Verna Helen Tannery of Naperville
Prayers for Verna Helen Tannery, 86, will be said at 9 a.m. Tuesday, at Beidelman-Kunsch Funeral Home, 117 W. Van Buren, Naperville. Mass will follow at 9:30 a.m. at SS. Peter and Paul Church, 26 N. Ellsworth, Naperville.
Born May 3, 1912, in Naperville, she died Wednesday, March 24, 1999, at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield. Interment will be private.
A lifelong Naperville resident, she was born on the Meisinger farm located on South Washington Street which was then called River Road. Mrs. Tannery's grandparents were the Bailey Hobson's. Her late uncle Andy Stoos ran the popcorn stand which is now part of Naper Settlement and Stoos Lane in Naperville is named after Andy. Her mother was one of the first of three phone operators in Naperville. Mrs. Tannery was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Church and was very active in Sister Aniceta's Young at Heart Senior Group at the church. She joined the Naperville Woman's Club in 1956 and was very active in the club. She was also very active with the Naperville Senior Citizen's Group as well as a member of the Moose Lodge Chapter #83 in Aurora. Mrs. Tannery worked at National Foods in Naperville for a number of years. She also worked as a sales clerk and did alterations for both the Mother & Daughter Shop and Lillyans Clothing Shop located in downtown Naperville.
Mrs. Tannery was a graduate of Washington School.
Survivors include her son, Robert of Sebastian, Fla.; daughter, Alva Jean Chastain of Naperville; grandchildren, Jason and Micah Tannery, Tracy Gentile and Steven Chastain; great-grandchildren, Joseph, Aly and Alex Gentile; and sisterin-law, Clara Tannery of Naperville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Jeanette (nee Stoos) Meisinger; husband, Elmer G. Tannery; and brothers, James, Robertand Fred Meisinger.

Robert T. Ziel of Rolling Meadows
Services for Robert T. Ziel, 82, will be held at 12:30 p.m. Monday, at Meadows Funeral Home, 3615 Kirchoff Road, Rolling Meadows.
Born Feb. 24, 1917, in Ladd, Ill., he died Thursday, March 25, 1999, at Northwest Community Healthcare, Arlington Heights. Entombment will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Arlington Heights.
Prior to his retirement, Mr. Ziel had been employed for more than 15 years as aproduct engineer for Kraft Foods. A World War II veteran, he had served in the Marine Corps. He was a member of the Arlington Heights Elks Club 2048 BPOE and a member of the Rolling Meadows Senior Center.
Survivors include his wife, Laura Ziel (nee Brinkman); children, Robert A. (Barbara) Ziel, Charlene Z. (Michael) Chambliss and Richard J. (Miriam) Ziel; grandchildren, Heather, Erin, Katie, Lauren, Craig and Michael Ziel; and sister, Laurette Bulfer.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home.

Bertha R. Zuehl-Miller of Batavia
A funeral Mass for Bertha R. ZuehlMiller, 95, will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, at Holy Cross Church in Batavia, where she will lie in state from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass. The Rev. David Huber will officiate.
Born Dec. 13, 1903, in Chicago, to John and Mary (nee Novak) Walatka, she passed away Friday, March 26, 1999, at her home. Interment will be in River Hills Memorial Park, Batavia.
She is survived by her son, Harry (Joyce) Zuehl of California; daughter-inlaw, Clara Zuehl of Batavia; sister, Dolores Anderson of Batavia; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Robert John Zuehl Sr. and William Miller; son, Robert Zuehl Jr.; daughter, Sandra Frega; sister, Ella Zuehl; and niece, Kristy Moecher.

Born July 23, 1909, in Chicago, she died Friday, March 26, 1999, in Bloomingdale.

A homemaker, she was the wife of the late Wilbert `Bill' J. Blaesing; mother of Duane Sr., John (Judy), Gerald and Janet Blaesing; grandmother of Darla, Duane Jr. (Laura) and Deon (Dionne); great-grandmother of Brittany, Dane and Skye; and sister of Kenneth (Shirley) Braun, and the late Irwin (late Evelyn) Braun, Lawrence (Louella) Braun and Bernice (late John) McClellen.

Fred started working for Illinois Cleaners for 8 years, before going into the automobile industry. He was employed by Skip Hanson Automobile Dealership for 28 years, Jim Wulf Chevrolet, Don McCue and finally retired from Zimmerman Ford in 1987. He and his wife then moved to Sunrise Beach. He was also a veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Mae; son, Robert (Phyllis) Chesnut of Geneva; niece, Marjory (Lyle) York of Peoria; and great-nieces, Kimberly (George) Switzer and Kelly (Todd) Barber, both of Peoria.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Floyd Chesnut; and sister, Geneva McKinney.

Phillip M. De Clercq of Long Grove

For the past year Mr. De Clercq was corporate controller for Lekic LLC and he served in the same capacity for 12 years for Interstate Brands Corp. For the past 20 years he was associated with Arlington Heights Youth Athletic Association in various capacities as former member and director of girls softball. Mr. De Clercq was a resident of Long Grove for 20 years.
He was the loving husband of Kathleen (nee Koffman), whomhe married on July 15, 1967, in Chicago; dearest father of Michele De Clercq of Arlington Heights and Tiffany (Bill) Thompson of McHenry; dear grandfather of Carly Nicole Thompson; loved brother of Sue (John) Karels of Streamwoodand the late Vicki Lou De Clercq; son of the late Victor and Lucille De Clercq; and dear uncle of Sheri (Dominick)Tomasello of Streamwood.

Evan D. Cox
Private funeral services and interment will be held for Evan D. Cox, 67, most recently of Lake Geneva, Wis.
Born Dec. 23, 1931, in Chicago, he passed away Friday, March 26, 1999, at Northern Illinois Medical Center, McHenry.
Mr. Cox had made his home in Lake Geneva for the past two years and had formerly lived in Bull Shoals, Ark., for more than 10 years. He retired in 1987 from the Teletype Corporation in Skokie, with more than 30 years of service. Mr.
Cox also served his country in the
Korean War.
He leaves his daughter, Cindy (Kenneth)O'Connor of Spring Grove; son, Robert (Geri) Cox of Streamwood; grandsons, Todd and Jake Evan; and sister, Diane (Ronadl) Frankel of Tarpan Springs, Fla.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Charlotte Cox, on Nov. 4, 1996.

Eric Davidson of Carpentersville

Born Nov. 26, 1927, in Battle Creek, Mich., to Thomas and Elsie (nee Maidment) Davidson, he passed away Saturday, March 27, 1999, at Sherman Hospital, Elgin. Burial will be in Dundee East Cemetery.
Mr. Davidson had been employed with the St. Charles Manufacturing Company for 46 years and retired as supervisor of maintenance.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Davidson; daughters, Jean (David) Schuhardt of Michigan and Diana (Donald) Sliwa of Carpentersville; grandchildren, Robert Balfany, Lisa Balfany and Brianna Schuhardt, all of Michigan; and brother, Donald Davidson of Carpentersville.
