Arline M. Mundy of St. Charles
Services for Arline M. Mundy, 75, will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, at Yurs Funeral Home, 405 E. Main St., St. Charles. Rev. William Nagy will officiate.
Born Feb. 18, 1924, in Chicago, she died Saturday, Feb. 20, 1999, at home.
Burial will be in Union Cemetery, St. Charles.
Arline graduated from Farragut High School in Chicago. She then went on to attend Bryant and Stratton Business College in Chicago. After graduation, she was employed with the U. S. Treasury Department in Chicago. She met her future husband, Bill Mundy in 1939, while attending the fair at the Littlewoods School in St. Charles. After dating for five years,Arline and Bill were married on Aug. 18, 1944, in Berwyn, Ill. Following their marriage, the couple moved to California, where Bill was stationed in the
Army. After the war, they moved back to St. Charles. A short time later, Arline went to work for River Bank Acoustical Laboratory in Geneva for 30 years. Her interests included gardening and traveling throughout the world. She and her husband have traveled to all seven continents, which consists of more than 80 countries and islands. Arline and Bill had presented more than 400 travel logs to many organizations in the Chicagoland area. Arline was known for her love of decorating at Christmas time.
She and Bill spent many hours decorating their home and entertaining with their friends over the holidays. She was a member of the Wayne Township Seniors and The Friends of Baker in St. Charles.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Bill; several cousins; and aunt, Elsie Kadlec of Chicago.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Mae Prusa.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today, at the funeral home.

Mary M. Olson of Des Plaines
Graveside services for Mary M. Olson (nee Kuhl), 78, will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, at Wataga Cemetery
in Wataga, Ill.
Born March 20, 1920, in Wataga, she died Saturday, Feb. 20, 1999, at Holy Family Hospital, Des Plaines.
Mrs. Olson was a homemaker and also an avid sports fan.
She was the beloved wife of the late Charles E. Olson; and loving mother of Richard L. Olson of Des Plaines and the late Patricia Ann Erickson.

Arthur C. Rock of Geneva
Funeral services for Arthur C. Rock, 80, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, at Malone Funeral Home, 324 E. State St., Geneva.
Born July 17, 1918, in Oak Park, the son of Edward C. and Mabel (nee Ihm), he died Saturday, Feb. 20, 1999, at Provena Geneva Care Center. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Geneva.
Mr. Rock was employed for many years as an accountant for Western Electric in Montgomery, Ill.
Survivors include his wife, Adele L. (nee Giebel); sons, Arthur C. (Shirley) of California, James K. (Karen) of Wheaton and Andrew T. (Dawn) of Geneva; grandchildren, James, Daniel, Michael, Julie, David, Christopher, Jeffrey, Megan, Anne, Thomas and Peter; sister, Dorothy Rock of Wheaton; brother, William C. (Leona) of Florida; and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Rock was preceded in death by his parents; son, John R.; and brother, Edward.

Robert L. Thomas of Elgin

Born Sept. 13, 1928, in Opelika, Ala., to Jesse and Martha Thomas, he died Wednesday, Feb. 17, 1999, at his home.

Mr. Thomas had been a resident of Elgin for more than 40 years and had been employed byNTN in Elgin before his retirement.
Survivors include his wife, Irene Miles Thomas; brothers and sisters, Sally Burns and Charlie, Marvin, Hattie and Fred Thomas; nephew, Charles Bullard; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives. He is also survived by a close friend, Lisa Cole.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Tommy Lee and Robert Thomas Jr.; one daughter; and brother, Jessie Thomas.

Elaine M. Vrandack of Crystal Lake
A memorial Mass for Elaine M. Vrandack, 71, formerly of Chicago and Elk Grove Village, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, at Sts. Peter and Paul Church, 410 First St., Cary.
Born April 14, 1927, in Chicago, the daughter of Joseph and Vera (nee Drabik) Polony, she died suddenly Sunday, Feb. 21, 1999, at Northern Illinois Medical Center, McHenry. Interment will be private.
Survivors include her children, Marianne Vrandack of Louisville, Colo., Laura (Thomas) Garvin of Cary and Frank Vrandack of Prospect Heights; grandchildren, Morgan Dryer, Meghan Garvin, Martha Garvin and Ellen Garvin; sister, Anne Bouda of Park Ridge; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Linda `Belinda' Vrandack; and brother, Joe Polony.

Harry W. Waters of Carpentersville
Services for Harry W. Waters, 76, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, at Miller Funeral Home, 504 W. Main St., West Dundee.

Born April 20, 1922, in Royalton, Ill., to William A. And Emma L. (nee Hardcastle) Waters, he died Sunday, Feb. 21, 1999, at his home. Burial will be in Dundee Township East Cemetery, East Dundee.
Mr. Waters had been a resident of Carpentersville since 1955. Prior to his retirement, he had worked for 38 years at Pepsi Cola where he was a regional sales manager. A veteran, he had served in the Navy during World War II and was an active member and former post officer of Dundee VFW Post 2298. Mr.
Waters was also a former Carpentersville police commissioner and police pension board member, and, in addition, had been a member of the Carpentersville Kiwanis Club. Harry was active in sports and quite a sports enthusiast.
Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Eleanor Waters (nee Osieczanek), whom he married Nov. 27, 1944; sons, Bruce Waters of Carpentersville and Rick (Janice) Waters of Crystal Lake; grandchildren, Daniel, Rex, Loni and Marni; great-granddaughter, Ashley; and sister, Dorcas Hansen of Skokie.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Rex, Lex, Landy, Lee and Jack; and sister, Bessie.

Daisy M. Weiler of Batavia
A funeral Mass for Daisy M. Weiler, 79, will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Batavia, where she will lie in state from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass.
Born March 9, 1919, in Belknap, Iowa, she passed away Saturday, Feb. 20, 1999, at Rush-Copley Medical Center, Aurora. Interment will be in River Hills Memorial Park, Batavia.
Mrs. Weiler was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Batavia. Prior to her retirement in 1974, she had worked for more than 30 years at Hawley Products in St. Charles. She enjoyed bowling, traveling and special times with her family and friends. Daisy will be dearly missed.
Surviving are her sisters, Alice Darner of Freemont, Iowa, Frances Stockman of Hemet, Calif., and Edith (Floyd) Saber of Dubuque, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her special friends, Geraldine `Geri' Reimers and Wallace `Wally' Reimers, both of Batavia.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Weiler, on Jan. 1, 1957.
