PAYTON, Utah -- Ashley Nicole Pesek, 23, passed away Saturday, May 7, 2005, at her home in Payton, Utah.
Ashley was born May 25, 1980, in Prosser, Wash.
Surviving Ashley is her father, Craig L. Pesek of Boise, Idaho; her mother, Connie Brashier Pesek of Hansen, Idaho; her sister, Kathie Danielle Pesek, 18, of Egan, Minn.; two grandmothers, June Brashier of Hansen, Idaho, and Jackie Pesek of Grand Forks, N.D.; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends in North Dakota, Utah and Idaho.
A funeral for Ashley will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 12, 2005, at the Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home, 2551 Kimberly Road, Twin Falls, Idaho, with interment following at the Rock Creek cemetery in Hansen, Idaho. Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2005, at the funeral home. All services and arrangements are under the direction of the Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home of Twin Falls, Idaho.
Claribel Kleinkopf
BOISE -- Claribel Kleinkopf, 87, of Boise, formerly Murtaugh, died Saturday, May 7, 2005, in a Boise care center of natural causes.
A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Sunset Memorial Park, Twin Falls, with the Rev. Dale Metzger officiating. There will be a viewing from 4 until 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel, Boise. Services are under the direction of the Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel, Boise.
Mrs. Kleinkopf was born Oct. 24, 1917, in Twin Falls, Idaho, the daughter of Jeff Ray and Velma Moorman Sturgeon. She was raised in the Murtaugh area attending grade school and graduating from high school there. In 1933 she met Justin Kleinkopf and they were married
on June 24, 1934, in Twin Falls.
She was a devoted housewife, working along side her husband as he farmed in the Murtaugh area. She loved all aspects of farm life including raising a large garden to help sustain her family. Together they raised two children on the farm teaching them the value of hard work. Claribel enjoyed cooking and working with ceramics. She was a member of the H and M Club, of which she served as president for one year. She was also a member of the First Baptist Church in Twin Falls.
She moved to Boise 11 years ago following the death of her husband in 1994.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Shriley A. and Bryce Peterson of Boise; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Betty Kleinkopf of Twin Falls; her grandchildren, Stephanie L. Yates and her husband, Steve, of Boise, Debbie Stamas and her husband, Paul, of Sacramento, Calif., Dianne Jossis and her husband, Phil, of Boise, Sandy Rainone and her husband, Rick, of Portland, Ore., Debbie Ball and her husband, Dave, of Boise and Launa Barrett and her husband, Steve, of Conrow, Texas; 14 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild, one great-great-grandchild to arrive in September; and also by one sister, Katheryn Syverson of Twin Falls.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Justin; an infant daughter, Beverly; and her parents, Jeff and Velma Sturgeon.
Helen E. Hahn
NAMPA -- Helen E. Hahn, 93, of Nampa, formerly of Twin Falls, died Friday, May 6, 2005, in a Nampa Care Center of natural causes.
A private family service will be held in Twin Falls. Arrangements are under the direction of the Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel.
Helen was born Oct. 29, 1911, in Twin Falls, the daughter of Stuart H. Taylor and Hazel B. Fuller Taylor. Helen grew up and attended school in Twin Falls. She was married
on Jan. 3, 1944, to Louis M. Hahn, in San Francisco, Calif. Helen was an administrative clerk for the U.S. Geological Survey.
Survivors include her children, Susan L. Beck of Homedale, Idaho, and Louis T. Hahn of Waxahachie, Texas; grandchildren, John L. Beck of Homedale, Idaho, Nathan T. Hahn and Kelsie E. Hahn both of Waxahachie, Texas.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband, Louis M. Hahn; and sisters, Alice Haynes and Ruth Scully.

Rena Pearl Thacker

Rena Pearl Thacker, 91, resident of Filer, died Saturday, Aug. 16, 2003, at Arden Rehabilitation Center in Sacramento, Calif.
Rena was born on Dec. 26, 1911, in Marshall, Mo., the daughter of William and Cora Etta Page Zeigel. She grew up in Missouri and attended schools in the Fairfax area. In 1932, Rena married
John W. Thacker and the couple moved to Idaho in 1942, living in Kimberly, Murtaugh, Hansen and later in Twin Falls and finally settling in Filer. Rena worked in the potato fields and later as a line worker at Idaho Frozen Foods, a job she enjoyed for more than 23 years. She also worked as a nurse for the Twin Falls Hospital for a number of years. At the same time, Rena did seamstress work in the evenings for Christina Peterson making leather jackets. Rena retired in 1975 and shifted her energy to her hobbies of gardening, sewing and knitting.
Rena is survived by one brother, Eugene Zeigel of LaGrange, Ga.; three sisters, Thelma Dunlap and Edith Jackson both of Tarkio, Mo., and Lola Mae Jackson of Sergeant Bluff, Iowa. Also surviving Rena are seven grandchildren, David Stanger, Victoria Hogan, Allan Thacker, Bryan Thacker, Brenda Dominguez, Lyndon Thacker and Randy Thacker, numerous great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Thacker; her son, Robert Thacker; her daughter, Elaine Stanger; two brothers, Arthur and Warren Zeigel; and one sister, Eula Marie Zeigel.
The graveside service for Rena will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 22, 2003, at Sunset Memorial Park. At Rena's request, there will be no public viewing. Services are under the direction of Reynolds Funeral Chapel, Twin Falls.
Edith Dariling Fenstermaker Thompson

Edith Dariling Fenstermaker Thompson, 62, of Rupert, Idaho, passed away Sunday, Aug. 17, 2003, at the Minidoka Memorial Hospital.
She was born Nov. 3, 1940, in Burley, Idaho, the daughter of Florence Dariling Millard and Melvin (Jim) Fenstermaker. She married
Brent Thompson on Aug. 30, 1975, in Burley, Idaho.
She is survived by her husband, Brent; her children, Cecil Wayne (Joyce) Amen, Crystal June (Greg) Granillo, Declo, Idaho, Corrine Jean Hulbert, Boise, Idaho, Larry Dale (Anita Dee) Maier, Kasota, Idaho, Jimmy Leland (Maier) Thompson, Rupert, Idaho; brothers, Melvin "Jim" Fenstermaker, Rupert, Idaho, and Leland Ross Fenstermaker, Temple City, Calif.; and her sister, Melva Irene Fenstermaker, Cloward Spring City, Utah; 14 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a niece, Valarie Helene Fenstermaker; and a grandson, Alfred Lee Ortega.
The service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2003, at Hansen Mortuary Rupert Chapel, 710 Sixth St., with George Maas officiating. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2003, and one hour prior to the service at the mortuary. Interment will be at the Rupert cemetery.
Ellwood Roberts Werry

Ellwood Roberts Werry, passed away at the Sandpoint Life Care Center on Friday, Aug. 15, 2003. He was 104 years old, however some records indicate that he was 105.
Ellwood moved to Sandpoint in August of 2001 to be close to his son and daughter-in-law, Ellwood V. and Paula Werry. He spent most of his life in the communities of Bellevue and Shoshone, Idaho. He was a member of the pioneer Werry and Roberts families of the Big Wood River Valley, who settled there in the late 1870s and early 1880s.
Elwood was born July 13, 1899, to Joseph and Sarah Roberts Werry at Doniphan, Idaho, Doniphan was a mining camp about 4 miles west of Hailey, Idaho. His parents were both immigrants -- his father, Joseph, from Cornwall and his mother, Sarah, from Wales. He was the surviving sibling of Joe and Sarah's eight children.
Ellwood grew up in Broadford and Bellevue, Idaho. He graduated from Bellevue High School in 1918. He attended the University of Idaho and studied mining engineering. While attending the university, he was inducted in the US Army during WWI and placed in the Student Army Training Command (SATC). He was mustered out of the service soon after the war ended. After leaving college he worked in the hard rock mining industry in Butte, Mont., Wallace-Kellogg and Hailey, Idaho, areas. In 1927 on the advice of his doctor, who noted silicon dust in lungs, he left the mining industry to pursue other employment. At the beginning of the great depression, he worked for a time at the White Lumber Company, Dover, Idaho, saw mill. In 1928-30 he was employed in Evansville, Ind., as an inspector in the Evansville Dodge Truck factory. In 1930 he returned to Idaho and began a career with the Idaho Department of Highways, engineering section at the district office in Shoshone, Idaho. He spent approximately 12 years with the Highway Department as a civil engineer and highway oil construction supervisor. During WW II, he was employed as senior engineer with the Civil Aeronautic Authority (CAA) designing and constructing Naval Airports for coastal defense and training of Naval flyers in the states of Idaho, Oregon and Washington. After the war he left the CAA and returned to Shoshone, Idaho, where he was employed as an engineer with the US Soil Conservation Service. In 1949 he was appointed postmaster of the Shoshone US Post Office. He was postmaster for 20 years until he retired in 1969 at the mandatory age of 70.
Ellwood was very active in community affairs. Upon his "retirement" he was elected mayor of Shoshone for three consecutive terms and served for 12 years as mayor. As mayor, his engineering background served him well in the area of city utilities and grants. He was especially proud of the installation of the city sewer system during his tenure. He served on the Shoshone district school board for 8 years and was the chairman of the board in 1962-65. He was a member of the Shoshone Rotary and served as its president in 1954. He is a former member of the American Legion and served as commander of the Shoshone Weeks-Yaden Post and was secretary of the District. He is a former member of the Twin Falls, Idaho, Elks Lodge. Ellwood very active in the Bethany AF & AM of Shoshone, where he was worthy master in 1954 and served as lodge secretary for many years. A lifelong Episcopalian, Ellwood was a member of Christ Church in Shoshone for more than 65 years. He served Christ Church in every capacity open to the lay person, including many years on the vestry, senior and junior wardens, treasurer and lay reader.
On May 18, 1922, he married
Madeline B. Vines of Laclede, Idaho, at Deer Lodge, Mont., Madeline was a school teacher for the White Lumber Company at that time. She preceded him in death after 60 years of marriage. He then married
Nonna G. Hill of Shoshone, Idaho, who also preceded him in death in June 2001.
Ellwood is survived by sons, Arthur W. (Lyn) Werry, Sacramento, Calif., Ellwood V. (Paula) Werry, Sandpoint, Idaho, and Gary (Marti) Hill, Shoshone. Idaho; his sisters-in-law, Betty Werry Woodbury, Yuma, Ariz., Lucille Broam, Las Vegas, Nev., Shirley Puckett, Kimberly, Idaho, and Dorothy Rarick, Pocatello, Idaho; and his daughters-in-law, Mary Beth Terry, Menlo Park, Calif., Marilyn Werry, Richland, Wash., and Marilyn Bright, Kimberly, Idaho. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 28 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Ellwood was an avid hunter and fisherman. He especially loved big game hunting with his brother, Johnnie, and bird and duck hunting with his dogs. He also loved fishing mountain streams where he could tie his flies and match his casting skills with mountain trout. Ellwood was a loving husband, a marvelous father and grandfather.
He leaves behind a legacy of kindness to others, a great sense of humor and a lifelong dedication to hard work. He always gave a lot more than he received. Although his family and friends mourn his passing we also celebrate his long and productive life. He will, indeed, be a hard act to follow.
A memorial service is planned for early October in Shoshone, Idaho. Interment will be at the Bellevue, Idaho, cemetery. Memorials may be made to any Shriner's Children hospital or charity of your choice.

John Urrizaga
Twin Falls
John Urrizaga, 75, of Twin Falls, headed down the pike on Aug. 16, 2003, at the University of Utah Medical Center in Salt Lake City.
John was born Dec. 10, 1927, to Julia and John Urrizaga in Ely, Nev. He was raised in Cave Valley, Nev., learning to work hard and raise sheep. His family later moved to the Pahsimeroi Valley in Idaho where they continued to run sheep. It was there that he met Wilma Keppner, his lifelong love. They were married
May 12, 1953. John served in the US Army from 1955 to 1957, taking his young family with him to Louisiana while in the service.
Upon his discharge he and his family moved to Ely, Nev. John worked at K.C. Corporation and Junction Motors, and later started his own business, John's 66 Service. John and Wilma helped start the Basque Club in Ely and were dedicated to family and friends.
In January of 1973 they moved to Challis, Idaho, and embarked on a new business adventure. Like all their business endeavors they were successful and formed many lifelong friendships along the way. John returned to his lifelong passion of sheep ranching in 1977 in Pingree and later moved to Roberts and Rigby where he was president of the Jefferson County Wool Growers Association for 12 years.
In January of 1997 he and Wilma retired and moved to Twin Falls. John enjoyed being around his boys and grandchildren. Fishing trips with Speed and Evelyn were always source of great teasing and story telling.
Surviving are his wife, Wilma of Twin Falls; sons, Richard Urrizaga of Twin Falls, Donald (Leslie) Urrizaga of Grantsville, Utah, Andy (Joanne) Urrizaga of Pocatello, Kenneth Urrizaga of Wendover, Nev.; brother, Raymond Urrizaga of Ely, Nev.; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Robert Urrizaga; two granddaughters; and one grandson.
John will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Friends may call from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 21, 2003, at Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home, 2551 Kimberly Road. A vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Father Robb Keller will celebrate Mass of Christian burial Friday, Aug. 22, 2003, at St. Edward's Catholic Church in Twin Falls. Burial will follow in the Holy Cross Section of the Twin Falls cemetery.
Juan Luis Mallea
Jerome
Juan Luis Mallea, 60, of Jerome, passed away Aug. 24, 2003, at his home.
He was born Sept. 17, 1942, in Rigoitia, Vizcaya, Spain, to Julian Mallea and Petra Foruria Mallea. Juan came to America in the early 70s to be a sheepherder in Gooding. Following that, he moved to the Treasure Valley where he worked for several years and then he settled in Jerome about 12 years ago. He spent many years working at Longview Dairy until his retirement two years ago.
Juan is survived by one brother, Enrique (Aranzazu) Mallea of Vizcaya, Spain; several nieces and nephews in Spain; a niece, Rose (Craig) Smith of Twin Falls; a nephew, Robert (Teri) Mallea of Wyoming; two grand-nephews, Chase and Caden; and a grand-niece Tiffany. He was preceded in death by four brothers, two sisters and his parents.
Juan was a gentle man with a kind soul and he will be greatly missed by his family, friends and neighbors.

The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2003, at St. Jerome's Catholic Church, 216 Second Ave. E., Jerome, with Deacon Bill Last officiating. Interment will follow in the Jerome cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Farnsworth Mortuary of Jerome.
Dr. Homi Burjor Vania
Boise
Dr. Homi Burjor Vania, 56, of Boise, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2003, at his home in Boise.
Family services were held under the direction of Cloverdale Funeral Home in Boise, 208-375-2212.
Dr. Vania was born on Jan. 15, 1947, in Karachi, Pakistan, to Burjor and Mani Vania. When he was 9 years old, he attended Burnhall, a boarding school in Pakistan, operated by British priests where he began his education to continue in the family tradition and become a medical doctor. He attended medical school at Dow Medical University in Pakistan and, in 1970, he immigrated to the United States. He began his medical career at Cook County Hospital in Chicago, where he did his internal medicine residency and later did his pulmonary medicine residency with Hines Veterans Administration Medical Center in Chicago. He later worked as a research doctor with the National Institutes of Health and then gained a medical professorship with Loyola University Medical School in Chicago.
On Nov. 3, 1978, he married
Kaye E. Lockhart in Chicago. He became a United States citizen in June 1977. In 1980, he came to Rupert and began a private practice in internal medicine. He practiced in Rupert and later in Burley until December 1998 when he suffered severe injuries in a snowmobile accident. After his accident, he came to Boise where he has lived since that time.
Dr. Vania is survived by his wife, Kaye; children, Shane, Diana, Cyrus, Rachel and Natasha Vania, all of Boise; and his sister, Dr. Avan Vania of Chicago.
Joseph Clark Severa

Joe came into this world and graced us with his presence on Nov. 21, 1968, at the Fairchild Air Base in Spokane County, Wash. Joe was tragically taken from us on Aug. 29, 2003, at the young age of 34.
Joe was the first of three children born to Rudolf J. Severa Jr. and Sherry K. (Sloggy) Severa. He married
Diane Scheinost at Lava Hot Springs on Nov. 9, 1990. Joe and Diane lived in Buhl, Idaho, where they raised four children, Jessaka, Annaka, Kassandra and William. Joe was a hard working man who loved spending time with family and friends in the outdoors. He enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing. He was a great dad, husband, grandfather and son and a friend to everyone he met. Joe was loved by many people and will be missed by all. You will live in the front of our minds until we meet again. We Love You Joe!
Joe is survived by his wife, Diane Severa; three daughters, Jessaka Severa, Annaka Severa and Kassandra (Stan) Pilcher; one son, William Severa; two grandchildren, Caitlin and Aiden Pilcher; his parents, Rudy and Sherry Severa; two sisters, Margie Lee (Rodney) Thompson and Rose (Robert) Henderson; one brother, Terry Kobrock; grandmother, Fleta M. Sloggy; aunts, Jacqueline Williams, Rebecca Sloggy and Lorraine Walker; uncles, John Severa, Leonard Severa and Al Williams; numerous nieces and nephews; and many, many cousins.
Joe was preceded in death by his grandparents and several great aunts and uncles.
A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2003, at Farmer Funeral Chapel in Buhl, Idaho.
