Clinton Melvin Flinner
Clinton Melvin Flinner, age 86, of 625 East Main Street, Victoria, Illinois passed away at 9:10 p.m. Friday, Jan. 21, 2000 at his home.
He was born Sept. 9, 1913 in Secor, Illinois, the son of Jacob and Elizabeth Fever Flinner. He married
Dorothy P. Roach on April 8, 1939 at Davenport, Iowa. She survives.
Other survivors include two sons, John E. Flinner, Victoria, and George L. Flinner, Abingdon; one daughter, JoAn Woodford, Wyoming, Illinois; one sister, Barbara Bricker, Wyoming, Illinois; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, seven sisters and six brothers.
He had lived in the Wyoming, Lafayette and Victoria areas all of his life.
He worked at Caterpillar in Peoria for 10 years. He farmed near Lafayette and Victoria for 18 years retiring in 1979 from Victoria F.S. (Farm Service) after working there for 17 years.
He was of the Methodist faith.
Graveside services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday with Rev. Marty Briney officiating followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. at the Victoria United Methodist Church. Hinchliff-Pearson-West Funeral Chapel in Galesburg was in charge of arrangements.
Burial was in Victoria cemetery.

Harry Shinn
Harry Shinn, age 96, a resident of Care Center of Abingdon, passed away at 3:58 p.m. Wednesday, January 12, 2000 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center emergency room Galesburg, Illinois.
He was born March 1, 1903 in London Mills, Illinois, the son of Benjamin and Cora McWilliams Shinn. He married
Mamie Halsey on November 13, 1922 in Galesburg, Illinois. She preceded him in death on January 29, 1987.
Survivors include his daughter-in-law, Eleanor Shinn, Abingdon; two granddaughters, Connie Poland, Abingdon and Phyllis Moyer, Glendale, Arizona; four grandchildren and two great-grandsons.
He was preceded in death by one son, Dean Shinn.
He was a farmer all of his life and farmed near Maquon and Abingdon.
Graveside services were held at the Maquon cemetery, Maquon, Illinois on Friday, January 14, 2000.
Hinchliff-Pearson-West Chapel Abingdon, was in charge of the arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
Doris I. Admire
Doris I. Admire, age 73, of 300 North Jefferson Street, Abingdon, Illinois, passed away at 2:25 p.m. Wednesday, January 12, 2000 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg, Illinois.
She was born Dec. 21, 1926 in Abingdon, Illinois, the daughter of Cecil E. and Hazel Lane Kilpatrick.
She is survived by five sons, Jack Admire, Jerry Admire and John Admire, all of South Carolina, Norman Admire, Chillicothe, Illinois and Alan Admire, of RR Abingdon, Illinois; four sisters, Shirley Woodside, Abingdon, Illinois, Ida Johnson, Dixon, Illinois, Lois West, Galesburg and Alberta Vallero, Sun City Arizona; several grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
She had lived in Abingdon all of her life graduating from Abingdon High School in 1944. She attended Carl Sandburg College in Galesburg.
She was a waitress at Abbe Lanes Restaurant in Abingdon for 23 years.
Graveside services were held Friday, Jan. 14, 2000 at the Abingdon cemetery with Eleanor Landon officiating.
Memorials may be made to the St. Jude’s Children's Hospital in Peoria.

Cora Boydstun
Cora Bell Boydstun, age 90, of Abingdon, Illinois, passed away at 5:15 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 15, 2000, at her home.
Born Aug. 19, 1909, in East Galesburg to Lawrence D. and Nallie Hall Neargarder, she married
Roy B. Boydstun on Feb. 21, 1929. He preceded her in death in 1977.
Two brothers and four sisters preceded her in death.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Ernest (Ruth) Jamerson of Abingdon and Betty Boydstun of Galesburg; 12 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, in the Abingdon cemetery. Corman Memorial Home, Avon, was in charge of the arrangements.
Ryal E. Keithley
Ryal E. Keithley, 91, of Macomb, died Monday, Feb. 7, at 6:45 p.m. at the Heartland Care Center in Macomb.
He was born April 29, 1908, in LaBelle, Mo., to Sanderson and Angie Kennedy Keithley. He married
Frances Leonard March 9, 1930. She died April 19, 1996.
He is survived by many nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Walter, Robert and Gilbert; and three sisters, Jewell Meeks, Forrest Grills and Abba Anderson.
Mr. Keithley was a farmer and trucker, and a deputy assessor for the city of Macomb for many years.
He was a member and former deacon of First Christian Church of Macomb. He was a member for the Farm Bureau and serves for many years on the board of directors, vice president of the former McDonough Grain & Milling Co. and for 19 years was on the board of the Producers Seed Co. state board.
Funeral services were Thursday, Feb. 10, at Sargent-Worthington Funeral Home with the Rev. James Stovall officiating. Burial was in Mt. Auburn cemetery in Colchester.
Memorials may be made to First Christian Church.
William F. 'Sonny' Macklin
William F. 'Sonny' Macklin, 63, of Montclair, Va., formerly of Macomb, died Friday, Jan. 28, 2000, in Montclair.
He was born Jan. 18, 1937, in Macomb to Alex F. and Elizabeth Sparks Macklin.
He is survived by his mother of Macomb; two sisters, Elizabeth Ann McNeal of Pueblo, Colo., and Mary Margaret Jones of Macomb; his wife, Bonnie; and one daughter, Andrea Roscoe of Stafford, Va.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Mr. Macklin graduated from Western High School and WIU. He spent eight years in the Air Force and retired from the Department of Labor in Washington, D.C.
He was a member of the Springfield, Va., Elks Lodge 176; Woodbridge, Va., American Legion Post 2355; and Masonic Lodge 310 in Occoquan, Va.
Cremation rites have been accorded.
Memorial services will be held at a later date in Macomb, with Dodsworth-Piper-Wallen Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Boyd B. Logan
Boyd B. Logan, age 85, of RR, Abingdon, Ill., passed away at 7:50 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2000 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg, Illinois.
He was born Oct. 21, 1914 in Gladstone Township, Henderson County, Illinois, the son of Thomas and Iva Burrell Logan. He married
Zelma Martin on Nov. 5, 1938 in Burlington, Iowa. She survives.
Other survivors include two sons, Gordon Logan, Decatur, and Rollan Logan, Colorado Springs, Colorado; one daughter, Rochelle Eberle, Williamsfield; one brother, Eldon Logan, Lincoln; three sisters, Mildred Wheeler, Cuba, Ada Heller, Murphysboro, and Jeanie Kerker, Blue Lake, California; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one grandson, three brothers and three sisters.
He lived near Abingdon for the past sixty years where he also farmed. He worked at Butler Manufacturing for thirty years retiring in 1981.
Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Fairview cemetery, Fairview, Illinois with Reverend Raymond McLaren officiating.

Catherine Sherman, age 76, of Daytona Beach, Florida, formerly of Abingdon, Peoria and Delavan, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2000, at Halifax Medical Center in Daytona Beach. Born Feb. 24, 1923, in Peoria to Neil and Laura Pankey DeYoung, she married
Howard Sherman in 1946 in Abingdon. He survives.
Also surviving are one son, Tom of Morton; two daughters, Carol Stockinger of Daytona Beach and Judy Dinelli of Morris; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three brothers, Frank DeYoung of Peoria, Neil DeYoung of Missouri and Edward DeYoung of Utah; three sisters, Ann Thacker and Margaret Bailey, both of Bartonville, and Emma Siebenthal of Peoria.
She was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
She worked at Caterpillar Inc. in East Peoria and later worked as a secretary at the Donnelly Insurance Agency in Delavan.
She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star.
Cremation has been accorded by the Volusia County Cremation Society in Daytona Beach.
