Virge Joseph Dixon
BILLINGS, Mont. -- Virge Joseph Dixon, 87, of Billings, passed away Feb. 18, 2005, at his home.
Virge was born April 14, 1917, in Manard, Idaho, of goodly parents, John Fredrick Dixon and Martha Laurennia Wells Dixon. Since Manard is no longer in existence, the vital records were moved to the nearby town of Fairfield. The family lived between the towns of Gooding and Wendell, Idaho, during Virge's youth. He had four brothers and two sisters. He attended the University of Idaho Southern Branch (now known as Idaho State University.) Virge married
Marjorie Mae Anderson of Hansen, Idaho, in the LDS Temple in Salt Lake City, Utah, prior to his senior year of college. He graduated in electrical engineering from the University of Idaho at Moscow, Idaho. Immediately after graduation he had a special assignment as Ensign in the Navy at the Boeing Air Field in Seattle, Wash. While there, he made a stabilizer for the airplanes, which was then incorporated in the planes.
After his duty in the Navy, he moved his family to Sacramento, Calif., for a year, then he built a home 11 miles east of Sacramento in Carmichael. He was employed by the Bureau of Interior, Department of Reclamation, working on the California Central Valley Project. He also worked for a year as an actuary for the Beneficial Life Insurance Company. He moved his family to Billings, Mont., in November 1960, where he continued employment with the Bureau of Reclamation working on the Missouri River Basin Project until his retirement in 1978. He was a man of many talents and interests. A few of them were gardening, making items, repairing equipment and appliances. He was a certified repairman for Crossman Air Rifles and Howard Miller Grandfather Clocks. In his work, he repaired many antique clocks from many parts of Montana.
His greatest achievements and joys were his family, service in his church and association with his friends.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 63 years; seven children, Rita (Cordell) Ringel, Gary (Marjorie) Dixon, Eldon (Rosmary, divorced) Dixon, Lynn (Joyce) Dixon, Donna (Brent) Adams, Dan (Margie) Dixon and Bonnie (Randy) Steck. He is also survived by one brother, Forest B. Dixon of Jerome, Idaho. Virge has 39 grandchildren and 33 living great-grandchildren; each was a great joy to him and he was expecting four more to arrive in the coming months.
He has served in many and various callings in The Church of Jesus Church of Latter-day Saints including Bishop, High Council, Scouting and four Stake Missions. He also served two full-time missions with his wife, Marjorie, in the Florida Keys and Salt Lake City, Utah.
We honor a great husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.
A funeral will be 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 25, at the Belvedere LDS Church. Interment will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 26, in Sunset Memorial Park, Twin Falls, Idaho. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday evening at Smith West Chapel, and again prior to the service.
Jesse Michael Woolley
FILER -- Jesse Michael Woolley, 16, of Filer, died Monday, Feb. 7, 2005, from injuries received in an automobile accident.
He was born on May 30, 1988, in Twin Falls, Idaho, the son of Ray and Jerry Woolley. Jesse was raised in Twin Falls but moved to Filer which he considered "home" in 2000. He was currently a junior at Filer High School. He was active in Future Farmers of America, winning a district welding competition his sophomore year. He also went to state both as a freshman and sophomore. Pushing the rules with his smile, Jesse made many friends and was known as a good-hearted person.
Jesse spent half of his time having loads of fun and the other half working on being grounded. Jesse was in the Filer Junior Riding Club for three years with his horse "Purdy." He loved to ride motorcycles with family and friends but his greatest love was hunting with his dad and special hunting pals. Jesse was full of life and never knew a stranger. He was a great cook and was famous with his family and friends for his barbecue ribs.
Jesse is survived by his parents, Ray and Jerry Woolley of Filer; one sister, Sarah Woolley of Filer; one brother, Joe Woolley of Nashville, Tenn.; his grandparents, Mike and Nancy Barron of Twin Falls; one aunt, Terry (Chuck) Sharp of Twin Falls; cousins, Jenna, Kelsey and Alex Sharp; and great-grandmother Kathleen Erb.
Jesse was preceded in death by his grandfather, Ferris Woolley; great-grandfather and great-grandmother, Everett and Clara Woolley; great-grandmother, Bernice Barron; and great-grandfather, Robert Erb.
We all love you and will miss you.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the members of the Filer FFA and their teacher, Mr. Wolf for the love and care shown Jesse the past few years. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Filer FFA at any Wells Fargo Bank.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, 2005, at the Filer High School Gymnasium. Inurnment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Services and arrangements are under the direction of White Mortuary, "Chapel by the Park."
Donald Dean Hill
GOODING -- Donald Dean Hill, 72, of Gooding, died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2005, at his home with his family at his side in Gooding.
Don was born Dec. 27, 1932, in Melrose, N.M., to Emmett Lawrence and Martha Lillie Bryant Hill.
Don went to school in the small New Mexico town of Quamado, where he was on the high school basketball team. He spent most of his younger years riding the range, herding cattle and training horses.
He served his country for three years in the Korean conflict in the Marine Corp. as a staff sergeant. He received an honorable discharge from the armed services.
He loved the sport of rodeo and his favorite events were team roping, bronc riding and bull riding. He guided hunting parties in the Selway area of Idaho with his horse and a mule string.
He met Gloria June Harms in 1959 and they were married
in Elko, Nev., July 1, 1960. From this union was born six children, Donna June-Hill-Oglesbee (Wayne) of Buhl, Martha Jean Summers of Seminole, Fla., Rebecca Dawn Hill O'Brien (Denny) of Buhl, Amy Lee Hill Ferrin (Cary) of Rupert, Adam Jared Hill (Kim) of Gooding and Donald Aaron Hill (Christi).
Don spent most of his years in ranching and working with horses and cattle. He raised registered Quarter Horses for a time and was involved as a 4-H leader for his children and many other kids in the Lincoln and Gooding County areas. He was a past member of the Gooding Roping Association and spent many weekends and evenings at team roping events with friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Carrol Hill; and his sister, Viola Thompson.
He is survived by his wife, June of 44 years; his daughters, Donna, Martha, Rebecca and Amy; and his sons, Adam and Aaron; his brothers, E.L. Hill (Wanda) of Dallas, Texas, John LeCompte of Reno, Nev., and Joe LeCompte (Janet) of Columbus, Ohio; 14 grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
Don was a devout Christian and deeply enjoyed his faith, family and friends. He was loved by many and will be missed by all.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the First Assembly of God Church in Buhl.
Jerry Lee Russell
RUPERT -- Jerry Lee Russell, a 53-year-old Rupert resident, passed away Feb. 16, 2005, at his home.
Jerry was born June 9, 1951, in Rupert to Curtis and Oleta Mae Russell. He received a degree in diesel mechanics and liked to work with pallets. He enjoyed motorcycles, especially Harley Davidson's, his solitude and also visiting with his family.
Jerry is survived by his children, Tiffany Vasquez, Alicia Peak, Shane, Nicole, Bobby and Suprena Russell; and nine grandchildren; and siblings, Curtis Russell, Oleta Mae Baker, Mary Ann Staker, Ronnie Gene Russell, and Nicole Gambino.
He was preceded in death by his son, Jerry.

A private family service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Hansen Mortuary Rupert Chapel.
Willa Pearl Clark
HAZELTON -- In loving memory of Willa Pearl Clark, born Nov. 10th, 1924 in Springview, Neb., to Orville E. Strong and Nellie P. Ward.
Willa left us on Jan. 26th, 2005, to be with her loving Savior and all her loved ones who passed before her.
One of eight children, she is survived by her husband, Olen (Swede) Clark; two sisters, Irene Dillon of Valentine, Neb., and Georgie Lantz of Anchorage, Alaska; seven children, Ed and Arnell Finley of Rochester, Wash., Ted and Julie Finley of Kuna, Idaho, Jody and Jerry Sisk of Rochester, Wash., Sherry and Dale Perkins of Eden, Idaho, Glen and Sara Clark of Medford, Ore., Dale Finley of Centralia, Wash., and Tammy and Daryl Baker of Kuna, Idaho. Willa had 18 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren whom she loved spending time with.
Having ran restaurants both in Nebraska and Idaho, she enjoyed cooking and entertaining, owing to the fact that she started cooking for ranch crews at the age of 13 in Nebraska, she was good at baking and coming up with her "concoctions".
She was good at keeping others laughing with her antics and joking. Willa and Swede had ran the Valley Café in Hazelton and the Snug Lounge in Eden, Idaho, having resided in the area since selling their farm east of Jerome in 1972.
A memorial service is being conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 12th, in the Valley Christian Center at 35 Main St. Hazelton, Idaho. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Valley Christian Church and/or the Eden Senior Citizen Center, Eden, Idaho.
Lloyd Lee Askins Jr.
TWIN FALLS -- Lloyd Lee Askins Jr., 49, of Twin Falls, died late Saturday evening, Feb. 12, 2005, at Magic Valley Regional Medical Center in Twin Falls following a battle with cancer.
Lloyd was born on Oct. 21, 1955, in Medford, Ore., the son of Lloyd Lee Askins Sr. and Elizabeth Ann Jackson Askins. He grew up in Oregon until the age of 9; when he and his family moved to Reno, Nev., in 1964. Following his high school years, Lloyd began his career by enrolling at an automotive school to be an auto mechanic and auto body work specialist. He worked for many years in the automotive industry before moving to Twin Falls in 2001. He worked for A-1 Auto Sales and Bail Bonds in Twin Falls for three years until his ill health.
Lloyd enjoyed drawing, painting, all kinds of nature and, of course, cars. He was a kind-hearted, soft-spoken, sweet gentleman.
Lloyd is survived by his fiancé, Patty Maxim of Twin Falls and her children, KCee and Poppy; his children, Lloyd Lee Askins III of Carson City, Nev., Tammy Askins of Coldspring, Nev., and Danny Askins of Stagecoach, Nev.; two brothers, Billy (Ronda) Askins and Ricky (Dorothy) Askins both of Reno, Nev.; his two sisters, Helen (Frank) Vignon of Grass Valley, Calif., and Loni (Bob) Bay of Challenge, Calif. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Ayden, Tristen, Clayton and Kaleb.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a previous wife, Sue Askins.
A celebration of Lloyd's life will be held at noon Saturday, Feb. 19, 2005, at Reynolds Funeral Chapel with Pastor Greg Fadness of the Lighthouse Christian Fellowship officiating. At Lloyd's request there will be no public viewing, services and cremation are under the direction of Reynolds Funeral Chapel, Twin Falls.
Alice May Baily Hammond
RUPERT -- Alice May Baily Hammond, an 87-year-old resident of Rupert, died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2005, at St. Alphonsus Hospital in Boise.
She was born Oct. 24, 1917, in Rupert, Idaho, to Roy and Lena Baily. She attended high school at Big Bend in Heyburn, Idaho. She also attended Henlers Business College in Twin Falls. She married
Ed Hammond, Nov. 29, 1937, in Twin Falls. During their marriage, they lived in California and Rupert. She was employed by Reeves Market and Simplot. She was involved in the Christmas Savers Club, publishing cookbooks. She enjoyed fishing, camping, gardening, growing beautiful flowers, ceramics and spending time with family and friends.
She is survived by her children, Marvelene (Ron) Hiddleston, Sharon (John) Tracy, Kent (Eloise) Hammond, Linda Pratt and Steve (Terrie) Hammond; brother, Jake (Ruth) Baily; sister, Mary Davis; sister-in-law, Marilyn Baily; 22 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ed Hammond; son, Loren Gene Hammond; brother, Royce Baily; grandchild, Mike Hiddleston and her parents.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 25, 2005, at Hansen Mortuary Rupert Chapel, 710 Sixth St. A viewing for family and friends will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary. Burial will follow at the Rupert cemetery.
The family would like to thank St. Alphonsus Hospital and Heritage Assistance Living for the loving care they gave to their mother. The family would like to suggest that donations be made to the hospital or the assisted living center.
W. Raymond 'Ray' Hatcher
TWIN FALLS -- W. Raymond "Ray" Hatcher, 98 1/2, of Twin Falls, died Sunday, Feb. 13, 2005, at the Twin Falls Care Center.
Ray was born on July 3, 1906, in Osgood, Mo., the son of Hiram and Nannie Hatcher. He grew up on the farm in Missouri.
Ray married
Esther Dawson on Nov. 27, 1929. They moved to Idaho in 1935 and celebrated their 64-year anniversary before Esther went to her Lord on June 6, 1994.
Ray was a hard worker and held various jobs before working for Amalgamated Sugar Co. that lasted more than 30 years. After his retirement from Amalgamated Sugar, Ray worked for the audio and visual department at the College of Southern Idaho for 10 years and retired again at the age of 76.
Ray enjoyed traveling with Esther and their friends, their travels took them to the Rose Parade, family in Missouri, riding the mules into Grand Canyon as well the four corners of the United States and Canada. He took great pride in his rose garden at home as well as at the church.
Ray is survived by his one son, Keith (Valerie) Hatcher of Meridian; three grandchildren, Darrin (Mary) Hatcher of Puyallup, Wash., Mark Hatcher and Kelly Rust of Twin Falls; as well as eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Esther; daughter, Carolyn Pierce; two brothers and three sisters.
A celebration of Ray's life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 19, 2005, at the Valley Christian Church, 1708 Heyburn Ave. E., Twin Falls, with the Rev. O.I. "Cricket" Harrison officiating. The inurnment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. At Ray's request there will be no public viewing. Services and cremation are under the direction of Reynolds Funeral Chapel.

Jason Leigh Sellers
TWIN FALLS -- Jason Leigh Sellers, 32, of Twin Falls, passed away suddenly Thursday, Feb. 3, 2005, at Magic Valley Regional Medical Center in Twin Falls, Idaho.
Jason was born Sept. 9, 1972, in San Diego, Calif. He grew up and attended schools in Twin Falls. Jason was a people person and anyone he met became a friend. He worked in the Magic Valley at AgriTrend and the Sizzler Restaurant. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching all sports on TV. Jason loved playing golf, was an avid Lakers fan, but his true passion was baseball. He also shared a deep and abiding interest with his grandfather, Bill, in the Nebraska Huskers. In fact, they had matching tattoos as a remembrance.
Jason has two daughters, Breven and Chloe, that were very dear to his heart. No conversation ever passed when he didn't speak about each of them with pride.
The love of Jason's life was Lisa Williams. They were engaged and were to be married
this summer.
Jason was a wonderful son, brother, father and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Surviving Jason is his fiancee, Lisa Williams of Twin Falls; daughters, Breven Leanne Sellers of Boise, Idaho, and Chloe Grace Sellers of Twin Falls, Idaho; his dad and step-mom, Steve and Mary Sellers; and mother, Robin Jensen of Twin Falls, Idaho; two brothers, Drew Sellers of Seattle, Wash., and Justin Reeves of Twin Falls, Idaho, and one sister, Kristy Sellers of Boise, Idaho; grandparents, Leonard Sellers, Bill and Loretta Jackson, and Frank and Yvonne Anderson, all of Twin Falls, Idaho; aunt, Kim (Richard) Reichman of Yuma, Ariz.; and an uncle, Robert (Lil) Jackson, U.S. Navy. Also surviving are his many, many friends whom he loved dearly. His grandmother, Leola Sellers, preceded him in death.
The funeral for Jason will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 8, 2005, at the Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home, 2551 Kimberly Road, Twin Falls, with Pastor Jim Sommer officiating. Burial will follow at the Twin Falls cemetery in Twin Falls, Idaho. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 7, 2005, at the funeral home.
Patsy Amanda 'Pat' Wheeler Smith
TWIN FALLS -- Patsy Amanda "Pat" Wheeler Smith, 62, of Twin Falls, passed away due to heart failure, Monday, Feb. 14, 2005, at Magic Valley Regional Medical Center in Twin Falls, Idaho.
Pat was born Feb. 9, 1943, in Caliente, Nev., the daughter of Elmer and Elda Conk Wheeler. She grew up and attended schools in Delta, Utah, and married
Orel Smith on June 1, 1963. They moved to the Magic Valley and have resided here ever since. She was a devoted and active member of the Jehovah's Witnesses for 48 years. Patsy was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Surviving Patsy is her loving husband of 41 years, Orel of Twin Falls; daughter, Teresa Newberry of Meridian, Idaho; granddaughters, Amanda Newberry of Meridian, Idaho, and Hannah Newberry and their father, Bryan Newberry of Twin Falls. Also surviving is her sister, Lerene Thomas of Delta, Utah; and brother, Arnold Wheeler of Magna, Utah.
A memorial service for Pat will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 19, 2005, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 2628 Whispering Pine Drive, Twin Falls, Idaho.
All arrangements are under the direction of the Parke's Magic Valley Funeral Home of Twin Falls, Idaho.
