Bruce E. Trunnell, 63, of East Moline, passed away Monday, May 27th, 2013 at Hope Creek Care Center, East Moline.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, May 31st, 2013 at DeRoo Funeral Home, Moline, IL. Close friends and family are invited to attend the visitation held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at National cemetery, Rock Island, where military rites will be conducted by the Moline American Legion, Post 246.
Bruce was born on March 25th, 1950 in Moline the son of Robert and Gertrude Trunnell. He married
Vicki L. Martin on September 8th, 1990 in Moline.
He was employed at Office Machine Consultants, Rock Island, for 18 years as a Repair Technician and later at Rhythm City Casino as a Slot Technician. Bruce was an Army Veteran, serving his country during the Vietnam War. He was a Chicago Bears & St. Louis Cardinals fan and enjoyed golfing, Fantasy Football, country music & dancing and movies. He enjoyed flying remote model airplanes and was a member of the Sky Raiders Club, Moline. Bruce loved to vacation in Mexico with his wife and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Vicki; mother, Gertrude; sons and daughter-in-law, Chad & Laura Trunnell, Leander, TX and Eldon Trunnell, Lago Vista, TX; grandson, Evan and brother and sister-in-law, Brian & Shelly Trunnell, Bettendorf. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert and sister, Jana Beckman.
Rose M. Coussens

Rose M. Coussens, 94, formerly of Moline, passed away Thursday, May 16th, 2013, in Jacksonville FL.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 23rd, 2013, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Moline. Visitation is 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at DeRoo Funeral Home, Moline, with a Rosary recited at 4:00 p.m. Burial will be at National cemetery, Rock Island, IL.
Rose was born March 21st, 1919, in Centerville, IA, the daughter of Sam & Rose Gagliordi Zuccarello. She married
Wallace J. Coussens on June 28th, 1947 in Davenport. He preceded her in death on January 26th, 1996.
During WWII, Rose worked at the R.I. Arsenal and later at Oscar Mayer. When her children were born, she became a full time mother. Rose loved making pies and canning vegetables. Her family’s favorite meal was her tasty spaghetti and meatballs. On Saturday night you would find Rose and Wally dancing to music of the 40’s and 50’s just the same way as when they met at the Col Ballroom in 1946. Rose was very proud of her husband’s carpentry skills – he had built over a dozen homes in the Quad City area in his lifetime. Rose and Wally wintered in Bradenton, FL for about 40 years. After Wally’s death Rose continued to snowbird and enjoyed playing cards and bingo with her many wonderful friends. She loved her family adding more love as each grandchild and great grandchild was born. Little did Rose know that when Wally was only 6 years old his favorite flower was the “Rose”!
Surviving are her Daughter, Diane St. Laurent (Peter) of Jacksonville, FL with whom she resided the last 2 years, daughter-in-law, Mary Clark of Bettendorf, IA, Grandchildren: Julie Stewart (Gerard) Jacksonville, FL, Tory Reyes (Jason) Bettendorf, IA, Great Grandchildren: Jacob Stewart, Michael Alvarado, Coco Alvarado, Isabella Reyes, brother and sister-in-laws, Jim and Violet Coussens, East Moline, brother of Wallace Coussens and host of nieces, nephews and cousins in the Illinois and Iowa area. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Coussens, son, Michael Coussens, parents and siblings: Charlie and Joe Zuccarello, Pat Creagan, Jean Barton, Mary Peterson and two younger siblings.

James H. Lane, 90, of Moline, passed away Tuesday, May 28th, 2013 at UnityPoint Health – Trinity Rock Island.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 31st, 2013 at DeRoo Funeral Home, Moline, IL. Visitation is from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at National cemetery, Rock Island.
James was born on July 10th, 1922 in Keokuk, IA, the son of Harry E. and Louise Mitchell Lane. He married
Betty Gager in 1943 in Keokuk.
As a young man, James worked for a paint company in Keokuk and also drove a Wonder Bread truck for several years in Illinois, Iowa and Colorado. He most recently was employed for 13 years at French & Hecht Co. as an Inspector, retiring in 1984.
James was an Army Veteran, serving his country during WWII. He was a member of the Masonic Trinity Lodge #208, Davenport and Christ Family Church, Bettendorf. James enjoyed Ball Room Dancing and camping, playing cards and bicycling.
He is survived by Betty Sels, his friend and companion for 25 years. He was preceded in death by his parents and a very special aunt, Pauline.

Evelyn was born March 7, 1916, in Moline, the daughter of Camiel & Zulma Wostyn Verstraete. She married
Virgil S. Osmeyer on October 16, 1965, in Moline. He preceded her in death on July 1, 1970.
She was employed as a cashier for the former Eagle Foods in Moline.
Evelyn was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Moline, the Sacred Heart Altar & Rosary Society and the Friends Circle Club. She enjoyed playing bingo and crossword puzzles.
Survivors include her sister-in-law, Betty Verstraete, Moline and brother-in-law, Ken Van Opdorp, Moline, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, 4 sisters and 3 brothers.

Richard D. Van Raes, 65, of Moline, passed away Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at Heartland Health Care Center, Moline, IL.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 17, 2011 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Moline.
Visitation is 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. Sunday at DeRoo Funeral Home, Moline, where a Rosary will be recited at 2:00 p.m.
Burial will be at National cemetery, Rock Island, IL, where the Moline American Legion will conduct military rites.
Memorials may be made to Alleman High School, Seton School, Sacred Heart Church or the Polyrhythems.
Richard was born February 23, 1946, in Moline, the son of Archie “Curly” & Margaret B. Van Quekelberghe VanRaes.
Richard was a decorated Marine veteran, having served during the Vietnam War.
He was employed for 33 years as a Planner for the City of East Moline.
Richard was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Moline, Eagle Scouts, a 1964 graduate of Alleman High School and graduate of Southern Illinois University with a degree in Journalism. He was very active in the Democratic Party.
Survivors include his parents, “Curly” & Margaret Van Raes, Moline; sisters and brother-in-law, Terri & Jim Dyer, Coal Valley and Rita D. Van Raes, Moline, nieces, nephews and cousins.
John F. Kennedy

John F. “Jack” Kennedy, 87, formerly of Rock Island, passed away Saturday, October 8, 2011 at Sharon Health Care, Peoria, IL.
Funeral Services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at DeRoo Funeral Home, Moline. Msgr. Dale Wellman, pastor of Sacred Heart Church, Moline, will officiate. Visitation is one hour prior to the service, at the funeral home. Burial is at Memorial Park cemetery, Rock Island, IL. Memorials may be given to Sharon Health Care in John’s name.
Jack was born July 30, 1924, in Montclaire, NJ, the son of John & Katheryn Hall Kennedy. He married
the former Charlotte Antonitti May 7, 1949. She preceded him in death in May of 1977.
He was employed by the former Chicago – Tri-City Trucking, Rock Island.
Survivors include sisters, Patricia Showalter, Bettendorf, IA, and Margaret Maloney, Fresno, CA, cousins, Don Hartwig and Gerry Bell and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Christopher Jon Kennedy and sister, Mary Jo Miller.

Betty A. Marquess, 86, of Rock Island, passed away Tuesday, September 27th, 2011 at Heartland Health Care Center, Moline.
Funeral Services will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 3rd, 2011, at DeRoo Funeral Home, Moline. Visitation is Monday 10:00 until the time of the service. Burial is at National cemetery, Rock Island.
The former Betty Westphal was born January 16, 1925 in Moline, IL, the daughter of Elmer and Margaret (DeConick) Westphal. She married
Edwin Marquess on January 1, 1946 in Moline.
She was a 1942 graduate of Moline High School, past President of the Horace Mann Elementary School PTA, past President & 50 year member of the Rock Island Women’s Club and member of the Rock Island Y Wives. Betty worked at B&B; Hardware, Milan for 10 years, retiring in 1980, and the former Ilinois Bell & enjoyed keeping in touch with her co-workers and their friendship. She loved the beauty of flowers and animals, always having pets. Betty was always positive and saw the good in those around her.
Survivors include her husband, Edwin; son and daughter-in-law, Mark & Donna Marquess, Rock Island; grandsons, Michael (Beth), Marshalltown, IA and William (Amy), Des Moines, IA; great-grandchildren, Lily and James.

Jose Flores, 54, of Laguna Larga, Guanajuato, Mexico, passed away Friday, August 26, 2011 at St. Vincent Hospital, Green Bay, WI.

Visitation is from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at DeRoo Funeral Home, Moline, where a rosary will be recited at 4:00 p.m. Burial will be at St. Mary’s cemetery, East Moline. Memorials may be made to the family in Jose’s name for a memorial to be established.
Jose was born November 26, 1956, in Laguna Larga, Mexico, the son of Gregorio & Maria De Jesus Flores.

The former Yvonne C. Morel was born December 13, 1912, in Ghent, Belgium, the daughter of Charles & Elisa Verhelst Morel. She married
Marcel G. Warlop, June 14, 1933, in Moline. He preceded her in death, February 9, 1987.
Yvonne was a member of Sacred Heart Church, Sacred Heart Altar & Rosary Society and the Friends Circle Club, Moline. She loved spending time with family and friends and enjoyed playing cards.
Survivors include her daughter and son in law, Arlene & Dave Bauwens, son, C. Daniel Warlop, all of Tucson, 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren, brother in law and sister in law, Don & Delores Warlop, Moline, and several nieces and nephews.

Randall Taets

Randall “Randy” Taets, 47, of Rock Island, passed away Saturday, September 24, 2011, at St. Francis Medical center, Peoria, IL.
Per his wishes the body will be cremated. Memorials may be made in Randy’s name to the Quad City Animal Welfare Center Humane Society, Milan, IL. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Randy was born August 10, 1964 in Aledo, IL, the son of William E. & Betty R. Olinger Taets.
He was employed as a Dry Wall Finisher for Local 502 for 20 years.
He enjoyed motorcycling, fishing and hunting.
Survivors include his father, William Taets, 2 step sisters, 3 step brothers, aunts, Helen Sommers, Mary, cousins, Mary Lou Stoneking and Susanne Pasdach, many nieces and nephews and special friends, Curt Rosenberg and Joey Durbin. He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Taets and step mother, Rosemary Taets.
