Carol M. Allender, 52, of Cherokee, Iowa, formerly of Davenport, died Friday, June 22, 2007, at Good Samaritan Center, Holstein, Iowa.
Services are 10 a.m. Wednesday at McGinnis-Chambers, Bettendorf. Burial is in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation is 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
She was born June 29, 1954, to Alex and Mary Rocha.
Surviving are her husband, Frank; children, Christine Nordstrom, Bettendorf, Rebecca, Joshua, both Cherokee; four grandchildren; father, Davenport; sisters, Laura Wagschal, Davenport, Mary Beth Rocha, Rock Island; brother, Daniel Rocha, Geneseo.
Joseph Grimoskas
Joseph A. Grimoskas, 84, of Davenport, died Friday, June 22, 2007, at Cedar Manor, Tipton, Iowa.
Services are 10 a.m. Tuesday at Holy Family Catholic, Davenport. Burial is in National cemetery , Arsenal Island. Visitation is 3:30 to 6 p.m. Monday at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries, Davenport, with a rosary at 3:30.
He was born June 9, 1923, in Sioux City, Iowa, to William and Anna Tvaskas Grimoskas. He married
Marjorie Kasten Sept. 8, 1947.
Surviving are his wife; sons, David, Glendale, Ariz., Dick, Tipton; grandchildren, Todd, Megan, Nicholas, Eric and Kristin; great-grandchildren; Dora Jean and T.J.
Ambrose Kearney
Ambrose D. Kearney, 7-year-old son of Bill and Nicole Kearney, Princeton, Iowa, died Friday, June 22, 2007, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, following a brave 3 1/2-year battle with acute lymphoblastic leukemia.
Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at Princeton Presbyterian Church. Burial is in McCausland cemetery . Visitation is 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at McGinnis-Chambers, Bettendorf.
He was born Jan. 4, 2000, in Davenport.
Surviving are his parents; brothers, Parker and Landon; grandparents, Dean and Ronda Siem, Princeton, Vicki Kearney, Eldridge.
Shirley Krambeck
Shirley A. Krambeck, 69, of Davenport, died Friday, June 22, 2007, at Genesis West, Davenport.
Visitation is 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Monday at Runge Mortuary, Davenport.
She was born July 25, 1937, in Minnesota, to John and Ellen O'Connor McCain.
Survivors and spouses are children, Angela and John Bribriesco, Michelle and Dan Reed, Renee and Tony Lamberson, Gina and Carlos Rivera, and Janene Krambeck and Brian Ruggles; special niece, Susan Clemons; grandchildren, Amanda, Adam, Ryan, Grant, Skyler, Anthony Aden, Anthony Lee and Ava; great-grandson, Ryan Jr.
William Huffman Jr.
William E. Huffman Jr., 81, of Belvidere, Ill., formerly of Rock Island, died Friday, June 15, 2007, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital, Greensboro, N.C.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 26, at National cemetery , Arsenal Island, with military honors presented by Moline American Legion Post 246. Those wishing to attend the services should meet at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island by 1:30 p.m. There will be no visitation.
Mr. Huffman was born Aug. 11, 1925, in Des Moines, Iowa. He married
Beverly Behn.
William was an electrical engineer for many years, along with being a World War II veteran, serving in the Army.
He is survived by his wife, Beverly; children, Marc Huffman, Greensboro, Nancy Alexander and her husband, Rick, Lake in the Hills, Ill.; grandchildren, William Edward Alexander and Michael Lee Huffman; brother, Robert Huffman, Rock Island; several nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members.
Ada King
Ada V. King, 97, of Rock Island, died Wednesday, June 20, 2007, at her residence.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, Milan. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at National cemetery , Arsenal Island. Memorials may be made to a favorite charity.
Mrs. King was born May 21, 1910, in Elizabethtown, Ky., the daughter of James H. and Nora Sauper McCubbins. She married
Herbert King in September 1936, he preceded her in death Oct. 5, 1972.
Along with being a homemaker, Ada was a noted poet and was known as the poet laureate of Friendship Manor. She loved working in her flower garden, and was a member of Grace Community Church, New Kensington, Pa.
She is survived by her son, James R. King and his wife, Sandra, Taylor Ridge; granddaughters, Laura King and Jana Behm; two great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, along with dear friend, Mickey Dotson, Rock Island. She was preceded in death by three sisters and one brother.
Floyd Sailor
Floyd J. Sailor, 104, a resident of the Silver Cross Nursing Center, Rock Island, died Thursday, June 21, 2007, at the center.
Visitation is 6 to 7 p.m. Sunday at the Wheelan-Pressly Funeral Home, 3030 7th Ave., Rock Island, where a Masonic service will be conducted at 7 p.m. by Trio Lodge 57 A.F. & A.M., Rock Island. Private graveside services will be Monday at Chippiannock cemetery , Rock Island. Memorials may be made to the Rock Island Park Board or to a favorite charity.
Mr. Sailor was born Sept. 26, 1902, in Mishawaka, Ind., the son of James and Wilhelmina Wilke Sailor. He married
Esther M. Palmer, Dec. 4, 1926, in Gary, Ind. She died Nov. 26, 1993.
Floyd moved to Gary in 1924 and worked in the steel mills until joining the Metropolitan Insurance Company in 1930. He retired from Metropolitan in 1966.
He was a member of Trio Lodge No. 57 A.F. & A.M., Rock Island, and was a Master Mason for 76 years. Floyd was a 32nd degree Mason since 1954 with the Valley of South Bend, Ind. He was a former member of Broadway Presbyterian Church and currently a member of Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church.
Floyd played golf until he was 92 years old and enjoyed fishing in northern Wisconsin. He was proud of his large family and of his age.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Deloros and D W Young, Rock Island; grandchildren (and spouses), Nancy (Larry) Jacobsen, Davenport, Patricia (Dennis) Heggen, Rock Island, DeWitt (Susan) Young, Rock Island, Susan (Dean) Hooks, Kirkwood, Mo., and Kristin (Keith) Sanders, Rock Island; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Olive Cannon
Olive L. Cannon, 87, of Moline, passed away Thursday evening, June 21, 2007, at Trinity Medical Center in Rock Island, following a courageous battle with cancer.
There is a visitation planned from 2-5 p.m. Sunday, June 24, at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline. There will be private family services at a later time, with the Rev. Jacqueline Perry officiating. Interment will be at Moline Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be directed to First Congregational Church of Moline.
Olive Lorraine Hilliard was born Feb. 4, 1920, in Ashton, Ill., to Isaac and Elizabeth Krug Hilliard. She was the youngest of three children. Olive married
Robert E. Cannon on Aug. 31, 1940. He passed away July 7, 1983.
Olive was honored to be a long time member of First Congregational Church in Moline. As a golfer, she was proud of having achieved two holes-in-one. She was also known as an amazing and highly sought-after bridge player, and in later years looked forward to those games with great anticipation. Olive did volunteer work in the area and was a member of a service sorority.
Olive was a woman of strength and strong character. She cherished her many friends and family, and words cannot describe how much love and devotion she shared with them. Her example was a source of admiration for those who knew her. She will be sorely missed, but she leaves behind many fond memories.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Carole Cannon, and grandson, Robert David Cannon, all of Moline. Her granddaughter, Rebekah Anne Cannon, lives in Cedar Falls, Iowa. She also leaves behind many dear friends who were a very important part of her life. Olive was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brother, Willard; and sister, Minetta.
Ralph Raaen
Ralph H. Raaen, 85, of Moline, died June 21, 2007, at Illini Restorative Care, Silvis.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, June 25, at Esterdahl Mortuary & Crematory, Moline. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home where further arrangements are pending.
Sheryl Fuller
Funeral services for Sheryl Fuller, 56, of East Moline, will be 10 a.m. Monday at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline. Burial will be in National cemetery , Arsenal Island. Visitation will be 2-5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Fuller died Thursday, June 21, 2007, at Genesis Medical Center, Illini Campus, Silvis. In lieu of flowers and gifts, memorials may be made to the family.
Sheryl Klingibiel was born Aug. 30, 1950, in Moline, the daughter of Chester and Anna May Vinstrand Klingibiel. She married
Larry Fuller Sept. 22, 1973, in Moline.
She had worked at Illini Hospital as emergency room secretary for the last 10 years.
Sheryl loved winter, snowmen and especially Christmas. She enjoyed feeding the birds, gardening and cooking. She was a loving wife and mother.
Survivors include her husband, Larry Fuller, East Moline; sons, Steven Fuller, Moline, Jason Fuller, Davenport; mother, Anna May Klingibiel, East Moline. She was preceded in death by her father.
Cherri Duncan
Cherri Duncan, 58, of Bagley, Wis., formerly of Colona, passed away Wednesday, June 20, 2007, at Gunderson Lutheran Medical Center, La Crosse, Wis.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Monday at Vandemore Funeral Home, Geneseo. The Rev. Steve Kettlekamp will officiate. Burial will be in the Dayton Corners cemetery , Colona. Friends may call from 5-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be left to the Bagley First Responders.
Cherri was born on Jan. 28, 1949, in Geneseo, the daughter of Raymond and Violet Belha Rahn. She was a 1967 graduate of Geneseo High School. Cherri was united in marriage to Wayne Duncan on Oct. 3, 1975, at Colona United Methodist Church.
She had been employed at the Geneseo Telephone Company for seven years, Illinois Bell Telephone Company, Moline, for 15 years and Ohio Bell Telephone for five years, from which she retired in 1992.
Cherri was a member of Colona United Methodist Church and Red Hat Ladies of Bagley.
She enjoyed planning organizations for her neighborhood, playing dominos, and going to yard sales with friends.
Survivors include her husband, Wayne; two stepdaughters (and spouse), Theresa (Doni) Isenberger, East Moline, Rene Hoover, Waverly, Iowa; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; half-brother, Darrell Machalek, LeClaire. She was preceded in death by her parents.
AnnMarie Johnson
AnnMarie "Ann" Johnson, 36, of Kewanee, died Thursday, June 21, 2007, in Kewanee.
Cremation rites have been accorded and a celebration of her life will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, June 24, at the first pavilion in Johnson State Park, rural Kewanee.
Ann was born Dec. 10, 1970, in Waukesha, Wis., the daughter of Patricia Swartz.
She is survived by her stepfather, John Mueller, Waukesha, Wis.; one son, Cody Michael Johnson, Kewanee; four daughters, Jennifer A. Miller, Megan Marie Myers, Dallas Elizabeth Johnson and Paige Lynn Johnson, all of Kewanee; one brother, Robert Myers, Waukesha; a special friend, "Joe"; several stepbrothers and sisters and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother and one daughter in infancy, Desirae.
Ruth Kelly
Ruth Kelly, 95, a resident of Seminary Manor, Galesburg, formerly of Altona, died Thursday, June 21, 2007, at the manor.
Services are 2 p.m. Tuesday, June 26, at Rux Funeral Home, Galva. Visitation will be from 6-7:30 p.m. Monday, June 25, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Evergreen Memory Gardens, Kewanee.
She was born July 2, 1911, in New Sharon, Iowa, the daughter of Lamont C. and Myrtle Sanders Stilwell. She married
Thomas W. "Jack" Kelly on June 22, 1945, in Grinnell, Iowa. He preceded her in death on Jan. 14, 1991.
Surviving is one son, Thomas L. Kelly, Peoria, Ill.; two daughter-in-laws, Linda Kelly, Belton, Mo., and Jan Kelly, Altona; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and one niece, Kay Telfer, Princeton.
Thomas Moyer
Thomas Moyer, 79, of Monmouth, died Friday, June 22, 2007, at OSF Holy Family Medical Center, Monmouth.
Cremation has been accorded. Memorial services are 2 p.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church, Monmouth. Burial of ashes will be in Monmouth cemetery . Friends may call after noon on Sunday at Hoover-Hall Memorial Chapel, Monmouth, where family his will be present from 1 to 3 p.m.

Surviving are his wife; daughters, Debra (spouse, Tom) DalCompo, Algonquin, Ill., and Laurel (Mark) Walker, Moline; four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Mark Daniel Moyer; and one brother, John Moyer.

Cheryl was born Sept. 23, 1952.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
