Wilhelmine Elizabeth French Weinrauch Moss Hymas
Wilhelmine Elizabeth Hymas, 92, of Jerome, passed away Monday, Oct. 25, 2004, in Jerome.
Wilhelmine was born Jan. 9, 1912, in Chatham, Ontario, Canada, to Charles Arthur French and Margaret Eugena Pherrill. She married
Phillip Weinrauch and they had two children, Gloria and Carol. Phillip passed away in 1942.
In 1951 she married
Roland Patterson Moss in Canada, and then moved to Jerome where Allan joined the family. Roland died in 1968. She married
Floyd Hymas in 1979, and this year they celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary.
Wilhelmine was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held various callings throughout her life. She had a passion for nutrition and eating properly and was a 35-year breast cancer survivor. She was proud of her penmanship and continued to have beautiful handwriting all of her life.
She is survived by her husband, Floyd; daughters, Gloria (John) Elliott of Boise and Carol Lane of Tillamook, Ore.; son, Allan Moss of Wendell; stepchildren, Kathaleen (Blair) Braegger of Burley, Regena (Ross) Northover of Kirkland, Wash., Gwendolyn (Cloyd) Searle of Burley, Merle (Tracy) Hymas of Portland, Ore., Camellia (Tim) Morley of West Jordan, Utah, and Carvel (Dawn) Hymas of Burley. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two husbands and three brothers.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 30, 2004, in the Jerome LDS 7th Ward Chapel, 50 E. 100 S., Jerome, with Bishop Alan C. Leavitt officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. Interment to follow in the Jerome cemetery.

Ludwig Haight
Burley
Ludwig Haight, 89, a former Burley resident and business owner, died of natural causes on Friday, Oct. 22, 2004, in Boise. Ludwig was recovering from surgery at St. Alphonsus Hospital.
Born Aug. 4, 1915, Ludwig was the youngest of nine children born to Hector Caleb and Clara Josephine Tuttle Haight in Oakley, Idaho. Upon graduating from Oakley High School, Ludwig attended Albion Normal College.
Embarking on his sales and business career, he gained valuable experience working for the Salt Lake Tribune and Reliance Credit. During World War II, Ludwig joined the Army/Air Force and was stationed at Elmendorf Air Base in Alaska.
It was during this tour of duty that Ludwig met Lucille Iserman of Stillwater, Minn. On Sept. 12, 1944, they began their 57-year marriage. They moved to Burley in 1947 where Ludwig joined with his brother, Charles, to own and operate Haight Motor Sales, the Ford/Lincoln/Mercury dealership. During his 30-year run as "The Ford Man", Ludwig was highly respected for not only the success of the business, but his appreciation for the value of life-long relationships within the community.
Ludwig was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille; his brothers, Guy, Horton, Charles, Hector and David; and his sisters, Josephine, Claire and Helen.
Survivors include sons, John Caleb Haight of Grand Rapids, Mich., and James Peter Haight of Woodbury, Minn.; daughters, Christine (Johnson) of Lovelock, Nev., Marjorie Haight of Emmett, Idaho, and Kathryn Haight of Denver, Colo.; and six grandchildren.
Ludwig was devoted to his family, friends, church and community. He enjoyed sports and upland bird hunting. He was an avid golfer and his appreciation for the game was later exemplified by his utilizing his putter as a walking cane. He would often remind others he was just "playing through".
A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 29, at the Park Center Ward of the L.D.S. Chapel located at 2300 Bergeson St., Boise, Idaho. Friends may call to visit the family one hour prior to the service at the church. A private family burial will be held following the service at Pleasant View cemetery in Burley, Idaho.
Memorial contributions may be made to Oakley Historical Museum. Arrangements are under the direction of Relyea Funeral Chapel.
Hrafnhildur 'Habba' Ólafsdóttir
Hrafnhildur "Habba" Ólafsdóttir, 43, passed away on Oct. 23rd after a long, hard battle with cancer.
Habba was born in Keflavík, Iceland, on Sept. 11th, 1961, to Magna Gu Mundsdóttir and Ólafur Árnason. She was the youngest of their three children.
She graduated from Keflavík High School in 1978 and later moved to the capitol, Reykjavík, where she worked at IBM. In 1990 she was blessed with a daughter, the tiny little five pound girl was her life, her everything.
Those two brave girls moved across the ocean to start a new life in November 1993. Habba moved to Heyburn where her mother lived and later bought a house in Burley.
She loved to spend time with her daughter, Karitas, they were not only mother and daughter, they were best friends, they loved music and baking and their favorite was going to the movies.
Habba worked at Inspirations, first in Burley and later in Twin Falls. In January of 2002 she received the devastating news that she had a brain tumor and it was estimated that she only had one year to live.
She had a lot to live for and she fought very hard to see her daughter grow up.
The name Hrafnhildur means "war woman" and she owned up to that name as she surpassed all hopes and predictions and lived for three years.
In December 2002 she moved to Mountain Home, to live with her sister and family and in September 2004 she moved to Aaren Brooke Place, assistant living home in Mountain Home.
There are so many people to thank, Dr. John Gamboa and his staff at Cancer Center of Idaho and Dr. Paul Montalbano, neurosurgeon, who both went above and beyond; from Burley/Twin, Ken and Jane, Gary and Leann, Jan Naylor and family, friends and neighbors and all of those who were there for her and her family.
Habba is survived by her daughter, Karitas; sister, Magdalena Krajniak (Brian) of Mountain Home; brother, Gu Mundur Ólafsson (Helga) from Iceland; her father, Ólafur Árnason and family in Denmark; her stepfather, Melvin Pfeifer of Heyburn; nieces, nephews and a grandfather in Iceland.
She was preceded in death by her mother.
A memorial service to be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, Oct. 29th, at Grace Lutheran Church, 2422 American Legion Blvd. Mountain Home, Idaho. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cancer Center of Idaho, 9357 W. Emerald St. Boise, ID 83647, or Grace Lutheran Church, 2422 American Legion Blvd., Mountain Home, ID 83647. Memorial service is under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, Mountain Home, Idaho.
Florence Louise Goicoechea
Florence Louise Goicoechea passed away peacefully at her daughter's home in Silver Springs, Nev., on Oct. 26, 2004.
Florence was born on July 6, 1926, to Nora L. Copenbarger and Collin "Todd" Shangle in Buhl, Idaho. She attended schools in the Buhl-Roseworth-Dietrich area, and graduated form Buhl High School.
Florence married
Raymond G. Goicoechea on Sept. 2, 1944, in Elko, Nev. and the couple made their early lives together ranching in the Elko, Jiggs area. They later settled in the Ely area, raising five children. Florence was a devoted homemaker and a loving mother. To many, Mom was best remembered for her love of gardening and her green thumb, her love of animals and her ability to turn every house - no matter how humble - into a home. When her children were all in school, she resumed her education, becoming a licensed practical nurse.
Mom was preceded in death by her husband of 28 years on Oct. 28, 1972. A short time later she returned to Buhl, Idaho, where she lived and cared for her mother who also passed peacefully at home Feb. 8, 1985. Mom was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Two sons, David and Steven of Loyalton, Calif.; and three daughters survive her, Nora of New Haven, Conn., Lynn of Silver Springs, Nev., and Cynthia of Tucson, Ariz.; five granddaughters, two grandsons and four great-granddaughters complete her family.
A service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 1, 2004, at Burns Funeral Home in Elko, Nev. Viewings will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 31, and again from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday.
Mom will be laid to rest next to Dad in the garden.
Carl Thomas Darley
Carl Thomas Darley, 85, passed away Oct. 25, 2004, in Salt Lake City of complications from pneumonia.
He was born June 21, 1919, in Portage, Utah, to George and Mary Grace Darley. He served honorably during World War II and loved his life's work as an aircraft specialist that took him around the globe. He had an avid love for reading and learning.
He married
Zella Bassett, June 20, 1944, in the Salt Lake Temple. She died during childbirth in 1948. He later was married
to Lorraine Winger from 1952 to 1965.
While working in Japan, he met and married
Hisako Ishikawa. He lived in Japan for 30 years before returning to Utah in 1999.
He was preceded in death by Zella, Hisako; his parents; a son, Bruce Thomas Darley; and a brother, Lloyd Darley.
He is survived by daughters, Kathleen Wedin (Galen), Patty Conn (Kemp), and Zella Dahlquist (Charles); sisters, Lola Yearout (Mike) and Marie Garner (Eldon); and sister-in-law, Martha Darley; two brothers, Keith Darley (Maxine) and Grant Darley; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Interment will be today, Friday, Oct. 29, in Rupert, Idaho.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses who have cared for him over the past few years; and staff and friends at The Highland Cove Retirement Center.
James Russell Pasborg Sr.
Superior, Wyo.
James Russell Pasborg Sr., 68, of Superior, Wyo., formerly of Glenns Ferry, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2004, at Mountain Home, Idaho.
James "Jim" was born April 19, 1934, in Glenns Ferry, Idaho, the son of Ernest and Ina Pasborg. Jim received his education in Glenns Ferry.
Jim lived 10 lifetimes in his 68 years. He spent his adult life building beautiful homes, businesses, even churches. He had a special gift with his hands and he had a special love for nature and his family. Jim was also a hunting guide in Wyoming and he taught his children and grandchildren how to hunt, fish and enjoy nature. His legacy will live on in them. As long as there is one of us alive to tell his story, he will never die.
Jim is survived by his children, Shannon (Paul) Easter of California, Keith Pasborg of Boise, Shelley Berggren of Alabama and Jimmer (Pam) Pasborg of Wyoming; and his mother, Ina of Boise; two sisters, Patty Criscito of Colorado and Jill Wood of Boise; and one brother, Ernie Pasborg of Minnesota. Jim was blessed with nine grandchildren.
His father, one brother and one sister preceded him in death.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 30, 2004, in Glenns Ferry at Our Lady of Limerick, 113 W. Arthur. Memorial service is under the direction of Rost Funeral Home, Mountain Home, Idaho.
Mary Elizabeth Attebury
Mary Elizabeth Attebury, 82, died in Twin Falls, Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2004, surrounded by loved ones.
She was born June 3, 1922, in New Bedford, Mass.
She married
John Attebury in Kimberly in 1996. They moved to Twin Falls in 1999. Mary was a member of the catholic church, enjoyed meeting and visiting with people and crocheting.
She is survived by her husband of Twin Falls; one daughter, Mary Charles of Florida, and by several grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, one son and by her parents.
A funeral with rosary will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 1, 2004, at White Mortuary, "Chapel by the Park," with Deacon John McKinley, officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until time of service Monday at the mortuary.
Elizabeth 'Betty' J. Tree
Richfield
Elizabeth "Betty" J. Tree, 81, passed away Oct. 27, 2004, at her home, surrounded by her family.
She was born Nov. 16, 1922, in Mariposa, Calif., to Elmer L. Scott and Amelia L. Pendola Scott. Betty married
Delbert L. Tree on March 18, 1949, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They lived in Park City, Utah, Coalville, Utah, and moved to Richfield, Idaho, on Oct. 31, 1971. Betty was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in the Richfield Relief Society presidency and was the Carey, Idaho, Stake Primary President. Her greatest love was teaching the gospel of Jesus Christ. Betty served in the Southern States Mission in 1948-1949 and in 1990 she and Delbert served in the Philippines Taclobin Mission. She loved to put on community productions and loved to support community members with meals, cakes and cookies.
Betty is survived by her husband, Delbert Tree; six children, Deborah (Gerald) Blatter of Paul, Idaho, Lynn (Norma) Tree of Kenai, Ark., Charles (Allison) Tree of Richfield, Idaho, Letty (Bill) Clayton of Richfield, Idaho, Anita (Jed) Adamson of Aberdeen, Idaho, and Delbert (Katie) Tree of Richfield; and daughter-in-law, Denece Tree of Portage, Utah. She is also survived by 23 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, two sisters; her son, Edward J. Tree; and her grandson, Rex Tree.
A funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30, 2004, in the Richfield LDS Ward Chapel, Highway 93, Richfield, Idaho, with Bishop Charles Tree officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the church. Interment to follow in the Richfield cemetery. The family suggests that memorial donations be made in Betty's name to: Hospice Visions, 308 Shoshone St. E., Twin Falls, ID 83301.

Elizabeth P. Kerlin
Twin Falls
Elizabeth P. Kerlin, 84, of Twin Falls, went home to her Heavenly Father at SunBridge Care Center in Twin Falls on Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2004.
Elizabeth was born May 1, 1920, on her parents' farm in Weiser, Idaho. Her parents were Willis and Alverna Peterson. She attended school in Weiser, graduating in 1938 and then attended McPherson College in McPherson, Kan. Elizabeth received her teacher's certificate in 1947 and taught at Weiser, Idaho.
On Nov. 23, 1950, Elizabeth married
Dwight Paul Miller Kerlin at Weiser. To this union was born a son, Benjamin Dwight (Christine) Kerlin of Twin Falls, Idaho, and a daughter, Verna Kay (Stephen) Rich of Deltona, Fla. Elizabeth lived out on the family farm until her husband's death Sept. 17, 1962.
Elizabeth worked at many jobs to raise her children. She worked at Asgrow Seed Company in Filer, the Salvation Army Thrift Store of Twin Falls and J&P; Enterprises, Inc. She also worked at Skyview and Hazeldell Manors and the Twin Falls American Red Cross. Following her retirement, Elizabeth pursued what became the loves of her life, ceramics and traveling with her church group at the Baptist Church. She was a member of the Church of the Brethren and First Baptist Church of Twin Falls.
Elizabeth is survived by her son, Benjamin (Christine) Kerlin of Twin Falls; and her daughter, Verna (Stephen) Rich of Deltona, Fla.; her grandchildren, Jennifer (Gabe) McClain of Boise, Jason Dwight Kerlin of Twin Falls and Michael, David and Graig Rich of Deltona, Fla.; her great-grandsons, Tyler and Daniel McClain of Boise and Cyrus Kerlin of Twin Falls; her sisters, Margaret Norbom of Weiser, Idaho, and Wilma (Don) Hammer of Ontario, Ore.; sister-in-law, Virginia Bowman of Palmyra, N.Y.; plus many nieces, nephews and family.
They all loved and respected her and will feel this great loss in their lives. Mom, you always held the hand in our lives and will forever touch our hearts.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, Dwight Kerlin; her parents Mr. and Mrs. Willis Peterson; her parents-in-law, the Rev. B. D. Kerlin and Charlotte Kerlin; her sister, Mary Jane Peterson; and her brother-in-law, Norbert Norbom.
A celebration of Elizabeth's life will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 1, 2004, at Reynolds Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Ken Gould officiating. Burial will follow at Twin Falls cemetery. Friends may call from 3 until 8 p.m. on Sunday at Reynolds Funeral Chapel, Twin Falls.
