Philip Heden, 63, of Bettendorf, died Sunday, Dec. 8, 2002, at Genesis East, Davenport.
Mr. Heden requested cremation and no services. Arrangements by Weerts, Davenport.
He was born Jan. 25, 1939, in Davenport to Philip Heden and Helen Heiser. He married
Beverly Wilkins in 1969 in Moline.
Survivors (and spouses) are wife, Bev; daughter, Laura (Eric) Lundgren, Rock Island; granddaughter, Megan Lundgren, Rock Island; sister, Beverly (Richard) Duncan, Bettendorf; brother, John (Beverly) Neely, Texas; and best buddies, Snickers and Snippet.
Esther Killion
Services for Esther May Killion, 85, of Davenport, are 11 a.m. Wednesday at Cunnick-Collins Mortuary, Davenport, with visitation 9 a.m. to service time. Burial is in Fairmount cemetery , Davenport, at a later date.
She died Sunday, Dec. 8, 2002.
She was born June 21, 1917, in Muscatine to Charles and Elsie Hancock Listebarger. She married
Lloyd Vernon Killion in 1964. He died.
Surviving are sons, Edwin Carstens, Montpellier, Iowa, and Dennis J. Kuehl, Davenport; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Geraldine Lange
Services for Geraldine Celia Mohr Lange, 87, of Bettendorf, are 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Bettendorf. Burial is in Mount Calvary cemetery , Davenport.
Visitation is 3:30 to 7 p.m. today at Halligan-McCabe-DeVries, Davenport, with a 4 p.m. rosary.
She died Monday, Dec. 9, 2002, at Genesis West, Davenport.
She was born Nov. 4, 1915. She married
Leonard 'Jerry' Stiles in 1944. He died in 1969. She married
Erwin Lange in 1984.
Surviving are husband; daughter, Barbara Schaecher, Indianapolis, Ind.; two grandsons; and sister, Lucille Wulf, Davenport.

Mabel R. Stow, 100, formerly of Bettendorf, died Monday, Dec. 9, 2002, at St. Joseph Nursing Home, Lacon, Ill.

Loretta `Lou' Beane
Services for Loretta 'Lou' Beane, 70, of Rock Island, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Wheelan Funeral Home, Rock Island. Burial is in Rock Island Memorial Park cemetery .
Visitation is 4-7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Memorial Christian Church, Rock Island.
Mrs. Beane died Saturday, Dec. 7, 2002, at Trinity Medical Center, West Campus, Rock Island.
The former Loretta Reddick was born Oct. 3, 1932, in Iowa City, Iowa, the daughter of Lindley N. and Rosella E. Ponchaud Reddick. She graduated from Rock Island High School in 1950 and from the Moline Public Hospital School of Nursing in 1953. She married
Dick Beane Apr. 27, 1956, in Rock Island.
Lou had worked as a registered nurse at the former Moline Public Hospital for 34 years. She was head nurse of 5th Floor North, Cardiac Unit, when she retired in 1987. She was licensed in Illinois, Iowa and Florida.
She was a member of Memorial Christian Church, Rock Island, the Moline Public Hospital Alumni, Rock Island Ladies of the Moose, Seminole Elks Lodge 2519, Seminole, Fla., and the Madera Beach (Fla.) American Legion Post Auxiliary.
Loretta enjoyed being with family and friends, dancing, walking the Gulf beaches, and going on cruises to the Caribbean.
Survivors (and spouses) include her husband, Dick; sister, Kay Keller, Largo, Fla.; sister-in-law, Joan (Donald) Young, Rock Island; adopted daughter, Pam Frankville, Moline; and many nieces, nephews and cousins in Iowa, Illinois and Florida.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Jennie St. Clair.
Bernard `Bernie' Sundeen
Bernard 'Bernie' R. Sundeen, 51, DeWitt, Iowa, formerly of Moline, died Sunday, Dec. 8, 2002, at DeWitt Community Hospital.
Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Sts. Philip and James Catholic Church, Grand Mound, Iowa.
Visitation is 3-7 p.m. Tuesday at Schultz Funeral Home, Grand Mound, which is handling arrangements.
Virgil Bradley
Virgil Bradley, 85, of Carbon Cliff died Saturday, Dec. 7, 2002, at Illini Hospital, Silvis.
Services are noon Wednesday at Schroder Mortuary, Silvis. Visitation is 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday at the mortuary. Further arrangements are pending.
Lucille Durward

Lucille M. Durward, 82, Resthave Nursing Home, Morrison, died Saturday, Dec. 7, 2002, at the home.
Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday at Morrison United Methodist Church. Burial is in Grove Hill cemetery , Morrison.
There is no visitation. Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home, Morrison, is handling arrangements.
She was born July 13, 1920, in Hanley, Saskatchewan, Canada. She married
Merle Durward July 13, 1938, in Clinton, Iowa. He died in 1994.
Surviving are two daughters, two grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and two sisters.
Donald Miller
Donald G. Miller, 64, died Saturday, Dec. 7, 2002, in rural Sheffield, Ill., in an accident while cutting down a tree.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Annawan. The Rev. Gerard VerHoye will officiate. Burial will be in Mineral cemetery .
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at Vandemore Funeral Home, Atkinson, with a rosary being recited at the funeral home at 3:30 p.m. Memorials may be left to the Don Miller Memorial Fund.
Don was born Oct. 25, 1938, in Mineral, the son of Glenn 'Sam' and Edna Roman Miller. He married
Merna Wright Dec. 4, 1992.
Don worked at International Harvester Works, East Moline, from 1957 to 1989, retiring as a foreman. He farmed with his son, Duane, in rural Mineral.
Don was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Geneseo Moose Lodge 990, the Mineral Bolder Club and the Annawan Bolder Club. He was secretary of the Western Illinois Bolders League for many years. Don was an avid rolle-boller. He enjoyed his grandchildren, farming, and having coffee with friends.
Survivors include his wife, Merna; son and daughter-in-law, Duane and Laurie Miller, Sheffield; daughter, Sandra Mannon, Kewanee; stepdaughter and son-in-law, Kathryn and Kevin DeJagher, Geneseo; stepson, Russell Roth, Moline; brothers, Danny Miller, Dunlap, Ill., and Richard Miller, Antioch, Calif.; three grandchildren, Jeremy and Jaidyn Miller and Dana Mannon; and three stepgrandchildren, Tara and Darren DeJagher and Alex Roth. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, and a brother.

Wayne John Sack, 75, Mount Carroll, Ill., died Saturday, Dec. 7, 2002, at University Hospitals, Iowa City.
Services are 11 a.m. Wednesday at Frank-Law-Jones, Mount Carroll. Private burial will be held later in Grove Hill cemetery , Morrison.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with a 7:30 p.m. Masonic service.
Surviving are his wife, Clair Sack, Mount Carroll; one daughter, Sara Coffman, Fayetteville, Ga.; sons, Craig Sack, Mount Carroll, Chris Sack, East Moline, Curt Sack, Savanna, Ill., and Cliff Sack, Moline; 10 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and one sister.
John Thornhill
John Leonard Thornhill Sr., 64, of Vallonia, Ind., died Friday, Dec. 6, 2002, at Jewish Hospital, Louisville, Ky.
Services are 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hardy-Close Funeral Home, Shepherdsville, Ky., with Brother Dexter Perkins and Brother Greg Underwood officiating. Burial is in Mount Eden cemetery .
He was a retired foreman for Carver Lumber Co. and a member of Shepherdsville Gospel Chapel Church.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Evans Thornhill; son, John Thornhill Jr.; daughter, Barbara Thornhill, Moline; stepdaughters, Barbara Crandill, Terry Henry, and Sandra Wood and Debbie Hogan, both of Moline; sister, Darlene Burton; and six grandchildren.
Hattie Woods
Hattie L. Woods, 89, Kewanee, died Friday, Dec. 6, 2002, at Kewanee Hospital.
Cremation rites were accorded. Services are 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Schueneman-Tumbleson, Kewanee. Burial is in Evergreen Memory Gardens, rural Kewanee. There is no visitation.
She married
Louis 'L.C.' Woods Feb. 6, 1965, in Kewanee. He died in 2000.
Survivors are a son, Charles Thomas, Sr., Kewanee; eight grandchildren, including Craig Thomas, Galesburg, and Norman Thomas, Kewanee; 12 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

Services for Grace E. DeGeeter are 11 a.m. Tuesday at Edwards Congregational United Church of Christ, Davenport. Burial is in Calvary cemetery , Rock Island. Visitation is one hour before services. Weerts Funeral Home, Davenport, is handling arrangements.

August 'Gus' DeGeeter in 1938. He died in 1963.
Survivors (and spouses) are two nephews: Louis (Norma) Wren, Riverdale, Iowa, and their three children, and Robert (Jordie) Wren, Friendswood, Texas and their three children.

Services for Thomas 'Tom' Katcher, 49, of LeClaire, Iowa, will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Asbury United Methodist Church, Bettendorf. The Rev. Dale Batchelor will officiate. Private family burial will be held.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Weerts Funeral Home, Davenport. Memorials to the American Cancer Society or LeClaire Boy Scout Troop 46 would be welcomed.
Mr. Katcher died Saturday, Dec. 7, 2002, at Genesis Medical Center, West Campus, Davenport.
Thomas Edward Katcher was born July 27, 1953, in Portsmouth, Va., a son of Edward and Dolores Folkwein Katcher. He was united in marriage to Patricia 'Trish' Shadle Jan. 27, 1978, in Phoenix, Ariz.
Tom worked in the engineering department of QuintCo, Moline, designing environmental-control systems.
He was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, Bettendorf, and was scoutmaster of LeClaire Boy Scout Troop 46. He loved his family and took great pride in being Josh's scoutmaster and coach, and supporting Julie's love of dancing. He also enjoyed fishing, golf, and playing softball.
Those who remain to honor his memory include his wife, Trish Katcher, LeClaire; daughter, Julie Katcher, a freshman at the University of Iowa; son, Josh Katcher, stationed with the U.S. Coast Guard at Cape Canaveral, Fla.; sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Bill Zellars, Sacramento, Calif.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bob and Jenny Katcher, Woodland Park, Colo., and Don and Sara Katcher, New Middletown, Ohio; nieces, nephews, and a host of special friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.
