ALLENHURST -- Christine Cole, 38, died May 9 at home.

She was a native of Berlin and lived in Hinesville for five years. She was a Protestant.

SURVIVORS: her husband, Steven Cole of Allenhurst; a daughter, Nicole K. Cole of Allenhurst; a son, Florian Schubert of Allenhurst; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Egon M. Schubert of Berlin; two sisters, Marion Metze and Martina Meincke, both of Berlin; a brother, Frank Schubert, Hann-Muenden, Germany; and several nieces and nephews.

VISITATION: 6-8 p.m. Friday at Carter Funeral Home, Oglethorpe Chapel, Hinesville.

SERVICE: 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Victory Chapel at Fort Stewart.

Burial will be private.

Thomas O. Cupstid Sr.

Thomas O'Neal "Peggy" Cupstid Sr., 87, died May 10 at Care For All Ages.

He was born in Blaney, S.C., and moved to Savannah in 1919. He attended Savannah public schools and excelled in all sports. He attended Carlisle Military Academy on an athletic scholarship. He graduated from Carlisle Military Academy as salutatorian and was awarded the Ideal Cadet Medal.

He retired from the city of Savannah in 1977 as director of finance. He was an emeritus member of Landrum Lodge No. 48, F&AM, a member of the Georgia Hussars, 118th Field Artillery, Irish Jasper Greens, Lavida Golf Club, Kiwanis Club of Savannah, B.P.O. Elks and the Savannah Quarterback Club.

He was the widower of Marguerite Cupstid and Grayson Strobeck Cupstid.

SURVIVORS: two sons and a daughter-in-law, Thomas O'Neal Cupstid Jr. and JoAnn Cupstid and Craig Scott Cupstid, all of Savannah; a daughter, Rita Gail Meshaw of Jacksonville, Fla.; six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be private.

Mary B. DeLoach

Mrs. Mary B. DeLoach, 75, died May 10 at Memorial Health University Medical Center.

She was a native of Lerona, W.Va., and a longtime resident of Garden City. She was a former employee of Alexander Brothers.

SURVIVORS: a daughter, Drema Joiner of Guyton; two brothers, Allen Bragg of Baltimore and Lacy Bragg of Bowie, Md.; seven sisters, Barbara Burch of Millville, N.J., Lois Ahl of Bridgeton, N.J., Betty Copley of Millville, N.J., Ruby Ford, Virginia Wimmer and Loretta Mooney, all of Princeton, W.Va., and Carol Wiley of Blacksburg, Va.; her companion, Lee B. Spearman of Garden City; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

VISITATION: 6-9 p.m. today at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Massey Chapel, Garden City.

GRAVESIDE SERVICE: 2 p.m. Friday in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens Mausoleum.

Carlo DiBartolomeo

HILTON HEAD ISLAND -- Carlo DiBartolomeo, 92, died May 10 at home.

He was born in Italy and moved to Hilton Head Island in May 1999. He had the position of Carabiniere in the Italian Police Force.

SURVIVORS: his wife, Maria Giovanna Mulas DiBartolomeo of Hilton Head Island; two sons, Claudio DiBartolomeo of Hilton Head Island and Guido DiBartolomeo of Germantown, Md.; a daughter, Annalia Bolyard of Morgantown, W.Va.; a sister, Justine DiBartolomeo of Weirton, W.Va.; and three grandchildren, Joanna, Carla and Ginia Lia.

ROSARY SERVICE: 10 a.m. Friday at St. Francis Catholic Church.

MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL: 10:15 a.m. Friday at St. Francis Catholic Church.

Interment will be in St. Francis Columbarium.

Nellie K. Gnann

SPRINGFIELD -- Nellie King Gnann, 84, died May 10 at home under the care of Hospice.

She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, the Adult Sunday School Class, the Janie Bowers Circle of W.E.L.C.A., and the Springfield Garden Club.

SURVIVORS: her husband, A. Otto Gnann Sr. of Springfield; a daughter and son-in-law, Gloria G. and Weyman Cochran of Danielsville; a son and daughter-in-law, Albert O. Jr. and Betty Eitel Gnann of Savannah; a granddaughter, three great-grandsons and several nieces and nephews.

VISITATION: 6-8 p.m. today at Thomas C. Strickland & Sons Funeral Home, Effingham Chapel.

FUNERAL: 11 a.m. Friday at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, burial in Stillwell Cemetery.

Inez F. Gray

LYONS -- Mrs. Inez Fowler Gray, 68, died May 9 at home.

She was a native of Montgomery County, a member of Evergreen Baptist Church and a seamstress with Toombs Mfg. Co.

SURVIVORS: her husband, the Rev. Charles Gray of Lyons; sons, Wayne McCarty of Williamson and Bobby J. McCarty of Shreveport, La.; a stepdaughter, Brenda Findley of Rex; a stepson, Ernest Gray of Atlanta; sisters, Johnnie Smith, Frances Findley, Jean Tapley and Thenila Kight, all of Lyons; a brother, William Fowler of Baxley; 14 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

FUNERAL: 2 p.m. today at Evergreen Baptist Church, burial in Lyons City Cemetery.

Millard L. Holland

HAGAN -- Millard Lee Holland, 81, died May 9 at Evans Memorial Hospital.

He was born in Tattnall County, but lived in Evans County most of his life. He retired from Evans Concrete and was a fisherman and a Baptist. He was the widower of Daisy Lee Holland.

SURVIVORS: two daughters and son-in-laws, Illene and Johnny Brown of Hagan and Brenda and Robert Floyd of Eulonia; a sister and brother-in-law, Ollie and Joe Todd of Altoona, Fla.; three grandchildren, Brandy Ussery of Hagan, Lisa Young of Metter and Ricky Martin of Hagan; a great-granddaughter, Haleigh Young of Metter; several stepgrandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

FUNERAL: 11 a.m. today at NeSmith Funeral Home, burial in Brewton Cemetery.

James A. Hughes

GLENNVILLE -- James Auvin Hughes, 59, died May 9 at his home in Glennville under Hospice Savannah care.

He was a native of Montgomery, Ala., and lived in New Orleans for many years before moving to Glennville about a year ago. He was a Navy veteran, a carpenter and a Baptist.

SURVIVORS: two sons, James A. Hughes Jr. and Mark R. Hughes, both of New Orleans; his father, Auvin J. Hughes of Glennville; two brothers, Robert W. Hughes of Glennville and Ronald R. Hughes of Tuscaloosa, Ala.; a grandson and several nieces and nephews.

VISITATION: 6-8 p.m. today at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home in New Orleans.

FUNERAL: Friday at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home in New Orleans, burial in Woodlawn Memorial Park cemetery in New Orleans.

Sallie Mae Lashley

NEW YORK -- Mrs. Sallie Mae Lashley, 87, died May 7 at New York City Hospital.

She was born in Hardeeville, Levy community, lived in Savannah for a few years and in New York most of her life. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.

SURVIVORS: her husband, Charles Lashley of New York City; a son, Alfred Lashley of New York City; a goddaughter, Sallie Mae Ford of Hardeeville; a nephew, Henry Johnson of Hardeeville; and two grandchildren.

FUNERAL: 11 a.m. Saturday at Lewis Pentecostal Church, burial in Cooper Cemetery.

Mary Frances Myles

EAST PALATKA, Fla. -- Mrs. Mary Frances Myles, 59, of East Palatka, died May 6 at Putnam Community Medical Center.

She was a member of To God Be The Glory Holiness Church.

SURVIVORS: 10 sons, Albert Sr., Woodrow Sr., Hezekiah Sr. and Hector Myles, all of East Palatka, Edward Jr., Henry, David Sr., John W. and Benjamin Sr., all of Palatka, and Willie Louis Myles Sr. of Bostwick; two daughters, Aretha Foster of Palatka and Thura L. Smith of East Palatka; her stepmother, Lula Mae Peoples of Palatka; seven sisters, four brothers, nine stepsisters and stepbrothers, 48 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

FUNERAL: 7 p.m. Friday at To God Be The Glory Holiness Church in Palatka.

BURIAL: 9 a.m. Saturday in Goodhope Baptist Church cemetery in Estill, S.C.
