John `Jack' F. Poellien formerly of Palatine
Memorial services for John `Jack' F. Poellien, 60, of Cassville, Ark., will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, at Meadows Funeral Home, 3615 Kirchoff Rd., Rolling Meadows.
Nov. 14, 1938, in Chicago, he died Friday, Jan. 8, 1999, at his home, from lung cancer. He had been retired for seven months and eight days.
Mr. Poellien worked for 8 years in Rolling Meadows and for 24 years in Arlington Heights in the forestry division.
Survivors include his wife, Carol; daughter, Jeanette (Tony) Rosario of Berwyn; son, Joseph Poellien of Algonquin; stepdaughters, Karen Morine and Virginia (Dale) Peterson; stepsons, Peter Morine, Jan and Tim Morine, all of Minneapolis, Minn.; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Charleseight days earlier; and parents, John Edward and Evelyn Rita Poellien.

Helen M. Rice formerly of Elgin
Services for Helen M. Rice (nee Rehberg), 69, of San Jose, Calif., will be held at noon Saturday, at McHenry County Memorial Park chapel, 11301 Lake, Woodstock. Pastor Roger Schneider of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church of McHenry will officiate.
Born April 30, 1929, in Huntley, she died Monday, Feb. 22, 1999, at Valley Medical Center, San Jose. Interment will follow.
A homemaker, she was the wife of the late Lawrence Rice; mother of Randy (Wanpun) Rice of San Jose and the late Rae Ann Whitting; sister of Herman (Sandy) Rehberg of Arizona, LaVerne (Alice) Rehberg of Algonquin, Roger (Joyce) Rehberg of Springfield, Ill., Ruth (Stanley) Brown of McHenry, and the late Richard Rehberg and Violet Rice; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of services Saturday, at the cemetery chapel.

Harold J. Scheppman formerly of Hoffman Estates
Services for Harold J. Scheppman, 73, of Cape Coral, Fla., will begin with prayers at 11 a.m. Saturday, at Ahlgrim & Sons Funeral Home, 330 W. Golf Road, Schaumburg, and continue with Mass at 11:30 a.m. at St. Hubert Church, 729 Grand Canyon Parkway, Hoffman Estates.
Born Dec. 7, 1925, in St. Paul, Minn., he died Wednesday, Feb. 24, 1999, in Cape Coral. Burial will be in St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine.
Mr. Scheppman was a 1944 graduate of St. Thomas High School in Rockford and aWorld War II veteran. He spent his career working in the garment industry in Minneapolis, Minn., Chicago and Hoffman Estates.
He was the beloved husband for 47 years of Lorraine Scheppman (nee Anderson); loving father of Owen (Nancy) Scheppman, Kevin Scheppman, Collette (Daniel) Scheppman-Sifrar and the late Michael Scheppman; proud grandfather of Owen Jr. and Kyle Scheppman, and Michael, Brian and Grayson Sifrar; and dear brother of Raymond Brill and Eileen Nielson.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today, at the funeral home.

Robert Terese of Elgin

Private services for Forrest `Bud' Charles Brunner, 76, were held at Diamond and Sons Silver Bell Chapel, Bullhead City, Ariz.
Born May 13, 1922, in Elgin, he died Friday, Feb. 12, 1999, in Bullhead City.
He was a veteran of World War II and retired from Bridgeport Harrig Products in Elgin after 22 years of service.

Mr. Collis was a Navy veteran of World War II and a former 20-year employee of Culligan Inc. of Northbrook.
He is survived by his son, James (Cheryl Davis) Collis of Arlington Heights. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eleanor C. Collis (nee Johnson), who passed away Oct. 13, 1993.
