Helen Beam Ulrich
Feb. 5, 1929 - June 28, 2007
Fruitland - Helen Jean Ulrich, 78, Fruitland, died Thursday, June 28, 2007, at home. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 5, 2007, at Canyon Hill Cemetery, Caldwell, under the direction of Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell.
Helen was born Feb. 5, 1929, at Perry, Okla., a daughter of Charles H. and Ruth R. Riggins Werner. She moved to Idaho in 1943. She married Clarence Beam in 1946. To this union four children were born: Tony, Connie, Ronnie and Randy. Clarence and Helen were later divorced. She married Raymond Ulrich in 1987 and they lived in Fruitland until their deaths. Helen and Ray enjoyed taking their miniature horses to parades, fairs and rodeos.
Helen was a member of the Ontario Seventh-day Adventist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Connie and Randol Vance, Middleton; sons, Ronnie Beam and Randy and Amy Beam, New Plymouth; nine grandchildren, Kathy Cosner, Keri Wahwassuck, Kandy Hardin, Tony Ocamica, Darrell Ocamica, Tim Vance, Mistie Vance, Roger Beam and Alex Beam; several great-grandchildren; three sisters, Lorabelle Hutchison-Wagner, Wanda Clevenger and Sama Delia Robinson; two brothers, Elmer Werner and Guy Darrell Werner. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Ulrich and her son, Tony Beam.
Gabriel James Flores
Feb. 24, 1978 - April 23, 2006
Payette - Gabriel James Flores, 28, Payette passed away Sunday, April 23, 2006. Graveside funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Friday April 28, 2006, at the Evergreen Cemetery, Ontario. Friends may call from 9 a.m. to noon, Friday at the Lienkaemper Chapel in Ontario.
Gabriel was born Feb. 24, 1978, in Ontario, to Jose and Maria Antonia Flores who were from Eagle Pass Texas. Maria passed away April 19, 2003. Gabriel loved being with his family and friends, playing basketball, camping and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Stephanie Flores; children, Jessica, Chaylene, Jose, Marisol Gabby and Gabriel Flores; father, Jose Flores; sister, Sandre and Oscar Tamez, their children, Oscar Jr. and Carlos A. Tamez; sister, Tina Cruz and children, Micky and Samantha Thomas.

Frances Margaret Klinkenberg Lewellen
June 4, 1906 - June 13, 2005
Salem - Frances Margaret Klinkenberg Lewellen, 99, Salem, died of congestive heart failure Monday, June 13, 2005, at Willson House, an eldercare home in Salem. A memorial was led by lay ministers Imy and David Cooley of the Salem Free Methodist Church Saturday, June 18, 2005, at Jason Lee Manor, Salem, and a family graveside service was led by the Rev. Dan Gardner of the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, Monday, June 20, 2005, at the Valley View Cemetery, Vale.
She was born June 4, 1906, to Margaret Sumter and Cornelius Klinkenberg in Tacoma, Wash. After living a few years in Olympia, she moved by train and wagon with her parents to Burns in 1911, and then to Nyssa in 1917. She graduated from Nyssa High School in 1925 and later, after working several years as a telephone operator, attended the Oregon Normal School in Monmouth in 1927 to 1928.
Frances taught the 1928 to 1929 school year in a one-room building on the east side of Cow Valley, a rangeland area between Brogan and Ironside. Total enrollment was four pupils. Also in 1929, she married John Lewellen who was ranching near the Bonita Post Office. The young couple was soon challenged to maintain a small ranch and provide for a growing family through the Depression and war years.
Finding ways to educate the children while based on a remote ranch became a struggle. During World War II, Frances was able to regain certification and taught the 1943 to 1944 session in another one-room school at Bridgeport. There were 11 students including three children of her own. Later in 1944, John and Frances bought a house in Vale as a home for her and their children while school was in session.
John passed away suddenly in 1953, and several trying years were needed to settle the estate. After probate, however, the estate provided support for the family while Frances completed a degree in education at the College of Idaho in Caldwell in 1962. Starting in 1959 she taught at Jamieson and Vale schools until retiring in 1971. Her favorite subject was fifth-grade science.
Her retirement began with continued residence in Vale while spending time with friends, some traveling and various activities including cooking at summer church camps. However, none of her immediate family remained near Vale. In 1982, a daughter and son-in-law living near Salem, Lee and Dawn Robberstad, helped Frances move to an apartment at Jason Lee Manor, a senior residence home in Salem. She remained at Jason Lee for more than 22 years and enjoyed it greatly. During these years of retirement, she busied herself with Bible study, church, reading, television, touring, crafts, flowers and visits with family and friends. Of these activities, church and Bible study were the most important. Frances' relationship to Jesus and her lifelong devotion and worship of her Savior and of His Kingdom were paramount to her being.
Frances is survived by five daughters, Thelma Seymour, Marie Anciaux, Lucile Steele, Carolyn Lewellen, K. Gail Carlson; and three sons, John W., Robert T. and Donald C.; many nieces; nephews; 16 grandchildren; and great and great-great-grandchildren. Her niece, Katherine Klinkenberg Freeman, living near Salem, was special in her retirement years.
Frances was preceded in death by her husband, John; her parents; all four of her brothers, William Theodore, Paul Lester, Lee Gilbert and Marion Callison; and three daughters: Levina Catherine, Mildred Louise and Dawn Ilene Robberstad; two grandchildren and two great-grand children.
Late in 2004, Frances' deafness, fading eyesight and infirmities of age obliged her to move to Willson House where more care was available. Special comforts for her during the last months were more frequent visits by family, company of devoted friends and the home ministry of the Salem Free Methodist Church.
Elizabeth Agusta Duborko

Caldwell - Elizabeth Agusta Duborko, 91, Caldwell, formerly of New Plymouth, died Sunday, Jan. 2, 2005, at Cascade Rehabilitation and Care Center, Caldwell. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 6, 2005, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, New Plymouth with the Rev. Bob Rowley officiating. Interment will follow at Park View Cemetery, New Plymouth. A viewing will be from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., today, Jan. 5, 2005, at Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel in New Plymouth. Funeral services and arrangements are under the direction Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, New Plymouth.
Elizabeth was born Dec. 20, 1913, to Henry and Augusta (Bock) Pook in Prairie. As a young girl she moved to Emmett to start first grade. She met and married Samuel Duborko Nov. 19, 1935, in Emmett. They made their home in New Plymouth where she lived until her health required her to move to Caldwell for assisted living and nursing care.
She was a lifetime member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in New Plymouth and a member of the Lutheran Women's Missionary League.
Elizabeth is survived by her three children, Jean (Ted) Hermann, Juniata, Neb., Leroy (Linda) Duborko, Parma, May (John) Lee, Caldwell; sister-in-laws, Betty Pook and Veva Pook; 12 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Sam; three brothers, Gerhard, William and Otto Pook; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Fern Elizabeth Miller

Nampa - Fern Elizabeth Miller, 85, Nampa, formerly of Payette, died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2005, at Trinity Mission Health and Rehabilitation, Nampa. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 6, 2005, at the Church of the Brethren, Nampa with the Rev. Jim Hardenbrook officiating. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Payette. A viewing will be from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., today, Jan. 5, 2005, at Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette. Funeral services and arrangements are under the direction of Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette.
Fern was born April 14, 1919, near Conway Springs, Kan., the second child of seven to Arthur T. Reeves and Pearl Beckner Reeves. The family moved to Oklahoma where Fern attended school and was active in church and 4-H. Fern attended college at Stillwater, Okla., and McPherson, Kan., until she married Erby Dean Miller Aug. 11, 1940. They moved to Oregon and then Idaho, raising their family in or near Payette, where they lived until 2000, then they moved to Nampa. Fern and Erby were lifetime Deacons in the Church of the Brethren.
Fern was a longtime Tupperware dealer and manager and then provided care for many area children.
Fern is survived by her husband, Erby; their son, Earl (Ina) Miller; daughters, Bethel (Ken) Feasenhiser and Gayle (Walt) Schroyer; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren; brothers, Calvin, Marvin and Joe Reeves; and sisters Hazel McKimmey and Phyllis Howard.
Fern was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Eugene Reeves.

Edward Daniel Wessler

Sacramento, Calif. - Edward Daniel Wessler, 79, Sacramento, died Friday, Dec. 10, 2004, of complications of strokes starting in June 2004.
Edward was born Sept. 15, 1925, in Ogden, Utah. He was the youngest of five sons of Anna Kowalski and Louis Clement Wessler. He is survived by brother, Frank Victor Wessler, Sacramento, Calif.; and Eliza Wessler, Sacramento, widow of brother, Charlie Wessler. Edward never married, but was close to numerous nieces and nephews, especially god-daughter, Valerie Marquet-Wessler and family, Orgeval, France.
Edward's childhood was spent in Ogden, Utah; he and his family moved to Ustick during his teen years, including high school in Meridian, eventually moving in 1942 to a large farm in New Plymouth. Here he farmed with his father and worked his own adjacent farm after graduation from New Plymouth High School in 1944. Edward helped his parents raise nephew, Edwin, 4, through high school for 14 years. After his father's death in 1958, Edward moved himself and his mother to Davis, Calif., in 1963, where he cared for her until her death in 1988. He began his almost 30-year University of California Davis career working in the experimental dairy, and later as a gardener, retiring from UC Davis in 1991.
Edward was very knowledgeable and deeply fond of classical music. Edward and a recent UC Davis Chancellor and family shared their love of music in their joint attendance at many local concerts for several seasons.
Edward traveled extensively and developed friends all over the world. His trips included the Vatican with his mother, and many trips to Europe, Scandinavia, and in the United States
Edward was an active member of the Davis community and St. James parish for 40 plus years.
The family plans a spring 2005 internment near the graves of his parents in the Ogden Cemetery.
Jack G. ‘Jud’ Judson Jr.
May 27, 1969 - Dec. 20, 2009
Spokane, Wash. - Our brother Jack (Jud), 40, died Sunday unexpectedly of natural causes in Spokane, Wash.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Fruitland.
Inurnment will follow at Park View Cemetery, New Plymouth.
Cremation and services are under the direction of Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Fruitland.
