Samuel 'Sam' David Howell, 20
Samuel (Sam) David Howell was born Nov. 14, 1991, in Lewiston, to his parents, David and Marcella (Karki) Howell. He died in Lewiston on June 21, 2012, at the age of 20.
He graduated from Lewiston High School in 2010 and then worked with his family at Howell CNC and Machine.
Sam loved his spiritual brothers. He also loved the outdoors, going hunting, camping and riding motorcycles. He loved being with his family and friends. Sam was always there to help his brother, Thomas, and sisters, Sara and Lily. He helped everyone and enjoyed making people happy.
Sam is survived by his parents, David (Evis) of Lewiston and Marcella (Billy) of Weippe; his brother, Thomas of Lewiston and sisters, Sara and Lily of Weippe. He also is survived by his grandparents, Kenneth and Shirley Karki of Lewiston, Robert and Darlene Howell of Lewiston, and Janice Buck of Lewiston. Sam has many aunts, uncles and cousins who he loved very much. We all will miss him very much.
Services will be held at 7 p.m. Monday at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, at 1434 Ripon Ave., in Lewiston. Merchant Funeral Home in Clarkston, WA is handling arrangements.
Margie Annette Goodall, 64
Margie Annette Goodall, 64, passed away Friday, June 15, 2012 at her residence in Lewiston. She was born July 2, 1947.
Cremation will take place. There will be a graveside service held at the Weippe cemetery Friday, June 22 at 11 a.m. Following the service at 12 p.m., family and friends are invited to a fellowship luncheon at the Rebekah's Lodge in Weippe.

Larry Sharrai, 76, Orofino
Larry began life in Topeka, KS born to Clarence and Carrie Sharrai March 21, 1936. The family later moved to Twin Falls, and it was here in his late teens that he met Jo; his love, his wife and his partner for life.
He passed away Monday, June 11, 2012.
He served in the US Navy and then attended the University of Southern California before returning to Idaho, eventually settling in Orofino and working as the manager of the Employment Office until his retirement.
A long devoted member of Rotary, Larry lived for fellowship and the opportunity to be of service to others. He will be remembered for his newspaper columns, "Sharrai About That", and for the many fine singing performances over the years.
Larry's family includes Jo; Kevin and Jean Anne Sharrai of Rathdrum; Kecia Sharrai of Boise; and Adam and Noelle Sharrai of Valdez, AK; grandchildren Jayce, Carson, Tyler, Delaney, Ethan, Jane and Jess. He was preceded in death by his mother and father and siblings, Tiny Crystal, Bartholomew, Elsie, Oscar, Albert, Eula, and Mary.
If life is measured by the friends and love we create, Larry is top of his class.
Donations in his memory may be made to the Rotary Scholarship Foundation, Orofino Rotary Club, P.O. Box 482, Orofino, ID 83544, which will continue his desire to be of service to others.
There will be a Celebration of Life for family and friends, (partying, golfing, socializing, eating and drinking), will occur on July 29 at the Orofino Golf and Country Club.
Bonnie Louise Pearsall Spencer, 93, Orofino
Bonnie Spencer passed away June 9, 2012 in Orofino of congestive heart failure.
She was born Oct. 2, 1918, to "Ned" and Hester Pearsall in Lewiston. She had two sisters, Eva and Anna-bell. Growing up, her parents followed the agriculture industry and lived in the Lewiston/Clarkston area before finally settling in Orofino.
On Aug. 5, 1936, Bonnie married
Chester W. Spencer and they built their home on Orofino Creek. A year later, daughter Patricia Louise, "Patsy" was born and in 1944, son, Marvin William, was born.
During the war, they briefly lived in Vancouver, WA, while Chet worked in the shipyard, but headed right back "home" as soon as they could.
Bonnie and Chet moved to Orofino's Riverside in 2001, and lived with their daughter, Pat, after Chet had a stroke.
In 2011 she moved to Brookside Landing in Orofino and has been there since.
Bonnie was a wonderful cook and homemaker, never allowing a visitor to leave without first being sufficiently fed. She loved to flower garden, did beautiful needlework, raised fancy chickens, dogs, cats and "mothered" any stray that happened by. It didn't matter if they were two or four legged, or flew.
Many trips to the countryside for picnics or camping would find Chet digging up a bucket of "good dirt" for his sweetie because it would "work in good to their rocky hillside."
In 1959, her first grandchild was born. In all, she would have five grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren.
In her 93+ years she had witnessed many changes to family, the area, our country, and technology. She was very fascinated with being able to talk with grandchildren using the computer and actually seeing them talk back to her via Skype. She loved her many nieces and nephews and thought of them equal to her grandchildren.
Bonnie got a kick out of referring to herself as "living a 'hunderd' years."
We will miss being reminded to put our coats on, get our hands and feet warmed up, eat something and to close the door because there is a draft. Lucky for her the weather is perfect and the company lovely where her final home is.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edgar Owen "Ned" Pearsall and Hester Ollie Davenport; sister, Eva Pearsall Stevens; son-in-law, Bill Baldwin; brothers-in-law, Louie, Hank, John, and Evertt Spencer.
Survivors are daughter, Patricia (Baldwin) of Orofino; son Marvin Spencer of Orofino; grandchildren. Debra Jean (Joe Venneman) Boise, Don (Chris) Baldwin of Couer d'Alene, Diana (Keith Hamby) Oneonta, AL, David (Melanie) Baldwin of Boise, Betsy (Billy Ellis) Springdale AR; sister, Annabell (Sonny Schilling); sister-in-law, Rose Spencer Buchert.
A visitation will be held from 12 noon to 2 p.m. at Pine Hills Funeral Chapel in Orofino on Thursday, June 14 prior to the service, which begins at 2 p.m.
After the funeral, a graveside service will be held at Weseman cemetery, with Pastor Tristan Harvey officiating.
Friends and family are invited to a dinner at Orofino VFW following the graveside service.

Larry Lee Sharrai, 76, Orofino passed away Monday, June 11, 2012 at Clearwater Valley Hospital in Orofino.
He was born March 21, 1936.

Kathleen Leona Stewart, 65, Kamiah
Kathleen Stewart passed away on Wednesday, May 30, 2012 after a long fought battle with cancer at her Kamiah home surrounded by her family and friends.
Kathy was born on April 29, 1947 in Portland, OR to Bill and Esther (Miller) Buskala. She graduated in 1965 from Corvallis High School in Oregon. Kathy then joined the US Army and remained on the East Coast after she completed her tour of duty. She took great pride in being a veteran and serving her country. In 1974 she was reunited with her Nimiipuu family and over the years she spent time with loved ones in Portland, Oregon and Idaho. She attended Portland State University and worked in the health care field. She also worked for five years at the Casino in Worley while living in Plummer.
For the past 12 years, she has been with her partner, Walter Broncheau. They made their home in Kamiah. Kathy was very close to her new family and considered them her own. She was proud of being Grandma Kathy to their children and grandkids. Kathy had a zest for life that encompassed every minute of each day. Reading kept her current with events and issues; she had strong opinions and convictions and wasn't afraid to state them, which many will remember fondly. Strangers would become friends instantly from her amazing ability to be compassionate and caring. Most will remember her commitment and dedication to rebuilding the North Fork Church and the joy it gave her. Kathy was known for her tough strong exterior and will be remembered for her strength and grace and her deep faith battling cancer and commitment to family, church, and community. She also served as a trustee for the church.
Kathy was preceded in death by her birth father, Bill Buskala; birth mother, Esther Williams; stepfather, Buck Williams; adopted mother, Lela (Long) Tolles; sister, Loretta Brown; brothers, Jimmy Miller, Jonny Buskala, and Tom Long Jr.
Surviving her is her loving partner, Walt Broncheau; sisters, Claudia Welala Long, Mya Buskala, Vera (Bonnie & Bill) Ewing, Virginia Barnhart; and brother, Kenny Williams. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins who were all very special to her. She will truly be missed by all that knew her.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be conducted at the North Fork Church in Ahsahka at 10 a.m. on Saturday, June 9. A covered dish dinner will follow at the Teweepuu Center in Orofino.
Kathleen Stewart, 65, Kamiah
Kathleen Stewart, 65 died Thursday, May 30, 2012, at her Kamiah home.
Memorial Service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, June 9, at Ahsahka-Northfork Presbyterian Church in Ahsahka.

Clifford Eugene McIntosh, 86, Pierce passed away Friday, June 1, 2012, at Clearwater Valley Hospital in Orofino.
He was born July 31, 1925.
A visitation will be held at Pine Hills Funeral Chapel in Orofino on Thursday, June 7, from 4-6 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, June 8, at Pine Hills. Burial will follow at Lewis Clark Memorial Gardens in Lewiston.

Helen Arlene Bashaw, 94, Orofino passed away Friday, June 1, 2012, at Clearwater Valley Hospital in Orofino.
A visitation will be held at Pine Hills Funeral Chapel in Orofino from 1-3:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 7. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 11, at Pine Hills. Burial will follow at Weseman cemetery near Orofino.
Jack Norman Kime, 66, formerly of Orofino
Jack Norman Kime, 66, of Clarkston, WA passed away Wednesday, May 23, 2012, at the University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle, WA from complications related to pneumonia.
Jack was born Nov. 24, 1945, in Vancouver, WA, to parents Earl and Eleanor Kime. He attended school in Clarkston and Orofino before graduating from Pasco High School in 1964.
After graduation, Jack was married
briefly to Linda Lunders and attended Columbia Basin College, where he studied welding, drafting and design. He began fine-tuning his lifelong vocation in auto body repair, working for employers in the Tri-Cities and Boise areas. Jack continued his education at Boise State University and applied his talents during his service with the Army National Guard from 1966 to 1972.
Returning to the Lewiston-Clarkston Valley in 1972, Jack became shop foreman at Chuck's Auto Body from 1973 to 1988. It was shortly after his return that he met and married
Caryl Jurries. They were married
from 1973 to 1983 and welcomed a daughter, Stormi Dawn Kime.
In 1983, Jack experienced a life-altering moment when he was captivated by the skills of a firefighter as he put out a fire. Within days, he professed his dedication to the Clarkston Fire Department and joined the volunteers, where he served as captain for more than 20 years and as president of the Clarkston Fire Department Volunteers for more than 10 years. In 2001, he traveled to Ground Zero in New York with others as department representatives. He was humbled to receive the honor of his peers when he was chosen as Firefighter of the Year in 2011.
Jack became reacquainted with a high school classmate, Diana Snodderly, and they married
in 1984. They enjoyed much time together in the dream home he constructed over the course of two marriages and nearly 30 years.
Jack worked from 1988 until his unexpected retirement in 2002 at Bob Jackson's Auto Body. His work was an art; nothing less than perfect would do for him.
Although his appearance changed much due to a battle with esophageal cancer, his relentless work ethic, integrity and dedication was ever-present. He continued to partner with friends to build street rods, attend car shows and "wheel 'n' deal" for his next pet project. He could often be found at Mr. K's Table of Truth, just "telling lies to the boys."
Jack was happiest at work. Be it leading the weekly fire meetings, spearheading charity events such as MDA Fill the Boot, National Night Out, or being the calm but firm leader voicing order to his fire family to keep them safe at work.
Jack is survived by his daughter, Stormi; granddaughters Ravyn and London of Mesa, AZ; two sisters, Nellie Flatt of Malden, WA, and Charlotte Roberts of Kennewick, WA; a brother, Harley (Bud) and Jan Kime, of Kennewick; four stepdaughters from a previous marriage; along with 10 additional grandchildren, one great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews who adored their Uncle Jack. He was preceded in death by his parents.
A celebration of Jack's life will be conducted at a later date in July. Memorial donations can be made to Clarkston Fire Department Rescue One at 820 Fifth St., in Clarkston.

Betty Alice Wittman, 84
Betty Alice Wittman, 84, passed away May 27, 2012, at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Lewiston. She was born April 30, 1928, to Charles Preston Nash and Edith Matilda (Gates) Nash, in Snohomish, WA. She graduated from high school at Kalama, WA, in 1946, and was an LCSC graduate in 1970.
Betty married
A. Francis Wittman on Sept. 15, 1947, in Orofino. They lived in Culdesac from 1957-74 and lived in Lewiston from 1974 up until 2012. She worked as a licensed practical nurse at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center from 1970 to 1984.
She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America, American Legion Auxiliary, the Lewis-Clark Antique Power Club, All Saints Parish, and was a volunteer at the Idaho State Veterans Home. She enjoyed crocheting and embroidering, reading, working in her flower garden, traveling, fishing, spending time with family and watching her Western TV shows.
She is survived by her husband, Francis, five children, 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter and a brother and sister.
