Miss Beverly Jean Coggins, age 63 of McDonough, Georgia died March 19, 2008. She was born
in Mississippi to the late Harold and Margaret Bowden Coggins. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Rebecca Lynn Rogers Griswold
Mrs. Rebecca Lynn Rogers Griswold, age 42, of Locust Grove, Georgia died March 20, 2008. Becky was born
in Rabun County. She worked as a real estate administrator. Becky was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend who enjoyed her family and friends, gardening, boating, and the mountains. Her father, Lemmie Rogers and sister, Teresa Rogers preceded her in death.
Survivors are her husband, Charles W. Griswold of Locust Grove, daughters, Brittney (Brandon) Brumfield of Stockbridge, Hannah and Danica Griswold of Locust Grove; granddaughter, Cadence E. Brumfield of Stockbridge; mother, Anita Miller of Winder; brothers, David, Johnny, Steve, Paul, Mark, Tim and Jeff Rogers; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and a cousin.
Services were held March 23 at Sawnee View Gardens in Cumming with Rev. Richard Wright officiating. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Martha Elizabeth Conkle Hammock
Martha Elizabeth Conkle Hammock, 93, of McDonough, Georgia, died March 21, 2008. Daughter of the late Andrew and Mary C. Willis Conkle. Mrs. Hammock owned a share of and worked in Conkle’s Five & Ten store from January 1929, until she assumed ownership of Hammock Hardware after her husband’s death. She retained ownership until the mid 1980’s and continued to be a vital part of the business, working well into her 80s. A loving and devoted mother, her life was filled with faithful service to her family. She was a long time member of Salem Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, T. E. (Bud) Hammock and sister, Jewell Wilkerson.
She is survived by her five children Martha Jo and Randy Carver, Tommy Hammock, Gary Hammock, Carey and Dianne Hammock, Jerry and Jane Hammock; her six grandchildren Mark and Traci Carver, Brian Carver, Melinda Carver and fiancé Matt Arvin, Jeff and Kristin Hammock, Jamey and Lisa Hammock, and Jennifer Hammock; and six great grandchildren Coby and Charlie Carver, Samuel and Benjamin Hammock, Chase and Cole Hammock, her sister-in-law, Mrs. Edna Hammock and niece, Sheila Wilkerson Binkney. Mrs. Hammock was blessed by many other loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Services were held March 24 at Salem Baptist Church with Rev. Dan McKay, Rev. Rick Statham, and Rev. Bobby Swafford officiating. Interment Eastlawn Memorial Gardens. Bill Chunn
Bill Chunn, age 74, of Hampton, Georgia died March 22, 2008. He was born
in, Meriwether County to the late William Lewis and Mary Emma Fowler Chunn. Mr. Chunn was a member of Stockbridge Assembly of God church.
Mr. Chunn is survived by his wife, Joyce Chunn; children, Vicki (Ron) McCall of Locust Grove, Gene (Janet) Chunn of Newnan and Christie (Jerry) Faulkner of Locust Grove; siblings, Ben Chunn of Valdosta, and Annett Tucciarone of Greenville; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Services were held March 25 at the Chapel of Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors with Rev. Jerry Stewart officiating. Interment Woodbury City Cemetery. Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.
Addison Marie Sylvester
Addison Marie Sylvester, infant daughter of Rick and Denise Sylvester of McDonough, Georgia died March 20, 2008.
Addison is survived by her parents, Rick and Denise; sisters, Whitney Manderson and Courtney Sylvester; grandparents, Janice and Guy Manderson, Evelyn Crawford and Gary Sylvester.
Services were held March 24 at Masters Cemetery. Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.
Lester Leroy Keller
Mr. Lester Leroy Keller, age 67 of Stockbridge died March 9, 2008. He was born
in Atlanta, Georgia to the late John Payton and Rachael Evelyn Simmermon Keller. He served his country in the United States Army and was a retired truck driver. He enjoyed NASCAR, Hot Rod cars, and shooting pool. He was preceded in death by a brother, John Keller.
Survivors include his daughter and son in law, Rhonda and John Underwood of McDonough; grandson, Joseph Underwood of McDonough; siblings, Edna Elliott of Conyers, June Buffington of Griffin, Hazel Jinks of McDonough, Joyce Sawyer of Hampton, and Jimmy Keller of Villa Rica; several nieces and nephews.
Services were held March 13, at the Chapel of Haisten Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Victory Junction Gang Camp, 4500 Adams Way, Randleman, North Carolina 27317 in memory of Mr. Keller. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Ruth Langdon Triplett McDaniel
Mrs. Ruth Langdon Triplett McDaniel, age 79, of Locust Grove, Georgia died March 10, 2008. Mrs. McDaniel was born
in Cabell County, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Dorothy May Davis and Earl Wesley Langdon. She was a member of Bible Baptist Church of Hampton. Mrs. McDaniel was a devoted homemaker who en-joyed her family, friends, grandchildren, reading, crossword puzzles, and TV game shows. Preceding her in death are husbands, Norwood Triplett and Frank McDaniel; sisters, Elizabeth Dail and Margaret Holshouser.
Survivors are her children, David (Dolores) Triplett of Griffin and Ricky (Cindy) Triplett of Locust Grove; granddaughters, Andrea Cobb of Griffin, Natalie Farmer of McDonough and Valerie Moore of Greenville, South Carolina; great grandchildren, Wesley Triplett, Aaron Farmer, and Kate Moore.
Services for Mrs. McDaniel were held March 13 at Bible Baptist Church with Rev. Brad Blanton officiating. Interment White Chapel Cemetery
in Huntington, West Virginia. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Charles B Newell, Sr.
Mr. Charles Bradford “Buddy” Newell, Sr., age 87 of McDonough, Georgia died March 10, 2007 at Emory University Hospital. He was born
in Pontotoc, Mississippi to the late Collis Reed and Bessie Delilah Russell Newell. He served his country in the United States Army during WWII and was retired from MMG Dimestores. Mr. Newell was a very active member of Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church and was a member of the Masonic lodge. He enjoyed fishing, music, and playing his guitar. He was preceded in death by his wife, Robbie Marie Montgomery Newell and by a grandson, Kenneth Bradford Newell.
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law, Brad and Arlene Newell of McDonough; daughter and son-in-law, Annette and Joe Oslizlo of Litchfield, New Hampshire; four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren; sister, Mary Alice Gustafson of Forest Park; brother and sister-in-law, David and Linda Newell of Tiger; beloved companion, Ruth L. Butler of McDonough; several nieces and nephews.
Services were held March 12 at Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church with Rev. Alex Stroud officiating. Interment church cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Mt.
