Thomas Arthur Fairchild
POCATELLO - Thomas Arthur Fairchild, 78, passed away Friday, March 25, 2005, at Portneuf Medical Center, due to complications of lung disease. He was born July 29, 1926, in Burley, Idaho, to Ella (Pope) and Thomas A. Fairchild, Sr.
At the age of eighteen, Tom met the love of his live, Ruth Juanita Ferguson. He and Ruthie were married on March 28, 1945.
Throughout Tom's life, he was involved in television and radio. In the late 50's, he was the weatherman for KID TV. He also owned various radio stations throughout his career.
Tom loved playing the guitar and singing with his sisters. He was an avid reader and looked forward to attending his family reunions each year. Tom made friends easily and was loved by all who knew him. He was especially close to his health care aides, Sarah and Tina.
Tom is survived by his two sons, Doug (Jan) Fairchild, Denver, CO, and Ron (KayLynn) Fairchild, Pocatello; seven grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and four sisters, Teeny, Nelda, Darlene (Roy), and Myrna (Denny). He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, and a sister.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, March 30, 2005, at the Chubbuck LDS Stake Center, corner of Hawthorne and James. Viewings will be held on Tuesday, March 29, from 7 to 9 PM at Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. 4th Ave and Wednesday, March 30 from 9 to 9:45 AM at the church. Burial will follow at the Kohlerlawn Cemetery in Nampa, Idaho. Arrangements are under the direction of Colonial Funeral Home, 2005 S. 4th Ave, Pocatello. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made at any Key Bank Location.

Eloisa Garza Espinoza
RUPERT - Eloisa Garza Espinoza, a 76-year-old Rupert resident, passed away March 27, 2005, at Minidoka Memorial Hospital.
Eloisa was born July 27, 1928, to Alberto Garza and Julia Torres in Waelder, Texas. She met her future husband, Gabino Espinoza in 1945. On March 29, 1948, they married through the Justice of the Peace in Edinburg, Texas. The following year, February 13, 1949, they married through the church at St Joseph's Catholic Church in Lubbock, Texas. They were married 2 days short of 57 years. She worked for 18 years at Simplots. She co-founded the Guadalupana Society at the St Nicholas Church in 1974 and was a head start grandmother 2002-2003 at the Rupert location. She enjoyed Spanish Soap Operas.
Eloisa is survived by her husband, Gabino; her children, Linda E. (Larry) Reynolds of Camas, WA, Margie (Michael, deceased) Stephenson of San Diego, Calif., Israel (Beth) Espinoza of Meridian, Vivian (Doug) Gallahger of Temecula, Calif., Domingo Espinoza of Rupert, Lorrie (Stephen) Espinoza-Swem of Idaho Falls, Connie Patton of The Dalles, Ore., Marty (Nancy) Espinoza of Jerome, and Teresa Espinoza of Idaho Falls; 12 grandchildren; one sister and three brothers.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson; one son-in-law; one brother; and one sister.
A funeral Mass will be held 11 a.m. March 31, 2005, at Rupert St Nicholas Catholic Church, 802 F St., with Father Gabriel Vargas as celebrant. Burial will follow at the Rupert Cemetery.
A visitation will be held from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesday with a recitation of the Rosary at 7:30 p.m.
Arrangements are under the direction of Hansen Mortuary Rupert Chapel.

Allison Camille Allen
Allison joined our Heavenly Father March 23, 2005, in Denver, Colo., while waiting for a lung transplant.
Allison was born Feb. 4, 1976, to Jill and Paul Wornell of Burley. She attended Burley schools and was a graduate of Boise State University. She was a P.E.O. affiliate.
Allison married the love of her life and soul mate Jeremy Allen on March 18, 2000. They made their happy home in Eagle.
Allison was a devoted wife and loved doing things for her family. She loved to travel and entertain in her beautiful home. She always enjoyed doing things for others.
Allison was an accomplished horsewoman, attending National Appaloosa horse shows and competing in 6th district rodeos. College Rodeo and the I.M.P.R.A.
She was a competitive skier, racing across the Intermountain Region and qualifying for the Jr. Olympics.
Allison was a courageous young woman of great beauty. She will be greatly missed but carried on in the hearts of her family. Siblings are Chelsey Wornell, Boise; KyLee Roeschberger/Helmut, Ketchum; Tessa Wornell, Ketchum; Christopher Wornell, Burley; and foster brother Michael. Grandparents Jack and Betty Alfred of Burley, great-grandmother Hazel Buxton, aunt and uncle Laurie and Jackson Allred, J. W. and Jeanine, dear friends the Steve Murphy family and Randy Stone family, plus numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Jeremy's family loved her as one of their own. Parents John and Patty Allen of Kellogg, brother John, Monica and Joaquin Allen, Caldwell, as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
The interment will be held privately in Ketchum. In lieu of flowers Allison requested a scholarship memorial fund be established in her memory. Memorials may be made at any U.S. Bank branch, Attn: Allison C. Allen Memorial Fund or on-line at usbank.com allisoncallen memorial fund.

EUBEN A. WARD
ALBION - Reuben A. Ward, 95-year-old Albion resident left this world on Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2004, at the Cassia Regional Medical Center in Burley.
He was born Feb. 7, 1909, in Elba, the son of William A. and Cloe Beecher Ward. He attended elementary school in Elba, but had to leave for his high school education which he received in Logan and then Brigham City, Utah, graduating from Box Elder High School in 1927. He received his bachelor's degree from Utah State Agricultural College in 1931, and left to serve a 33 month mission for his church in Germany.
He married Della Wickel on Sept. 6, 1939, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He owned a ranch in Elba and lived there until his retirement at age 78. Since he sold his house with the ranch, they moved to Albion where he lived the rest of his life.
He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and at the time of his death he was a High Priest. He had served in many capacities in the church including Stake Sunday School Superintendent in the Raft River Stake for 12 years and he later served on the high council of that stake. Teaching school occupied much of his time as he taught in Pegram, Pocatello, Elba, and spent 22 years before his retirement teaching at Raft River High School.
After his retirement he and his wife served an 18 month mission for his church in Iowa, Kansas and South Dakota.
Survivors include his wife, Della of Albion; a brother, Art (Beth) Ward of Elba; numerous nieces and nephews, Paul Ward of Elba, Joyce Sweep, Carol Warren and Arley Cahoon all of Burley, Michael B. Smith of North Olmsted, Ohio, Larry Johnson of Springville, Utah, Tanya Munson and Keith Johnson both of St. George, Utah, Nancy Cranney and Sharon Kimber both of Oakley, Karen Jones and Gene Wickel both of Malta, Ardell Wickel of Declo, Jim Wickel of South Dakota, Bill Wickel of Conner Creek, Ronnie Cahoon of Albion, Lee Wickel of Lyman, Wyoming, and Gary Wickel of Boise. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Lela Rae Smith and Sylvia Johnson; and two nephews, Ray Ward Smith, and Keith Cahoon.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 27, 2004, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Albion Ward Chapel, with Bishop Kay Powell, officiating. Burial will be in the Grandview Cemetery in Elba. Friends may call at the Payne Mortuary, 221 West Main Street in Burley on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and at the church from 10 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the funeral on Monday.

ELMA MAY LARSEN TIMMONS
Elma May Larsen Timmons; She Loved Life And Her Family. Elma passed away gently Dec. 23, 2004, of causes incident to age at South Davis Community Hospital.
Elma was born May 10, 1924 in Magna, Utah, to Jacob William and Dora Alberta Shelton Larsen. She married James William Timmons, March 25, 1941 in Rupert. Together they had five children.
She was a master quilter, crocheter, bestowing her talents on her beloved family and extended families.
She is survived by sons, Jack La Vern, James LeRoy, Ronald William (Karma) and Robert Wayne (Sharon) Timmons, 11 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren (with two on the way).
She was preceded in death by her husband, infant daughter Wanda Jean, great-grandson Richard Garrison Timmons; two brothers, Henry and Dean Larsen; six sisters, Afton Larsen, Leah Justesen, Wanda Wager, Orpha Penrose, Ila Bott and Dora Maier.
The viewing is Tuesday, Dec. 28, at the Deseret Mortuary, 36 East, 700 South from 6 to 8 p.m. Graveside services will be Thursday, Dec. 30, in Rupert, with arrangements by Hansen Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers please make donations to the American Lung Association in Elma's name.

LeRoy Gene Slater
A bright shiny star went out of the lives of the friends and family of LeRoy G. Slater on Dec. 10, 2004. It was on this day that LeRoy went with his Father in Heaven rather than to continue battling the cancer that was taking the joy out of his life.
LeRoy Gene Slater was born in Rupert Sept. 16, 1941, to Leland and Thelma Slater. LeRoy and his brother Raymond were raised by their grandparents, James Harvey and Estella Slater.
Roy began plunking on a guitar at 16 years old and music became his passion. He perfected his skill with the bass guitar and in the early and mid-sixties played professionally in Coos Bay, Ore., and then Winnemucca, Nev. He played as a back-up musician to many famous country stars, such as Faron Young, Boots Randolph, Wanda Jackson, Rose Maddox and others. He became somewhat of a local celebrity playing nightclubs around the Magic Valley for 20 years with Jodee Willet and the Fugatives.
Roy worked at Kraft Foods in Rupert for 27 years. He won many awards for designing equipment to make the cheese processing more efficient.
Roy married Amy Warren in 1985 and in 1997 the couple left Idaho to help his wife care for her aging parents in Washington. Roy's dream was to someday return to his Idaho home. We are bringing him home as he instructed us to do.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, and parents. He is survived by his wife Amy, his brother Raymond, three sons, two daughters, one stepdaughter and 10 grandchildren.
Services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday Dec. 18, 2004, at Hansen Mortuary Rupert Chapel. Friends may call Friday, Dec. 17, 2004, from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm, and one hour prior to the services at the mortuary.
Burial with graveside services will follow at the Rupert Cemetery.

GLADYS L. JOHNSON
Gladys Laferl Moffett Johnson, 90-year-old Burley resident died Friday, Dec. 24, 2004, at the home of her daughter in Eagle Mountain, Utah.
She was born May 16, 1914, in View, the daughter of William Alvin and Alice May Robinson Moffett. She attended school in View and Burley, where she graduated from high school.
She married George David Johnson on Sept. 16, 1936, in Logan, Utah. Gladys worked on the family farm with her husband and was the mother of eleven children. Gladys and George were involved in community affairs and local and national politics. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had served in various capacities.
She enjoyed gardening and spent many hours doing family history. She especially loved spending time with her family.
Survivors include four daughters, Carol (John) Boyd of Eagle Mountain, Utah, Louise (Peter) Meline of Moorpark, California, Sharon (Duane) Hiatt of Provo, Utah, and Kathryn (John) Schorzman of Sublett; four sons, Lynn Johnson of Eagle Mountain, Utah, Steven (Francine) of Tremonton, Utah, Ronald (Judy) Johnson of Concord, California, and Gale (Mitzi) Johnson of Winslow, Arizona; a sister, Betty Lue Bowen of Meridian; sixty grandchildren; many great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, George on August 29, 2001; a brother, Sylvester Alvin Moffett; and three children, Marshall, Elaine, and Arthur.
Funeral services will be held at noon Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2004, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Springdale 1st & 2nd Ward Chapel, 200 S. 475 E. of Burley, with Bishop David Price, officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant View Cemetery in Burley. Friends may call at the Payne Mortuary, 221 West Main Street in Burley on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and at the church from 11 to 11:45 a.m. prior to the funeral on Wednesday.
