HARRISBURG - Chloe Pyles, 84, did Sunday, May 27, 2001, at her home.
She was a member of Land Street Missionary Baptist Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Connie Burnam and Wanda Dudley, both of Harrisburg; two grandchildren, David and Jason Burnam; two stepgrandchildren, Jimmie Dudley and Dianne Trail; two great-grandchildren; and stepgreat-grandchildren. Her husband, George, died in 2000.

Dora Volkert
ROSICLARE - Dora E. Volkert, 96, died Tuesday May 29, 2001, at Rosiclare Health Care Center of cardiac arrest.
She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters of America, Daughters of Isabella and St. Ann's Society.
Surviving are a daughter, Doris Bedenian of Glenview; two sons, Bob of Carlinville and Bill of Hurst, Texas; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Her husband, Jake, died in 1971.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with burial in the church cemetery.

Bob Nash
CISNE - Bob 'Gramps' Nash, 75, died Tuesday, May 29, 2001, at Fairfield Memorial Hospital of complications of a heart condition.
He had worked at Harvey Aluminum in Adrian, Mich., as a quality control supervisor. He was a World War II veteran. He was a Lutheran.
Surviving are his wife, Lois (Denker); three daughters, Gaylene Beck of Fairfield, Janine Nash of Caldwell, Idaho, and Charyl Neilson of Nashville, Tenn.; a sister, Frances Ingalls of Parker, S.D.; two brothers, Gene of Sioux Falls, S.D., and Dick of Redondo, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Hosselton Funeral Home, with burial in Cisne cemetery, with military rites.

Kermit McGehee
SHAWNEETOWN - Kermit Dorse 'Termite' McGehee, 78, died Tuesday, May 29, 2001, at Ferrell Hospital in Eldorado of heart failure.
He had been a painter for the Miles Laboratories in Chicago.
Surviving are a sister, Dorothy Pottorff of Cisne; and three brothers, Arthur of Fairfield, Kenneth of Puyallup, Wash., and Ronald of Hammond, Ind.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Vickery Funeral Chapel, with burial in McGehee cemetery in Junction.

Richard Churchwell
LAWRENCEVILLE - Richard F. Churchwell, 73, died Monday, May 28, 2001, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Ind., of complications of emphysema.
He was a sheetmetal worker for 18 years with Local 20 in Indianapolis.
He was a World War II Army veteran and member of Russellville Community Church, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Flat Rock Masonic Lodge.
Surviving are his wife, Mae (Hoke); a daughter, Paula Ford of Lawrenceville; two sons, Roger of Vero Beach, Fla., and Mike of Flat Rock; two sisters, Lois Zinke of Robinson and Sandra Bunton of Newton; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

MOUNT CARMEL - Audrey M. (Hawkins) Crandall, 92, died Tuesday, May 29, 2001, at Oakview Heights Nursing Home.
She was a member of Free Methodist Church.
Surviving are her husband, Grover A.; a son, Grover Jr. of Mount Carmel; a sister, Eloise Doan of Mount Carmel; and two grandchildren.

SPRINGERTON - Joseph L. 'Joe' Hon, 60, died Monday, May 28, 2001, at his home of heart failure.
He was a farmer.

McLEANSBORO - R. Lee Hall, 35, of Baxter, Iowa, died Monday, May 28, 2001, at his home. The cause of death is under investigation in Baxter.
He was a truck driver for Vitran Express and an Army veteran.
Surviving are his wife, Penny; a stepdaughter, Rayna Thomas of Monroe, Iowa; two sons, Robert Lee II of Tacoma, Wash., and Aden Clay of Monroe; a stepson, Jason Purtilo of Baxter; his mother, Mary (Willows) Cook of Des Moines, Iowa; and a sister, Elaine Gaumer of Carlisle, Iowa. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Marie Hall.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in Little Springs cemetery in McLeansboro. Harre Funeral Home is handling local arrangements.

CARMI - Doyle F. York, 81, died Monday, May 28, 2001, at White County Medical Center.
He was a mechanic with Superior Oil Co. for 37 years.
He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Methodist Men and Carmi Lions Club.
Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Jean (Apple); a daughter, Marilou Hamell of Malibu, Calif.; two sisters, Evelyn Beck and Dorothy Land, both of Carmi; a brother, Carroll of Louisville, Ky; and three grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, at the First United Methodist Church, with burial in White County Memorial Garden.

She had attended Honeycomb Church of God.
Surviving are two daughters, Arlene Fowler of Harrisburg and Brenda Raines of Golconda; five brothers, Cecil of Harrisburg, Dolan of Golconda, Wiley of Silva, Mo., Randell Deon of Elizabethtown and David of Herod; a sister, Hattie Williams of Elizabethtown; 16 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren. Her husband, Cecil, preceded her in death.

ROBINSON - Rose Marie Napier Warner, 44, of Charleston, died Tuesday, May 29, 2001, at Douglas Care & Rehabilitation Center in Mattoon of complication of a heart condition.
She worked for the Lincoln Land Hospice in the Charleston and Mattoon areas.
She was a graduate of Robinson High School, attended Lincoln Trail College and received a degree in education from Eastern Illinois University.
She was a member of Charleston Catholic Church.
Surviving are her mother and stepfather, Shirley and Dean Evelin of Palestine; a sister, Angie Nethery of Palestine; two stepsisters, Deana Tracey of Oblong and Connie Kimberlin; two brothers, Johnny Napier of Fort Worth, Texas, and Mike Napier of Sullivan; a stepbrother, Henry 'Hank' Evelin of Palestine; and nieces and nephews.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Goodwine Funeral Home in Palestine, with burial in Palestine cemetery.
