JUAN GUERRY
Juan Guerry, 76-year-old Burley resident died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2004, at his home in Burley.
He was born Oct. 29, 1928, in Vizcaya, Spain, the son of Juan Maria Garroguerricaechevarria and Sebastiana Anchia.
He attended school in Spain.
Juan moved to Castleford in 1948 and in 1954 he moved to Burley, where he worked for McCray Sheep Company.
In 1962, Juan and his brother, Justo purchased a farm north of Paul, where they farmed until 1994.
Juan was a member of the Catholic Church.
Survivors include a sister, Miren Garroguerricaechevarria and her husband, Julian Larrinaga; a niece, Inmaculada Larrinaga and her husband, Kepa Ajuria; and a nephew, Javier Larrinaga, all of Spain.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Alejandro, Antonio, and Justo.
A Vigil Service will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 5, 2004, at the Little Flower Catholic Church, in Burley.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 6, 2004, at the Little Flower Catholic Church, with Father Juan Garatea, as celebrant.
The family suggests memorials be given to the American Cancer Society, 2425 West 25th Dr. in Burley or the Leukemia Society, 600 N. Curtis Road in Boise.
Harold F. Vogt
Harold Francis Vogt passed away in the early morning hours on Nov. 22, 2004 at Cassia Regional Medical Center in Burley of natural causes.
Harold was born on Aug. 18, 1920, in Bates County Missouri to C. Fred Vogt and Frances Nee Rapp.
He was the second born son.
He was baptized at Zion Lutheran Church in Prairie City, Missouri in 1920.
He was confirmed into the communicate body of Zion Lutheran Church of the Missouri Synod on April 9, 1933.
He attended Zion Lutheran Parochial School through the eighth grade, Bates County high school in 1934-35, then, the family moved to Heyburn in 1935, and graduated from Heyburn High School in the Class of 1937.
Harold loved all sports especially baseball and was always a St. Louis Cardinal fan.
He played American Legion Baseball in Burley and was a member of 1937 Burley American Legion State Champion team that qualified for the Northwest Regional Championship Tournament in Yakima, Wash.
He also played semi-pro ball for several years.
Harold coached in the Heyburn Recreation Department Little League Baseball, Babe Ruth Baseball, and women ASA softball.
He was the greatest fan for all his children and grandchildren.
Harold married Margaret Christine Schulz on June 21, 1942, and was faithfully married for 62 years.
Harold farmed in the Heyburn area over 40 years and raised four children with Margaret.
Harold's survivors are: his wife of 62 years, Margaret; four children, daughter Judy (Henry) Colvin, Globe, Ariz.; sons Stanley (Peggy) Vogt, Pocatello, Kevan (Abbie) Vogt of Rupert and daughter Mary Vogt, Boise, grandchildren, Katy (Nick) Jensen, Elizabeth Vogt, Jessica (Tory) Garcia, Chris (Jackie) Colvin, Patrick (Connie) Colvin, Wendy Earven, Angela (Kenneth) Buchanan, Adam John Vogt, and Cody Jamas Vogt, and 10 great grandchildren, one sister-in-law Margaret Volka, Arcadia, Calif., and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother, Frances, father, Fred and brother, Alvin.
Our father had a great sense of humor. He will continue to make our hearts smile.
We are truly proud of our father, husband, grandfather, and great grandfather and he will remain in our hearts forever.
The family expresses a special thank you to all the doctors and nurses at Cassia Regional Medical Center for their kindness and gratefulness in their treatment and care for him.
Funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Friday Nov. 26, 2004 at Zion Lutheran Church in Burley with Pastor Michael Donnan officiating.
Burial will follow at the Rupert Cemetery. Friends may call on hour prior to the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials a charitable contribution to the American Diabetes Association or Zion Lutheran Church in Burley, or charity of choice.
Paulette Marie Henkle-Yarbrough
Funeral services for Paulette Marie Henkle-Yarbrough, 56, of Oklahoma City, Okla., will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2004, in The Rock Assembly of God Church, 12500 Sough Pennsylvania, Oklahoma City, Okla.
Paulette we born Aug. 4, 1948, in Sidney, Neb., the daughter of Ralph and Maxine (Knapp) Henkle.
She passed away Friday morning, Nov. 19, 2004, at her home.
She was raised in Sidney, Okla., where she attended public schools, graduating from Sidney High School in 1966.
Paulette was later united in marriage to Gary Yarbrough on June 7, 1968, in Sidney.
Paulette and Gary later moved to Burley where she was employed by DL Evans Bank an Cassia Memorial Hospital.
They moved to Oklahoma City in 1995 where Paulette began a career with BankOne, remaining with them until her death.
Paulette was a strong supporter of breast cancer and could always be seen with her husband Gary.
They enjoyed their time together immensely and were rarely apart from one another.
Paulette was a kind and loving individual who always maintained a joyful and positive outlook on life.
She was always caring for others before caring for herself, a quality she kept until her illness kept her from doing so. Her absence will be felt by many family members and close friends.
Survivors include her husband Gary; one son, Steven W., of Dallas; one daughter, Stacey Marie, of Norman, Okla.; her mother, Maxine Wilson of Jones, Okla.; her father, Ralph Henkle and his wife Lois, of Sidney., Neb.; two brothers, Daniel Henkle of Longmont, Colo., and David Henkle of Jones, Okla.; one sister, Carol Arellano, of Sidney, Neb., her maternal grandmother, Alice Knapp, of Sidney., Neb.; and her pet dog, Oscar.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Marvin Henkle; her paternal grandparents and her maternal grandfather, Ray Knapp.
The family will greet friends of Paulette on Monday evening, Nov. 22, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Resthaven Funeral Home, 500 SW 104th, in Oklahoma City.
Burial will conclude in the Jones City Cemetery
in Jones, Okla., under the direction of Resthaven Funeral Home.
Duane J. Skinner
Duane J. Skinner, 79, died Nov. 26, 2004, at Cassia Regional Medical Center, Burley.
Duane was born May 27, 1925, in Greenwood, Millard County, Utah, to James Edward and Lenola Dutton Skinner.
He was the eldest of five children and grew up in Fielding, Utah, where he attended school at Bear River and later joined the United States Navy as a Radarman during WWII.
In 1960 he married Dona Fae Edwards Peterson and was an instant father to Dona's five children. Subsequently, one more child was born and their marriage was later solemnized in the Idaho Falls temple. Duane and Dona raised their six children in Rupert.
As an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Duane served as Scout Master in the Rupert Third ward and 2nd counselor in the bishopric. Duane's idea of a day well spent was catching fish and spending time with his grandchildren.
He loved the outdoors and looked forward to hunting with his wife.
Duane worked on the construction crew laying the groundwork for Interstate 84.
He was a retired employee of the Amalgamated Sugar Company working as beet end foreman and was known for supplying men with tools when they could not afford their own.
Duane is survived by his wife Dona Fae, and children Denise (C.Will) Rayburn, Theressa (David) Dalling, Dawn (Michael) Pebley, Barry (Rexanne) Peterson, Crystal (Dave) Ross and Carla (Jeff) Carson, 24 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
He also is survived by his sisters Elaine Swope, Betty (Ray) Winn, and Barbara (Jim) Morris.
Duane was preceded in death by his parents James Edward and Lenola Dutton Skinner, one brother William Dale Skinner, and one grandchild Michael Dean Ross.
Funeral services will be held Nov. 30, 2004, at 11 a.m. in the Rupert Third Ward chapel located at 526 South F. Street.
Friends may call on the family Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Rupert Hansen Mortuary or one hour prior to service.
Internment will be at Sunny Cedar Rest Cemetery
in Almo.
Douglas James Robbins
Douglas James Robbins, a 45-year-old Burley resident, passed away Dec. 1, 2004, at Cassia Regional Medical Center.
Doug was born July 9, 1959, in Burley to Keith James and Donna Rae Robbins.
He attended schools in Burley. He married Terri Sumrow Aug. 26, 1977, at the Paul First Baptist Church.
Doug worked for several of the local grocery stores, including Safeway, Smith's, since 1986, and he also helped out at Farmers Corner as a meat cutter, and in produce.
He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting, woodworking, painting and drawing.
He is survived by his wife, Terri Robbins of Burley; his two children, Lacie Robbins, and Eric (Azure) Robbins both of Burley; eight siblings, Linda (Robert) Long of Burley, Diane Matsen of Rupert, Raymond Robbins of Twin Falls, Anna (Glen) Kolber of North Dakota, Brenda (Jeff) Chirst of Burley, Kenneth Robbins of Burley, Pauline (Bart) Adams of Albion, and Harold (Kim) Robbins of Winnemucca, Nev.; a half-brother, Ronald Robbins, Salt Lake City; a half-sister, Susan Kehm, Birmingham, Wash., his uncle, Richard (Linda) Anderson of Oakley; his mother and father-in-law, Lynn and Helen Haynes of Paul.
He loved and cherished his grandchildren, and they adored him.
He will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death his mother and father.
Funeral services will 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 4, 2004, at the Hansen Mortuary Burley Chapel 321 East Main with Pastor John Ziulkowski officiating.
Friends may call Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. at Hansen Mortuary Burley Chapel and one hour prior to the service on Saturday.
Burial will follow at the Paul Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be made to the American Heart Association or the American Cancer Society.
Rita Palomo
OGDEN, Utah - Rita Palomo, 68, died Saturday, Nov. 27, 2004 in Ogden, Utah.
She was born July 29, 1936 in Tampico, Mexico, a daughter of Guadalupe De Los Reyes and Guadalupe Gutierrez.
She married Valentin Palomo in 1951 in Texas. He died June 26, 2001.
Rita was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Ogden, Utah.
Hobbies included playing bingo and her family.
Surviving are five sons and five daughters, Juan Palomo, Ogden, Utah; Roberto Palomo, Burley; Pablo Palomo, Boise; Valentin Palomo Jr., Nampa; and Miguel Palomo, Houston, Texas. Dora Silguero, Alamo, Texas; Lupe Palomo, Diana Palomo, and Sylvia Palomo, all of Ogden, Utah; Susana Luna, Palmetto, Fla.; 39 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, one daughter Jesusa Ortega, and one son, Ruben Palomo.
Funeral Mass will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church, 514 - 24th Street Ogden, Utah.
Friends may call at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., Ogden, Utah, on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. where Holy Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m.
Interment will take place at the Rupert Cemetery
at a later date.
