She is survived by two sisters, Marian Densford, Green Valley, Ariz, Wanda Rotramel, Huntington Beach, Calif., several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two brothers, Carl and Wayne Rotramel.

DENNIS L. 'TINY' SPOTANSKI
Sesser - Dennis L. "Tiny" Spotanski, 53, Sesser, died at 9:15 p.m. Thursday, May 29, 2003, at Good Samaritan Regional Health Care Center in Mt. Vernon.
Funeral services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Monday, June 2 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Sesser with Father Steven Poole and Father Wilburt Iffert officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery in Sesser. Visitation will be held after 6 p.m. Sunday at Brayfield-Gilbert Funeral Home.
Mr. Spotanski was born May 4, 1950 in Christopher, the son of Leroy and Elaine (Harmon) Spotanski.
Mr. Spotanski worked for the Franklin County Highway Department, Freeman Coal and Consol Coal Co.
He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church.
Mr. Spotanski was a Hall of Fame member of the Sesser-Valier Outdoorsman Club.
He also served as a trustee for the Goode Township.
Mr. Spotanski is survived by his parents of Sesser; two children, Amy Spotanski and fiance, Kirk Tipton, Marco Island, Fla., and Todd Spotanski, Sesser; three nephews, Dennis Harris, Doug Harris and wife Tricia, Matt Spotanski and wife, Dawn; one niece, Tricia Higgins and husband, Barry; one brother, David Spotanski and wife, Anita, Waltonville and one sister, Vicki Kloepper and husband, Joe of Maryland.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials for Mr. Spotanski be given to the Sesser-Valier Outdoorsman Club and will be accepted at the funeral home.
NELLIE ANN ALEKSICK
Formerly of Zeigler - Nellie Ann (Mientus) Aleksick, 79, of Charlack, Mo., formerly of Zeigler, died at 11:45 a.m., Sunday, July 27, 2003, at the NHC Nursing Home in Maryland Heights, Mo.
Nellie was born October 1, 1923, in Zeigler to John Francis and Anna (Waido) Mientus, Sr., and attended grade school and graduated from the Zeigler High School.
She married Walter Jacob Aleksick June 7, 1947, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Zeigler. He preceded her in death March 22, 1977, after 29 years of marriage.
She is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law, Linda Marie and Rodney Ford of St. Louis, Mo., Mary Ann and Stephen Krekel of Creve Coeur, Mo., and Sharon Rose Ploof of St. Peters, Mo.; a son and daughter-in-law, John Walter and Tracy Aleksick of St. Charles, Mo.; 11 grandchildren, Randy Dean Ford, Jr., Kelly Marie Ford, Kevin Joseph Krekel, Kimberly Ann Morellie and her husband, Christopher, Kraig Matthew Krekel, Stacy Elizabeth Walter, Michael Christopher, Shelby Nicole, Brendan Kennedy, Sheridan Frances and Sydney Ann Aleksick; two great grandchildren, Kaleb Mikel Herbert and Jacob Christopher Morelli; and a brother, John Francis Mientus, Jr. of Herrin.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Walter Aloysius Mientus of Zeigler.
Nellie enjoyed being involved in her Senior Clubs: Elderberries of All Souls Catholic Church, American Legion Auxiliary of Zeigler; the VFW Post 3944; St. Ann Sodality of All Souls Catholic Church and was an active member of the Our Lady of Presentation Church of Overland, Mo. She enjoyed her family and traveling throughout her retirement.
Funeral services for Mrs. Aleksick will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 31, 2003, at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Zeigler with Father Joseph Trapp officiating. Interment will be at the St. Aloysius Catholic Cemetery east of Royalton. Visiting hours are from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Vantrease Funeral Home in Zeigler where a prayer service will be held at 6 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Mrs. Aleksick may be made to the American Heart Association, Diabetes Association or for Masses.
VIRGINIA E. SCHNEIDER
Benton - Virginia E. Schneider, 90, formerly of Metropolis, died at 4 a.m. Wednesday, July 23, 2003, at her daughter's home in Benton.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home, Metropolis, with the Rev. Wesley Osborn officiating. Burial will be in the Masonic Cemetery, Metropolis. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Hobbs-Johnson Funeral Home, Benton, and from 12 to 1 p.m. Friday at the Aikins-Farmer Funeral Home, Metropolis.
Mrs. Schneider was born Oct. 12, 1912, in Massac County, the daughter of Uriah and Hattie (Kidd) Sutherland. She married John Pearce Schneider, and he preceded her in death on Dec. 3, 2000.
After graduating from Southern Illinois University, she taught school in Metropolis and worked at the United Gas Company. She later became a housewife, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Metropolis, D.A.R., Women's Club, and the White Shrine.
She is survived by one daughter, Constance and husband Curt Gunter, Benton; five grandchildren, Laura Ann Fisher, Benton, Tina Lee Blaine, Metropolis, Kim Wilson, Benton, Jama Pickering, Elizabethtown, Susan Davis, Benton, and seven great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Schneider was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association and the First United Methodist Church, Metropolis.
She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
MARK SAILLY
Thompsonville - Mark Steven Sailly, 53, departed this life Sunday, July 20, 2003.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 23, in the Stone Funeral Home, West Frankfort, with the Rev. David Schlag officiating. Interment will be in the Harrison Cemetery, Buckner. Friends may call after 6 p.m. today, July 22, to the funeral home. Military graveside rites will be conducted by Orient American Legion and West Frankfort American Legion.

Mark was born on Sept. 2, 1949, in Christopher, a son of Gene and June L. (Parlett) Sailly.
He married Tami Caraway on Sept. 1, 1978, in West Frankfort.
He was an Army veteran serving in Vietnam, and was an electrician, having worked for Joy Manufacturing in Mt. Vernon and Technicolor Universal Multimedia Services in Pinckneyville.
He was also a member of UMWA and IBEW.
Mark also loved NHRA Drag Racing and fishing.
Survivors include his wife, Tami, of Thompsonville; daughter, Bobbi Sailly of Thompsonville; parents, Gene and June Sailly of West Frankfort; brother, Larry Sailly and wife Gail of Port Orchard, Wash.; sister, Janet McLean of Eau Claire, Wis.; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mark was loved by all, and will be dearly missed by those who knew him.
EVERETT ISAACS
Thompsonville - Everett Isaacs, 86, of Thompsonville died at 12:47 p.m. Sunday, July 20, 2003, at his home.
A funeral service is scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday, July 25, at the Sloan Funeral Home in Galatia, and will be officiated by the Rev. David Schlag. Burial will be at the Pleasant Valley Cemetery, West End. Visitation is from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, July 24, at the funeral home.
Mr. Isaacs was born June 22, 1917, the son of John Lewis and Julia Ann (Carter) Isaacs, in Thompsonville. He married Melinda (McClintock) Isaacs, and she preceded him in death on Nov. 17, 1986.
Mr. Isaacs was a farmer.
Survivors include six sons, Bennie, Everett L., Aden, Freddie, Justin and Kenny Isaacs, all of Thompsonville; four daughters, Rosie Gaither, Ruby Arview, Rhonda Murphy and Patricia Bowers, all of Thompsonville; 15 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, four brothers, eight sisters and two grandchildren.
ELVA LEONA CHEKEVDIA
Royalton - Elva Leona Chekevdia, 80, Royalton, died at 10 p.m., Sunday, July 13, 2003 at her home.
Elva was born April 25, 1923 in North Judson, Ind. to Ray Sanford and Dottie Mae (Tunis) Wilcox.
She married Frank "Chick" Chekevdia June 19, 1947 in Chicago. He preceded her in death June 16, 1990.
Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Charlotte and Morgan Murray of Royalton, Mary Hallmark of Muscle Shoals, Ala.; a son, Michael Chekevdia of Royalton; five sisters and three brothers-in-law, Lula Belle Fields, Edna and Monty Rance, Ida and Harold Budd and Carolyn Blankenship and Catherine and Donald Regalado and two brothers and a sister-in-law, Bill Wilcox and Bob and Betty Wilcox all of the North Judson, Indiana area; nine grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her parents and four brothers, Albert, Earl, Lester "Bud" and Ray Wilcox, Jr.
Elva was a member of the Holy Protection of the Virgin Mary Orthodox Church in Royalton and she was a homemaker.
Funeral services for Mrs. Chekevdia will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 16, 2003, at the Holy Protection of the Virgin Mary Orthodox Church in Royalton with Father George Gulin officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary's Orthodox Cemetery east of Royalton. Visiting hours are from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Orthodox Church at 112 S. Fairdale St. in Royalton.

EILEEN MATILDA SUMMERS
Benton - Eileen Matilda Summers, 83, died at 7:55 a.m. Monday, July 14, 2003 at the Franklin Hospital, Benton.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 16, 2003 at the Hobbs-Johnson Funeral Home, Benton with the Rev. Mark Minor officiating. Burial will be in the Knob Prairie Cemetery, Akin. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Summers was born Oct. 11, 1919, in Benton, the daughter of Frances and Ida (Rumbler) Warren. She married Denzil Summers on June 26, 1936 and he preceded her in death on May 15, 1993.
She was a housewife and of the Pentecostal faith. She enjoyed playing bingo and was a great mother and grandmother. She will be missed by all who knew her and loved her.
She is survived by eight children, Vernon Summers, St. Louis, Mo., Marion Coswell, Moody, Texas, Daniel Summers, St. Louis, MO, Betty Eubanks, Benton, Larry Summers, Benton, Linda Brayfield, Benton, James Summers, Benton, Barbara Walton, Benton, sixteen grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Summers was preceded in death her parents, husband, a brother, Charles Warren, a sister, Ethel Carter, and an infant sister.

GERALD LEE RICE
Benton - Gerald Lee Rice, 61, went to meet his maker at 11:20 p.m. Sunday, July 13, 2003 at the Veteran's Affairs Medical Center, Marion.
Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 16, 2003 at the Hobbs-Johnson Funeral Home, Benton. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. His body will be cremated.
Mr. Rice was born Aug. 1, 1941 in Benton, the son of Clifford and Eloise (Adams) Rice.
He was a retired coal miner and a member of the U.M.W.A. He served his country as a U.S. Army veteran during the Vietnam War and was of the Baptist faith. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and was a Benton Ranger fan. He was a loving father and will be dearly missed by his family.
He is survived by two daughters, Cyndi Jones, Christopher, Leighann Rice, Killeen, Texas, a son, Kevin Brookhouse, Carterville, two grandchildren, Anya Rice, Christopher, Sara Gosnell, Monteagle, Tenn. and a brother, Dennis Rice, Benton.
Mr. Rice was preceded in death by his parents, and two sisters, Joyce Smith and Cheryl Lynn Rice.
Memorials may be made to the Disabled American Veterans and will be accepted at the funeral home.
