OSKALOOSA — Gerald “Red” Anderson, 69, of Oskaloosa, died Friday, Feb. 1, 2008, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Feb. 5, at 1 p.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa with Pastor Del Bittner officiating. Burial will be in Forest Cemetery in Oskaloosa. Visitation will begin Monday after 4 p.m., and the family will be at the funeral chapel on Monday 5 to 7 p.m. to greet friends and relatives.

OSKALOOSA — Ruth M. Lane, 87, of Oskaloosa, and formerly of Cedar, died Monday, Feb. 4, 2008, at Crystal Heights Care Center in Oskaloosa.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Feb. 8, at 10 a.m. in the Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa with the Rev. Dan Ridenour officiating. The committal service will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Memory Garden Cemetery Mausoleum in Iowa City. Visitation will begin Thursday after 11 a.m. and the family will be at the funeral chapel Thursday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. to greet friends and relatives. Memorials may be made to Mahaska Hospice for a future hospice house.

EDDYVILLE — Gregory “Greg” A. Clark, 50, of Eddyville, died at 11:13 a.m. Feb. 3, 2008, at the Mahaska Hospital in Oskaloosa.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Reece Funeral Home with the Rev. John Spiegel officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Corners Cemetery in Eddyville. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Wednesday with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Memorials may be made to the family.

OSKALOOSA — Odessa M. Summers, 86, of Oskaloosa, and formerly of Fort Worth, Texas, died Saturday night, Feb. 16, 2008, at the Mahaska Hospital in Oskaloosa.
Visitation with the family will be at the Bates Funeral Chapel on Monday from 5 to 7 p.m.
Odessa will be taken from the Bates Funeral Chapel to the Greenwood Funeral Home in Fort Worth, Texas, for funeral services later this week. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery in Fort Worth.
Memorials may be made to the Gibson Presbyterian Church or the White Oak Presbyterian Church.

RALEIGH, N.C. — Elvin E. Hoover, 81, a long-time resident of Mahaska County, died in North Carolina on Feb. 13, 2008, of heart failure.
A memorial service will be held in Oskaloosa later this year.

MONTEZUMA — William “Bill” Bernard, 80, of Montezuma, passed away Sunday Feb. 17, 2008, at the Grinnell Regional Medical Center.
His body has been cremated. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Feb. 21, at the Holland-Coble Funeral Home in Montezuma with Pastor Jo Harry and Pastor Howard Lord Officiating. No visitation is scheduled.
A memorial may be made to the Grinnell Hospice or the Montezuma Fire Department.

OSKALOOSA — Mary Ellen McKearney, 78, of Oskaloosa, died unexpectedly Saturday, Feb. 16, 2008, at her home in Oskaloosa.
Celebration of Life services will be held Thursday, Feb. 21, at 6 p.m. in the St. Paul Congregational United Church of Christ in Oskaloosa with the Rev. Elizabeth Colton officiating. Cremation will follow the funeral.
Visitation with the family will be at the church on Thursday from 4 p.m. until service time.
Memorials may be made to St. Paul Congregational United Church of Christ or to the Humane Society.
The Bates Funeral Chapel, Oskaloosa, is in charge of the arrangements.

ROSE HILL — Gregory M. Meeks, 46, of Rose Hill, died Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2007, at his home near Rose Hill.
As was Greg’s wish, his body has been cremated. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Oct. 13, at 2 p.m. in the Rose Hill Community Church in Rose Hill with the Rev. Del Bittner officiating. Flowers may be sent to the Rose Hill Community Church.

Memorial Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday morning at St. James Episcopal Church in Oskaloosa with Father Terry Kleven officiating. Cremation was accorded and her ashes will be interred in Forest Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Episcopal Relief Fund, and may be directed to to the funeral home.
Family will greet friends from 2 to 5 on Tuesday afternoon following the funeral service at the home of Patty Lamberson, 149 Highland Avenue, Oskaloosa Iowa.
