Genevieve E. Stran of Batavia
Funeral services for Genevieve E. Stran, 93, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Batavia, where she will lie in state from 10 a.m. until the time of services. The Rev. Philip D. Lund will officiate.
Born Feb. 26, 1906, in Batavia, to John and Betsy (nee Anderson) Freedlund, she passed away Sunday, June 13, 1999, at Provena Mercy Center Hospital, Aurora.
Interment will be in River Hills Memorial Park, Batavia.
Genevieve was a life member of Bethany Lutheran Church in Batavia, where she never missed a single Sunday worship for more than 50 years. She was a former member of the church choir and a member of the Willing Workers Ladies Circle. In addition, she was a member of the Batavia Women's Club and the Batavia Mothers Club, and enjoyed home decorating, home canning, crocheting and knitting. She will be remembered for her devotion to herbeloved family and church.
Surviving are her daughter, Carmen (David) Anderson of Geneva; sons, Kenneth (Joyce) Stran of Geneva, Robert (Judy) Stran of Elburn and William (Melinda) Stran of Shorewood; grandchildren, Betsy (Ken) Garrison, Scott (Eileen) Anderson, Jeffrey (Beth) Stran, Timothy (Kelli) Stran, Susan (Donald) Schultze, Michael (Gay) Stran, James (Sharon) Stran, Catherine (Kirk) Anderson, Connie, Amy, Karen, Margaret and David Stran, and Jamesand Kaycee Leifheit; and 14 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, Harriett and Lenore Freedlund; and brother, Wallace (Eloise) Freedlund.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George L. Stran, whom she married Nov. 13, 1929, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Batavia; grandson, Gary Stran; daughterin-law, Carol Stran; three sisters; and four brothers.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, at Yurs-Peterson Funeral Home, 209 S. Batavia Ave., Batavia.

Ronald W. Teuber of McHenry
Services for Ronald W. Teuber, 65, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, McHenry. Rev. Roger Schneider will officiate.
Born Sept. 7, 1933, in Chicago, the son of Raymond and Adeline (nee Broadway) Teuber, he passed away Saturday, June 12, 1999, at St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Arlington Heights.
Formerly of Chicago, Mr. Teuber moved to McHenry in 1989. He was an electrician for more than 35 years and owned and operated Teuber Maintenance Company, as well as a limousine service. He was a member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife, Darlene E. (nee Glosniak) of McHenry, whom he married on June 20, 1953, at St. Andrew LutheranChurch in Chicago; daughter, Starla (Timothy) Smits of McHenry; sons, Lee (Kathryn) Teuber of Nederland, Colo. and Craig (Christine) Teuber of Schaumburg; grandchildren, Ronald, Jeffrey, Kerri, Kyle and Kaydie Teuber, and Jacob, Daniel and Rebecca Smits; and brothers, Steven (Nancy) Wright and Joseph (Joydell) Wright, both of Sacramento, Calif.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Janet (Robert) Hildreth.
Friends may visit from 4 to 9 p.m. today, and 9 to 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, at George R. Justen & Son Funeral Home, 3519 W. Elm St., McHenry.

James Ambert Crandall
Services for James Ambert Crandall, 91, will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday, at SaxTiedemann Funeral Home & Crematorium, 9568 Belmont Ave., Franklin Park.
Mr. Crandall passed away Tuesday, June 15, 1999, at Resurrection Hospital.
Cremation will be private.
A 69-year member of the Bensenville Masonic Lodge #1159 A. F. & A. M., he retired after many years of service from Commonwealth Edison.
He was the beloved husband of Nona (nee Gribbon); loving father of James (Joan) Crandall, Joyce (Bill) Doescher and Susan (Angelo) Bocchieri; grandfather of 11; great-grandfather of nine; dear brother of Esther Herbner, Margaret Dillon and the late Robert (Jennie) Crandall; and uncle of many.
Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until the time of the services Thursday, at the funeral home.
Shirley C. Annear formerly of Libertyville
Services for Shirley C. Annear, 76, will be held at 11 a.m. today, at St. Andrew's Lutheran Church, 10 S. Lake St., Mundelein.
Born Nov. 13, 1922, in Bessemer, Mich., she passed away Friday, June 11, 1999, at Southern Texas Methodist Hospital in San Antonio, Texas. Interment will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Libertyville.
She lived in Libertyville for 40 years, retiring to Hawthorn Lakes in Vernon Hills and San Antonio. She was a member of St. Andrew's Lutheran Church and retired from Anchor Coupling in Libertyville. She also had been employed at the First National Bank of Libertyville and Lake Forest Bank, and was active in various local arts and craft shows.
Surviving are her son, Thomas Annear Jr. of Round Lake; daughter, Ruth Suzanne (Billy, chief master sergeant USAF ret.) Hester of San Antonio; grandchildren, Brandie (George) Wentworth of Hampton, Va., Jamie Annear of Whitewater, Wis. and Thomas `Richie' Hester of San Antonio; great-grandchildren, Scott, Anthony and Bradley Wentworth; and sisters, Lois Guernsey of Burnsville, Minn. and Alfreda Griffioen of Schoolcraft, Mich.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas V. Annear on Dec. 16, 1993; parents, Alvin G. and Ruth (nee Douglas) Dahlgren; and brother, Douglas Dahlgren.

Steven D. Arazmus formerly of Addison
A memorial visitation for Steven D. Arazmus, of Chicago, will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, with a chapel service at 7:30 p.m., at Salerno's Rosedale Chapels, 450 W. Lake St. (3/4 mile west of Bloomingdale/Roselle Road), Roselle.
Mr. Arazmus was a photographer and the owner of PhotoChicago. He was a craftsman of auto restoration and a great admirer of Chicago architecture.
He was the loving sonof Donald and Joan Arazmus; dear brother of Ginny (Joseph) Meo, Brad Arazmus, Lisa (Steve) Tenut, and the late Larry Arazmus; and dear uncle of Christine and Joey.
Manuel P. Banakis of Elgin
Private memorial services are being planned for Manuel P. Banakis, 79, formerly of Carpentersville.
Born March 12, 1920, in Duluth, Minn., he died Monday, June 14, 1999, at ShermanWest Court in Elgin. Burial will be private.
A veteran, Mr. Banakis had served in the
Army Artillery in the South Pacific during World War II.
Surviving are his wife, Ruth Banakis (nee Riss); daughters, Christa Kennedy of Elgin, Catherine (Paul) Rathjen of Whitefish Bay, Wis., and Susan (Scott) Prinke of Elgin; and grandchildren, David and Sara Kennedy, Peter Rathjen, and Michael and Amanda Prinke.

Melvin C. Becker of Palatine
Services for Melvin C. Becker, 81, will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, at Ahlgrim & Sons Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Hwy., Palatine.
Born April 4, 1918, in Sherburn, Minn., he died Sunday, June 13, 1999, at home.
Interment will be in Randhill Park Cemetery, Palatine.
Mr. Becker had beena resident of Palatine since 1950. Prior to his retirement, he had worked for Langer Printing of Palatine. He had also worked for several years for Palatine Savings and Loan and before that he worked for 20 years as a Toro lawn mower repairman for George A. Davis, Inc.
He was a member of the Palatine American Legion Post #690, Sons of the American Legion Squadron #690 of Palatine, VFW Post #981 of Arlington Heights and AMVETS of Wheeling Phillip Carpenter Post 66. Mr. Becker served as a volunteer fireman in Wheeling. After moving to Palatine, he served for many years with the Palatine Fire Department prior to the establishment of the full time Palatine Fire Department.
Survivors include his wife, Mabel Becker (nee Toppel) of Palatine; son, Dennis M. Becker of Palatine; daughter, Mary Becker ofTucson, Ariz.; and grandchildren, Dennis R. Becker, and Joe and Stacey Roman.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Agnes Becker.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home.

Born Jan. 2, 1924, in Roselle, the daughter of William and Mary (nee Fessler) Schmuggerow, she died Tuesday, June 15, 1999, at her daughter's home in Genoa. Burial will be in River Hills Memorial Park Cemetery, Batavia.
Mrs. Bunte and her husband were members of the Kane Kounty Kar Klub.
Survivors include her daughter, Gina (Warren) Kelm of Genoa; brothers, Harlan (Peggy) Schmuggerowof West Chicago, Raymond (Viola) Schmuggerow of Garden Prairie, Ill., William (Rose) Schmuggerow of St. Charles and Ralph (Sally) Schmuggerow of Warrenville; sister, Gloria (Jesse) Ellison of Brazil, Ind.; grandchildren, Alex andLucas Kelm; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond W. Bunte, in 1988; and sisters, Genevieve Humbracht and Isabelle Pothin.

Robert F. Collins of Barrington
Services and interment for Robert F. Collins, 78, will be private.
Born Oct. 10, 1920, in Chicago, Mr. Collins passed away Friday, June 11, 1999, at Good Shepherd Hospital.
A medical researcher for Kendall Research Company, formerly in Barrington, he retired after 20 years. While working at Kendall Research, he was involved with hospital and medical equipment. Mr. Collins is credited for 29 American and five international patents on disposable hospital and physician products.
Mr. Collins was a B24 pilot in World War IIwith numerous medals, awards and decorations for his efforts. He also served in numerous theaters throughout the war. He was honorably discharged in 1945. He was a member of the Barrington V. F. W. and a charter member of the Stonehenge Country Club in Barrington Hills.
Survivors include his wife, Evangeline M. Collins; children, Robert F. Collins Jr. of Barrington, Penelope Collins of Scottsdale, Ariz. and Allan (Marianne) Collins of Stoughton, Wis.; grandchildren, Erika DeJean, and Bo and Sasha Collins; great-grandchildren, David Pollack, and Ryan and Chase DeJean; andsister, Marilyn Collins of Barrington.

Ivol M. Corwin formerly of Arlington Heights
Ivol M. Corwin, 76, of Whiting, N. J., passed away Tuesday, June 15, 1999, at home.
Born in Greensburg, Mo., Mr. Corwin had lived in Arlington Heights before moving to Whiting after his retirement in 1989. He had been employed by the Graphic Products Corporation of Wheeling in the graphic arts department for 20 years. A veteran, Mr. Corwin had served in the
Army during World War II.
He was also a member of Crestwood Evangelical Congregational Church in Whiting, where he had served as a trustee and board member.
Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Charlotte Corwin (nee Ameye); daughters, Laura Lee Mazurek of Tucson, Ariz., Vicki Jean Drew of North Hampton, Mass., and Kimberly Rosen of Rolling Meadows; brothers, Dorsey Corwin of Gardina, Calif., and Dale Corwin of Redondo Beach, Calif.; sisters, Neoma Hamm of Fort Madison, Iowa, Oda Crank of Walcott, Iowa, Betty Anderson of Thousand Oaks, Calif., Coral Smith of California and Mona Faye of England; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
