Bruce Rowe
Bruce Rowe, 68, of Pueblo, Colo., formerly of Sioux City, died unexpectedly March 28, 1997, at Yuma, Ariz.
A memorial service was held April 2, 1997, at Pueblo.
Mr. Rowe was born March 7, 1929, at Sioux City. He was raised in Sioux City and graduated from East High School in 1947. He moved to Pueblo in 1955.
Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Marilyn (Watson); his mother, Inez of Sioux City; five children; six grandchildren; two sisters, Mona Kelly of Sioux CIty, and Barbara (Marion) Cottrell of Albuquerque, N.M.; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, George and Elaine Watson of Sioux City; and two sisters-in-law, Janice (Carmen) Bornholtz and Beverly Lyle, both of Sioux City.

Mary J. Schaefer, 85, of Sioux City died Friday at a local nursing home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Monday, with the family present from 7 to 8 p.m., at Christy, Smith & Hockenberry Funeral Home.
Harold H. Wendt
Harold H. Wendt, 88, of South Sioux City died Thursday at a Sioux City hospital following a brief illness.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Becker-Hunt Funeral Home in South Sioux City. Visitation will be from 12:30 p.m. Tuesday until service time at the funeral home.

ORANGE CITY, Iowa - Mrs. Artie Van Gorp Vander Tuig, 99, of Orange City died Saturday at the Orange City Municipal Hospital.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the First Reformed Church in Orange City. Burial will follow in West Lawn Cemetery at Orange City. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Monday, with the family present from 7 to 8:30 p.m., at the VanEtten-Oolman-VanGelder Funeral Home in Orange City.
Alexsaundra Wingett
EMERSON, Neb. - Alexsaundra Kay Wingett, infant daughter of Clarence and Jodie (Graim) Wingett, was stillborn at the Pender Community Hospital in Pender, Neb., Friday, April 11, 1997.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Pender, with the Rev. Walter Behrens and the Rev. Patricia Mersh officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery at Pender. There will be no visitation. Munderloh Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Alexsaundra is survived by her parents; her maternal grandparents, Saundra and Douglas Frahm of Homer, Neb., and Enoch and Carla Graim of Sioux City; her paternal grandparents, Terry and Lorna Wingett of Thurston, Neb.; her maternal great-grandparents, Donald Cotton, and Mildren Graim, both of Sioux City; her paternal great-grandparents, Uldeen and Loren Strong of Pender.
Daniel F. Arthur
Daniel F. Arthur, 58, of Sioux City died Sunday, Dec. 7, 1997, at his residence of injuries suffered in an accident.
Memorial services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Christy, Smith and Hockenberry Funeral Home.
Mr. Arthur was born Nov. 26, 1939, in Storm Lake, Iowa, the son of George and Irene (Whitney) Arthur. He was raised by Art and Bess Ploeger.
He graduated from high school in Schaller, Iowa, and from Buena Vista College in Storm Lake with a bachlor of arts degree.
He held various positions in agriculture sales and consulting. He was currently a salesman for Office Furniture Wholesalers in Sioux City.
He was an environmentalist and enjoyed the outdoors.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon; a daughter, Heather Arthur of Kansas City, Mo.; two sons, Wade of Alta, Iowa, and Grant of Arthur, Iowa; seven step-children; seven grandchildren; a sister, Virginia Anderson of O'Neill, Neb.; and Art and Bess Ploeger's children, Margie, Dick, Carol Jean and Molly.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorials may be directed to the Nature Center at Stone Park or the National Arbor Day Foundation.
Trudy K. Brown
Trudy K. Brown, 55, of Sioux City died of cancer Sunday, Dec. 7, 1997, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at Wesley United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Dr. Charles Klink officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visit ation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. today, with the family present from 7 to 9 p.m. and a prayer service at 8 p.m., at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel.
Mrs. Brown was born June 11, 1942, in Sioux City, the daughter of Donald and Grace (Babcock) Kistner. She graduated from Leeds High School in 1961.
She married John J. Brown on June 8, 1963, in Sioux City. The couple lived in California and Montana, before returning to Sioux City.
She was employed at St. Luke's Regional Medical Center for 12 years and at the Siouxland Blood Bank for the last five years.
She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Brown was a foster parent for eight years, having taken care of 14 children. She enjoyed the outdoors, gardening and sewing.
Survivors include her husband; three daughters, Kimberly and her husband, John Brands, of Hawarden, Iowa, Karla Brown and her fiancee, Robert Copple, of Sloan, Iowa, and Keri Brown of Sioux City; a son and his wife, Christopher and Kellie of Sioux City; her parents of Sioux City; three brothers and their wives, Robert and Joan Kistner of Bloomington, Minn., Faye and Twyla Kistner of Sioux City and Ronald and Dot Kistner of Jefferson, S.D.; four grandchildren, Jeran and Hillary Grace Brands, Jordan Brown-Hansen and Brieanne Brown; four nieces; and six nephews.
Memorials may be directed to Wesley United Methodist Church.
Frances J. Kerby
Frances Jean Kerby, 87, of Sioux City died Sunday, Dec. 7, 1997, at a Sioux City hospital.
Services will be at 10:45 p.m. Thursday at the Holy Spirit Retirement Home Chapel, with the Rev. LeRoy L. Seuntjens, chaplain at Holy Spirit, and the Rev. Thomas E. Geelan, pastor of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. today, with a rosary at 4 p.m. said by the Catholic Daughters of America and a parish vigil service at 7:30 p.m., at the Larkin Northside Funeral Home.
Miss Kerby was born March 31, 1910, in Sioux City, the daughter of Daniel E. and Sarah (Jordan) Kerby. She graduated from Cathedral High School and attended the College of St. Catherine in St. Paul, Minn. and the University of Minnesota.
She lived in Baltimore, Md., Washinton, D.C., and Minneapolis, Minn., before returning to Sioux City in 1948.
She was employed as a claims representative with the Social Security Administration for 30 years. She also was employed in the office at Holy Spirit Retirement Home for many years.
She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, the Ave Maria Court 269 Catholic Daughters of America, the Holy Spirit Service Club and the Marian Health Center Auxiliary.
Survivors include a nephew, Bernard A. Haugan of Sioux City; and a niece and her husband, Mary Jane and John Bede of Sheridan, Wy.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Daniel and Edward Kerby; and four sisters, Mary H. Haugan, Louise O'Leary, Sarah Kerby and Ellen Kerby.
Memorials in her name may be directed to the Holy Spirit Retirement Home.

Emil G. Kliment, 72, of Sioux City died Monday at his residence following a sudden illness.

Pauline Wynn, 69, of Sioux City died Sunday, Dec. 7, 1997, at her residence following a lengthy illness.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Meyer Brothers Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. A.T. Washington officiating. Burial will be in Onawa City Cemetery at Onawa, Iowa. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Wynn was born June 14, 1928, in Monona County in Iowa, the daughter of John and Florence (Hupp) Gilgen. She was raised in Onawa.
She married Leland J. Wynn on March 17, 1947, in Spencer, Iowa. She was employed with Sioux City Battery, Palmer Candy and Unique Drapery.
Survivors include her husband; two sisters and their husbands, Hazel and John Berg of Milford, Iowa, and Mae and Lyle Mock of Whiting, Iowa; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a son, John, four brothers and three sisters.
Pallbearers will be Vernon and Charles Wynn, John Berg and Jim, Larry and Ronnie Feldhacker.
Edward "Eddie" Verbeski, 71, of Medesto, Calif., formerly of Sioux City, died Sunday. Arrangements are being made in California.

Ada M. Willer
MOVILLE, Iowa - Ada M. Willer, 96, of Moville died Sunday, Dec. 7, 1997, at a Sioux City hospital following a brief illness.
Services will be at 3 p.m. today at Moville United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Harold E. Werley officiating. Burial will be in Arlington Township Cemetery. McCulloch Funeral Home of Moville is in charge of the arrangements.
Mrs. Willer was born June 27, 1901, in Red Oak, Iowa, the daughter of Clarence "Ted" and Ida (Focht) Thomas. She moved to Colorado with her family before moving to Moville. She graduated from Moville High School.
She married John "Jack" F. Willer on Aug. 12, 1918, in Dakota City. The couple farmed near Moville until retiring in 1970, and moving into Moville. He died in Aug. 1973.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of Moville United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, the Wink-Sparks American Legion Auxiliary and the Rebecca Lodge. She enjoyed playing cards and gardening.
Survivors include two sons, Forrest and his wife, Helen, of Ventura, Calif., and LaVern of Sioux City; two daughters, Beverly and her husband, Don Bleil, of Remsen, Iowa and Betty Hill of Sioux City; 12 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, a son-in-law and a grandson.
Pallbearers will be Ronald and Tom Hill, David and Dean Bleil, John and Art Willer, Ken White, Riley Waltman and Jeff Bremer.
