Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at First Baptist Church in Algona. There will be graveside military rites conducted by the VFW and American Legion at Riverview Cemetery
in Algona.

Jeanette Ann Fouste
RIVERSIDE, Calif. Jeanette Ann Fouste, 72, of 1520 Glass Ave., Rudd, Iowa, passed away on Jan. 7, 2005, at the burial site of her recently deceased son at Riverside National Cemetery , Riverside, Calif.
She was born in St. Louis, Mo., at St. Anthony's Hospital on July 26, 1933, to Perry Russell Fouste and Estelle (Schlautman) Fouste. In 1944, her family moved to Mason City and were members of Holy Family Catholic Church.
Jeanette was a vivacious cheerleader and homecoming queen for the 1953 class of Holy Family Catholic School. She married her high school sweetheart, Gerald E. Herbener, and five children were born of this union.
She traveled with her husband, who was in the United States Air Force, to various locations including Alaska. In 1959, she encouraged her husband to go work for a new company forming in Des Plaines, Ill., the McDonald's Corp. This led them to owning their own McDonald's in Southern California, where she spent much of her time.
She was a joyful woman who touched all who came in contact with her. She could laugh with a teenager or play cards with the seniors. She loved Jesus and it showed in the way she lived her life and conducted her affairs. She was a cherished member of Praise Community Church in Mason City.
She loved her family most and was glad to be an encourager to all around her. She loved to play cards, garden, sing in church, travel, and try new things like snow skiing and jet skiing. But mostly she loved to laugh and have fun. She especially enjoyed her Rudd acreage which she liked to call Lone Pine Farm. The world will be a less brighter place without her.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and son, Gerald Russell Herbener.
She is survived by her sisters, Sandra Turnbull of Frisco, Texas, Sheila Pond of Henderson, Nev., and Linda Fouste of Mason City.
She also is survived by her children, Kathleen Esser and Kimberly West, of Mason City, Iowa, Karen Herbener, of Long Beach, Calif., Kelly Nelson (and her husband, Jim Nelson) of Phoenix, Ariz.; her grandchildren, Justin and Jeff Esser, Nicolas, Corey, and Clifton Nelson, and her great-great grandchildren Hannah and Celia Esser (known to them as Nana Bananga.)
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Grace Evangelical Free Church, 440 N. Illinois Ave. in Mason City. A luncheon will follow, with interment at Riverside Cemetery
in Rockford.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St. N.E. in Mason City.

Edna P. Miller
NORA SPRINGS Edna P. Miller, 79, of 907 W. Congress St. in Nora Springs, formerly of Rudd, died Wednesday (Jan. 12, 2005) at Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Rudd United Methodist Church, 611 Sixth St. in Rudd, with the Rev. Jim Turner officiating. Burial will be at Sunnyside Memory Gardens in Charles City.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Sheckler Colonial Chapel, 114 N. Hawkeye in Nora Springs.
Edna Pearl (Hines) Miller was born on July 3, 1925, in Borgess, Ill., the daughter of Edward and Lena Pearl (Lee) Hines. She graduated from Joy High School, in Joy, Ill. After high school, Edna lived in Alaska and Oklahoma.
Edna then moved to Illinois and worked at Jenkins Truckline in Moline, Ill., as a secretary.
While working at Jenkins Truckline, her son, John, introduced her to her future husband, Harold.
On Dec. 14, 1957, Edna married Harold Miller in Lamont, Iowa. Later in life, Edna worked at Diamond Transportation, Sears, and sold Tupperware, where she earned the nickname the "Tupperware Lady".
She enjoyed spending time with her family, crocheting, traveling, going out to eat with Harold, and making her famous baked beans.
She was a member of Rudd United Methodist Church in Rudd.
Edna is survived by her husband, Harold Miller, of Rudd; her three children, John (Ann) O'Donnell of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Maureen (Curtis) Schroeder of Guttenberg and Mary (Kent) Ullmann of Titonka, Iowa. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, Candace Davenport, Kathy Ann O'Donnell, Matthew (Tammy) O'Donnell and Michael O'Donnell of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Jessica (Kevin) Wallace of Dubuque, Iowa, Joshua (Barbie) Steere of New Hartford, Iowa, Jonathan Claycamp of Guttenberg, Iowa, Allison, Thomas, Emily, Chad Ullmann of Titonka; five great-grandchildren, Christopher and Adam Davenport, Danielle and Courtney O'Donnell and Brady Steere; several special nieces and nephews; one sister, Laura Rieverts, of Hillsdale, Ill.; two sisters-in-law, Edith Shepard, of Bella Vista, Ark., and Pat Hines, of Aurora, Colo.; and one brother-in-law, Clair Reiling, of Winthrop, Iowa.
Edna was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Mary and Ruth; two brothers, Earl and Frank; and two brothers-in-law, Morris and Lee.

Martha B. Morris
MASON CITY Martha B. Morris, 79, of 1449 Second St. S.E. in Mason City, died Tuesday (Jan. 11, 2005) at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa.
Memorial service will be held 1:30 p.m. Friday in the Wayside Chapel of First United Methodist Church, 119 S. Georgia Ave., with the Rev. Jim Stiles and the Rev. Jo Frahm-Watkins officiating. Inurnment will be in Elmwood- St. Joseph Cemetery
at a later date.
There will be no visitation.

Martha was born Nov. 11, 1925, in Mason City, the daughter of James C. "Jack" and Laura (Ford) Burkhart.
Martha was a longtime resident of Mason City. She was a graduate of Mason City High School class of 1943.
After graduating, she worked for Ma Bell. She was then employed by the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Army as a civilian and worked for Ogilvy Bakery.
She lived in Washington DC, North Carolina and Germany. She stayed home to care for her two daughters.
Martha also worked for Alco Discount Store until 1981.
Her most recent employment was at Job Service, helping older adults obtain employment. She retired in 1987.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church and enjoyed traveling, music and working puzzle books.
Martha is survived by her two daughters, Jeanne Morris of Mason City and Connie Thornbury of Agoura Hills, Calif.; one sister, two grand dogs, nieces and nephews.
Martha's parents, husband, Donald, and a sister preceded her in death.

Shirley Tietjens
MANLY Shirley Tietjens, 50, of Minneapolis, Minn., formerly of Manly, Iowa, died Sunday (Jan. 9, 2005) in Minneapolis, Minn.
She was born Oct. 31, 1954, to Merrill and Phyllis Tietjens. She graduated from North Central High School in Manly.
She was preceded in death by father, Merrill.
She is survived by a son, Dawson, of Minneapolis, Minn.; mother, Phyllis, of Manly; sister, Peggy, of Oakdale, Minn.; brother, Roger (Cheryl) of Kensett; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A gathering of family and friends was held Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2005, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Bradshaw (McDivitt-Hague) Funeral & Cremation Services, 3131 Minnehaha Ave. S. in Minneapolis, Minn.
A celebration of Shirley's life will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Bethel United Methodist Church in Manly, Iowa.

Eric Thomas Aguilera
MASON CITY Eric Thomas Aguilera, 28, of 516 First St. N.E., Mason City, died Tuesday (Jan. 11, 2005) at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa in Mason City.
A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 412 N. Broadway in Manly, with the Rev. David Kucera officiating.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the Bride Colonial Chapel, 110 E. Spring St. in Manly, with a public scriptural wake service at 6 p.m.
Following the funeral mass and according to his wishes his body will be cremated.
Eric Thomas Aguilera was born on Nov. 23, 1976, in Mason City, the son of Thomas and Jackie (Anderson) Aguilera. Eric grew up in Manly until he moved to Hollandale, Minn., to be with his dad.
He attended and received his education in the Ellendale, Minn., schools and graduated from N.E.G.H. High School in 1995 in New Richland, Minn.
Eric enjoyed his family and the large family gatherings.
His interests were cooking and photography. Eric planned on going to college for horticulture in the fall.
Left to cherish his memory is his father, Tom Aguilera and his wife, Jan, of Ellendale, Minn.; his mother, Jackie Fromm, of Mason City; his brother, Brett Fromm, of Indiana; paternal grandma, Trina Aguilera, of Manly; paternal grandfather, Francis Peak of Hollandale, Minn.; maternal grandmother, Betty Anderson, of Mason City; a special friend, Cassie Hill, of Mason City. Eric will also be missed by many aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Troy; and two grandfathers, Joseph Aguilera and Otis Anderson.
