Gilbert R. Hergesheimer of Arlington Heights for 36 years
Funeral services for Gilbert R. Hergesheimer, 77, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 100 S. School St., Mount Prospect.
Born April 14, 1921, in Chicago, he died Friday, March 19, 1999, at his home, after a long and valiant struggle with chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder. Interment will be in Randhill Park Cemetery.
After his retirement, Mr. Hergesheimer enjoyed working at Arlington Lakes Golf Course. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and spent much of his tour on the USS Alkaid and kept in touch with his fellow sailors throughout the years. He was a proud member of VFW Post #1337 and a longtime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Mount Prospect. `Grandpa Gil' was loved and will be missed by his many neighborhood children.
He is survived by his wife, Florence (nee Dittmer), to whom he was married 53 years; children, Jan, Jim and Lisa; daughter-in-law, Deborah; sister, Laverne Nichols; sister-in-law, Eunice (Robert) Girard; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Henry.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. today, at Friedrichs Funeral Home, 320 W. Central Road at Northwest Hwy., Mount Prospect, and from 10 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. Tuesday, at the church.

Michael T. Horner Jr. of Bartlett
Services for Michael T. Horner, 24, will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, at Bethel Baptist Church, 200 N. Roselle Road, Schaumburg. He will lie in state from 12:30 until the time of service.
Born Dec. 19, 1974 in Arlington Heights, he died Friday, March 19, 1999, after a hard-fought struggle with leukemia. Interment will be in All Saints Cemetery.
Mr. Horner was a founding member of Silver Saddle Spurs in Hoffman Estates.
He was survived by his parents, Gisele (David) Cruz and Michael (Karen) Horner Sr.; daughter, Jordyn Taylur Horner; twin brother, Matthew and brothers, Adam, Justin and Cody; sisters, Stephanie and Kallie; grandparents, Thomas (Marsha) Horner of Park Ridge and Carl and Marlene Smith of Hoffman Estates; many aunts and uncles, cousins and a host of dear friends.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Hazel Horner.

Marie D. Janik of Libertyville
A funeral Mass for Marie D. Janik (nee Duba), 87, will be held at 11 a.m. today, at St. Joseph Church, 121 E. Maple, Libertyville.
Born Oct. 24, 1911, in Libertyville, she died Wednesday, March 17, 1999, at home.
Entombment will be in Ascension Mausoleum, Libertyville.
A lifelong resident of Libertyville, she was the Libertyville Historian for the Cook House of Libertyville and founding member of the Chrysanthemum Ball of St. Joseph Parish. She served as a greeter in period garb for Main Street Libertyville Annual Christmas Victorian Tea, and was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Parish and Guild of the BVM. She was also a member of the Libertyville Women's Club.
She was the wife of the late Joseph, he died in 1990; mother of Gregory (Karin) Janik of Cumming, Ga.; sister-in-law of Marie Plonka; sister of G. Raymond (Dee) Duba of Ingleside, Alice Duba of Libertyville, Dorothy Hackett of Ohio, Joan Gastfield of Cary and the late Noel (Nona) Duba; grandmother of Jarette (Debra) Janik and Jessica (Paul) Harvey; and great-grandmother of Sydney Harvey.

William F. Kenney of Wheaton
Services for William F. Kenney, 74, will begin with prayers at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, at Williams-Kampp Funeral Home, 430 E. Roosevelt Road (one block east of Naperville Road), Wheaton, and continue with Mass at 10 a.m., at St. Michael Church, 315 W. Illinois St., Wheaton.
He died Saturday, March 20, 1999, at Edward Hospital, Naperville. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Evergreen Park.
Mr. Kenney had been a resident of Wheaton for 30 years. A Navy veteran of World War II, he had received five battle stars. Mr. Kenney had been the owner of Kenney Exterior Products on Milwaukee Avenue in Chicago for 35 years and was a longtime member of the Northwest Builders Association. Among his personal interests, he was an avid golfer.
He was the beloved husband of Lillian Kenney (nee Rogers); loving father of William (Diana), John and Michael Kenney, Jill (John) Keogh, Lynette (Russell) Mobley and Mary Kay (the late James) Walsh; devoted grandfather of Daniel, Laura, Matthew, Kyle, Kelly, Michael and the late David; fond brother of Kevin (Phyllis) Kenney, and the late Charles (the lateLaverne), Robert Rogers and Sybill (the late Earl) Willingham; dear brother-in-law of James (Rosemary) Rogers, Patricia (Richard) Griffin and the late Marion (James) Hagen; and loving uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Army Air Corps.
