Michael Tobias Mostowski of Joliet
Services for Michael Tobias Mostowski, age 9 months, will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, at O'Connor & Homeier Funeral Home, 364 Division St., Elgin. The Rev. Michael Day will officiate.
Born April 21, 1998, in Joliet, he died Thursday, Feb. 11, 1999, in Joliet. Burial will be in Bluff City Cemetery.
Survivors include his mother, Michelle Mostowski of Joliet; maternal grandparents, John and Cheryl Mostowski of Elgin; aunts, Christina Mostowski of Hampshire and Kristy Rupczynski of Elgin; uncles, John Mostowski Jr. of South Elgin and Robert Rupczynski of Elgin; and cousin, Mason Kuttnauer of Hampshire.

Anne Benson Munroe formerly of Des Plaines
Services for Anne Benson Munroe, 97, of Savanna, Ill., also formerly of St. Petersburg, Fla., will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, at Oehler Funeral Home, 555 Lee St., Des Plaines. Reverend Virginia Ericson of the Christ United Church of Christ will officiate.
Born Dec. 2, 1901, in Mount Carroll, Ill., the daughter of Charles and Lydia (nee Lehr) Benson, she died Wednesday, Feb. 10, 1999, at Big Meadows Nursing Home in Savanna. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery, Oakbrook Terrace.
After graduation from Mount Carroll High School, she attended the Loveless Dressmaking and Tailoring School in Davenport, Iowa. She then went to Valparaiso University in Valparaiso, Ind.
She was in the banking business for 22 years in Chicago. Anne was a member of Emmaunel Lutheran Church in Maywood, and was very active teaching Sunday school for more than 25 years.
Anne married George Sutherland Munroe on Aug. 30, 1931. Anne moved from Illinois to St. Petersburg with her husband in Jan. 1967. She joined Redeemer Evangelical Lutheran Church and was active with their organization.
She had traveled extensively, going to the Holy Land twice, China and throughout Europe.
Anne's family includes her son, Rev. George (Arlene) Munroe of Corpus Christi, Texas; daughter, Anne (John) Hallotis of Savanna; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on March 8, 1975; two brothers; two sisters; and one grandchild.

John Peca
Prayers for John Peca, will be said at 10:15 a.m. Tuesday, at Salerno's Rosedale Chapels, 450 W. Lake St. (3/4 mile west of Bloomingdale/Roselle Rd.), Roselle. Mass will follow at 11:15 a.m. at St. Isidore Church. Entombment will be in Queen of Heaven Mausoleum.
He was the beloved husband of the late Charlotte (nee Dunajska); devoted father of Arlene (Rocky) Favia and the late Kenneth Peca; and fond grandfather of Rocky (Linda) and Charlene Favia.

Raymond J. Pettitt Sr. of Gurnee
Funeral services for Raymond J. Pettitt Sr., 61, will be held at 8 p.m. Tuesday, at Strang Funeral Chapel and Crematorium, Ltd., 410 E. Belvidere Rd., Grayslake. Rev. Bonnie Bjerning, chaplain at St. Therese Hospital in Waukegan, will officiate.
Born Oct. 8, 1937, in Lumberton, N. C., he passed away Friday, Feb. 12, 1999, at St. Therese Hospital in Waukegan. Interment will be private.
A resident of Gurnee for more than 20 years, he was a veteran of the Navy following the Korean War. He was employed with Fullerton Metals in Northbrook for more than 40 years.
He leaves his wife, Georgianna (nee Cole); daughter, Sandra (Joe)Nahas of Murrieta, Calif.; son, Raymond H. Pettitt Jr. of Gurnee; mother, Sallie Roscoe of Gurnee; grandchildren, Kimberly Roney, Thomas John and Kevin Pettitt, and Bridget and Matthew Nahas; great-granddaughter, Shyanne Roney; and stepbrothers, Don (Lisa) Cummings of McCall, S. C., and Travis Cummings and Terry Williams, both of Lumberton.
He was preceded in death by his stepfather, John L. Cummings.
Friends of the family may visit from 5 p.m. until the time of services Tuesday, at the funeral chapel.

Virginia Ramsdell of Arlington Heights
Private services for Virginia Ramsdell, 85, will be held Monday, at Stout-Madison Funeral Home, 252 S. State St., Elgin.
Born Feb. 22, 1913, in Chicago, she died Friday, Feb. 12, 1999, at Glenbridge Care Center in Niles. Private burial will be in River Hills Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband, Joseph Ramsdell of Arlington Heights; daughter, Linda (Bill) Slahor of Chicago; one granddaughter; and one great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. today, at the funeral home.

Suzanne Gail Raymond of McHenry
Services for Suzanne Gail Raymond, 47, formerly of Lake In The Hills, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, at Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, 404 N. Green St., McHenry. Rev. Roger Schneider will officiate.
Born Feb. 28, 1951, in Belvidere, Ill., the daughter of John A. and Mariellen (nee Stockwell) Neuman, she died Friday, Feb. 12, 1999, at Northern Illinois Medical Center in McHenry. Inurnment will be held at a later date in Woodland Cemetery, McHenry.
A resident of McHenry since 1985, Mrs. Raymond was raised in Scranton, Pa. and was a graduate of Ohio State University, obtaining her masters of science degree in education at Concordia University. She was employed as a teacher in Community Unit District #300 since 1976. For the last 16 years, she was physical education and health teacher at Carpentersville Middle School, where she served as physical education/health department chairperson. She also served on several committees and was an active member of the school community. Mrs. Raymond was well liked and greatly respected by all who knew and worked with her. She was a member of Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church, the National Education Association and Alpha Delta Phi sorority.
Survivors include her husband of 25 years, Benjamin, whom she married on Dec. 29, 1973, in Scranton; daughters, Laura S. Raymond and Emily E. Raymond, both at home; father and stepmother, John A. and Roe Neuman of Crystal Lake; brothers, John Neuman and Tom (Wendy Gates) Neuman, both of McHenry; grandmother, Erma George of Marengo; aunt and uncle, Sue and Don Loken of Rockford; uncle, Roger Stockwell of San Francisco, Calif.; two nieces; two nephews; and two cousins.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Mariellen Neuman.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and 10 to 10:45 a.m. Tuesday, at the church.
Suzanne loved her C. M. S. students and requested that the kids should receive something. Donations in lieu of flowers, may be made to Carpentersville Middle School, Student Activity Fund, 100 Cleveland Ave., Carpentersville, IL 60110.

Irene W. Safranek of Naperville
Services for Irene W. Safranek, 77, formerly of Chicago, will begin with prayers at 9:30 a.m. Monday, at Friedrich-Jones Funeral Home, 44 S. Mill St., Naperville, and continue with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Seton Church, 2220 Lisson Road, Naperville. The Rev. Ernest Norbeck will officiate.
Born Aug. 10, 1921, in Black River Falls, Wis., she died Friday, Feb. 12, 1999, at Edward Hospital. Interment will be in Queen of Heaven Cemtery, Hillside.
Mrs. Safranek had been a resident of Chicago for more than 75 years and had lived in Naperville for the past four years.
Surviving are her son, Joseph Safranek of West Graton, Vt.; daughters, Carolyn (Arthur) Torrance of Ripley, N. Y., Sharon Georges of Naperville and Annette (John) Krupinski of Naperville; sister, Ann Ristow of Oshkosh, Wis.; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Safranek, and daughter, Janice Safranek.
Visitation willbe from 2 to 9 p.m. today, at the funeral home.

George Savitzky of Round Lake Park
Services for George Savitzky, 81, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, at the Most Holy Mother of God Church in Third Lake.
Born Sept. 24, 1917, in Sevastopol, Russia, he passed away Friday, Feb. 12, 1999, at the Libertyville Manor. Interment will be in the church Cemetery, following the services.
Mr. Savitzky had moved to Yugoslavia in 1919, and was a military officer in the Yugoslavian Army during World War II. At one point held as a prisoner of war, he later served as a foreign officer for the U. S. Army under General Patton. In 1949, he moved to Brazil where he lived until coming to Chicago in 1958. He was a Round Lake Park resident for the past four years. Mr.
Savitzky was a member of the Holy Resurrection Serbian Orthodox Church in Chicago and the Holy Trinity Russian Orthodox Church in Des Plaines.
Surviving are his wife, Tatjana Savitzky of Round Lake Park and son, George D. (Ana) Savitzky of Chicago.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Nadine Savitzky, March 11, 1993; brother, Rostislav; and sister, Elena.

Marie Schwerdtfeger of Des Plaines
Services for Marie Schwerdtfeger (nee Moeger), 93, will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, at Matz Funeral Home, 410 E. Rand Road, Mount Prospect.
Born Oct. 6, 1905, in Germany, she died Thursday, Feb. 11, 1999, at Holy Family Health Care, Des Plaines. Burial will be in Irving Park Cemetery.
A homemaker, she was the beloved wife of the late Emil Schwerdtfeger; loving mother of John (Connie) Schwerdtfeger, Dolores (the late Edwin) Szymaniak and Irene Moore; cherished grandmother of Linda, James, Glenn (Sharon), Kristine(Frank) and Karin (Eric); and great-grandmother of Arnel.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. today, at the funeral home.

Betty Shults of Elgin
Private services for Betty Shults, 86, will be held at Madison Funeral Home, Elgin. Reverend Curt Gerald will officiate.
Mrs. Shults died Friday, Feb. 12, 1999, at Rosewood Health Care Center in Elgin. Private burial will be in Lakewood Memorial Park.
She was a graduate of St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing in 1934. She had been a nurse for Elgin National Watch and Simpson Electric.
Survivors include her daughter, Paula (Donald) Schmicker of Genoa; son, Ken (Annette) Shults of Elgin; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Dorothy Kendrick of Colorado; and brothers, Ernest DiPietro of Tennessee and Alfred (Mary) DiPietro of Texas.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Stanley in 1995; and two brothers.
There will be no visitation.

Lyle William Smith of Buffalo Grove
A memorial service for Lyle William Smith, 59, will be held at 8:30 p.m. Monday, at Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd. (four blocks south of Palatine Rd.), Arlington Heights. Chaplain Mary Grace Crowley will officiate.
Born Feb. 20, 1939, in Girard, Ill., he died Friday, Feb. 12, 1999, at Brentwood North in Riverwoods.
A 30-year resident of Buffalo Grove, he was employed for 38 years with United Airlines at the Elk Grove Village headquarters, as a marketing manager. Mr. Smith was a veteran of the Army.
He was the loving husband of Lynn (nee Stadell), whom he married on Sept. 25, 1965, at Southminster Presbyterian Church; dearest father of Lisa Smith of River Forest and Amy Smith of Buffalo Grove; fond brother of Dwight (late Pat) Smith of Salem, Ore., Milton (Janice) Smith of Virden, Ill. and the late Rita (late John) Monroe.
Memorial visitation will be from 4 p.m. until the time of services Monday, at the funeral home.
