Margaret Leota Orr, 87, Winterset
Margaret Leota Orr, 87, of Winterset died of multiple system failure Thursday, Nov. 14, 2002, at Winterset Care Center South. Services were held Nov. 18 at St. Charles Parish in St. Charles, of which she was a member, with burial at the St. Charles Cemetery.
Mrs. Orr had lived in Madison County all her life. She had lived in the Macksburg area and in St. Charles before moving to Winterset 2 1/2 months ago. She was a homemaker and a member of Women’s Day Circle.
She is survived by her husband, Dale; a daughter, Barbara Daniels of St. Charles; seven grandchildren; and seven great - grandchildren.
Collins Oak Park Chapel in Winterset handled arrangements.

Donald L. Mumford, 81, Indianola
Donald L. Mumford, 81, of Indianola, died Tuesday, March 14, 2006, at Mercy medical Center from complications of lung cancer. A memorial was held March 19 at the Mumford home. A private burial will be at a later date.
Mr. Mumford was born
near Oakley on Oct. 18, 1924, the son of Jesse and Ethel (Godlove) Mumford. He grew up in that area and graduated from Norwood High School.
He enlisted in the Air Force and graduated from flight school at Texas A&M.; He then served with the 454th bomber group in World War II. He was also a member of the American Legion. He managed a locker plant and H.V. meat market in Hamburg and Shenandoah for eight years. He was an employee of Armstrong Rubber Co. for 28 years before retiring. He was a hunter and fisherman and enjoyed wildlife.
He was preceded in death by a son, Bud; and two daughters, Kae and Roberta.
Survivors include his wife, Lucille; two sons, Patrick of Papillion, Neb. and Matt of New Virginia; two daughters, Marcia of McKinleyville, Calif. and Jolee of New Virginia; a brother, Wayne of Redding, Calif.; 14 grandchildren; and eight great - grandchildren.

Lillie Martha Ogle, 89, Osceola
Lillie Martha Ogle, 89, of Osceola, formerly of New Virginia, died Sunday, March 12, 2006, at Osceola Nursing and Rehab in Osceola. Funeral services were March 15 at Kale Funeral Home in Osceola. Burial was at New Virginia Cemetery.
Mrs. Ogle was born
July 20, 1916, in New Virginia, the daughter of Everett M. and Mary Anne (Graham) Grant. She graduated from Indianola High School then attended Simpson College and Drake University. She taught school many years in rural Warren County. She married Glen Henry Ogle June 27, 1945.
She was a member of New Virginia Garden Club, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, New Virginia United Methodist Church and United Methodist Women. She was a 50 - year member of Neophyte Chapter No. 206 Order of the Eastern Star. She enjoyed tending to her flowers and cooking.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Glen H.; two brothers, Homer Grant and Everett Grant Jr.; and two sisters, Irma Spencer and Annabelle, in infancy.
Survivors include three sons, Tom of Grinnell, Rick of Reinbeck and Steve of Des Moines; a daughter, Mary McWilliams of Osceola; ten grandchildren; and a great - granddaughter.

Vivian R. Outland, Carlisle
Vivian R. Outland of Carlisle died Wednesday, March 8, 2006, at Taylor House in Des Moines. No services were held.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd; and her parents.
Survivors include three daughters, Cathy Labath, Debbie Lang, Theresa Gargiulo; two sons, Steve Joynt and Kerry Joynt; three stepchildren, Ronnie Outland, Vandy Outland and Janell Outland; a sister, Helen Leeper; and many grandchildren and great - grandchildren.
Elizabeth Rambow, 90, Indianola
Elizabeth “Libby” Rambow, 90, of Indianola, died March 16, 2006, at Westview Care Center in Indianola. Private graveside services and burial of cremains will be at a later date in the Maple Grove Cemetery in Audubon.
Mrs. Rambow was born
June 9, 1915, in Chadwick, Ill. and her family moved to Iowa the following year. She graduated from Audubon High School in 1933 and from Shimer College in Mt. Carroll, Ill. In 1940, she married Ralph Rambow and lived in Carroll. In 1957, the family moved to Indianola. She worked as the circulation librarian for Dunn Library at Simpson College for 24 years, until retiring in 1983.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Viola and William Kness; husband, Ralph; a brother, William, Jr. and a sister, Irene Jewett.
Survivors include her son, James of Indianola; and a sister, Isabelle of Walnut.

Doris M. Rose, 95, Indianola
Doris M. Rose, 95, died Sunday, March 19, 2006, at the Westview Care Center in Indianola. Graveside services will be at 1:30 p.m., Thursday, March 23, at the I.O.O. F. Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Indianola. Cremation will precede the services.
Born in Spencer, she had been a resident at Shirlee’s Retirement Home in Indianola for the past eight years. Previously she had lived in Spencer where she had worked as a grocery store cashier for many years.
Survivors include her son, Dean Rose of Indianola; a brother, Frank Rose of Spencer; and two grandchildren.

James T. Clendenen, 76, Indianola
James T. Clendenen, 76, of Indianola, died Monday, March 13, 2006. Memorial services were March 17, at the Trinity United Presbyterian Church in Indianola of which he was a member. Burial of cremains was March 18 in the I.O.O.F. Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Mr. Clendenen was born
in Pulaski and had served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was in the insurance business from 1953–1971, had owned Central Iowa Insurance Services, worked in car sales and drove for the Red Rock Area Community Action Program.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.
Survivors include his wife, Virginia; children, Julie VanderLinden, Becky Gripp and James R., all of Indianola; a brother, Howard Clendenen of West Des Moines; a sister, Betty Erhardt of Burlington; five grandchildren; and two great - grandchildren.

Ivan Hartz, 85, Melcher - Dallas
Ivan Hartz, 85, of Melcher - Dallas, died Sunday, March 12, 2006, at Knoxville Area Community Hospital. Funeral services were March 15, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Knoxville. Interment was in the St. Paul Cemetery in Lacona.
Mr. Hartz was born
Dec. 22, 1920, in rural Lacona, the son of Ernest and Dora (Langebartels) Hartz. He married Marvelyn Dalene Booth July 11, 1948. He served in the United States Army during World War II in Germany. He continued to be involved with former veterans as he worked at the Veterans Hospital as a janitor for 20 years. He camped, gardened and liked to learn history.
Survivors include his children, Steve of Newton, Ken of Roanoke Rapids, N.C., Nancy Schurman of Lacona, and Brian of Menomonie, Wis.; 12 grandchildren, six great - grandchildren; siblings, Frieda Schrader of Indianola, Earl of Tucson, Ariz. and Virgil of Newton.
