Ina Marie Jones, 71, born in Orofino
BURLEY - Ina Marie Jones, 71, beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend passed away Monday, Jan 31, 2011 at her home in Burley surrounded by her family.
Ina was born on Feb. 10, 1939 in Orofino, Idaho to Alvin and Deloris Wilson. She graduated from Nezperce High School in 1957. Following high school Ina pursued her dream to become a flight attendant and after graduating she chose to turn in her wings to marry the love of her life, Garth Jones. Ina and Garth were married
June 7, 1960, and had four wonderful children.
Ina enjoyed spending time with her family, camping and playing cards. She spent many hours with her grandchildren laughing and having fun playing her favorite video game, Dr. Mario, which usually ended with a victory. Bowling was another passion she shared with her family; earning a trip to national competition in Reno with daughters Joni and Kristine. Her competitive spirit is one that will be missed dearly. Ina also spent many quiet hours toll painting, crafting, and painting her husband's wooden creations; garden frogs and bird houses to name a few. Together they made many wonderful gifts for friends and family to cherish.
Those fortunate enough to know Ina knew she was devoted to her family and friends. Her laughter was one that started deep and erupted with joy. The familiar twinkle in her eye meant something mischievous or comical was afoot. Even while going through her recent battle with breast cancer, there was never a moment that she couldn't make others laugh with her wit and quiet humor. Sadly, while their memories of Ina are not lost, the cherished hugs that she gave them are no more.
Ina is survived by her husband, Garth; sister, Mary (Fred) of Boise; daughters, Debbie (Dallas) Doty of Boise, Joni (Brad) Norman of Idaho Falls, Kristine Jones of Heyburn; daughter-in-law, Christina Lott of Twin Falls; several nieces and nephews; eleven grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren with one on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Deloris Wilson; Aunt Louis Egan, and her son, Robert Jones.
As sad as we are to say goodbye, we have joy in knowing that Ina has gone to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ; where she will dance with Him on the streets of gold and wait for us to follow her into eternity. "Amazing Grace", her favorite hymn says it best, "When this flesh and heart shall fail, and mortal life shall cease, I shall possess within the veil, a life of joy and peace."
Memorial services will be held Saturday Feb. 5, 2011 at 3 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, 188 S Hwy 24 in Rupert, with urn placement to follow at Pleasant View cemetery in Burley. She received medals in the long jump, trap shooting, shot-put, and discus. She loved all types of music, and was active with the Orofino Dance Club.
