Pearl Jean Campbell
Declo - Pearl Jean Campbell, 79, of Boise, formerly of Declo, died Saturday, June 12, 2004, at Life Care Center in Boise.
She was born April 3, 1925, in LaPorte, Indiana, the daughter of William Robert and Pearl Edna Tole Stewart.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda (Frank) Castello of Kuna; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one brother, Jack Stewart of Costa Rica.
At her request, she will be cremated. Urn placement will be next to her husband at the Fernley Cemetery
in Fernley, Nev.
Funeral arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Rasmussen Funeral Home, Burley.
Virginia Surrage Caldwell
Heyburn - Janet Virginia Surrage Caldwell was born on July 10, 1913, in Ogden, Utah, and passed away in Shawnee, Okla., on June 10, 2004, at the age of 90.
Virginia was the daughter of Charles W. and Charlotte Sheppard Surrage. She graduated from Albion State Normal School and finished at Southern Idaho College of Education with a BA in elementary education.
She taught school for 30 years in Idaho, Washington and California, retiring in 1973. Virginia served as a clerk in the United States Army WAC during World War II.
She volunteered at libraries and Veteran's hospitals and also enjoyed sewing, crocheting and knitting.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jess Ray Caldwell; one sister, Charlotte "Lottie" Peterson; and a son stepson, Stephen Caldwell.
Survivors include, three stepsons and their spouses, Wayne and Donna Caldwell of McKinnleyville, California, Rodney and Vickie Caldwell of Shawnee, Oklahoma, and Greg and Nancy Caldwell of Florida; five sisters, Ordema Knobel, Charlene Cooper, Melba McCombs, Irene Phillips, and Genevieve Hellewell; two grandchildren, Christina Carter and Jeremy Caldwell; and one great-grandson, Cole Caldwell.
The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 17, 2004, at the Rasmussen Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th St., Burley. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery
with military rites under the direction of local veterans.
A visitation for family and friends will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, and one hour prior to the funeral on Thursday at Rasmussen Funeral Home.
David Jay Brown
Gooding - David Jay Brown, a well-respected farmer and member of his community, passed away unexpectedly at his home on June 10, 2004. He was 54.
David was born Feb. 26, 1950, in Burley. He was the oldest of five children born to Jay and Marie Brown. He was raised in both Burley and Gooding. He graduated from Gooding High School in 1968 where he excelled in basketball, golf and FFA. He attended Ricks College, Boise State University and Utah State University eventually going on to pursue his passion of farming and ranching. He married the love of his life, Debra Fuller, on June 15, 1973, and they were sealed for time and all eternity in the Logan LDS Temple. They were blessed with three daughters, Sarah, Hilary and Ashlee.
Along with farming, David loved playing softball, playing on both men's and co-ed teams. He was also an avid supporter of his daughters' numerous activities. As a winter pastime, David officiated high school basketball games. David was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in many callings, but found the greatest joy in serving as the Branch President of the Gooding LDS Deaf Branch.
David always had a knack for making people laugh and will be greatly missed by all.
He is survived by his wife, Debbie Brown; their children, Sarah, Hilary and Ashlee; brothers and sisters: Dean (La Deane) Brown of Jerome, Catherine (Robert) Smith of Blackfoot, Reed (Leslie) Brown of Jerome and Marlene (Eric) Malm of Payson, Utah. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jay and Marie Brown.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Monday June 14, 2004, in the Gooding LDS Chapel, 1228 Main St., Gooding, with President Roger Cheney officiating. A visitation for David will be held on Sunday, June 13, 2004, at Farnsworth Mortuary, 1343 South Lincoln, Jerome, where family and friends may call from 6-8 p.m., and again at the church one hour prior to the services on Monday in Gooding. Interment will follow in the Gooding Elmwood Cemetery.
George Freitas Bellem
George Freitas Bellem, 80- year-old Paul resident, devoted husband to Mary, loving Father of ten children, went peacefully home to Jesus surrounded by his entire family on June 10th, 2004, at St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center.
He was born in Twin Falls, Idaho to Fernando Freitas and Maria Ceo Pascoal Bellem on December 1, 1923. He led a very active and adventurous life, gifted with wisdom and a special love of learning. George graduated from Jr. High and High School as Valedictorian of his class. He married Mary Freiburger on Nov. 23, 1950, at St Nicholas Catholic Church where he was an active member until his passing.
Farming north of Paul until his retirement, he was also an avid hunter and fisherman, loved camping, exploring, gardening, berry picking, wine making, and anything to do with the outdoors. He was an active member of the Snake River Trail Riders Association and the NRA. In his retirement years, his love of travel took them all over the western United States and Mexico. His four wheeler was the cycle of choice for exploring off road areas.
George left this life as he lived it with strength of character, courage and dignity. Loving and laughing until the beginning of his eternal life with Christ. We have not lost a husband, father, grandfather, friend; heaven has gained a good and faithful servant!
George is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary; his children Chris (CJ) Fisher of Eagle Id, Carol Main of Boise, Linda (John) Bellem-Kraus of Pittsburgh, Pa., Mary (Tom) Reeves of Rupert, Diana (Roger) Nebeker of Emmett, Georgia (Joe) Tate of Rupert, John Bellem (Judith Hope Faye) of Good Year, Ariz., Julie (Neil) Jorgensen of Bozeman, Mont., Lisa (Ross) Corless-Negu of Ucon, JoAnn (Brad) Schell of Paul; one sister, Alice Craven of Paul; one brother-in-law, Art Moncher of Paul; one sister-in-law Lillian Bellem Heinrich of Rupert; 23 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Clarence Bellem; one sister, LaRena Moncher; and one son-in-law, Randy Corless.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center Foundation (Infectious Disease Department), in memory of George Bellem.
Rosary and Vigil will be held Sunday, June 13, 2004, at 7 p.m. at Rupert St. Nicholas Catholic Church, 802 F St., Memorial Mass service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 14, 2004, at 11 a.m. at the church with Father Gabriel Vargas as Celebrant. Interment will be in the Paul Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Hansen Mortuary Rupert Chapel.
MYRTLE VIBBERT BEAN
Myrtle Vibbert Bean, 82, of Rupert, passed away Saturday at Magic Valley Regional Medical Center surrounded by her family.
Myrtle was born to Charles Vibbert and Myrtie Sartain Vibbert May 17, 1922, at Darlington, Ind. She moved with her family to Idaho in 1927 and married Cleve Franklin Bean Feb. 20, 1941. The couple raised six children: Gerald Bean, who is deceased, Marilyn (Allen) Tuma, Dennis Bean, Duane Bean, Garth Bean of Rupert and Max (Linda) Bean of Burley.
Daughter-in-law Marcella Bean was also a close member of the family.
She has 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was proceeded in death by her two brothers Orville Vibbert of Lehi, Utah and Raymond Vibbert, of Rupert, two sisters Beulah Lowder of Homedale and Chloe Baigrie of Middleton, her son Gerald and grandson Cory.
In addition to her five surviving children she is survived by three sisters: Verda Stuart of Caldwell, Marion Bingham of Burley and Mary Alice Franks of Pendleton, Ore.
Myrtle loved horseback riding and gardening.
She was an active member of the L.D.S. Church Rupert 10th Ward as a counselor in the Relief Society, a Primary teacher and the Stake Singles assistant. She was also a member of the Homemakers Club. She served as President of Heyburn High School Alumni, Secretary of Big Bend School Alumni and President of Old Settlers Association.
Myrtle operated a rest home in Rupert for 14 years.
She rode seven years with the Minidoka Wranglers and was Grandma Queen of the Minidoka County Fair and Rodeo.
Lee Bartholomew
Oakley - Alonzo Lee Bartholomew, 94, of Oakley, died Thursday, June 10, 2004, at his home.
He was born Oct. 28, 1909, in Basin, Cassia County, Idaho, the son of Bert LeRoy and Mary Ellen Tracy Bartholomew. He rode a horse or would walk several miles to attend the Warm Creek School. Lee and his sister, Alta, fed up to 100 lambs by bottle and Lee milked cows also, before and after school. Lee left the ranch to be on his own when he was 14-years-old and started his career as a rancher and sheepherder.
His adult life included marriage to Iris Jarvis. They had two children. He later married June Palmer and they had five children. He met and married Rachel Poulton Hale Judd on Jan. 1, 1973, in Elko, Nev., and helped raise her eight children by working as a ranch hand and sheepherder in the South Hills for Pickett's Ranch.
Memories from his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren all include his hard work, love for fishing and camping and his gentle teaching ways. He taught the importance of always being honest, and would give of himself when he saw someone in need.
He raised a large garden in Oakley every year after he retired, and willingly shared garden produce with friends and family.
He was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on July 6, 1918, in the Snake River in the Jackson District of Cassia County.
He is survived by his wife, Rachel of Oakley; his children, Lila (Ernie) Henson of Big Lake, Alaska, Jeri Le Mai of Scottsdale, Ariz., Alta Lee (Jay) Holstine of Jerome, Carma June (Vern) Buss of Kimberly, Rita Fern (Ardel) Simper of Lyn, Utah, Leon Bartholomew of Rupert, Pamelia (DeVaughn) Jenks of Oakley, Lucille (Kirby) Jones of Pasco, Wash., Ernie Ray (Lyn) Hale and Karlene (Randy) Hardy both of Oakley, Susan Porietis of Pocatello, and Marvin Hale, Alan (Lynette) Hale, and Jennie Hale all of Oakley; his siblings, Alta Lowry of Rupert, Thelma Stott of Burley, Dorothy Loveless of Garland, Utah, Hazel May of Paul, and Delores May of Ducktown, Tenn.; 40 grandchildren; and 37 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; and four sisters; an infant daughter, Bonnie Rae Bartholomew; a son-in-law, Lawrence Jenks; and a daughter-in-law, Judy Hale.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 16, 2004, at the Oakley Stake Center of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 301 N. Center, with Bishop Randy Hardy officiating. Burial will be in Oakley Cemetery.
A visitation for family and friends will be held from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday, at Rasmussen Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th St., Burley, and from 10 until 10:45 a.m. Wednesday, at the church.
Michael Gil Aguero
Michael Gil Aguero, l9, died Sunday, June 6, 2004 from injuries sustained in a car accident.
He was born in Burley on Nov. 14, 1984, and moved to Irving, Texas, as an infant. He moved to Grand Prairie as he was beginning elementary school. He was a graduate of South Grand Prairie High School Class of 2003 and was a college student at Tarrant County Community College, Michael was an avid Ice Hockey player.
A prayer vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Bean Massey Burge Funeral Chapel, Grand Prairie, Texas.
Mass of Christian Burial will occur at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Grand Prairie with burial to follow in Southland Memorial Park.

Survivors include his mother and step father, Rosie and Leonard Ramirez of Grand Prairie, Texas; father, Herman Aguero of Burley; one step sister and one step brother; maternal grandfather, Joe Almanza Sr., of Grand Prairie, Texas, paternal grandparents: Macario and Julia Aguero of Burley; and several aunt, uncles, cousins and friends.
