Steven George Markowski of Naperville
A memorial service for Steven George Markowski, 39, will be held at 7 p.m. Friday, June 4, at Calvary Church, 9S200 State Route 59, Naperville. Rev. Lou Diaz, Rev. Ron Markese and Wanda Burgund will officiate.
Born Nov. 4, 1959, in New Brunswick, N. J., he died Friday, May 14, 1999, at home. Interment will be private.
Mr. Markowski was born and raised in New Jersey and graduated from Trenton State College in Trenton, N. J. with a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering. Mr. Markowski worked in the sales field for several companies such as Union Carbide Corporation in Oak Brook, Fina Oil and Chemical Company in Chicago and AT Polymers and Films, Inc. in Naperville, as an account manager. While at Union Carbide, Mr. Markowski was granted a U. S. Patent. He most recently worked as a self-employed handy man and volunteered at Calvary Church Food and Clothing Pantry in Naperville. A devoted volunteer, he went on nine missions construction trips for Calvary Church and Habitat for Humanity over the last five years. He attended Calvary Church and Wheaton Evangelical Free Church.
Survivors include his wife, Diane Kay DeGraff Markowski of Naperville; father, John S. Markowski of South River, N. J.; mother, Beverly Markowski of Austin, Texas; sister, Jean Markowski of Austin; brothers, John G. Markowski of Tucson, Ariz. and Paul Markowski of Costa Mesa, Calif.; in-laws, Robert and Carolyn DeGraff of Naperville; brothers-in-law, Karl (Naomi) DeGraff of Broken Arrow, Okla., Steven (Heather) DeGraff of Naperville and Thomas DeGraff of Naperville; and nieces, Nancy and Christina DeGraff of Broken Arrow, and Abigail and Julia DeGraff of Naperville.

Michael Perez 21/2 year resident of Wheaton
Mass for Michael Perez, 36, will be celebrated at 11 a.m. today, at Our Lady of Angels Chapel, 26 W 105 Roosevelt Road, Wheaton.
Mr. Perez died Monday, May 17, 1999, at his home. Interment will be private.
He is survived by his brothers and sisters, Jesse (Lydia) Perez, Sylvia (Jose) Ortiz, Gloria (Sam) Villalobos, Maria (Noe) Tentory, Juana Martinez and Frank Perez; many nieces and nephews; and good friends, Jon Winkle and Pamela Locke.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesus and Maria Perez; two brothers; and one sister.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass at the church.

George L. Perucco of Elgin
A memorial Mass for George L. Perucco, 72, will be celebrated at 2 p.m. Saturday, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church. Fr. Richard Russo will officiate.
Born June 20, 1926, in Iron Mountain, Mich., to Angelo and Virginia Perucco, he died Wednesday, May 12, 1999, at his home, in the company of his loving family.
Mr. Perucco had graduated cum laude from Walton School of Commerce in 1950 with a bachelor's degree in accounting.
Prior to his affiliation with Home Federal, he was employed as staff executive in the accounting division of the United States Savings and Loan League in Chicago, and was controller for Empire Federal Savings and Loan Association in Milwaukee, Wis., and National Cash Register. He joined Home Federal Savings of Elgin in 1961 and in May 1962 was named president. As the longest-serving president in the savings and loan's history, he was fundamental in its astounding growth from an organization with assets of $23 million to a $370 million publicly traded company. During his 37-year tenure he was instrumental in the expansion of the Elgin-based mutual thrift to a branch network which, at its peak, included 10 offices and was the largest savings and loan in northern Illinois. He retired as president in December 1998, but continued working with the organization in a consulting capacity.
George added much to the development of Elgin and the surrounding communities. He was past president of the Central Elgin Corporation; past president and vice president of the Fox Valley Mental Health Center; past secretary and chairman of the Provena St. Joseph Hospital Advisory Board; past president and member of the Illinois Savings and Loan League; past chairman of the Elgin Economic Development Commission; past president and member of the Elgin Area Chamber of Commerce; past member of the YWCA Advisory Committee; past co-chairman of the Capital Campaign for the YWCA; past member of the YMCA Sustaining Membership Committee; past president, honorary chairman, division chairman and campaign chairman of the United Way of Elgin; past chairman of the City of Elgin Capital Budget Committee; past president of the Jayne Shover Easter Seal Society of Elgin, the Easter Seal Association of Northern Kane County, and the Easter Seal Society of Illinois; past president of the Elgin Exchange Club; and past president of the Fox Valley Savings & Loan Council. He was honored as the Easter Seal Man of the Year in 1975, the United Way Citizen of the Year in 1981 and the United Way Volunteer of the Year in 1982, and received the Cosmopolitan Distinguished Service Award in 1986 and the Willis A. Allen Harris Peterson of Elgin since 1969
A memorial service for Allen Harris Peterson, 53, will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, at Laird Funeral Home, 310 S. State St., Elgin, with the Rev. Christine Stiger officiating.
Born Jan. 21, 1946, in Watertown, S. D., he passed away Monday, May 17, 1999, at Provena St. Joseph Hospital. Private burial will be in Bluff City Cemetery.
Mr. Peterson had been employed by School District U-46 for 29years. He was a social studies teacher at Canton Middle School in Streamwood and, most recently, at Eastview Middle School in Bartlett. He was an avid reader and loved to share his knowledge of the world with his students and colleagues. He was a veteran of the Air Force, having served in the Vietname War, and a member of American Legion Post #57 and Elgin Moose Lodge #799.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara, whom he married June 9, 1969; father, Clarence (Joyce) Peterson of Fort Collins, Colo. and mother, Martha (John) Cooper of Wilmette; brother, Carl A. Peterson of Chicago; four sisters, Janis A. Gouveia of Glenview, Marcia J. Cooper of Glendale Heights, Debbie (Dennis) Schneider of Fort Collins and Susan (Matt) Knifong of St. Charles; four nieces; and five nephews.

Elma Peterson of Elgin

Born Sept. 12, 1902, in North Plato, Ill., to Fred and Minnie Matthies Stege, she died Tuesday, May 18, 1999, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home in Elgin.
A homemaker, Ms. Peterson is survived by several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.

Donald M. Price of Lincolnshire for 40 years
Funeral services for Donald M. Price, 80, formerlyof Mundelein, will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, at Oehler Funeral Home, 555 Lee St., Des Plaines.
Born Sept. 6, 1918, in Iowa City, Iowa, he died Monday, May 17, 1999, in Hinsdale. Burial will be in Ridgewood Cemetery.
For 42 years, Mr. Price was a manager and food buyer for Jewel Foods in Melrose Park. He was veteran, having served from 1941 to 1946 in the Honor Guard under General McArthur. He was aboard the USS Missouri during the surrender of Japan.
Mr. Price was past president of the Chicago Bull Dog Club and the Bull Dog Club of America.
He is survived by his wife, Zelda M. (nee Hanner); brother, Morton R. (Marian) Price of Des Plaines; sister, Virginia (Milton) Watson of Plant City, Fla.; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and -nephews; and one great-great-nephew.

Mr. Ray was a retired operating engineer for the Zenith Corporation.
He was the beloved husband of Angeline and the late Ruth; loving father of Anna Marie (fiance, Thomas Johnson) Rehberger of Schaumburg, Marion F. (Peter) Kusenko of Crystal Lake, Jo Ann (William) Fuller of Algonquin, Sandra (George) Christopherson of Arlington Heights and Jean (Jim) Piette of California;cherished grandfather of 14; and great-grandfather of eight. He was also the dear brother of five sisters and four late brothers; and fond uncle of many nieces and nephews.
