Audrey June Hart Jackson
Mrs. Audrey June Hart Jackson, age 79 of McDonough died March 8, 2008. She was born
in Pennsylvania and was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, and two brothers.
Survivors include her husband of 26 years, Lewis Jackson of McDonough; sister, Nancy Yarbrough of Stockbridge; brother and sister in law, Albert and Donna McCarney of Stock-bridge; numerous nieces and nephews.
Services were held March 11 at the Chapel of Haisten Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Mayfield officiating. Interment Sherwood Memorial Park. Contributions may be made to Cornerstone Baptist Church, 171 Collier Drive, Stockbridge, GA 30281 in memory of Mrs. Jackson. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangments.
Helen Wilkerson Cowart
Mrs. Helen Wilkerson Cowart, age 87, of McDonough, Georgia died February 9, 2008. In 1940 Helen married
Glynn Cowart of Blue Ridge, Georgia. Helen and Glynn lived and traveled and raised their sons in many parts of the United States before retiring to McDonough. Helen’s later years were not easy. She lost her sons to illness and accident, and nursed Glynn through blindness and decline. Her last three years were spent in an assisted living home in Decatur. Helen kept a brave and uplifting spirit, cheering those around her at Medlock Gardens Assisted Living by sharing snacks, jokes and time. Helen was preceded in death by her husband Glynn and her sons Glynn Jr. and Bill.
She is survived by her grandson Todd Cowart of Bartown Florida, her sisters Myrt Childs of Decatur and Becky Sadler of Salem, Virginia; many nieces and nephew. Services were held February 12 at Haisten Funeral Home. Helen requested that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the building fund of Bethany Baptist Church in McDonough. Joan Abercrombie
Joan Abercrombie, 72, of Carrboro, North Carolina, formerly of Ellenwood, died February 26. Mrs. Abercrombie was employed for 15 years at Henry Medical Center and for a short time at the Baptist Inn. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Abercrombie; parents, Clayborn Shepard and Dovie Marks Evans; twin sister, Jean Holmes; and brothers, Robert Evans, Johnny Evans, and Edward Evans.
Mrs. Abercrombie is survived by her son, David and Jan Abercrombie of Brunswick; daughters, Wanda Gonzalez of Greensboro, North Carolina and Faye Efird of Cary, North Carolina; grandchildren, Har-mony Smith of Duncan, South Carolina, Dustin Gonzalez of Worcester, Massachusetts, Ray-mon Gonzalez of Roebuck, South Carolina and Morgan Efird of Cary, North Carolina; great grandchildren, Eunice Smith and Randy Smith, both of Duncan, South Carolina; sisters, Mickie Hall of Lusby, Maryland, Sue Edwards, Louise Griffin, Rachel Taylor, Shirley Hodges, Elaine Durham, and Billie Horne all of Durham, North Carolina; step-granddaughters, Daphine Parker of Brunswick and Brandi Holland of McDonough; and step-great-grandchild, Madeline Parker of Brunswick.
Services were held February 29 with Pastor Cris Magness officiating. Interment Fairview Mem-orial Gardens.

Rodney Harold Brand, II
Rodney Harold Brand, II, age 23, of Stockbridge, Georgia died February 26, 2008.
Mr. Brand is survived by his parents, Rodney Harold Brand, I, Cynthia Elaine (Johnson) Brand of Stockbridge; brother and sister-in-law, Darian and Sandy Johnson of Jonesboro; grandmother, Hazel Johnson of Morrow; nieces, Lilian and Laycie Johnson.

Mollie A. Flournoy
Mollie A. Flournoy, age 48, of Jonesboro, Georgia died Feb-ruary 27, 2008. She was born
in Flint, Michigan.
Ms. Flournoy is survived by her daughter, Michelle Flournoy of Jonesboro; granddaughter, Kendra Flournoy of Jonesboro; mother, Alice Palmer of Jones-boro; father, Billy Joe Cle-venger of Barnesville; sister, Valerie (David) Hartness of Stockbridge; brother, Billy Joe (Deborah) Clevenger, III of Jonesboro; several nieces and nephews.

Mable Freeman Gardner
Mrs. Mable Freeman Gardner, age 86, of Locust Grove, Georgia died February 28, 2008. Mrs. Gardner was born
in Wilkes County, the daughter of the late Mary Tolbert Cox and Charles Taylor Freeman. Mrs. Gardner was a devoted homemaker who enjoyed her family, friends and driving her dog Daisy around. She also enjoyed her church, reading and traveling. Her husband, James Robert Gardner and several siblings preceded her in death.
Survivors are her children, Robert and Savi Gardner of Long Beach, California, Earl and Susan Gardner of Thousand Oaks, California and Neil and Bonnie Gardner of Locust Grove; sister, Doris Gaines of Lakeland, Florida; ten grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services for Mrs. Gardner were held March 4 at Locust Grove First Baptist Church with Rev. Kenny Heath officiating. Interment Locust Grove Cemetery. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Winton Williams, Jr.
Mr. Winton Williams Jr., age 74, of McDonough, Georgia died February 28, 2008. Mr. Williams was born
in Fulton County, the son of the late Dovy Lou Vincent and Winford Williams. He had retired after being in business for himself as a paint contractor. He enjoyed being with his family and friends, fishing and hunting. His wife, Emma D. Williams preceded him in death.
Survivors are his children, Frederick Blankenship of Hampton, Dorothy and Jerry Tucker of McDonough, Gary and Carol Williams of Forest Park, Lee and Karen Williams of McDonough, Patricia Crane of Ellenwood and Wanda Stigall of Sharpsburg; 13 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren; sister, Jeanette and Eldon Adams of Forest Park and several nieces and nephews.
