Georgia; sister, Brigid (John) Lichota of New York; sister-in-law, Dorothy Donnelly of New York; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Michael and Brendan Donnelly.

A 20-year Hoffman Estates resident, he was a 1943 graduate of Lane Tech. He was a former vice president and creative director for Vogue-Wright Studios of Chicago. For thelast 10 years, Mr. Karmele volunteered his talents by teaching beginning and intermediate watercolor painting for the Schaumburg Park District. He was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church and former member of St. Hubert Catholic Church. He was a member of the Packard Club of Chicago and the Buick Club of America, and a World WarII
Army veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Fran; daughter, Linda (Rick) Saviano of Hoffman Estates; son, Gerald (Carol) Karmele of Thousand Oaks, Calif.; granddaughter, Tiffany Saviano of Hoffman Estates; sister, Geraldine (James) Murray; and brother, Nicholas (Marilyn) Karmele.

Joyce A. Kost of Naperville

Born Aug. 25, 1932, in Aurora, she died Wednesday, June 16, 1999, at Edward Hospital in Naperville, from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Inurnment will be in SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Naperville.
A Naperville resident since birth, she was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, also since birth. She was a graduate of SS. Peter and Paul Catholic School, class of 1945 and Naperville High School, class of 1949. She was employed by Chicago Burlington and Quincy Railroad in Chicago from 1949 to 1966, as a comptometer operator. Mrs.
Kost loved game shows, cards, cribbage, bowling cross-stitch and swimming.

Born June 17, 1899, in Des Plaines, he died Wednesday, June 16, 1999, at Alden Valley Nursing Center in Bloomingdale.

A retired laborer, Mr. Kranz was the son of the late Edward and Sophie (nee Meintzer); brother of the late Emil and Julius Kranz, Lillie Jahn, Coila Frohn, Mary Reeg, Louise Ehrhardt, Wilhelmina Ladendorf, Anna Schultz, Emma Poc and Martha Kanitsch; brother-in-law of Elsie Kranz and Joe Poc; and uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Born Aug. 18, 1949, in Aurora, he died Thursday, June 17, 1999, at home. Interment will be in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery, Naperville.
Mr. Kuhn was a graduate of St. Procopius Academy, Class of 1967, and received his associate's degree from Spoon River College. He was an accomplished polo player and horseback riding instructor, having taught many children and adults in Naperville from 1965 to 1978. He was also involved in 4-H, worked with handicapped children, and taught students from the College of DuPage and Naperville Park District. From 1965 to 1968, he judged horse shows for the Illinois Hunter/Jumper Association and was captain of a successful hunter/jumper show team, competing at horse shows in the northern Illinois area. Mr. Kuhn managed Fairlane Farms on Hobson Road in Naperville for his parents from 1965 to 1978, and Fairlane Farms at Wellington in West Palm Beach, Fla., from 1978 to 1992.
For the past six years, he had resided in Scottsdale and was involved with the Scottsdale Polo Club and other equestrian activities. He loved horses and playing polo, but he most enjoyed teaching others to appreciate what he loved.
Survivors include his parents, Walter and Shirley Kuhn of Naperville; brothers, Daniel Kuhn of Chicago, John (Elizabeth) Kuhn of Naperville and Richard (Mary) Kuhn of Naperville; sister, Catherine (William) Rupert of Peoria; and nieces and nephews, Brian and Claire Rupert, Andrew and Ian Kuhn, and Kaelin, Connor, Evan and McKenzie Kuhn.
