Robert B. `Bob' Conklin of Plainfield
A memorial service for Robert B. `Bob' Conklin, 64, formerly of Naperville, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 22, at OvermanJones Funeral Home, 309 S. Joliet Rd., Plainfield.
Born Feb. 27, 1935, in Los Angeles, Calif., he died Wednesday, May 12, 1999, at the Hines V. A. Medical Center in Hines. Interment will be private.
Mr. Conklin was born in Los Angeles and moved to LaGrange at a young age.
He attended LaGrange Township High School and enlisted in the Marines during the
Korean War. He was a member of the military police stationed in Hawaii.
Mr. Conklin owned and operated Conklin Transportation in Naperville in the trucking business. Mr. Conklin lived in Naperville from 1979 until moving to Plainfield in 1998.
Survivors include his wife of 19 years, Madaline M. (nee Presa) Conklin of Plainfield, whom he married on Oct. 5, 1979; stepsons, Mark (B. J. ) Metzger of Aurora and Jeff (Marta) Metzger of Sandwich; grandchildren, Michele Metzger of Aurora, Amy Metzger of Aurora, Mark Metzger Jr. of Sandwich and Jeffrey Metzger of Sandwich; sister, Roberta Jean Stone of Sarasota, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jean; mother, Ethel; stepfather, William Moon; and infant son, Billy.
A memorial visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the services Saturday, at the funeral home.

Ralph W. Eilers of Palatine
Memorial services for Ralph W. Eilers, 69, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 22, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 200 N. Plum Grove Rd., Palatine.
Born Aug. 3, 1929, in Hinsdale, hedied Tuesday, May 11, 1999, at home. Interment will be private.
Since 1968, Mr. Eilers had been a resident of Palatine, and an elder and very active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church of Palatine.
Survivors include his wife, Marijean A. Eilers of Palatine; stepchildren, Richard J. Bacon of New York and Carol B. Kelso of Georgia; stepgrandchildren, Jared, Rachel and Anna Kelso of Georgia; mother, Irene Eilers (nee Kolb) of Arlington Heights; and brother, Mark Eilers of Arizona.
A memorial visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the services Saturday, May 22, at the church.

She was the beloved wife of 44 years of Frank A.; loving mother of Frank M. (Nancy); proud grandmother of Erin, Sarah and Frank M. Jr.; dearest sister of Robert (Joyce) O'Donnell, Richard O'Donnell and Sr. Diane O'Donnell B. V. M.; and dear sister-in-law of James (Laura May) Frasco, Raymond (Dorothy) Frasco and Richard (Carol) Frasco. She will be dearly missed by many nieces and nephews and wonderful friends.
She was preceded in death by her cherished parents, James and Catherine O'Donnell; dearest brother, James (Ann) O'Donnell and dearest sister, Joan (Edwin) Schmitt; in-laws, Sam and Rose Frasco; dear brother-in-law, Robert (Wilma) Frasco; and sisters-in-law, Eileen O'Donnell and Pat Frasco.

Sidney B. Goldin of Buffalo Grove
Services for Sidney B. Goldin, 73, will be held at 11 a.m. today, at Congregation Beth Judea, Hilltop Rd. and Route 83, Long Grove.
Mr. Goldin passed away Wednesday, May 12, 1999, at Northwest Community Healthcare, Arlington Heights. Interment will be in Shalom Memorial Park, Arlington Heights.
He was the beloved husband of 48 years of Janice (nee Lewis); loving father of Marc (Deana) Goldin, Dr. Lynn R. (Henry Birnkrant) Goldin and Sandra (Tom) Steinbrecher; adored grandfather of Alex Goldin, Aviva and Beth Birnkrant, and Aaron and Otto Steinbrecher; and dear brother-in-law of Robert H. (Emily) Lewis.

William V. A. Hansen of Hawthorn Woods for 12 years
Services for William V. A. Hansen, 88, formerly of Barrington, will be held at a later date in Rhode Island.
Born Sept. 11, 1910, in Ridgefield, Conn., he diedWednesday, May 12, 1999, at his home. Interment will be in Rhode Island.
Mr. Hansen was employed by Central Standard Life Insurance Company prior to retiring. He graduated from Harvard University in 1934. A World War II veteran, he served in Panama during World War II, attaining the rank of major. He enjoyed playing chess.
He was the husband ofthe late Georgiana (nee MacArthur), they were married for 47 years when she passed away in 1994; father of Robert (Carolyn) Gardner of Barrington, David (Caren) Gardner of Crystal Lake, Nancy Hansen of Providence, R. I., Georgiana(Stephen) Hoffmann of Carbondale and Martha (Paul) Lahti of Crystal Lake; grandfather of 17; and great-grandfatherof 16.

Robert W. Harth of Arlington Heights
Services for Robert W. Harth, 75, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 111 W. Olive St., Arlington Heights. He will lie in state from 9 a.m. untilthe time of the services.
Born May 11, 1924, in Long Grove, he died Tuesday, May 11, 1999, at Northwest CommunityHealthcare Center. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Harth was employed by the Village of Arlington Heights, where he worked in the water department. He retired in 1985 after 33 years of service. He served in the
Army, 71st infantry division, during World War II. He was a member of Arlington Heights VFW Post 981.
Survivors include his wife of more than 50 years, Leona (nee Kirchoff), whom he married June 19, 1948; children, Debra (Donald) Klipowicz of Rolling Meadows, Nancy (Donald) Hull of Arlington Heights, Robert (Denise) Harth of Roswell, Ga. and Douglas (Anne) Harth of Lake Zurich; grandchildren, Christopher, Colleen, Scott, Amy, Andy, Meg, Adam and Julie; sister, Joyce Pinkley; and brothers, Allen (Shirlee) and Ronald.

Bernard J. Jacobsen formerly of Lombard
Memorial services for Bernard J. Jacobsen, 87, of Chicago, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, at Oehler Funeral Home, 555 Lee St., Des Plaines.
Born Jan. 16, 1912, in Chicago, he died Sunday, May 9, 1999, at Lakeview Nursing Home in Chicago.
Mr. Jacobsen had worked as a salesman for Pargon Spring Company for 40 years prior to retiring. He was a member of the Des Plaines Elks Club, Spring Manufacturers Association and the Chicago Association of Spring Manufacturers.
He was the husband of the late Bernice (nee Reid); father of Fred Jacobsen and his loving partner, Connie Foster of Chicago and Tom (Ellen) Jacobsen of Green River, Wy.; brother of the late Signa Franz; grandmother of eight; and great-grandmother of six.

Josephine Jagiello of Carpentersville
A funeral Mass for Josephine Jagiello, 83, will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 845 W. Main St., West Dundee.
Born March 15, 1916, in Chicago, the daughter of Joseph and Anna (nee Spyrka) Jurek, she died Wednesday, May 12, 1999, at Sherman Hospital. Burial will be in Dundee Township East Cemetery, East Dundee.
An 18-year resident of the area, she was a member of the church.
Survivors include her daughters, Joan (Howard) Cawthon of Newport News, Va., Geraldine (Hank) Rose of Yorktown, Va. and Judith Kloss of Carpentersville; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and sister, Stephanie Saccone.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Matthew Jagiello on May 4, 1977; daughter, Janet Hoppe; and brothers, Stanley and Stephen Jurek.

Irene Marie Jansky of Elgin

Born April 24, 1922, in Tisch Mills, Wis., to Wenzel and Pauline Mizera Koukalik, she died Tuesday, May 11, 1999. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Elgin.
Mrs. Jansky had been employed as an inspector by Chicago Aerial Industries in Barrington, and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
She is survived by her daughters, Carolyn (Richard) York of South Bend, Ind., Marcia (Michael) Huddleston of Elgin and Paula (Robert) Johannes of Joliet; brother, Merlin (Kathryn) Koukalik of Daytona, Fla.; grandchildren, Adam and Jill York, Robin Shaffer, Kayla and Jowell Johannes, and Teresa and Michelle Huddleston; and great-grandchildren, Katie and Kelsey Shaffer.

Mr. Jiran worked for 50 years in the trucking industry. He retired as director of safety for Montgomery Tank Lines. He was also former Cub Master of Pack 222 and founder of the Scout Post at St. Mary's.
He was the husband of Theresa (nee Felker); father of David (Katherine) Jiran of Collinsville, Okla., Donald (Lisa)Jiran of Hayden Lake, Idaho, Donna Jean Jiran of Hoffman Estates and Theresa (Richard) Van Wazer of Des Plaines; grandfather of 13 and the late Jacob Jiran; and great-grandfather of 11.
