Steven G. Dye
Steven G. Dye, 91, of 385 Bradley St., died Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2003, at The Finley Hospital, Dubuque.
Memorial services will be at 7 p.m. today at Siegert-Didesch Colonial Funeral Home, 390 N. Grandview Ave., where friends may call after 6 p.m. today.
Mr. Dye worked as a lineman with the Illinois Central Railroad from 1941, until his retirement in 1976. Prior to his work with the railroad, he was manager of the Dubuque Golf and Country Club, athletic director at the Dubuque YMCA and was a lineman for Northwestern Bell Telephone Co.
He was born on Sept. 29, 1911, in Dubuque, son of George and Rose Dye. He attended the former Columbia Academy in Dubuque.
He married Olive Mae Thelen on Aug. 31, 1937, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church; she died on Dec. 21, 2002.
Surviving are two daughters, Gretchen M. Lee, of Dubuque, and Marlynn E. Lemkau, of Kentucky.
Memorials may be given to St. Columbkille's Catholic School.
Janet C. Cesaretti
Mrs. Janet C. Cesaretti, 49, of 2584 Glenview Circle, died at 6:04 p.m. Monday, Aug. 25, 2003, at home.
Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Blades Hall Chapel at the University of Dubuque, with the Rev. Dr. Ann Hoch officiating. There will be no visitation. The Dennis Kitchen Funeral Home, 3860 Asbury Road, is in charge of arrangements.
She was born on Sept. 3, 1953, in Macomb, Ill., daughter of Forrest I. and Mary E. (Tenney) Wanninger.
She married Paul W. Cesaretti on June 4, 1977, at First Presbyterian Church, Macomb. Employment opportunities brought them both to Dubuque 10 years ago, when she became employed at the University of Dubuque and became director of grant proposal writing and coordination.
She grew up in Macomb, and graduated from Western High School. She attended Western Illinois University and earned her bachelor of science degree in home economics in 1976, and her master of science degree in college student personnel in 1981.
She loved art, gardening and beading. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are her husband, Paul W. Cesaretti, of Dubuque; a daughter, Megan Elizabeth Cesaretti, of Dubuque; a son, Matthew Paul Cesaretti, of Dubuque; a sister, Katherine (Allen) Farris, of Indianola, Iowa; three brothers, Charles (Debbie) Wanninger, of Port Huron, Mich., Steven Wanninger, of Belleview, Fla., and David Wanninger, of Sedalia, Mo.; and several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Forrest and Mary Wanninger.
In lieu of flowers, memorials my be given to the Wanninger Foundation of Western Illinois University, Maria House and the University of Dubuque.

MANCHESTER, Iowa - Gregory Scott Helmrichs, 54, of Manchester, formerly of Strawberry Point, died Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2003, at Regional Medical Center, Manchester, following a long, courageous battle with cancer.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at United Parish Church, Earlville. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery , Manchester.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home & Crematory, Manchester.

LANSING, Iowa - Herbert Bailey Sr., 77, of Lansing, died Monday, Aug. 25, 2003, at Thornton Manor Nursing Home, Lansing.
Memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Lansing. Burial was in Gethsemane Cemetery , Lansing.

LANCASTER, Wis. - Marilyn A. Callahan, 58, of Lancaster, died Tuesday, Aug. 26, 2003, at Grant Regional Health Center, Lancaster.
Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday at United Methodist Church, Lancaster, where friends may call after 10:30 a.m. Friday. Private family burial will be at a later date.

Edith C. Hillbo Schiltz
Mrs. Laverne (Edith Hillbo) Schiltz, 91, of Rancho Mirage, Calif., formerly of 718 Loretto Court, Dubuque, died Sunday, Aug. 24, 2003, in Rancho Mirage.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Lanham & Miller Funeral Home, Sparta, Wis. Burial will be in the Sparta (Wis.) Cemetery.
Surviving are two sons, James (Lois) Hillbo and Michael Hillbo; four step children, Richard J. Schiltz, Mary Ceil Schiltz Glandon, Kitsy Schiltz Heller and Martha Schiltz Smith; three grandchildren, 15 step grandchildren and 20 step great-grandchildren; a sister; and a very special friend, Ron Erickson, who saw that Edith always was well cared for and looked after her with a special devotion and love.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Gordon Hillbo; her second husband, Laverne J. Schiltz; two sisters; a stepdaughter, Jeannie Huberty; and her parents.
Roger R. Curry
DARLINGTON, Wis. - Roger R. Curry, 56, of rural Darlington, died suddenly of an apparent heart attack Monday, Aug. 25, 2003, at Memorial Hospital of Lafayette County, Darlington.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at United Methodist Church, Darlington, with the Rev. Larry Hakes officiating. Burial will be in Union Grove Cemetery , Darlington. Friends may call from 3 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Steil Camacho Funeral Home, 206 E. Harriet St., Darlington.
Mr. Curry owned and operated Curry Bros. Trucking. He also owned and operated Curry Insurance.
He was born on Feb. 14, 1947, in Dodgeville, son of Phillip and Dorothy (Muhlback) Curry. He married the former Jacqueline Ann Byrne on Nov. 7, 1977, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa.
Roger enjoyed farming and bowling, and he loved sharing Jackie's love of horses. He took great pride in his sons.
He was a member of the Lamont United Methodist Church and the Darlington District Fire Board. He also was a charter member of the Darlington Lion's Club and was a board member of Darlington Township.
Surviving are his wife, Jackie; two sons, Phillip and Joseph Curry, both of Darlington; a brother, Mike (Karen) Curry, of Darlington; a sister, Jill (Merle) Smith, of Evansville; a very special uncle, Daniel Curry, of Lamont; his father and mother-in-law, Joe and Jeri Byrne, of Shullsburg; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his aunt and uncle who raised him, Margaret and Russell Curry.
