Albert Lamont Jensen
Albert Lamont Jensen, 78, of Ashton, died Tuesday, March 23, 2010 at his home from natural causes.
He was born October 5, 1931 in Fayette, Utah to George Rudolph and Francis Eliza Mills Jensen. He was raised and attended school in southern Utah. He served in the Utah National Guard and was honorably discharged on March 23, 1950.
He married LuDean Judd on March 19, 1950. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple on November 14, 1952. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many positions.
He worked as a foreman for Simplot French fry company for several years in Heyburn, Idaho. In 1970, he moved his family to Ashton where he logged for Wocelka Logging Company. In 1981, he started a dairy herd and milked cows until his retirement.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He always enjoyed telling a good joke. He loved to spend time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, LuDean of Ashton, children, Delray (Barbara) Jensen of Ashton, Deanna (Layne) Carson of Declo, Idaho, Ronald (Janeth) Jensen of Chino Valley, Arizona, Arnold (Carol) Jensen of Ashton; a daughter-in-law, Gina Jensen of Ashton; sisters, Dolly Bardsley of Ephraim, Utah, Zada Wilcox of Ashton; brothers, Henry (Margie) Jensen of Caldwell, Idaho, Earl Jensen of Mt. View, Wyoming, Ivan (Elaine) Jensen of Evanston, Wyoming, Floyd (JoAnn) Jensen of Washington State, Rae (Gwen) Jensen of Idaho Falls; 25 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son Alvin Jensen, a brother Ronald Jensen; sisters Vada Frye, Ines and Ina Jensen, Bessie McKenna and Uzona Lynch; and a great-grandson Jacob Alexander Jensen.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 27 at the Ashton 1st Ward Chapel, with Bishop Lynn Ballard officiating. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Baxter Funeral Home in Ashton, and Saturday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Burial will be in the Pineview Cemetery.
Thelma Lenz, Ashton
ASHTON - Thelma Elizabeth Lenz, 86, of Ashton, died in her home on April 5, 2010, of natural causes.
Thelma was born August 27, 1923, the second of four children born to Fred and Selma Lenz, and raised in the farming community of Squirrel, Idaho, east of Ashton.' Her elementary schooling was in Kelly #6, a country school near the Lenz home. She boarded in Ashton to attend high school and graduated in 1941.
After returning from World War II, Norbert Lenz claimed her as his bride, his beloved "Jackie", on September 16, 1945. Their faithfulness and love for each other for nearly 65 years is cherished by their family.
She was a life-long member of Zion Lutheran Church, Ashton, where she served as organist for 55 years and was active in the Lutheran Women's Missionary League. Thelma enjoyed working as cook at the Ashton Senior Center for several years after raising her family. Her interests were varied-music, reading, baking, gardening, playing cards, and Bible study.
Thelma's gracious life of kindness and service to others was evidence of her love for Jesus Christ. She trusted Him in life and in death. Her prayer was that all, especially her family, would know the peace of sins forgiven and the joy of eternal life in Christ.
She is survived by her husband, Norbert Lenz, Ashton; sister, Maxine ' Troth, Lewistown, MT; brother, Fred Lenz, Ashton; six children, Ardie Kelm (Roy), Three Forks. MT; Wayne Lenz, Ashton; LaVern Lenz (Irit). Boise; Patti Schuldies (Darris) and Sharon Staeb (Rod), St. Anthony; Elaine Lenz, Idaho Falls; 14 grandchildren; and 20 greatgrandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her granddaughter Michelle Staeb; her son Clendon Lenz; and her sister Viola Lenz.
Funeral services will be at 11a.m. Friday, April 9, at Zion Lutheran Church in Ashton. The family will visit with friends from 6:30 to 8:00 Thursday evening at the Baxter Funeral Home and from 10-10:45 a.m. preceding the service at the church. Burial will be in the Squirrel Cemetery.

Phyllis Vera Burch
Phyllis Vera Burch, 88, of Ashton, died Thursday, April 8, 2010 of natural causes.
She was born August 22, 1921 in Marysville, Idaho to LaGrand and Mary Alice Hess.
She was raised in Ashton and graduated from Ashton High School.
She married David Lynn Burch in Deer Lodge, Montana.
He died on October 30, 1997.
She lived her life for her children.
She loved to cook big meals, going camping, fishing and hunting with her husband and family.
She will be dearly missed.
She is survived by children; Scott (Lynn) Burch of Ashton, Joyce (Mike) Metcalfe of St. Anthony, Gloria (Glendon) Bahr of Ashton; a brother Melvin (Valarie) Hess of Mesa, Arizona; 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brothers Robert Hess and Harvey Hess, and a granddaughter Lisa Palmer.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, April 13 at Baxter Funeral Home in Ashton.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 2 to 2:45 p.m. at the funeral home prior to services.
Burial will be in the Pineview Cemetery.
Heather Dawn Davidson
NAMPA –The six week search for Heather Dawn Davidson, 29, ended with the sad reality that she had likely passed away February 20, 2010, the day she went missing.
Heather was born April 7, 1980 in Pocatello, Idaho. Heather and her family lived in Eastern Idaho and Utah until she was eight years old. When she was nine they moved to Boise where she went to school at Amity Elementary and Lake Hazel Middle school. In 1993 Heather and her family moved to Fruitland where she lived until she graduated in 1998. During high school, Heather participated in cheerleading and dance team. She was a very goal driven person who did not give up easily. She proved this during her life on multiple occasions. She was well thought of by her teachers and peers.
Heather met and married Anthony Ashley in 2001 and was blessed with two sons, Dalen and Liam. Heather started taking massage therapy classes and was soon a certified therapist. She loved helping others and it gave her amazing satisfaction to see the happiness she provided from her service. She often volunteered to help her friends and family with anything they may have needed no matter how big or small. Heather and Anthony separated years later.
Heather met her current husband Bill “Fish” Davidson and was blessed with her third son Tre` and stepson Rain. One of Heather’s best qualities was her gift of motherhood. She truly loved being a mother and it shows in the way her boys have grown into such strong young men. She homeschooled her boys for the last year and loved adding teacher to her long list of talents. She was so proud of her family, which was evident in the smile on her face each time she talked about each one.
Heather was a lifelong student and always looked for ways to improve herself and her family. She often looked for others tp share her passionate beliefs with. She was always willing to teach others as well as listen to other ideas from her friends and family.
Heather never met a stranger. She made others feel at ease in difficult situations with her smile and easy going laugh.
Heather was an adventurous person, who loved the many camping trips she spent with her husband and family. She loved to snow board and was a beginning kayaker. She enjoyed being in the clean outdoor air and taking her family swimming in the clear mountain streams.
Heather is survived by her husband, Bill “Fish” Davidson. Her sons Dalen, Liam, Tre’ and stepson Rain; her parents Mikell Hite and Bruce Burrup; brothers and sisters Shane and Timbra Burrup, Kira and Brad Wilson, Christopher and Brandi Burrup; nieces, Madison and Kaylee, and nephews Mason, Brock, and Cole.
Heather was a truly amazing person who enjoyed the simple parts of life. She enjoyed being with friends and family and will be truly missed by those whose lives she touched.

Robert Lloyd Hansen
Robert Lloyd Hansen, 74, died Friday, April 23, 2010 in St. George, UT. He was born February 20, 1936 in Brigham City, UT. to Willis and Irene Hansen. He married Elaine Burt in the Logan temple May 26, 1954.
He was raised in Brigham City and graduated from Box Elder High in 1954. He attended Utah State University and graduated in 1958. Robert became a woodshop teacher at Ben Lomond High School where he taught for 30 years. He joined the National Guard and retired a full Colonel. He created several different businesses including F & H Fiberglass with Chow Felix in Ogden.
After retiring he moved to Island Park Idaho and started Aspen Grove Furnishings where he built custom log furniture. He was a master craftsman and created many beautiful things from wood. Not only did he teach his students he also passed on his great talent to each of his sons. He enjoyed fishing, being outdoors and spending time in the shop with his friends. He was a master Hand and Foot player and was a lifelong member of the International Hand and Foot Association. His favorite thing in life was spending time with his family. He and Elaine went on many wonderful trips and enjoyed spending time with their friends from Island Park and St. George.
He is survived by his loving wife Elaine, daughter Peggy (Dave) Barfuss Roy, sons Mike (Lisa) Hansen Eden, Quinn (Kris) Hansen, North Ogden, Reid (Judy) Hansen, North Ogden, 15 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and two more on the way. Brother Reid (Dalene) Hansen St. George, sisters Dorothy (Frank) Nielson St. George, Marilyn (Larry) Shulsen, West Jordan.
Funeral Services will be at noon Tuesday April, 27, 2010 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, located at 900 S. River Road . A viewing will be held one hour prior to services. In lieu of flowers Bob would appreciate contributions to your favorite charity.
Jason McCray 1972 - 2010
WEST YELLOWSTONE — Jason D. McCray, 38, went home to be with his Lord on April 6, 2010, after fighting an eight-year battle with cancer.
He was born on April 6, 1972 to Randy and Nikki McCray.
He grew up in West Yellowstone, where he graduated from high school in 1990.
Jason enjoyed playing the trumpet and computer science in high school, and he helped many friends with their computers and went on to make that his career in the military and after.
Jason joined the Navy after high school and served eight years.
He was a great musician playing in the Navy Band while stationed in San Diego, Calif.
He traveled all over the world, serving in Desert Storm, Kosovo, and Germany.
He met the love of his life, Christi Sides, while stationed in Omaha, Neb. and they were married September 28, 1996 in Sequim, Wash.
They have three beautiful children, Allen, Shelene and Duncan.
After he left the service, they made their home in Bothell, Wash.
Jason is survived by his wife, his children, his father Randy, his mother Nikki (David) Hilbert, his sister Brandi, many aunts, uncles, cousins, his niece and his grandmother, Lois McCray.
Jason will return to his hometown of West Yellowstone.
A memorial will be held in West Yellowstone this summer.
Jason's light will forever burn brightly in the hearts of those who love him.
Harold Calonge
ASHTON — Harold "Junior" Calonge, 79, of Ashton died Friday, April 23, 2010 at Teton Valley Hospital in Driggs of natural causes.
He was born February 5, 1931 in Ashton, Idaho to Harold Devon and Eva Katherine Smith Calonge.
He was raised and attended school in Ashton.
While in high school he joined the National Guard.
He was called into active duty and served during the Korean War.
He married Karla Wilcox on November 17, 1957 in Ashton.
They made their home in the Marysville area.
He was a farmer.
He farmed for himself and for area farmers.
He also worked for a time for the Fremont County Road and Bridge Department.
He was a member of the Ashton Community United Methodist Church.
He was involved with the Methodist Men, and the Odd Fellows.
He was a member of the Targhee Ridge Runners.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and riding snowmachines.
He loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife Karla, a son Gale (Amy) Calonge, a daughter Barbara (Forest) Hall all of Ashton, three grandchildren Ricki Mason, Brandi Ferguson and Nicole Calonge, and a great-granddaughter Bailey Ferguson; a sister Kay Kidd of Ashton and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 27 at the Ashton Community United Methodist Church.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the church prior to services.
Burial will be in the Squirrel Cemetery
under the direction of Baxter Funeral Home.
Military rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post 89.
