OSKALOOSA — Wayne Dean Barth, 72, of Oskaloosa, passed away Sunday, May 20, 2007, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center, Des Moines, following a short illness.
Memorial services will be held Thursday, May 24, at 11 a.m. at First Lutheran Church, Decorah. Arrangements and cremation entrusted to the Cremation Society of Eastern - Central - Western Iowa.

OSKALOOSA — Beatrice Ann Zeigler, 79, of Oskaloosa, passed away Saturday, May 19, 2007, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.
Following her wishes, she has been cremated, and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made St. Paul Congregational - United Church of Christ in Oskaloosa or to the Christian Opportunity Center of Pella, and may be sent to the Bates Funeral Chapel, 114 S. Seventh St., Oskaloosa, which is handling the service arrangements.

BROOKLYN — Jack P. Crosson, pharmacist, who owned and operated Crosson Rexall Drugs in Brooklyn for more than 30 years, passed away in his sleep at the age of 92 on May 22, 2007.
Services will be held at Grace United Methodist Church, Brooklyn, at 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 25, with burial at Brooklyn Memorial cemetery . Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, May 24, at Nevenhoven Funeral Home, Brooklyn. A memorial fund has been established.

OSKALOOSA — Jane R. DeGeest, 79, of Oskaloosa, passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2007, at the New Sharon Nursing and Rehab Center in New Sharon.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 23, at 10:30 a.m. in the Central Reformed Church in Oskaloosa with the Rev. Brice Hoyt and the Rev. Forrest Durham officiating. There will be a family prayer service at 10:15 a.m. in the west wing of the church. Burial will be in the Forest cemetery in Oskaloosa. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will begin Friday morning after 10 a.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel and the family will be at the funeral home Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. to greet friends and relatives. Memorials may be made to Mahaska Hospice or New Sharon Nursing and Rehab Center.

Her funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 29, at the North Mahaska High School Auditorium with Pastor Spencer Thury and David Pinkerton officiating. Interment and concluding services will follow at the Friends cemetery in New Sharon with Dale Schwechel officiating. Visitation begins at noon on Thursday, June 28, at the Harden Funeral Home in New Sharon with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday. A memorial fund has been established.

FARMINGTON, Mo. — Charles W. Van Waardhuizen, 58, of Farmington, Mo., formerly of Pella, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday at Barnes Hospital in St. Louis, Mo.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, Sept. 1, at 1 p.m. at the First Christian Reformed Church in Pella. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time at 1 p.m. at the First Christian Reformed Church. Interment will be made in the Oakwood cemetery in Pella. A memorial is being established for First Presbyterian Church of the Leadbelt, New Sanctuary Fund. Van Dyk - Duven Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

MOUNT PLEASANT — Alice Jean McCuen, 77, of Mt. Pleasant, formerly of Oskaloosa, died Friday, Oct. 5, 2007, at Park Place Long Term Care Unit in Mt. Pleasant after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Visitation for Alice will be held on Thursday, Oct. 11, beginning after noon until 7:30 p.m. at the Olson - Powell Memorial Chapel of Mt. Pleasant. The family will greet friends from 5:30 until 7:30 p.m. Thursday. Funeral services will be held on Friday, Oct. 12, at 10:30 a.m., at the First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Robert David officiating. Burial will be in the Forest Home cemetery . Memorials have been established to the First Presbyterian Church and Iowa Wesleyan College.

OSKALOOSA — Daniel Reid Obermire, 36, of Oskaloosa, died Thursday, October 4, 2007, of injuries received in an automobile accident.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Oct. 9, at 6 p.m. in the Central United Methodist Church in Oskaloosa with the Rev. Robert Dean and the Rev. Robert Morris officiating. According to Dan’s wishes, his body has been cremated. Visitation will begin Monday after 11 a.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel and the family will be at the funeral home Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. to greet friends and relatives. In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorials to be made out to the Central United Methodist Church or the Oskaloosa Middle School.

OSKALOOSA — Mikel Gail Conn, 56, of Oskaloosa, died Thursday, Oct. 4, 2007, at the Oskaloosa Hospital after a sudden illness.
Mikel will be missed greatly by all family and her close friends. She left behind many animals of her own and the ones of friends and family.
Mikel was preceded in death by her father, John Wallace, one daughter, Kassie Stier, her grandparents, and her dear friends, Caryn McMillian and Connie Silvers. A small gathering will be held at the Conn residence on Tuesday, Oct. 9, from noon until 6 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Conn Family for memorial of their choice. The Cremation Society of Eastern - Central - Western Iowa is assisting with the arrangements.

INDIANOLA — Vera M. (Tuttle) Bosveld, 85, formerly of Pella, passed away Thursday evening at the Good Samaritan Center in Indianola.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, Oct. 9, at 10 a.m. at the Oakwood cemetery in Pella. Visitation will be Monday from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Van Dyk - Duven Funeral Home.
