Donald W. Starr, 68 Pierce
Donald Starr, a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away, Wednesday, Aug. 1, 2012. He died of heart failure at the age of 68.
Don was born Feb. 1, 1944 at the top of the Greer Hill in a model A car to John and Bonnie Starr. He attended 1st through 12th grades at Pierce Schools, graduating in 1962.
He worked at Cardiff mill, St. Regis Plywood mill in Libby, MT, for about 8 months, and 33 years at Potlatch Jaype Plywood mill, where he retired. Don was very interested in gold prospecting, reading, studying history and taking hikes with his dog Snoopy. He liked huckleberry picking and giving pieces of pie to almost everyone he met.
On March 20, 1970, he married
Janet Aileen Fisher, and she survives at the family home.
Don was preceded in death by his mom and dad and daughter, Gina Lynn Starr Barber. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth.
He is survived by his wife of 42 years, his son, Daniel Marc Starr (wife Amy) and granddaughter Evelyn; granddaughter, Angel Lynn Starr; and grandson, Dan Raymond. He is also survived by his great-granddaughter, Alexis Lynn Marie Martin. Survivors also include his brother, Darrel Starr, of Orofino; and sister, Marlene Trammell of Lewiston; as well as numerous aunts and cousins.
A memorial service will be held Monday, Aug. 13 at 6 p.m. at the Pierce Play Park across from the Pierce Community Center.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Timberline Schools, Pierce Free Public Library, or the Pierce Community Center.

Zachary Dean 'Zac' Wooster, 13, Orofino
Zachary Dean Wooster (Zac), 13 years of age, Orofino, was born in McMinnville, OR on April 11, 2000. He went to be with his Savior Jesus Christ early Saturday morning, April 13, 2013 in a house fire. The fire also claimed the lives of his brother Trevor, mother Rosemary, step-father Allen, as well as Zachary's best friend.
He is survived by his father, Jay P. Wooster, Orofino; aunts, Rachel Wooster, Orofino, Tracy Weese, Orofino; uncles, Tchad Wiley, Orofino, Ryan Wooster, Puyallup, WA, Scott Wooster, Sumner, WA; and cousins, Ariah Wooster, Tacoma, WA, Knute and Eric Betts, Portland, OR; great uncle, John Betts, Sweet Home, OR; grandparents, Roger Edwards, Lebanon, OR, Dee __ , Seaside, WA, Nandy and Kathy ( Grandma Fluffy) Rivera, Bonny Lake, WA; and great grandfather, Frank Lunka, Kent, WA.
Zachary grew up in areas of Seattle, WA, Salem, OR, as well as here in Orofino. He touched many hearts as he grew, showing his huge heart, and feisty attitude. His eyes would melt your heart in just a simple gaze.
Zachary Dean was not the average seventh grader by any means. He was always concerned with the feelings of others, over his own. His fire cracker attitude was equally matched by his soft, caring and loving heart of gold. He was just starting to come into his own and finding his own identity. He loved playing sports, he enjoyed playing football, baseball, soccer, or anything else sports related. His favorite football team was the Seattle Seahawks, and was his inspiration in his love of sports.
Camping and the outdoors were a favorite activity of Zachary's too. He cherished all the times camping with his father, Jay; his uncle, Tchad, and his grandparents. He loved to go gold panning with his uncle, John with his brother, Trevor. Zachary would even camp in the yard with friends, and his father.
Zachary was an honor roll student and loved playing X-Box with his friends and family. That was his normal location when you walked in the house. He loved spending time with his best friend Colby, as they shared the same birthday. His most memorable quote was "People need to chill out and stop stressing about their problems, because God is in control, and he is all that matters!"
His memorial service will be held at the Orofino High School at 10 a.m., Friday, April 26, followed by a gathering for friends and family at the city park, weather permitting. Memorial contributions can be made in their name at Lewis-Clark Credit Union, Orofino, Idaho. We are asking that if you have any Seahawks gear, please wear that gear at the memorial service in Zachary's honor.

Barbara Jean Wityczak, 64, Orofino
Barbara Jean Wityczak passed away in her Orofino home with her family beside her on Aug. 5, 2012. She was 64.
Barbara was born on May 7, 1948 in Los Angeles, CA to Christopher and Frances V. (Matetich) Brennan.
She graduated from Reading Senior High School in Reading, PA class of 1966.
Barbara married
Frank Michael Wityczak in May of 1971 in Reading, PA.
She worked for Teleflex International in Limerick, PA from 1969 to 1996 and the family then moved to their current home just outside of Orofino, Idaho. There she worked at Community Action Partnership from 2005 to 2010.
Barbara was a devoted member of St. Theresa's Catholic Church since moving to Idaho. She also was a board member of the Clearwater Youth Alliance, CSAW (Clearwater Substance Abuse Workgroup), the ManiYAC Teen Center, and the Orofino Drop-In Center. Barbara also ran Maniac Productions and was a founding member of the ManiYAC Teen Center.
Barbara leaves behind her husband, Frank Wityczak, of Orofino; her sons Jesse Wityczak of Astoria, OR and Joseph Wityczak of Moscow; her sisters, Lynn Hinsey and Joan Hoyen of West Reading, PA;. Jean Brennan of Morgantown, PA; and Christina Cubbitt of Virginia Beach, VA; and two brothers, Daniel Brennan of Hamburg, PA and David Brennan of Reading, PA.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Christopher and Frances Brennan.
A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, Aug. 8 at 11 a.m. at Pine Hills Funeral Chapel in Orofino.
Margaret Dugger, 83, Orofino
Margaret Dugger, a wonderful woman who loved deeply, cared greatly and laughed often, has reunited with Jim Dugger, her best friend and soul mate, in eternity.
She passed away peacefully on Aug. 1, 2012 at Clearwater Valley Hospital of heart-related complications at the age of 83.
Margaret was born Nov. 13, 1928 in Morrowtown to Everett and Lucy Leachman.
Margaret attended school in Morrowtown, Forest and Winchester where she met her loving husband, Jim Dugger. They were married
on March 5, 1945 and resided in Forest, Grangeville and Nezperce. They eventually moved to Orofino in 1962.
Margaret was a nurturing and very loving mother of three children, grandmother of seven and great grandmother of four.
She had an unwavering commitment to her family and her faith and was always willing to assume the role of caretaker, mentor and confidante to friends, relatives and to others in need. She actively participated in activities for various civic and charitable organizations. She was extremely creative and could provide solutions to almost any obstacle. She demonstrated this creativity in her love of painting, gardening, sewing, crafts and restoring antiques. She was an active member of the Orofino Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband, James Dugger; parents, Everett and Lucy Leachman; and brothers, Dale, Clifford, and Ed Leachman.
She is survived by Michael Dugger of Orofino, Donna Peters of Bloomington Il, Clayton Dugger of Freeman Creek; sisters, Linda Oversby of Chewella, WA, Leta Weidner of Post Falls , and brother, Harvey Leachman of Craigmont.
Services will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 7 at 1 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Orofino.
She will be missed greatly by her family and by those whose lives she touched. May she rest in peace and love forever.

James 'Jim' Allen Willis, 64, Orofino
James 'Jim' Allen Willis was born March 4, 1948 in Oakland, CA to Doris and Harry Willis. He died suddenly July 28, 2012.
Jim grew up in Oakland where he was employed by Pacific Gas & Electric. In the 70's he moved to the foothills of Calaveras County where he continued to work for PG&E; as a Water Systems Repairman for 33 years. He wanted to leave the city life and go where he could indulge in his passion for dirt-bikes and the outdoors and share it with his wife, Sara Stone, and their children Blaine and Naomi. When Sara and Jim divorced, he continued to live in Hathaway Pines with his daughter.
Upon retiring in 2005 he was finding California too crowded and moved to Orofino with his wife, Karen, mom and brother. He joined PLAY (Public Lands Access Year-round) and became involved with rights of motorized recreationists being able to ride on public lands. He was the current president of PLAY, a life-long member of the American Motorcycle Association and member of the International Oldtimers Motocross where he still raced.
Jim loved riding his horses, racing motocross and going trail riding and camping with family and friends. Jim always loved working on bikes and helping kids to not only ride but learn how to repair their own bikes. Moving to Idaho and owning enough property for our horses and growing hay fulfilled his retirement dreams.
Jim died doing what he loved most: riding dirt-bikes with friends on single-track trails in the North Fork area.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Chuck. He is survived by his children, Blaine and Naomi Willis of California; wife, Karen of Orofino and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Jim, you will be sorely missed by many, and may you ride your bike forever.
Lacey Anders Eddy, 31, former Orofino teacher's aide
Lacey Anders Eddy 31, of Riggins, passed away July 26, 2012. Lacey was born Nov. 2, 1980 to Tony and Robin Anders.
Lacey grew up in Lewiston and graduated from Lewiston High School in 1999.
She married
Ben Mack and they had a son Gabriel. They later divorced.
Lacey married
Chester Eddy and they moved to Lenore and she worked at the Orofino School District as a teacher's aide.
They later moved to Riggins, and in 2011 she started working at the River Rock Restaurant. They became her work family and they fell in love with and opened their arms to her.
Lacey's son Gabriel was her world and she loved and cared for him beyond measure.
Besides her husband, Chet, she is survived by her son, Gabriel Thomas Mack; her dad, Tony Anders, Culdesac; her mom and dad, Robin and Dennis Spickler; brothers, AJ Anders, Darin Spickler, Keith and Angie Spickler, Dusty and Tina Spickler, Shawn and Jerid Hilderbrand, all of the Lewis Clark valley; and grandparents, Yvonne Stevens, of the Tri Cities, WA and Dave Anders of Arizona.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Edgar and Betty Keen of Lewiston.
Lacey loved camping and the outdoors, and her work family at the River Rock in Riggins. Above all, she loved her son Gabriel and went above and beyond for him.
She will truly be missed.

Jaxon Jay Weldy, 3, Lewiston
Our precious "Little Man" Jaxon 'Bubs' Weldy, 3, of Lewiston, passed away July 30, 2012, at Clearwater Valley Hospital in Orofino from a sudden illness.
He was born Dec. 17, 2008, in Lewiston, to Elizabeth and Travis Weldy.
Jaxon wanted to be a fireman when he grew up. He played with fire trucks often. He loved playing and teaching his baby sister and best friend, Bella. He played ring-around-the-rosy with her.
He always enjoyed watching Bob the Builder and Mickey Mouse.
He loved doggies and kitties and he absolutely loved to dance. He enjoyed playing squirt gun hide-and-go-seek and blowing bubbles with grandmas.
He played soccer and video games with daddy. He played with Matchbox cars, toy planes and blocks. He helped his daddy fix things. He sang all the songs he knew on the radio. He loved to dig in the dirt, drawing, eating Top Ramen and bath time with mommy and sissy.
His favorite movie was "Cars." He enjoyed anything that had to do with Lightning McQueen, Toe Mater and Mack. He also enjoyed his new car bed that his uncle had just gotten him.
Jaxon had to talk on the phone with everybody who happened to be on the other end. He enjoyed swimming, building Lego castles, and sleeping with mommy and daddy.
He was so excited to go to school this month. He would often smell flowers that his mommy would get or that he would pick himself. He was a smart and very intelligent young boy who loved to clown around.

Public viewing is from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Vassar-Rawls Funeral Home in Lewiston. The funeral is at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with interment to follow at Normal Hill cemetery.
Before his untimely death, he got to experience his first camping trip, which included learning to fish and riding a four-wheeler with daddy while spending precious time with his family.
Daniel William Sullivan, 88, formerly of Cavendish/Teakean area
Sullivan, 88, formerly of the Cavendish/Teakean area, passed away July 12, 2012, at Life Care Center in Lewiston.
Dan was born Feb. 20, 1924, to George E. and Hazel (Long) Sullivan on a farm near Washtucna, WA. His father died when Dan was nine. He attended schools in Washtucna, graduating in 1942.
He was drafted into the Army, serving in the European Theatre from 1943 to 1946. He drove trucks and jeeps in Holland, France, Normandy, Belgium and Germany, and fought at the Battle of the Bulge. For a time, Dan was one of Gen. George Patton's drivers. Dan married
Gladys Wegner Feb. 29, 1948, at Cameron. They farmed at the Barr ranch at Riparia, WA, for a short time before moving to Cavendish in 1949. They bought a farm and made it their home for over 60 years.
He was a member of the Cattleman's Association, and various farming organizations. He enjoyed being a member of 'The Farmers' bowling team. In 1960, several neighbors learned they were about to lose the community park at Cavendish because it was not being maintained, so LeBaron Park Inc. was established. Dan helped with the logging and clearing of the land, drilling a well, building picnic tables and installing outhouses and fire pits. He served as president for the group for several years.
In 1967, Dan suffered a heart attack, spending many weeks at Gritman Hospital in Moscow. After his recuperation, he continued to farm and raise cattle. Dan also drove the Cavendish school bus for several years.
In the early 1970s, he realized his lifelong dream of learning to fly and owning his own Cessna 172, flying around the Northwest for many years. When the plane was sold, they bought a boat and spent restful hours at Dworshak Reservoir.
Dan was a member of Cameron Emmanuel Lutheran Church near Kendrick. After moving to Lewiston, he and Gladys enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Audrey Winn and Beulah Blankenship; brothers, George and Bernie Sullivan; and a daughter, Joanne, and her husband, Ralph McAllister.
Survivors include his wife, Gladys, of Lewiston; daughter, Lynda (Bob) Roberts; sons, Randy (Durelle) and Dale (Christy) Sullivan; brothers Syd (Janice) and Clark (Carol) Sullivan; eight grandchildren, Kevin (Angie), Eric (Kathy), Col, Stephanie, Jenifer (Jamie), Mark, Dayne, and Clint (Robyn); six great-grandchildren, Ashtyn, Riley, Blake, Brynn, Jake and Dylan; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service and celebration of Dan's life will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, at Trinity Lutheran Church, 920 Eighth Ave., in Lewiston.
