Mary Jane Linder of St. Charles
A memorial service for Mary Jane Linder, 83, will be held at 11 a. m. today, at the Congregational United Church of Christ, 40W451 Fox Mill Blvd. (at La Fox Road between Routes 64 and 38), St. Charles.
Born May 13, 1915, in St. Charles, to Frank M. and Mae Marvin Gaffney, she died Monday, Jan. 4, 1999, at home, following an extended illness. Interment will be private, in Union Cemetery, St. Charles.
A fifth generation resident of St. Charles, Mrs. Linder's great-greatgrandparents, Seth and Content Marvin, were early settlers of St. Charles, arriving in 1842. Mrs. Linder was a lifelong member of the Congregational United Church of Christ in St. Charles, a member of the St. Charles Women's Club, the Kane County Homemakers - St. Charles Unit, and the Telephone Pioneers of America, and a former member of the St. Charles Mothers Club. She retired from the Illinois Bell Telephone Company in 1972.
Survivors include her children, Marjorie (Leslie Jr. )Johnson and Michael Linder,both of St. Charles; granddaughters, Susan (Brett) Prigge and Kathleen (Brian) Wegley, both of St. Charles, and Pamela (Lloyd) Cross of Cortland, Ill.; grandson, Trey (Lisa) Johnson of Draper, Utah; 11 greatgrandchildren; and four cousins.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Glen M. Linder, to whom she was united in marriage on Feb. 1, 1947.
Memorials may be made to the Congregational United Church of Christ of St. Charles new church building fund, or to the Hospice of DuPage.

Rowan K. Lockwood of Crystal Lake
Services for Rowan K. Lockwood, 70, will be held at 11 a. m. Friday, at St. Paul's United Church of Christ, 485 W. Woodstock St., Crystal Lake. The Rev. Dave Strang will officiate.
Born Nov. 28, 1928, in Crystal Lake, to Louis and Clara (nee Heisler) Lockwood, he died Monday, Jan. 4, 1999, at Sherman Hospital, Elgin. Interment will be in McHenry County Memorial Park, Woodstock.
Mr. Lockwood was a 1948 graduate of Crystal Lake High School and went on to serve in the
Army.
Survivors include his wife, Loretta Lockwood (nee O'Keefe) of Crystal Lake, whom he married June 12, 1954; children, Keith Lockwood of Genoa, Wis., Kevin Lockwood of Wilmington, N. C., Patricia (Daniel) Dooley of Crystal Lake and Mary Cruz of Crystal Lake; grandchildren, Adam, Paul, Neil, Daniel and Caleigh Lockwood, Tiffany Cruz, and Sean and Ryan Dooley; brother, Merton (Eunice) Lockwood of Crystal Lake; and sister, Katheryn (Delro) Heffernan of Indianapolis, Ind.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

Margaret Mary `Maggie' Lutz
A memorial Mass for Margaret Mary `Maggie' Lutz (nee Hawk), will be held at 2p. m. Saturday, at St. Margaret Mary Church in Naperville.
Maggie was fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church, Thursday, Dec. 31, 1998. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery, St. Louis, Mo.
She was the dear mother of Brendan J. Lutz; dear daughter of Mary M. and the late James E. Hawk Jr.; dear sister of John T. Hawk, Bridget Hawk, Joseph P. Hawk, Anne H. Donovan, Elizabeth M. Hawk and the late J. Edward Hawk III; dear friend of Stuart S. Lutz; and aunt, niece, cousin and friend.

Lois J. Marcum of Wheaton
Funeral services for Lois J. Marcum will be held at 11 a. m. today, at Williams-Kampp Funeral Home, 430 E. Roosevelt Road (one block east of Naperville Road), Wheaton.
Born Oct. 14, 1927, in Ladonia, Texas, she died Tuesday, Jan. 5, 1999, at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield. Interment will be in Wheaton Cemetery.
Mrs. Marcum was raised in Parkin, Ark., and had lived in Wheaton for the past 40 years.
She is survived by her husband, Oscar; daughters, Virginia (Robert) Luedtke of West Chicago and Gloria (Greg) Colandrea of Lombard; grandchildren, Mark (Kris) Luedtke of Geneva, Margaret (Mike) Dillon of West Chicago, Miriam (Wayne) Rohac of Carol Stream, Virginia (Thomas) Page of Bolingbrook, Gregory Colandrea of Lombard and Gillian Colandrea of Lombard; greatgrandchildren, Gregory and Eric Page; brother, Jim (Mary) McIntyre of West Memphis, Ark.; and sister, Patsy (John) Otto of West Memphis, Ark.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Ina Mae McIntyre and two brothers, John Jr. and Jerry McIntyre.

Bernard J. McCudden of Mount Prospect
Bernard J. McCudden, born Oct. 29, 1904, departed into eternal life on Tuesday, Jan. 5, 1999, at Holy Family Health Center in Des Plaines.
He was the devoted husband of the late Rosaline (nee Harrington) for 45 years; beloved father of Margaret Ann (Richard) Scholl, Bernard Jr. (Patricia), Rose Mary (Randy) Greco and Patricia (Carl) Overhuls; proud grandfather of Kimberly, Jennifer, Maura, Sarah, Deanna,Becky, Joseph and Kevin; dear brother of Thomas of County Antrim, Northern Ireland and the late Mary Dooley, AliceMcCartan, Teresa O'Neill, Tillie, Eddie and Dan McCudden; and fond uncle, brother-in-law, teacher and friend to many.
He was very proud of his accomplishments as a bagpiper who played for more than 50 years, many of them with the Shannon Rovers Pipe Band, but his family always came first. He will be dearly missed.

William J. McDonough of Libertyville
Services for William J. McDonough, 76, formerly of Glenview, will be held at 2 p. m. Friday, at McMurrough Chapel, 101 Park Place, Libertyville.
Born May 8, 1922, inChicago, he died Saturday, Jan. 2, 1999, at Winchester House. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Skokie.
A retired policeman for the Village of Glenview, he was a life member of the Illinois Policeman's Association and served in the Coast Guard during World War II.
He was the father of Michael McDonough of Glenview; and brother of Betty Schaefer of Libertyville.

Charles B. `Chuck' Murphy of Barrington

A resident of Barrington since 1972, Mr. Murphy was employed as an investment banker, most recently as senior vice president with Chapdelaine & Company of Chicago. Formerly he had worked for Norwest, Continental Illinois National Bank and J. Barth. He was also a veteran, having served in the
Army Reserve.
Mr. Murphy was very devoted to his family, whom he loved and cared for very deeply. He is survived by his wife, Susan Murphy (nee Van Hagey) of Barrington; children, Kathleen (Scott) Jones of Bartlett, Colleen (Gunnar) Klish of Glenview, Daniel (Cynthia) Murphy of Chicago, and Kevin, Meghan and Patricia Murphy, all of Barrington; grandchildren, Kaitlin and Sean Jones and Charlie Murphy, who knew him as `PoPo,' and expected grandchildren William Murphy and Baby Klish; brother, William (Kathleen) Murphy; cousin, Mary Catherine Johnson; three nieces; and two nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Joseph and Irene Murphy.

Robert J. O'Shanna formerly of Park Ridge

Born March 30, 1929, in Chicago, he died Saturday, Dec. 26, 1998, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Hot Springs, Ark.

Mr. O'Shanna had been employed as the director of service forthe Stewart Warner Corporation for 30 years.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Kathleen O'Shanna; son, Dick (Debbie) O'Shanna of Niles; daughter, Denise (Bob) Harvey of Rolling Meadows; grandchildren, Ryan, Kaitlin, Kyle and Luke O'Shanna and Jonathan Harvey; and sister, Janie (Ken) Jenssen of Rolling Meadows.

Antoinette M. Peters of Waukegan
A Mass of Christian Burial for Antoinette M. Peters (nee Paulauskas), 90, will be celebrated at 10:30 a. m. Friday, at Holy Family West Church.
Born Nov. 6, 1908, in Waukegan, she died Tuesday, Jan. 5, 1999, at Provena St. Therese Medical Center. Interment will be in Ascension Cemetery, Libertyville, following Mass.
A lifelong resident of Waukegan, Mrs. Peters was a member of Holy Family West Church, formerly St. Bartholomew Church, the Senior Citizens Club, the Steelworkers Retirees Club and the Catholic Women's Club of Lake County.
Survivors include her son, Terry (Dorean) Peters of Gurnee; son-in-law, Dr. Bright Onoda of Chicago; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild, Jimi.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles L. `Clipo' Peters, in 1983; daughter, Theresa Onoda, in 1996; sister, Elizabeth Cepaitis; and brothers, Joseph and Anthony Paulauskas.
