Fern Leone Saunders
OGDEN, Utah -- Leone, 87, left this earthly life to join her Father in Heaven on Feb. 14, 2005, of natural causes at Apple Village Assisted Living in Layton, Utah. She was surrounded by her loving and devoted family.
Leone was born March 21, 1917, in Kimberly, Idaho, third child of Warren and Mabel Staley. She was raised and educated in Kimberly, Idaho. She began her career as a telephone operator while in high school and retired from Mountain Bell in Ogden, Utah.
While visiting her brothers in Bishop, Calif., she met her first husband, Johnnie James Hilton. They were married
Oct. 27, 1940, in Bishop and were blessed with two miracles, James and Sylvia, who were the light and love of her life. They were later divorced. She married
James Edward Saunders July 29, 1992, in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. He preceded her in death in August 2000. She continued a loving relationship with the Saunders family.
Leone had many hobbies and lived life to the fullest. She was most happy when surrounded by family and friends. She had the opportunity to develop life long friendships while attending the Ogden 4th Ward for nearly three decades.
The two years spent at Apple Village proved to create everlasting friendships as well.
Leone was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The Gospel and the Savior were the center of her life. Leone dedicated her time teaching and serving others, doing genealogy and attending the temple. She had an unfaltering testimony and loved to share the Gospel with all those she came in contact with. Leone served a mission to Nashville, Tenn., and held many positions in the church. She was currently the Family Home Evening Coordinator in her branch at Apple Village where she compassionately served and loved all her friends. Leone displayed an extraordinarily Christ-like example to everyone around her, especially to her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, James (Marsha) Hilton, Rincon, Ga., and Sylvia (Dave) Rosser, Kaysville, Utah; brothers, Jack, Carl and Lloyd Staley; sisters, Betty Freeman and Lois Crist; 10 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Warren, Bill and Kenny Staley.
We are eternally grateful for her testimony and pure dedication to life.
She will be dearly missed by her family and friends, but we are comforted in knowing we will all be together again.
A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 16, Layton North Ridge Stake Center, 2375 E. 3255 N., Layton, UT, and at 4 p.m. at Parke's Funeral Home, Twin Falls, Idaho. Interment Sunset Memorial Park, Twin Falls, Idaho.

LuDell Waldron
TWIN FALLS -- LuDell Waldron, 71, of Twin Falls, passed away Sunday, Feb. 6, 2005, at his home.
He was born Aug. 5, 1933, to Thomas John and Hannah Griffiths Waldron in Samaria, Idaho. He attended grade school in a two-room school in Samaria and graduated from Malad High School in 1951. After high school he went to work at the Army Supply Depot in Ogden, where he worked for two years. He married
Gwenfred Jean McAllister Aug. 29, 1952, in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple. He volunteered to be drafted in the U.S. Army Oct. 1, 1953, and spent two years in the army at Ft. Benning, Ga. Upon release from the service he attended Utah State University. While there, a daughter, Karen, was born. Gwen became seriously ill and died Feb. 20, 1959.
LuDell graduated from Utah State University in June 1959 finishing first in his accounting class and received the Utah Association of CPA's award for his achievement. He graduated cum laude and was admitted to the Phi Kappa Phi honor society.
Following graduation, he went to work for an accounting firm in Ogden, Utah.
He married
Rexine Gardner Sept. 3, 1963, in the Salt Lake City Temple, and moved to Twin Falls in July 1964 where LuDell worked for an accounting firm until 1972 when he purchased a practice in Buhl. He joined the Buhl Rotary Club and has been active in that club until recently, serving a term as president.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother; one sister, Theda; two brothers, Thomas Glen and Terry; and one granddaughter.
He is survived by his wife, Rexine; three daughters and two sons, Karen Ann (Francisco), Larry Rex (Beth), LaRene (Mark), Brent (Rebecca) and Janet Jo (Ruel); and 10 grandchildren; a brother, Thayne, Folsom, Calif.; and a sister Neva, St. George, Utah.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and has served on the High Council and as a bishop.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2005, at the Caswell LDS Church building. A viewing will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at White Mortuary, "Chapel by the Park," and one hour prior to service at the church. Interment will be in the Pine Valley cemetery, Pine Valley, Utah.

Melba I. Anderson
BURLEY -- Melba I. Anderson, an 84-year-old resident of Burley, passed away at her home on Saturday, Feb. 12, 2005, with her loving husband, Clyde, at her side.
Melba was born on June 29, 1920, in Melba, Idaho, one of nine children born to George and Josephine Hyde. Melba was raised primarily in Buhl, and met the first love of her life there, Gerald A. Ambrose. They were united in marriage on June 28, 1935. To this union were born four daughters, Lucille (Elmer) Wolff, Janine (Jim) Gordon, Darlene Parker and Sharel (John) Kerr; ten grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
On Feb. 16, 1966, Gerald A. "Jerry" Ambrose passed away while they were living in Rupert. On Feb. 22, 1970, Melba married
the second love of her life, Clyde Anderson. They shared two daughters, Carolyn (Gaylen) Hondo, and Carla (Mark) Shockey, and an "adopted" son, Jeff Critchfield, as well as five grandchildren.
After retiring from J.R. Simplot Company, Melba spent her time baking her famous pies for everyone close to her and especially the Burley Fire Department. She was also an avid reader and didembroidery handwork.
Surviving Melba is her loving husband, Clyde; children, Lucille Wolff, Janine Gordon, Darlene Parker, Sharel Kerr, Carolyn Hondo and Carla Shockey; fifteen grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Doris Yost.
The funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2005, at Rasmussen Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th St., Burley, with the Rev. Darcey Gritzmacher officiating. Burial will be in Gem Memorial Gardens.
Friends may call from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday and one hour prior to the funeral on Wednesday at Rasmussen Funeral Home.
Maud Annie Blaylock Stark
WENDELL -- Maud Annie Blaylock Stark, 96, of Wendell, passed away peacefully in her sleep, Feb. 9, 2005, at the home of her sister, Maurine Butler.
She was born Dec. 15, 1908, in North Ogden, Utah, to Margaret Josephine (Montgomery) and B.F. Blaylock Jr., she moved with her parents to the Metropolis Project near Wells, Nev., in 1912, where the family remained for eight years. In 1920, they relocated to Idaho, first at Thousand Springs near Hagerman, two years later moving to Buhl, where Annie attended school through her senior year.
On her 22nd birthday, Dec. 15, 1930, she eloped with Walter Roger Stark, also of Buhl to San Pedro, Calif., where they were married
and embarked upon a true 49-year love affair. Their marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls LDS Temple June 21, 1969. For more than 30 years, the couple lived at the same address in Los Angeles, where Rog served with the U.S. Navy and later with the L.A. Police Dept. During World War II, Annie supported the war effort by working in a magnesium foundry manufacturing airplane parts. A devoted wife and homemaker, for many years she also worked as a health consultant for Lindberg Nutrition Center in Pasadena. The couple had no children.
In 1961, they retired to Wendell, Idaho, where they managed the homestead of Annie's parents until Rog's death in 1979. For the next 20 years, Annie and her sister, Maurine, next door neighbors and lifelong best friends, managed the ranch together. In 1999 failing health confined Annie to her bed, under the loving care of her sister.
A devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served throughout her years in California and Idaho in such capacities as teacher, genealogist, family historian, data extractionist, Stake Sunday School Board Representative, Primary President, family services consultant and Relief Society President. Admired for her sense of beauty and style and for her light hand with a pie crust, she created beautiful leatherwork, china painting, sewing, flower arranging, decorating and oriental gourmet cooking.
She also greatly enjoyed ocean and river fishing, camping, shooting, gardening and travel throughout the United States, Mexico and Europe. Although childless herself, she reached out to mother the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren of her five brothers and sisters, as well as countless others.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters, Maurice Blaylock, North Ogden, Utah, Walter Blaylock, Twin Falls, Idaho, Thelma (Ralph) Hulme, Hagerman, Idaho, Muriel (R.G.) Hitchcock, Buhl, Idaho, and Margaret (David) Spencer, Ukiah, Calif.
She is survived by her sister, Maurine.
She will be greatly missed by all whom her life touched and we are many.
A viewing will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Feb. 18, at the Farmer Funeral Chapel, 130 N. Ninth Ave. in Buhl. A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 19, at the Buhl First Ward LDS Chapel, Main Street. There will be a brief prayer meeting for family members immediately prior to the services.
Ann Devine Dixon
TWIN FALLS -- Ann Devine Dixon, age 66, of Twin Falls, passed away Friday, Feb. 4, 2005, at her home.
She was born Sept. 21, 1938, in Twin Falls, Idaho, the daughter of Matthew L. and Maryann B. Devine. Ann attended schools in Winnetka, Ill., and graduated from New Trier High School in 1956. She attended Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill, from 1956-1959 and 1965-1966.
Ann married
Brad L. Synder Jan. 19, 1959, and her son, Scott Bradford Snyder was born Dec. 2, 1959, this union later ended in divorce. Ann married
David L. Dellett on July 10, 1966, and they were later divorced in 1988. On Sept. 4, 2004 she married
Roy Dixon in Twin Falls who survives.
Before moving to Idaho, Ann worked for the Dean of the Graduate School at Northwestern University; she worked for Borg-Warner Corp. in Chicago, Ill, and she also worked for Robert Curtis and several other doctors in Evanston, Ill.
In addition to her husband, Roy Dixon of Twin Falls, Idaho, she is survived by her two stepsons, Jacob and Nicholas and one brother, Michael (Susan) Devine of Twin Falls, Idaho.
She is preceded by her parents and son, Scott.
A memorial graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Hagerman cemetery with Pastor Dale Metzger officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of White Mortuary, "Chapel by the Park."
Kevin David Kehrer
JEROME -- Kevin David Kehrer, 43, of Jerome, passed away Feb. 12, 2005 at his home.
Kevin was born Aug. 31, 1961, in Jerome, Idaho, the son of David M. Kehrer and Linda Riddle Kehrer. Kevin was raised in Rupert and graduated from Minico High School in 1979. He attended the College of Southern Idaho and earned a degree in mechanics and welding. After graduating from CSI he went to work for Cameron's Implements in Rupert. He later moved to Jerome where he worked for Moss Greenhouse for 16 years. He was later employed as a groundskeeper for the Jerome County Fairgrounds.
Kevin is survived by his wife, Deann, and daughter, Savannah, of Jerome; son Matt, stationed at the U.S. Naval Base at Norfolk, Va.; parents, David and Linda Kehrer, of Rupert, sister Robin of Rupert; and a brother, Cory, of Jerome. He is also survived by his beloved grandmother, Rosa Lee Riddle, of Jerome; two nieces, Courtney and Kzandra; nephew Chris, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Leonard Riddle and Robert and Roberta Kehrer.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2005, at Farnsworth Mortuary Chapel, 1343 South Lincoln, Jerome, with Pastor Richard Goetsch officiating. Interment to follow in the Jerome cemetery.
Wilma Eslinger Kuykendall
TWIN FALLS -- Wilma Kuykendall passed away Saturday, Feb. 19, 2005, in her home in Twin Falls. She was 87 years old. Her husband, Iro Kuykendall, was with her at the end.
Wilma was born on Nov. 20, 1917, in Las Animas County, Colo., on the land homesteaded by her parents, John Oscar Eslinger and Edna Bland Eslinger. The family moved to Twin Falls on Feb. 15, 1919.
Wilma married
Iro Kuykendall on Oct. 10, 1940, and they celebrated 64 years of marriage and happiness. They had three children, three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Iro and Wilma farmed and ranched for many years and were members of the Twin Falls First Christian Church. Wilma was very active in the Iris Society and the Twin Falls Garden Club.
Wilma is survived by her husband, Iro Kuykendall of Twin Falls; her son, Jerry (Chinami) Kuykendall of West Linn, Ore.; her daughter, Peggy (Tom) Trelford of Reno, Nev.; granddaughters, Toni Woodard, Jennifer Martin and Ginger McHenry. She is also survived by five great-grandchildren; and her brother, Dr. Chester Eslinger of Rocklin, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Earl Eslinger; and her first child, Margaret Ann.
A celebration of Wilma's life will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2005, at Reynolds Funeral Chapel, 2466 Addison Ave. E., Twin Falls, with Ralph Eslinger officiating. A private family interment will take place at Twin Falls cemetery.
The family suggests in lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Wilma's name to the First Christian Church of Twin Falls or a charity of your choice. Contributions may be given to funeral chapel staff or mailed to Reynolds Funeral Chapel, P.O. Box 1142, Twin Falls, ID 83303.
John Wayland Guinn
GOODING -- John Wayland Guinn passed away Feb. 11, 2005, at the Gooding County Memorial Hospital.
John was born March 24, 1925, in Midway, Tenn., to John M. and Myrtle Guinn and attended Mosheim High School in Midway. In 1942 he completed an "Army Test" Welding Course in Nashville.
In January 1944 he moved with his family to a farm northwest of Gooding where he farmed with his father. On Nov. 14, 1954, he married
Frances Guinn.
John was a member of the Gooding Country Club and a former member of the Idaho Odd Fellows Lodge. For many years he drove long haul truck for Montana Express in Wendell and then drove short haul for Southern Idaho Transport in Twin Falls.
John is survived by his wife, Frances; stepson, John (Peggy) Beitia of Eagle, Idaho; granddaughters, Maria, Julie and Amy; great-grandchildren, Cidney, Chandler and Kyla; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, John and Myrtle Guinn and a special niece, Mary James Brown.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 18, 2005, at Demaray's Chapel in Gooding. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Elmwood cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Gooding Hospital Foundation or to any charity of choice.
Muriel Miller
RUPERT -- Muriel Strange Miller, an 88-year-old resident of Rupert, died Saturday, Feb.19, 2005, at Mountain View Care Center in Kimberly.
She was born May 11, 1916, in Egin, Fremont County, Idaho, the youngest child of John James and Lucy Green Strange. She married
Percy Chester Miller on March 31, 1936. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on Sept. 16, 1965.
Muriel was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served as a Sunday School Secretary for more than 20 years, was a counselor in a Relief Society Presidency and was a life-long valiant visiting teacher. She and Percy served as workers in the Logan Temple and following Percy's death, she was called on a mission to the Bishop's Storehouse.
Muriel was a devoted mother and wife and loved her home. She was shy, quiet and determined and was loyal to family and friends. No matter when you came to her home, she wanted to feed you. Many memories of roasts, turkey and ham dinners, waiting for your arrival, will forever be cherished.
She enjoyed working in her yard and especially loved a green lawn.
She is survived by her children, Linda Miller Kener (Ron) Ballantyne of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Terry (Jolene) Miller of Rupert; her siblings, Edwin Green (Emmaline) Strange of St. Anthony, Idaho, and Hazel Sainsbury of Washington State; 10 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, four brothers, one sister, an infant daughter and one great-grandson, Asher Critchfield.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 24, 2005, at the Rupert First and Seventh Ward Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 806 G St., with Bishop Stacey Camp officiating. Burial will be in Rupert cemetery.
Friends may call from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday at Rasmussen Funeral Home, 1350 E. 16th St., Burley, and from 10 until 10:45 a.m. Thursday at the church.
The family suggests memorials be directed to Shriners Hospital for Children, or the LDS Perpetual Education Fund in care of Rasmussen Funeral Home.
