Donna Schnoebelen on April 11, 1958 in Moline. She preceded him in death on June 13, 1979. Ralph was employed by the Rock Island Arsenal as a plumber for 22 years. He enjoyed fishing. Ralph was a veteran serving in the United States Marine Corp from April 4, 1957-April 1, 1959. Survivors include sons, Arron and Chris Sersion and a daughter, Betty Sersion; 1 granddaughter, Donna Rodgers and 1 brother Lawrence “Bud” Sersion.

Phyllis I. Pearson, age 71 of Moline died June 3, 2004 at Trinity Medical Center, Rock Island. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 9th at Esterdahl Mortuary, Ltd., 6601- 38th Avenue, Moline with the Rev. Kimberly Riebe officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 on Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Riverside cemetery, Moline. Memorials may be made to First Day Fund through United Township Clergy or a charity of your choice. Phyllis Irene was born on August 5, 1932 in Moline, the daughter of Arthur and Dora Melin Pearson. Her mother passed away on May 23, 1949, when she was a junior in high school. Being an only child, she became a companion and a housekeeper for her father. Phyllis completed United Township High School in 1950. She graduated from Augustana College with a B.S. in Speech Therapy in 1954. She earned her Master's (M.S.) degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology from the University of Illinois in 1961. She taught for twelve years in the Silvis Schools. She also ran a neighborhood grocery store and worked as a realtor at times. For the past 34 years, Phyllis had worked in Riverdale Schools, District #100, in Port Byron, IL as a speech/language pathologist for pre-school through high school students. She touched the lives of many children during her 49 years of teaching. She had planned on retiring in June of 2005. Phyllis was a member of American Business Women's Association, Plow Capital Chapter since 1973. She also belonged to the Quad City Speech & Hearing Association, the Riverdale Teacher's Association, Council for Exceptional Children, the Silvis Classroom Teachers Association, and East Moline Women's Club. She was a member of the Zal Caldron #4 of Moline. She was a member of the Nifty-Fifties Group in high school. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in East Moline during high school and college through 1960 and was very active in the youth groups of the church. Phyllis was also a member of Short Hills Country Club and the Clara Lodge #118 Independent Order of Vikings. Her other memberships include AARP, the Croation Club, Willow Springs, the Moose, the YMCA, and the Regional Office of Education. Her joys in life included playing piano, reading, golfing, swimming and dining with friends. Survivors include her cousins, Nola Melin Hopp, Beaufort, SC, Roma Melin Medd of Bettendorf, and Jon Melin of Moline.

Clarence Ruud July 22, 1932 in Oquawka; he preceded her in death on November 25, 1980. Margaret enjoyed traveling and studying history and genealogy. She was also active in the Moline Senior Citizens Center.

James Frame Horsman in Missouri. She later married
Everett W. Weekly on October 3, 1959 in Moline. He preceded her in death on November 20, 1980. Wanda was a nurses aide on the pediatric floor at the former Moline Public Hospital. Wanda enjoyed fishing, playing cards and being with her family and friends.

John was born January 9, 1916 in Chicago, IL to John and Marie Theresa Rose Muzika Vana. He moved to Moline in 1941 to work at the Arsenal and in ten months he met his wife in Moline. He married
Amber Jewell Erickson on February 21, 1943 in Moline. She preceded him in death on April 10, 2001. John was a tool, die & gage maker for the Rock Island Arsenal for 30 years retiring in January of 1976. John built his family home during 1953-1955. He enjoyed camping, making frames for his wife’s paintings, astronomy and spending winters for 21 years at Ramblers Rest Resort in Venice, FL. He also enjoyed slumber parties with his grandchildren and watching their sporting events.

Rosalie T. Robinson (Nana), 85, formerly of Wadsworth, OH and Orion, IL went to be with the Lord on May 26, 2004 at Rosewood Care Center, Moline. A memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on June 6, 2004 at Orion Christian Church on Route 150 Orion, IL. In accordance with her wishes, her body has been cremated. Burial will take place at Woodlawn cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be made to Orion Christian Church Youth Group or Heartland Hospice. Kirk, Huggins & Esterdahl Funeral Home, Ltd. is assisting the family. Rosalie was born September 13, 1918 in Dover, OH the daughter of Joseph and Annantonia (Panza) Tecco. She was one of fourteen children. She graduated from Dover High School in 1936. She entered nurses training and graduated in 1940 from Peoples Hospital. She was head nurse at Akron General Hospital, retiring in 1986. She was a membr of Grace Lutheran Church. She was a volunteer for the American Red Cross. She was a membr of the Woman’s Club of Wadworth. She also volunteered at the Wadsworth Hospital for a number of years. She planted flowers at her church and the square in Wadsworth, OH. She was an avid gardener. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, making cards, reading and her many Christian retreats. She enjoyed people and that showed in her many years of nursing and the wonderful care she gave her patients.

Maurice R. “Dick” DeMeyer, Jr. age 61 of Coal Valley died peacefully at the home of his daughter after a courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by his family at his side. Funeral services will be 12 p.m. Saturday, May 29, 2004 at Kirk, Huggins & Esterdahl Funeral Home, Ltd., Orion. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Burial will be at Western cemetery, Orion. Military honors will be conducted by American Legion Post #255 and Orion VFW # 143 Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital or Gilda’s Club. Maurice was born May 24, 1943 in Moline to Maurice R. and Marie Batsleer DeMeyer, Sr. He married
Deborah S. Huggins on April 6, 1968 in East Moline. Maurice was operator in the Power House for John Deere Harvester, East Moline from 1977 to last working in November of 2002. Prior to his job at John Deere he was self-employed for 10 years as owner and operator for DX Gas Station, East Moline. Maurice was an Army veteran serving from 1965-1967.
