Mary Elizabeth Kirshbaum formerly of Wheaton
A celebration of the life of Mary Elizabeth Kirshbaum, 83, will be held on Saturday, June 12, 1999, with a luncheon at C'est Si Bon, 4 miles east of Port Angeles, Wash.
Born April 7, 1915, in Salem, Ohio, to Warren and Stella Heinze Ball, she died Wednesday, March 10, 1999, at her SunLand home in Sequim, Wash.
Mrs. Kirshbaum was a homemaker and member of First Church of Christ Scientist in Sequim. She and her husband moved to Washington in 1983 from Sedgwick, Maine.
She graduated from Salem High School in Salem, Ohio in 1933, and later attended one year of college at the University of California at Los Angeles, where she focused on interior design and decoration.
She and George Kirshbaum were married June 11, 1939, in the chapel at the University of Pennsylvania.
Mary previously worked as an assistant librarian at the Salem Public Library in Salem after high school, was reference librarian at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, and was librarian for Lockheed in North Hollywood, Calif. during World War II.
She loved tennis, golf, gardening, organ playing and reading. She was a member of Glen Oak Country Club in Glen Ellyn and won several tournaments there, before moving to Mainein the early 1970s.
Mrs. Kirshbaum was active with the American Field Service in Woodland Hills, Calif., women's club in Wheaton, and garden club and Coast Guard Auxiliary in Sedgwick. She founded `Forget Me Not' gift shop at the Blue Hill Hospital in Blue Hill, Maine.
In addition to her husband at the family home, Mrs. Kirshbaum is survived byher son, Jon Alan Kirshbaum of Wheaton; niece, Joan Small of Sequim; and nephew, Charles Sutter of Afton, Wyo.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Clarence and Harry Ball; sister, Margaret Sutter; and son, Kurt Edward Kirshbaum.

Anna Kunzle
Anna Kunzle, age 80, wife of Josef (deceased), mother of Loretta (Otto) Dobias of Sumner, Wash., James (Emma) Kunzle of Bradford, Ill., and June (Raymond) Gavin of Glenview; sister of Lorraine (George) Pawelski; grandmother of Michael, Terry, James, Douglas (deceased), Tom, Christopher, Susan, Elizabeth, Maureen, Jon, Michelle, Cathy and Megan; great-grandmother of 20. She will be deeply missed by all.
Anna was a member of St. Emily Catholic Church, St. Em's Gems, and the Mount Prospect Women's Club. Anna loved a good game of cards with her friends and was always interested in what was happening in the lives of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
With wonderful wit, Anna entertained her family with many interesting stories of her life and its adventures. She was a woman of great character, compassion and love of family. Her family feels blessed to be descendants of this beautiful woman.
The wake will take place from 4 to 9 p.m. today, at Friedrichs Funeral Home, 320 W. Central Road, Mount Prospect. Services will begin with prayers at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, at the funeral home, followed by a funeral Mass celebrated at 11 a.m. at St. Emily Catholic Church, 101 N. Horner (at Central, between Wolf and Rand Roads), Mount Prospect. Interment will be in Maryhill Cemetery, Niles.

Chester J. Marzec of Mount Prospect
Services for Chester J. Marzec, 76, will begin with prayersat 8:45 a.m. Saturday, at Matz Funeral Home, 410 E. Rand Road, Mount Prospect, and continue with Mass at 9:30 a.m. at St. Thomas Becket Church.
Born June 20, 1922, in Chicago, he died Tuesday, March 23, 1999, at Glenbrook Hospital, Glenview. Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines.
Prior to his retirement Mr. Marzec had worked as a maintenance engineer for a high school.
He was the beloved husband of Marilyn Marzec; loving father of Alfred (Michelle), Thomas (Natalya), James (Stephanie) and Richard Marzec; proud grandfather of Maryia and Jason; fond brother of the late Mildred, Sandra, Steven, Fred and Shirley; and dear partner of Commodore.

Carmen E. Noble of Gurnee
A Mass of the Resurrection for Carmen E. Noble, 65, will be held at noon Monday, at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 6401 Gages Lake Rd. (corner of Hunt Club and Gages Lake Road), Gurnee. Rev. Farrell Kane will officiate.
Born May 30, 1933, in Belize, Central America, she passed away Thursday, March 25, 1999, at home. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park Cemetery, Libertyville.
She came to the United States in 1988 and had resided in Gurnee since Sept. 1998, formerly living in Chicago.
She leaves her children, Rosalia Campos, Suad Holder, Nour Rishmawy, Farida Rishmawy, Faud Rishmawy and Farid Rishmawy; grandchildren, Elizabeth Rishmawy, Kathryn Campos, Tara Holder, Donavan Holder and Brevel Holder; sisters, Olga and Trina; and brothers, Andres and Alfredo.
Friends of the family may visit from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass Monday, at the church.

Dawn E. Nyberg of Downers Grove
Services for Dawn E. Nyberg, 46, formerly of Elk Grove Village, will be held at 8 p.m. Sunday, at Hallowell and James Funeral Home, 301-75th St., Downers Grove.
Born July 16, 1952, in Chicago, she died Wednesday, March 24, 1999, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove. Interment will be private.
She was employed as an executive secretary at Fairview Village in Downers Grove.
She was the wife of Bartley J., formerly of Elmhurst; daughter of Gerald and the late Margaret Wooley of St. Petersburg Beach, Fla.; sister of Jerry and Scott Wooley of Schaumburg; and aunt of many nieces and nephews.

Shirley M. Renard of South Elgin

Born March 5, 1923, in St. Charles, to William B. and Edith (nee Johnson) Clarke, she died Wednesday, March 24, 1999, at Provena St. Joseph Hospital, Elgin. Burial will be in River Valley Memorial Gardens, West Dundee.
Mrs. Renard had been a resident of South Elgin since 1957 and was a member of the First Christian Church of Elgin. Among her special interests, she was an avid teddy bear collector.
Survivors include her husband, William J. Renard, whom she married June 26, 1954; sons, Clarke (Beverly) Renard of Hampshire and Roger (Julie) Renard of Elgin; grandchildren, Jenlee, Christopher and Valerie; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.

Patrick B. Sandell of North Barrington

Mr. Sandell was a member of Biltmore Country Club, chairman of A. N. S. I. Standards Committee X3B11, president of Opticord Incorporated and chairman of Accu-Mem Systems, Incorporated.
Survivors include his wife, Theresa M., whom he married on April 11, 1970; daughters, Elise A. and Denise L.; mother, Monique Sandell; brother, Michael (Sylvia); sisters, Nancy Jean (Randall) Schoo, Betty (Ron) Blank and Anne-Marie (Kevin) Bridges; and nine nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, William Sandell.

Born June 10, 1985, in Arlington Heights, the sonof Susan and Mike, he passed away Sunday, March 21, 1999, in Denver, Colo. Burial will be in Austin Memorial Park.
He was a lover of life, and a beloved son and brother. He was a seventh grade student at Hill Country Middle Schoolin Westlake.

Verna Helen Tannery of Naperville

Born May 3, 1912, in Naperville, she died Wednesday, March 24, 1999, at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield. Interment will be private.
A lifelong Naperville resident, she was born on the Meisinger farm located on South Washington Street which was then called River Road. Mrs. Tannery's grandparents were the Bailey Hobson's. Her late uncle Andy Stoos ran the popcorn stand which is now part of Naper Settlement and Stoos Lane in Naperville is named after Andy. Her mother was one of the first of three phone operators in Naperville. Mrs. Tannery was a member of SS. Peter and Paul Church and was very active in Sister Aniceta's Young at Heart Senior Group at the church. She joined the Naperville Woman's Club in 1956 and was very active in the club. She was also very active with the Naperville Senior Citizen's Group as well as a member of the Moose Lodge Chapter #83 in Aurora. Mrs. Tannery worked at National Foods in Naperville for a number of years. She also worked as a sales clerk and did alterations for both the Mother & Daughter Shop and Lillyans Clothing Shop located in downtown Naperville.
Mrs. Tannery was a graduate of Washington School.
Survivors include her son, Robert of Sebastian, Fla.; daughter, Alva Jean Chastain of Naperville; grandchildren, Jason and Micah Tannery, Tracy Gentile and Steven Chastain; great-grandchildren, Joseph, Aly and Alex Gentile; and sisterin-law, Clara Tannery of Naperville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Jeanette (nee Stoos) Meisinger; husband, Elmer G. Tannery; and brothers, James, Robertand Fred Meisinger.
