Delores J. Berna of McHenry
Funeral Mass for Delores J. Berna, 57, will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, at St. John the Baptist Church in Johnsburg.
Born Jan. 2, 1942, in Chicago, the daughter of Robert and Dorothy (nee Lilly) Lee, she died Monday, Feb. 8, 1999, at Rochester Methodist Hospital in Rochester, Minn. Intermentwill be in Windridge Memorial Park, Cary.
Mrs. Berna, formerly a resident of Elgin, had lived in McHenry for the past 30 years. For the majority of her career, she was a mortgage banker, and was owner of All American Mortgage in Crystal Lake prior to retiring. She was a volunteer for the Hospice of Northeastern Illinois and a member of St. John the Baptist Church in Johnsburg.
She is survived by James R. Berna, her husband of 39 years, whom she married Sept. 12, 1959; daughters, Julie Berna of Algonquin and Jill Berna of Phoenix, Ariz.; son, James (Eileen) Berna of Johnsburg; grandsons, Jonathan and Michael Berna; brothers, Dale Lee of McHenry and Robert Lee of Sarasota, Fla.
Shewas preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today, at George R. Justen and Son Funeral Home, 3519 W. Elm St., McHenry.

Annabel Mary Berthelsen formerly of Streamwood
A funeral Mass for Annabel Mary Berthelsen, of Versailles, Mo., will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Elgin. Rev. Dominic Cassidy will officiate.
Born April 22, 1905, in Chicago, the daughter of George A. and Dauphine (nee Carr) Schaller, she died Sunday, Feb. 7, 1999, at Good Shepherd Care Center in Versailles. Burial will be in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Alsip.
She attended St. Xavier Academy in Ottawa, Ill. and St. Xavier College. She was a former coordinator and member of the Streamwood Park District's Golden Ager Club.
Survivors include her son, Donald E. (Dorothy) Berthelsen of Climax Springs, Mo.; brother, Daniel C. (Susan) Schaller of Las Vegas, Nev.; grandchildren, Anne (William) Surerus of Elgin, Kathleen (David) Coy of Hanover Park, David A. (Dova) Berthelsen of Murrysville, Pa., Kevin C. (Sheila) Berthelsen of Kansas City, Kan., Andrew P. (Kelly) Berthelsen of Olathe, Kan., Eric E. (Roshel) Berthelsen of Eudora, Ks. and Andrea (Philip) Mudd of Cedar Hill, Texas; and great-grandchildren, Jessica Coy, Michael Surerus, Jacob Coy, Daniel Berthelsen, Allison Surerus, Bryce Berthelsen, Amy Berthelsen, Alex Berthelsen, Ana Berthelsen, Sam Elliott Berthelsenand Katelyn Mudd.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Irving B. Berthelsen in 1969, whom she married Aug. 13, 1927; sons, Irving B. Berthelsen Jr. and Donald E. Berthelsen; sisters, Violet Schaller, Velma Schallerand Della Nelson; and brother, G. Lee Schaller.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the time of the Mass Friday, at the church.

Theodore Cohen of Palatine
Theodore Cohen, 82, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 9, 1999.

Korean War, Mr. Cohen achieved the rank of Chief Warrant Officer Grade 4, also
Army Civil Servant, retiring in 1973. He was a former employee of Railway Mail.
He is survived by Georgia Lebeda, and was the loving brother of Shirley (Irving) Herring; fond brother-in-law of Catherine Mitchelland Sister Lydia Mitchell; and dear uncle of several nieces and nephews.

Armand B. Ferrara of Arlington Heights

Born July 22, 1918, in Chicago, Mr. Ferrara died Friday, Feb. 5, 1999, at Northwest Community Healthcare.
Retired after many years as a writer/editor with CBI Industries, he was the husband of 56 years of the late Frances A. (nee Cartwright); children, David (Kitty) Ferrara of Wisconsin, Diane (Lee) Stanley of Rolling Meadows and Donna (Thomas) Hoppe of Iowa; brother of Eugene Ferrara, Vincent Ferrara and Adele Carlberg; grandfather of Gina, Christi, Lynda, Nancy, Jennifer, Jeffrey, Jason, Joseph, Jeremy, Jessica, Nathan, Lucas, Jacob and Kate; and great-grandfather of Brett, Garrett and Lauren.

Mildred N. Flack of Batavia
Funeral services for Mildred N. Flack, 93, a resident of The Holmstad in Batavia, will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Batavia. The Rev. Mark A. Nilson will officiate.
Born Jan. 21, 1906, in Berwyn, the daughter of Axel G. and Matilda (nee Gustafson) Nelson, she passed away Monday, Feb. 8, 1999, at the Michealsen Health Care Center in Batavia. Interment will be in Mount Auburn Memorial Park in Stickney, Ill. She will lie in state from noon until the time of services.
Mrs. Flack was a member of Batavia Evangelical Covenant Church.
She is survived by her nieces, Betty Nelson of Chicago; nephews, Charles (Anne) Nelson of Croton-On-Hudson, N. Y., John (Nancy) Nelson of Chapel Hill, N. C., Arthur (Laurel) Nelson of Chicago and Walter Stoneham of Berwyn; and many great-nieces, -nephews and dear friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Flack, whom she married in 1958 at Douglas Park Evangelical Covenant Church; and brothers, Arthur and Martin Nelson.

James R. Glacking of Libertyville
Services for James R. Glacking, 70, will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, at Burnett-Dane Funeral Home, 120 W. Park Ave. (Route 176), Libertyville.
Born April 23, 1928, in Waterman, Ill., he passed away Sunday, Feb. 7, 1999, at his home. Interment will be in Lakeside Cemetery, following the services.
A former resident of Batavia, Mr. Glacking had lived in Libertyville for the past 22 years. He was a graduate of Batavia High School and Northern Illinois University, and was employed as a teacher in Downers Grove and at the Latin School in Chicago, finally retiring in 1983 from Elementary School District 67 in Lake Forest.
Jim was also a certified genealogist and wrote columns on genealogy for a Kentucky newspaper as well as several family genealogy books. He was a member of the Honorary Order of Kentucky Colonels, the Libertyville-Mundelein Historical Society, Sons of the American Revolution, the Pilgrim Doty Society, Barons of the Magna Carta and Sons of the Kentucky Pioneers. He was also a former director of the Young Artists Competition of the North Suburban Symphony in Lake Forestand was a former president of the North Suburban Symphony Board.
Surviving are his wife, Marjorie Glacking (nee Straub) of Libertyville; brother, William Glacking of Joliet; and nieces and nephews, Michael (Becky) Straub of RockFalls, Christine (Keith) Anderson of Rockford and Mark (Ann) Straub of Elkhorn, Wis.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Gertrude (nee Fossand) Glacking.

Mrs. Gorkawas a resident of Naperville since 1958 and had worked as a children's librarian at the Nichols Library. She attended St. Raphael Church and enjoyed sewing and reading.
She is survived by her husband, Andrew J. Gorka of Naperville; son, Andrew J. Gorka Jr. of Philadelphia, Pa.; daughter, Patricia Kromminga of Savanna, Ga.; and grandchildren, Nathan Carl and Andrea Jane Kromminga, both of Savannah.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Carl F. and Florence May; and brother, Richard May.
