Hertha Wiest
Heyburn
Hertha Wiest, a 92-year-old Heyburn resident, passed away Sept. 13, 2004, at her daughter's home.
Hertha was born July 16, 1912, in Wishek, N.D., the daughter of Jakob and Karolina Gunch Weisser. She attended school in North Dakota. She married
Reinhold A. Wiest on Nov. 22, 1932, in Ventura, N.D. Following their marriage they farmed in Ventura, N.D. In 1943, they moved to Rupert and then to Paul in 1951. She worked for the local potato processing plants and helped her husband on the farm. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and jigsaw puzzles.
Hertha is survived by her three children, Gordon Wiest of Rupert, DeEtta (Max) Wilcox of Heyburn and Carolyn (Bob) Brown of Mt. Vernon, Wash.; eight grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Edward Weisser of Wishek, N.D.
She was preceded in death by her husband, one grandson, two brothers and four sisters.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 17, 2004, at the Trinity Lutheran Church, 909 Eighth St., with Pastor David Poovey officiating.
Burial will follow at the Rupert cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday evening at Hansen Mortuary Rupert Chapel, 710 Sixth St., and one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Memorial Fund.
Stephen 'Ozzy' Kelly Osborne
Stephen "Ozzy" Kelly Osborne passed away Aug. 23, 2004.
For those who loved and miss him, to remember the times we were blessed by his short life.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 18, 2004, at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 501 Fourth St. W. in Jerome, Idaho, call 732-8378. A potluck will follow the service.
James Grover Samargis
Jerome
James Grover Samargis, 77, of Twin Falls and formerly of Jerome, died Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2004, under the care of the Twin Falls Care Center and Hospice Visions.
He was born Feb. 16, 1927, in Idaho Falls, the son of Andrew Theodore and Corrine Cornwall Samargis. He grew up and attended schools in Idaho Falls, graduating from high school there. In 1947 he married
the love of his life, Naomi Barnes in Dillon, Mont.
Eventually they moved to California with their three kids and then had a fourth. After retirement from Jersey Maid they moved back to Jerome to run a dairy.
Among his passions, besides his family, were hunting, fishing, bs'ing at the local sportshop, boxing in his younger years and serving his country in the Navy.
Survivors include his four children, Jimmy Samargis of Idaho Falls, Janie Samargis and Ginger Thompson of California and Phyllis Johnson of Twin Falls. Also surviving are a brother, Francis "Tuffy" Samargis of Oklahoma; two sisters, Elaine Robbins and Dona Samargis; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Jim was preceded in death by his wife, Naomi; and three brothers, Ted, Frank and Steve.
A memorial service for James Samargis will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday Sept. 19, 2004, at the Hove Robertson Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Porter officiating. No viewing is planned. Funeral services and cremation are under the direction of the Hove Robertson Funeral Chapel and Cremation Service of Jerome.
The family would like to thank the staff of Twin Falls Care Center and Hospice Visions for their exceptional care.

Trixie Roberta (Guinn) Grosso
Trixie Roberta (Guinn) Grosso, 85, died on Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2004, in a Boise care center.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 17, 2004, at the Meridian cemetery, Meridian. Services are under the direction of Accent Funeral Home, Meridian.
Trixie was born on July 8, 1919, in Greeneville, Tenn., to Pearl Flora Russell Guinn and Charles Fox Guinn. In 1922 they moved to Jerome, and in 1937 to Gooding.
Trixie married
William Eugene Miller of Jerome, and they moved to Bliss where they operated the "Y-Inn" restaurant, lounge and truck stop. During the War Trixie took a job in Seattle working as a 'Rosie the Riveter' on B-29 aircraft. After the war ended she returned to Bliss, and in 1946 they sold the business, and moved to Kuna, where she helped operate a store until the late 1950s.
In 1960 "Trix" married
Raymond E. "Mugs" Grosso, and they made their home in Meridian. She was employed in the medical accounts department of Saint Alphonsus Hospital. Trixie and Mugs had many happy years together and especially enjoyed the fishing trips to Magic Reservoir in their motor home. After retirement they spent several winters with their snowbird friends in Yuma, Ariz.
Trixie is survived by her daughter, Flora Pearl Miller Collins of Port Angeles, Wash.; and son, William C. Miller (Stephanie) of Boise; eight grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her stepmother; her husband, Mugs; and daughter, Pauline Mary Miller Moeller of Spokane.
The family expresses their sincerest thanks to Theda Downing and the staff at Heritage Retirement Center for their loving and professional care. The family requests no flowers, but suggests memorials be made to a favorite charity.
Kacie J. Beadz
Hansen
Kacie J. Beadz, 16, of Hansen, Idaho, died Tuesday morning, Sept. 14, 2004, at St. Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, Idaho, following injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Kacie was born on Jan. 9, 1988, in Twin Falls, Idaho, the daughter of Kurt and Dee Ann Nieber Huddleston Beadz. She grew up and attended schools in Hansen and was currently in the 11th grade at Hansen High School. Kacie was involved running cross-country track for her school. Kacie took a lot of pride in herself. She was also a member of the Ascension Episcopal Church in Twin Falls.
Kacie enjoyed writing poetry, listening to music, art, shopping, animals and spending time with her family and friends; always making us laugh with her wonderful sense of humor. She was the friendliest person you ever met, which is attested by her many close friends and everyone who ever met her experienced her extreme acts of kindness and generosity.
Kacie is survived by her parents, Kurt and Dee; her two sisters, Katie and Hailey; her two brothers, Henry and Caleb all of Hansen; her grandparents, Geraldine Nieber of Filer; Ronald Beadz of Richfield and Elaine McCaskill of Kimberly. She is also survived by her niece, Jerika; and her nephew, Walter; many aunts, uncles, cousins and her close friends, Jason, Allison and Jamie. She will be greatly loved and missed by all.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Kalvin; her grandfather, Gilbert John Nieber; and two uncles, Larry Jones and Steven Jones.
A celebration of Kacie's life will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 20, 2004, at the Hansen High School with Father Brian Thom of the Ascension Episcopal Church officiating. Burial will follow at the Filer cemetery. Friends may call from 3 until 8 p.m. on Sunday at Reynolds Funeral Chapel, Twin Falls.
A memorial fund has been set up in Kacie's name at the U.S. Bank. Contributions may be given to any U.S. Bank branch, given to funeral chapel staff or mailed to Reynolds Funeral Chapel, P.O. Box 1142, Twin Falls, ID 83303.

Venna Pearl McMurdie
Buhl
Venna Pearl McMurdie, 91, of Buhl, passed away Friday, Sept. 17, 2004, at the Snake River Rehab and Living Center in Buhl.
Venna Pearl Boyce was born March 27, 1913, in Dempsy, Idaho, the second of 12 children born to Alvin E. and Minni A. (Byington) Boyce. Venna married
James "Rulon" McMurdie on Oct. 22, 1930. She devoted much of her time to church activities and caring for her family. Continuing from when she played girls basketball for Hagerman High School, Venna has always enjoyed sports.
Venna was an accomplished seamstress who made much of her own clothing; her creativity was also expressed in the ceramics she made and painted. Venna loved family gatherings and picnics. Many fond memories were shaped at the semi-annual brother/sister reunions.
She is survived by two sons, Larry (Betty Lou) McMurdie of Twin Falls and Wayne (Betty) McMurdie of Jerome; four sisters, Helen, Zelma, Alice and Julia; two brothers, Neal and Ted; 11 grandchildren; and numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her close friends, Golda (Ed) Roberts and Vivian Noble.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Rulon, in 1993; an infant son, Jerry K.; a daughter, NaDene; granddaughter, Lori; two brothers and three sisters.
A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2004, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Fair Street in Buhl. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Farmer Funeral Chapel in Buhl.
Helga Lechner Harmon
Jerome
Helga Lechner Harmon, 68, died Sept. 13 2004, at Magic Valley Regional Medical Center in Twin Falls.
She was born Aug. 9, 1936, in Unterleiderbach, Germany, the daughter of Ernst and Freida Wagenheimer Lechner.
She married
Clifford Harmon in Frankfurt Germany and soon after moved to the United States in 1962. They later divorced.
In 1979 she moved to Jerome where she worked for Tupperware. She was retired at the time of her death.
Survivors include her children. Edward Dieter Harmon, Twin Falls, Clifford Ernest Harmon, Twin Falls, and Connie (Douglas) Mehr, Lexington, Ky.; brother, Dieter Lechner, Frankfurt, Germany.
Her parents preceded her in death.
A funeral will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 18, at Hove-Robertson Funeral Chapel in Jerome.
Friends may call from 12:30 until 2 p.m. Saturday at the chapel.
Merril J. Glenn
Kimberly
Merril J. Glenn, 84, of Kimberly, returned to his Father in Heaven and his beloved wife, Betty, on Saturday, Sept. 18, 2004, at the Twin Falls Care Center, with his children at his side.
Merril was the fifth child of James D. and Margaret Malena Whitaker Glenn. He graduated from Kimberly High School and Albion State Normal School. On July 19, 1942, he married
Betty Jean Tyler at Bishop Dudley Whittle's home. They lived in Twin Falls a short time and then moved to Kimberly. Merril farmed all of his life west of Kimberly.
His pride and joy was his garden. He had his garden through the summer of 2003. He enjoyed rock hunting at Texas Springs and Rabbit Springs. He was a member of both the Magic Valley Gem Club and the Northside Gem Club. He also loved fishing. On June 19, 1964, Merril and Betty's marriage was solemnized in the Idaho Falls Temple.
Merril is survived by his three children, Merla (Dr. Jerome) Rees, Twin Falls, Carol (Jerry) Heath and Wade (Carolyn) Glenn, all of Kimberly; seven grandchildren, Jeannie Rees, Stacie (Ron) Hite, Mark (Christine) Rees, Jeri Anne (Doug) Vawser, Rick (Shelly) Heath, Chris (Alisha) Glenn and David (Korrina) Glenn; and 11 great-grandchildren, Wyatt and Betty Lynn Hite, Kyle and McCaleb Rees, Misty and Megan Vawser, Richard, Nick and Robert Heath, Daiden Glenn and Caden Glenn.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Betty; one brother, Del; and three sisters, Ona, Velta and Letha.
A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2004, at the Kimberly Stake Center, 3857 N. 3500 E., Kimberly, with Bishop Blake Gardner conducting. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. A viewing will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at White Mortuary's, Kimberly Funeral Chapel, 712 Center St. W. in Kimberly, and one hour prior to the services on Wednesday at the church. The family suggest memorials be given to the Primary Children's Regional Medical Center, P.O. Box 58249, Salt Lake City, UT 84158-0249, Twin Falls Care Center, 674 Eastland Drive, Twin Falls, ID 83301 or to the donor's choice.
