Kristie Hansen
Kristie Dawn Butler Hansen, 40, Pocatello, passed away, Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at a local medical center, surrounded by her loving family, daughter Sadie and all of her brothers and sisters.
Kristie was born on August 18, 1971 in Pocatello to Brett W. and Beverly Eiman Butler.
Her early schooling was in the old Bonneville Elementary School, then attending Franklin Junior High School and Pocatello High School.
Since the Butler home was on North 16th Street, Kristie enjoyed the togetherness of the old Bonneville Neighborhood and spent a happy childhood and activities with her tight knit family and neighborhood children.
'Beautiful inside and out and popular', is how her sisters described her.
Everyone wanted to hang out with Kristie, which made her sisters a little jealous.
At the age of 19 she married
, Timothy Hansen from Shelley, Idaho and they had one child, Sadie Nicole Hansen.
Sadie was her only child and the 'light of her life.'
Timothy and Kristie were later divorced.
There was no better worker than Kristie and she worked all of her life.
She had been employed by Heinz Foods, Varsity Contractors for 8 years and at Idaho State University in the Maintenance Department for 3 years.
Kristie made many good friends, whom she dearly treasured, at all the places she worked..
Even as a child she showed a deep care and compassion for all sorts of animals.
Her family thought surely that she would become a Veterinarian.
The dogs she owned were always very well groomed and beautifully cared for.
Her German Short Hair hound 'Woofy.' will miss her greatly, but her Chinese Shar-Pei, Tashara, will happily greet her in the spirit world with his little spirit tail wagging wildly.
She was a lover of nature and delighted in hiking and roaming the mountains with her dogs and long time companion, Russ Mowry.
Outdoor activities were her favorite pastime and she especially loved boating and fishing with Rusty.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Beverly Ann Kerr and is survived by her daughter, Sadie Nicole Hansen; father, Brett Warner Butler; 2 brothers, Dan Butler and Brett Butler Jr.; 3 sisters, Angie Butler, Debbie Otis and Wendy Butler.
She is also survived by her nieces, Cheyenne Rose, Haley Sierra, Brooke Butler, Lacey Jones, Ashley Otis and nephews, Mark Otis, Andy Rose and Lucas Lewis.
Memorial services will be held, Saturday, April 7, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. in the Cornelison Funeral Chapel, 431 North 15th Ave, Pocatello.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the Funeral Home.

Stanley Parker
Stanley Willard Parker has "gone fishing!"
Stan passed away at his home on March 25, 2011 with the comfort of his daughter, Diane by his side.
Stanley Willard Parker was born June 6, 1918 to John Albert parker and Cecelia Agnes Grunig of Montpelier, Idaho.
He attended schools in Montpelier where he boxed and played football.
He learned to hunt and fish with his father and passed this love onto his son, Kevin and his grand kids.
He enjoyed many fishing trips over the years, always betting to see who could catch the first fish of the day and the biggest one too.
In 1935 he went to work for the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation fighting fires, planting trees and building roads all over Northern Idaho.
In that same year, he was hired on with Union Pacific Railroad in Montpelier as a Brakeman and was later promoted to Conductor in 1945.
The only interruption in his employment was his enlistment in the U.S. Army where he landed on the beach at Normandy in the d plus one Invasion the day after his 36th birthday.
He went on to serve in England and Germany where he earned medals for service in the European Theatre of War, and was honorably discharged in 1946.
He resumed his work with the railroad, settling in Pocatello and after 45 years of employment, Stan retired on December 31, 1984.
Stanley met the love of his life, Ella D. Evans when he returned from the war and they were married
on Halloween in 1951.
His children would often tease them both as to whether they were "tricked or treated" that special night.
Stanley loved the outdoors and spent many days with his family on summer vacations and trips camping and fishing.
He loved his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and he was truly the "Rock" of the family.
Both Stan and Ella were active in the VFW #735 (Veterans of Foreign Wars) for many years.
They were active members of the Old Timers with the railroad, Good Sams and AARP Club and spent many of their later years together in their RV.
In recent years, Stan made daily walking trips at the Pineridge Mall with his good friend Emily York, until 6 months ago when his COPD just wouldn't let him make the trip.
Stan enjoyed eating at the Golden Corral with his good friend Joe Burton.
He became a favorite of many to the employees there and his family extends their gratitude for being so generous and kind.
Stanley Willard Parker was preceded in death by his wife Ella D. parker in 2006, his brother's, Alfred A. Parker, Freddie A. Parker, his sister Lois Cecelia Greenlee, son Leslie Gene parker and grandson Alec Stanley Cano.
He is survived by his son, Kevin Stanley Parker (Lisa) of Meridian Idaho; Pamela Steele of St. Anthony, Idaho; Nancy Parker (Art) of Moab, Utah; and Diane Cano (Raul) of Pocatello.
He is also survived by nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Dr. Mark Benson for all the care he gave dad, his special neighbors who offered their support throughout the years and Nora and Kim from Access Home Care and Hospice.
"Dad, you mattered because of who you were. You mattered until the last moment of your life."
We will miss you until we meet again in heaven.
So, go fishing and catch the "BIG ONE".
Funeral services will be held Tuesday April 3, 2012 at 11:00 am in the Cornelison Funeral Chapel, 431 N. 15th Ave., Pocatello.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 pm Monday evening and one hour prior to services Tuesday at the funeral home.
Interment will be in the Mountain View cemetery, Pocatello, with military graveside rites by the Pocatello Veterans Honor Guard.

Charles Arthur “Art” Sward Sr.
Art Sward, a life long resident of Pocatello, passed away peacefully Thursday, March 22, 2012 at Monte View Convalescent Home, under the compassionate care of his friends and neighbors, Dr. Robert Gilbert and Kat Gilbert, and friends and caregivers, Carl and Kathy Staplecamp.
They helped in ways too rich for description, more than any of us could have hoped for, expected, or imagined.
They became more to us than caregivers, they became part of our lives, hopes, and fears; they became family.
Art was born April 30, 1920 in Pocatello Idaho to Christine Hansen Sward Willard and Charles Sward.
Christine and Charles were later divorced.
Art was the older of two children. Art’s brother Bob preceded him in death.
Art graduated from Pocatello High.
He worked for Safeway’s and The Union Pacific Rail Road.
He took a leave of absence from the railroad to enlist in the United States Army Air Corps as an aviation mechanic in Le Moore Air Force Base, California & Luke Air Force Base, and Arizona from 1942 to 1945.
Upon returning from the service he continued working for The Union Pacific Railroad in Pocatello for 40 years until his retirement in 1981.
He was proud to serve many terms on the Board of Directors of the Union Pacific Rail Road Credit Union.
Art met the love of his life, LaRae Heyrend, in Ogden Utah.
They were married
on July 23, 1942.
They remained in love and faithful to one another for 67 years until her death on October 10, 2009. Dad and mom were inseparable.
They enjoyed hunting, fishing, and snow machining, traveling with friends and family, and spending quality time in Island Park enjoying their retirement years to the fullest.
They had two children, Chet (Ann) Sward of Idaho Falls, and Norman (Sunny) Sward of Pocatello.
Art’s sons had a special relationship with him, one that many fathers and sons envy.
They were blessed with three grandchildren, Cherie Sward of Boise, Brian (Ursula) Sward of Kennewick, and Cindy (Chris) Lemon of Blackfoot. Art and LaRae had nine great-grandchildren.
Art cherished the opportunity to share a meal, a fishing trip, or a story of adventure with his family.
He gave to those he left behind a love for the outdoors and adventure, a challenge to uphold a vow and love a spouse through happy times as well as hard times, and a charge to look for what is positive and honorable in a person and encourage and foster those qualities.
Whenever time was available to spend with Art, we left encouraged, challenged, and a better person.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, March 24, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. in the Cornelison Funeral Chapel, 431 North 15th Ave. Pocatello.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time at the Funeral Home.

Danna Pankhurst
Danna Lee Pankhurst, 62, Lava Hot Springs, passed away, Thursday morning, June 9, 2011 at her home from a lingering illness.
An open house for family and friends will be held Sunday, June 12, 2011 from 1-6pm at the family home, 338 W. Fife, Lava Hot Springs.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Cornelison Funeral Home, 431 N. 15th Ave., Pocatello.
Dan Morby
Dan Morby died at the age of 84, on September 17.
He was born October 25, 1927 in Hoytsville, Utah to Otto and Ethel Morby.
After his father died, Dan helped support his mother on the farm.
He joined the Navy in 1943, where he became an apprentice doctor.
He helped with the exchange of prisoners with Japan after the war.
Dan married
Marilyn Bovee in 1949 in Pocatello.
Dan worked as a fireman with the Pocatello Fire Department until his retirement in 1978, as a Lieutenant.
He had many jobs on the side, including painting.
He sang country music, played guitar and enjoyed and also carved art in wood.
Dan was also an avid fisherman and hunter, and loved western art.
Dan and Marilyn had three daughters: Susan (Kirk McKinley), Vickie Springsteed, and Debbie (Fred Heyrend).
His beloved Marilyn died in 1982. Dan later married
LeeAnn Lish in 1983, who died in 2010.
Dan had and loved all his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step-grandchildren, and step-great-grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held on Saturday, September 22, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the Cornelison Funeral Chapel, 431 North 15th Ave. Pocatello, with military rites by the Pocatello Veterans Honor Guard, where the family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until services time.
