Brent H. Reynolds
Brent H. Reynolds, 17, a Moscow, Idaho, high school junior, died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound Tuesday.
He was born Oct. 9, 1981, at Seoul, South Korea. He was adopted by Steven and Cindy Lyden Reynolds of Moscow shortly before his second birthday.
He was active in Little League and Babe Ruth Baseball and also played football and basketball and was a member of the Moscow High School track and wrestling teams.
He was active in the Moscow Nazarene Church Youth Group and recently had participated in the Bible quizzing contest.
He was a member of the Moscow High Jazz Band and played the trumpet. He was a member of the school choir and played in the church orchestra. He had a great love of a variety of music.
He enjoyed playing golf, skiing, fly fishing and rollerblading.
He is survived by his parents at the family home in Moscow; one sister, Dione Reynolds of Moscow; and his grandparents, Stan Styer of Palouse, Wash., and Richard and Joyce Reynolds of Moscow.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Moscow Church of the Nazarene. The Rev. Dave McGarrah will officiate. Burial will follow at the Moscow Cemetery.
The family suggests that memorials may be made to the Brent Reynolds Memorial Scholarship Fund in care of Short's Funeral Chapel, P.O. Box 9131, Moscow, Idaho, 83843. The scholarship will be for the graduating student who has demonstrated compassion, genuine friendship and unconditional support to any and all fellow students throughout the years spent at Moscow High School.
Leah T. Port-Thill
Leah Tracy Port-Thill, infant daughter of Betsy Port and Toby Thill, was stillborn Wednesday at Whitman Hospital at Colfax, Wash.
She is survived by her parents at the family home in Moscow, Idaho; her paternal grandparents, Donn and Dorothy Thill of Moscow; her maternal grandparents, Ralph and Bonnie Port of St. Maries, Idaho; her great-grandparents, Cecil and Mildred Thill of Uniontown, Donald Drader of Pullman and Ruben and Hazel Marquart of St. Maries; and great-great-grandmothers, Anna Jones of Pullman, Wash., and Bernice Port of Troy, Idaho.
A graveside service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Moscow Cemetery. The Rev. Joseph Schmidt of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Moscow will officiate.
Short's Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
P. Lloyd Albert
P. Lloyd Albert, 84, died of age-related causes Sunday at the Boise Samaritan Village in Boise. He farmed in the Turnbow Flats area near Palouse, Wash., from 1940-1965.
Arrangements are pending at Kramer Funeral Home in Palouse.
Cecilia Alsager
Cecelia Alsager, 87, a 53-year resident of Moscow died of age-related causes Friday at Latah Health Services in Moscow, Idaho.
She was born July 1, 1910, to Patrick and Mary Walsh at Claremorris, County Mayo, Ireland. She had nine siblings.
She came to the United States in her late teens to join three sisters and one brother in Philadelphia, Pa.
She returned to Ireland many times during her first 10 years of living in the United States.
She married Melvin J. Alsager, a Moscow attorney, on Nov. 17, 1945, at St. Mary's Church in Moscow.
She had met him in Philadelphia, where he was stationed with the Navy.
Together they were active in St. Mary's Catholic Church and school, the American Legion and the American Legion Auxiliary, VFW, Moose Lodge and Catholic Daughters of America. They also were active in the Democratic Party locally, statewide and nationally. A highlight of her life was attending the 1961 inauguration of John F. Kennedy.
She worked for Sigma Chi Fraternity at Washington State University and the University of Idaho after her husband's death in 1980. She retired in 1990.
She enjoyed her home and raising her children. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed serving meals for guests.
She also enjoyed being with her grandchildren.
She is survived by one son, John Alsager of Spokane, Wash., and one daughter, Mary Margaret "Magg") Alsager of Lewiston, Idaho; three sisters, Nancy Tully of Havertown, Pa., Sally Randles of Philadelphia and Margaret O'Malley of Claremorris; two brothers, Tom Walsh of Claremorris and Geoffrey Walsh of Birmingham, England; and three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; two sisters, Mary Harperof Ardmore, Pa., and Delia Brady of Ireland; and two brothers, Jim Walsh of Springfield, Ill., and Patrick Walsh of Ireland; and a grandson.
A private family service is planned at her request.
Vassar-Rawls Funeral Home at Lewiston is in charge of arrangements.

Viola M. Jabbora
Viola M. Jabbora, 94, former Moscow, Idaho, resident, died of congestive heart failure Jan. 31 at her home near Royal City, Wash.
She was born Dec. 23, 1903, to William and Hanna Thompson Bronniche in Seattle. She attended grade school and high school there. She worked as an operator for Bell Telephone Co. and then in the catalog division for Sears and Roebuck. After marriage she was a homemaker.
In 1925, she married Bertin O. Gustavson at Seattle. He died in 1934. She married Charles E. Jabbora at Tacoma in 1941. He died in 1976.
She lived in Tacoma from 1937 to 1943. After marrying Jabbora, who was a customs officer, she lived in several towns along the Washington-Canada border. From 1946 to 1948 they lived in Moscow.
In 1972 she moved to the Royal City area. She enjoyed flowers and gardening. She was a member of the Catholic Church and the Catholic Daughters of the Americas.
Survivors include two sons, Charles E. Jabbora of Royal City and Wallace E. Gustavson of Clarkston, Wash.; a brother, Richard Bronniche of Mesa, Ariz.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister.
A viewing will be from 9-11:30 a.m. Tuesday at Vassar-Rawls Funeral Home in Lewiston. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Vineland Cemetery at Clarkston.

Lloyd J. Klemm
Lloyd J. Klemm, 50, of Genesee, Idaho, and a longtime warehouseman for Genesee Union Warehouse, died of a cerebral hemorrhage Wednesday at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Lewiston, Idaho.
He was born July 8, 1947, to John and Genevieve Lettenmaier Klemm in Moscow. He was reared in Genesee and attended St. Mary's Catholic School there. He graduated from Genesee High School in 1965. He attended Lewiston Normal School, now Lewis-Clark State College, where he was a Tau Delta Epsilon fraternity member.
He married Joanne Baune Oct. 27, 1973, at Grangeville, Idaho.
He was fond of watching his son play basketball and football. He also enjoyed Notre Dame football and helping his friends gather and work their cattle. He was a member of the St. Mary's Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife at the family home and his son, Cody, both of Genesee.
A funeral was today at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Genesee. The Rev. Robert Finucane of St. Mary's officiated.

Patricia M. Sundberg
Patricia M. Sundberg, 73, longtime area resident, died Saturday at Gritman Medical Center in Moscow, Idaho, from complications following a massive stroke.
She was born Jan. 1, 1925, to William J. and Louise I. Heriford Kottke in Belmont, Mont. She attended schools in Laurel, Mont., and graduated from high school there in 1942. Her family moved to Potlatch, Idaho in 1943. She worked at Potlatch-area logging camps and the Potlatch Hotel.
She married Lester T. Baker in 1945. They made their home in Potlatch where he worked for Potlatch Forests Inc. at the mill. He died in 1955.
She married Arthur J. Sundberg on Dec. 22, 1956, at Potlatch where they made their home. She worked at Fonks in Moscow for a year after her marriage. She was a homemaker after that.
She was a member of the Grace Lutheran Church, the Royal Neighbors, the American Legion Auxiliary and the Moose Lodge, all of Potlatch. She enjoyed bowling, fishing and camping.
Survivors include her husband at their Potlatch home; a son, W. Theodore Sundberg of Post Falls, Idaho; a brother, John Kottke of Spokane; a sister Norma Jensen of Columbus, Mont.; two step-grandchildren and six stepgreat-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold and Robert Kottke.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Potlatch Presbyterian Church. The Rev. Kathy Williams of the Elmore United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery at Palouse, Wash. A luncheon will follow the graveside service at the Log Inn in Potlatch. Memorials may be made to the Potlatch Ambulance Fund.

Shirley Ann Crandall
Shirley Ann Crandall, 60, longtime Moscow, Idaho, resident, died of cancer Monday morning at her home.
She was born March 18, 1937, to John and Elizabeth Anderson Grittner in Greenbush, Minn. She was reared and attended school at Roseau, Minn., graduating from high school there in 1951. She lived in Minneapolis for a time before moving to Denver, where she worked for a bank and Montgomery Wards. While in Denver she met James E. Crandall. They married on June 18, 1959.
They lived at Eugene, Ore., and Oswego, N.Y., for a time while he was in college, and in 1968, moved to Moscow where he accepted a position at the University of Idaho in the psychology department.
She was a homemaker, a communicant of St. Mary's Catholic Church and a member of the Women's League at the church. She also was a member of PEO, enjoyed golfing, bowling, crocheting, canning and cooking as well as traveling.
They lived abroad for a time, due to his position, but she especially enjoyed spending time with her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Julie Comstock of Moscow; a son, Jonathon A. Crandall of Moscow; six sisters Carol Plouff of Los Altos, Calif., Gloria Grittner, Betty Grittner, Joanne Lewis and Mary Luithly, all of Minneapolis and Diane Ward of Anchorage, Alaska; four brothers, Quentin Grittner of Roseau, Gary and Mark Grittner, both in Minneapolis and Terry Grittner in Nogales, Ariz.; her mother, Elizabeth Skime of Roseau; and two granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by her father, her husband James E. Crandall in 1993, and a son, James K. Crandall in 1996.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Moscow by the Rev. Joseph Schmidt.
The family suggests memorials be made to Gritman Home Health or to the American Cancer Society.
Services are under the direction of Short's Funeral Chapel in Moscow.
Dorcas 'Dee' Phillips
Dorcas "Dee" Phillips, 82, former Moscow, Idaho, resident, died of age-related causes Jan. 20 at Kennewick, Wash.
She was born May 14, 1915, to A.J. and Stella Henrickson in Moscow, Idaho. She was reared and educated in Moscow, graduating from Moscow High School.
She married Cecil Phillips in 1937. They owned and operated an upholstery store on Sixth Street in Moscow. They moved to the Tri-Cities, Wash., in 1949. She worked as a clerk in her husband's department store. She retired at age 76. He died in August.
She enjoyed her garden and was especially fond of her roses. She was active in her community and will be remembered for her music, singing and service to others.
She is survived by a daughter, Sharon Reed of Seattle; one sister, Esther Knapik, 90, of Moscow; four grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four brothers and three sisters.
A memorial service was held in Pasco, Wash., on Sunday.

Daryl W. Cameron
Daryl W. Cameron, 52 a longtime car salesman in the Quad Cities, died of colon cancer Tuesday at his Lewiston, Idaho, home.
He was born Nov. 21, 1945, to Clarence R. and Coreen E. Broenneke Cameron in Moscow, Idaho. He attended St. Mary's Catholic School at Moscow and graduated from Moscow High School in 1964. He attended the University of Idaho at Moscow for two years.
He served with the Idaho National Guard from 1965 to 1976 and worked for Safeway Stores in Moscow and Walla Walla, Wash., from 1966 to 1971. He worked for Prudential Insurance at Walla Walla from 1971 to 1973 and for Gibson's Men's Wear at Lewiston from 1973 to 1974.
He then began working in automobile sales, including stints at Lee Dinges Auto Center at Lewiston from 1974 to 1979 and 1981 to 1984, Wally Orvik Motors at Moscow from 1979 to 1981 and 1986 to 1989, Tony Copeland Ford in 1985, Neill Motors at Pullman from 1989 to 1996. He worked at Lee Dinges until September when ill health forced him to retire.
He married Linnea Lovaas Nov. 8, 1970, and they divorced in 1973. He married Cynthia Grieve Dec. 20, 1975, and they divorced in 1981.
He had been a member of the Clarkston, Wash., Lions since 1975, including terms as president and zone chairman. He was a past member of the Elks Lodge in Walla Walla and Moscow and a past member of the Moscow Jaycees. At the time of his death, he was serving as president of the Bryden Canyon Men's Golf Association at Lewiston.
He enjoyed golfing and playing cards.
He is survived by his companion of 10 years, Norma L. Everett, at their Lewiston home; his parents of Lewiston; a son, Cory R. Cameron of Lewiston; and two brothers, Gerald R. Cameron of Spokane and Michael R. Cameron of Genesee, Idaho.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Vassar-Rawls Funeral Home at Lewiston. The Rev. Joseph Schmidt of St. Mary's Catholic Church at Moscow and Fred Schmidt of Lewiston will officiate.
