Eunice Breedlove Scott, 85
SWAINSBORO--Graveside service for Eunice Breedlove Scott, 85, will be held Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2005 at 2 p.m. at Swainsboro City cemetery with Rev. William H. Thompson officiating. She died Sunday, Sept. 25, 2005, at Lynn Haven Nursing Home in Gray after an extended illness.
Mrs. Scott was a native of Jenkins County and a homemaker. She was a member of Lake Luck Civic Club and was preceded in death by her husband, Ray M. Scott, Sr. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Swainsboro.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Ray M. “Sonny” Scott, Jr. and Lynn of Gray; four grandsons, Ray M Scott, III of Sylacauga, Ala.; Michael Allen Scott of Mussela; William F. Scott of Macon; and Andrew C. Scott of Gainesville; and seven great-grandchildren

Charlie Wayne Scott, 63
SWAINSBORO--Memorial service for Charlie Wayne Scott, 63, was held Saturday, Sept. 10, 2005 at 2 p.m. at Bethel United Methodist Church with Rev. William H. Thompson officiating. He died Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2005.
Mr. Scott was born on April 28, 1942 and has been a lifelong resident of Emanuel County. He was a machinist and a member of Dellwood Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Linda McKuhen Scott of Swainsboro; a son, Patrick Scott of Statesboro; four brothers, Elmer Scott and John Scott of Jacksonville, Fla.; and Billy Scott and Ennis Scott of Swainsboro; and three sisters, Connie Cholar of Wrens; Carol Sue Davison of Lizella; and Mary Alice Greenway of Kite.

Robert Floyce Williams, 42
STATESBORO--Funeral for Robert Floyce Williams, 42, was held Thursday, Sept. 22, 2005 at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home with Elder Jack Anderson officiating and Dr. Darren Thomas assisting. Burial was in Lower Lotts Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. He died Monday, Sept. 19, 2005 at East Georgia Regional Medical Center after a brief illness.
Mr. Williams was a Bulloch County native and a 1981 graduate of Bulloch Academy; and a 1985 graduate of Georgia Southern University with a degree in agricultural economics. He was a member of Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. He was employed with ASCS for many years and served in offices located in Swainsboro, Sylvania, Gibson and Sparta. He served as county executive director of Farm Service Agency of the United States Department of Agriculture in Statesboro for the past three years. He was a member of Georgia Association of County Employees and was a mentor for a child at Joseph Home for Boys. He was a member of Lower Lotts Creek Primitive Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Jill Zittrouer Williams of Register; two children, Garrett Lanier Williams and Allie Grace Williams of Register; his parents, Robert Floyce Williams Sr. and Rebecca Lanier Williams of Statesboro; and a brother, Christopher Lanier Williams of Statesboro.
Pallbearers were Tommy Sisson, David Averitt, Bill T. Akers, Jim Mock, Jamie Nevil and Stevie Rushing.

Rixie Hodges Neville, 75
STATESBORO--Graveside service for Rixie Hodges Neville, 75, will be held will be held Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2005 at 3 p.m. at Mt. Zion Primitive Baptist Church cemetery in Norristown. She died Monday, Sept. 26, 2005 at East Georgia Regional Medical Center under the care of Ogeechee Area Hospice.
Mrs. Neville was a native of Emanuel County but had lived in Statesboro since 1962. She owned and operated Ideal Cleaners before her retirement. She was preceded in death by her parents, W.V. and Flora Mae Horton, her brother, H.V. Horton, and her husbands, Landrum Hodges, Sr. and William G. Neville, Jr.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Landrum and Pam Hodges of Statesboro; three granddaughters, Stephanie Hodges Kennedy of St. Simons Island, Smith Hodges and Sydney Hodges, both of Statesboro; and several nieces and nephews.

Moses Archie Sr., 80
SWAINSBORO--Funeral for Moses Archie Sr., 80, will be held Thursday, Sept. 29, 2005 at Trinity Baptist Church in Swainsboro with Pastor Charles Wiggins Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Swainsboro City Cemetery. He died Sunday, Sept. 25, 2005 at his home after an extended illness.
Mr. Archie was a native of Jefferson County where he attended public schools. He lived most of his adult life in Swainsboro where he was a deacon in Trinity Baptist Church and was self-employed as a carpenter. Survivors include his wife, Leona Williams Archie of Swainsboro; nine children, Betty Jean Sutton of Lexsy; Maola Edward, Roma Merrion, Moses Archie Jr., George Archie, Jimmie Archie, Alexander Archie and Patrick Archie, all of Swainsboro; and Mitchell Archie of Statesboro; two sisters, Mary Gilmore of Swainsboro; and Rosie Rolon of Vineland, N.J.; a brother, Willie Joe Archie of Metter; 39 grandchildren, 29 greatgrandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Dr. William McNair Sr., 77
SOPERTON--Funeral for Dr. William Palmer McNair Sr., 77, was held Monday, Sept. 26, 2005 at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Sammons Funeral Home in Soperton with Rev. Paul Brown officiating. Burial was in Westview cemetery in Soperton. He died Thursday, Sept. 22, 2005 at his home.
Dr. McNair was born to the late Clara Dye McNair and James Elisha McNair of Jefferson County on Jan. 1, 1928. He was married
to Sue Reed Metcalf for 20 years. In 1957, Dr. McNair established a general practice of medicine and surgery in Soperton. He had also saw patients from Adrian and Emanuel County. He was preceded in death by a sister, Helen Georgeson; and three brothers, Tom McNair, Rufus McNair and Judson McNair.
Survivors include three sons, William P. “BoBo” McNair Jr. of China Spring, Texas; James “Jimmy” McNair of Soperton; and John Michael “Mike” McNair of West Palm Beach, Fla.; three sisters, Letisha Peel and Nell Arrington of Augusta; and Ann Sheffield of DeLand, Fla.; two brothers, George Ray McNair of Madison; and Lewis McNair of Huntsville, Ala.; and seven grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Bobby Joe Moxley, Joe Moxley, Melvin Phillips, Steve Hodgins, Patez Strickland, Robert Peel, Richard Dennard and Jim McNair.

Ira Von Thigpen, 86
DUBLIN--Funeral for Ira Von “Buddy” Thigpen, 86, will be held Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2005 at 11 a.m. Chan Stanley Memorial Chapel of Stanley Funeral Home with Rev. J.L. Adams, B.J. Powell and Randy Martin officiating. Burial will be in Westview Cemetery. He died Sunday, Sept. 25, 2005 at Georgia War Veterans Home in Milledgeville after an extended illness.
Mr. Thigpen was born in Treutlen County on Sept. 28, 1918. He was the son of the late Ira Von and Edith Hall Thigpen. He was retired from Carl Vinson VA Medical Center as a nursing assistant. He also served in the United States Army during World War II in the European Theater. He was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nina Mae Scarborough Thigpen. He was formerly of Dublin and Swainsboro.
Survivors include his caretakers, Beth and B.J. Powell of Dublin; two brothers, Oswald Thigpen of Swainsboro; and Pat Thigpen of Cleveland, Tenn.; three sisters, Evelyn Jennings of Muskegon, Mich.; Geraldine Martin of Louisville; and Yuvawn Tapley of Swainsboro.
Pallbearers will be Shawn Henderson, Casey Tapley, Johnny Tapley, Michael Thigpen, Steve Dukes and Richard Upshaw.

SWAINSBORO--Graveside service for Aaron Rudolph Patton will be held Wednesday, Sept. 28, at 4 p.m. in Lamb Cemetery. He died Saturday, Sept. 24, 2005, at the Emanuel Medical Center.
Aaron was the infant son of Kristoffer and Kasie Peebles Patton of Swainsboro

Ruby G. Phillips-Hilbert, 61
SOPERTON--Funeral for Ruby George PhillipsHilbert , 61, was held Saturday, Oct. 8, 2005 at 1 p.m. at Phillips Chapel Baptist Church in Soperton with Rev. Alvin Mason officiating, Burial was in Boiling Spring Cemetery. She died Sept. 30, 2005 after an extended illness.
Mrs. Phillips-Hilbert was born on Sept. 27, 1943 in Treutlen County to George and Mary Phillips. She was educated in the Treutlen County School System.
Survivors include five stepchildren, George Hilbert of Vidalia; Daniel Hilbert of Orlando Fla.; and David Hilbert, Eva Julia Hilbert and Lilian Monroe of Miami, Fla.; five brothers, L.C. Phillips of Nunez; Major Phillips of Adrian; Cleveland Phillips Sr. and Meadie Phillips of Swainsboro; and Ozell Phillips of Oak Park.

Cecil D. Bowden, 79
TWIN CITY--Funeral for Cecil D. Bowden, 79, was held Saturday, Oct. 22, 2005 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Peebles-CurryDurden Mortuary with Rev. Wayne MacDonald and Elder Tommy Rountree officiating. Burial was in Old Canoochee Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. He died Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2005, at Ogeechee Hospice in Statesboro.
Mr. Bowden was born in Tarpon Springs, Fla. and was a World War II Navy veteran. He retired after 59 years of service as General Manager of GA Central Railway. He was a member of Twin City Methodist Church and was an avid gardener.
Survivors include his wife, Rosemary Kingery Bowden of Twin City; three daughters and sonsin law, Mildred Lawayne and Willard Sadler and Julia Ann and Bobby Calhoun all of Perry, Fla.,: and Amy Moore and Wayne Cody of Kingsport, Tenn.; five sons and daughtersin law, Jim and Betty Bowden of Brooksville, Fla.; Benjamin and Kim Bowden of Swainsboro; Grady C. and Donna Moore, Donald K. and Karen Moore and John C. Robert Lee Washington, 57
SWAINSBORO--Funeral for Robert Lee Washington, 57, will be held Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2005 at 3:30 p.m. at St. Philip Baptist Church with Rev. Cecil Dunlap officiating and Rev. James Love and Rev. Bennie Brinson assisting. Burial will be held in Swainsboro City Cemetery.
Mr. Washington was a native of Emanuel County where he attended public schools. He was a member of Gethsemane Baptist Church in Lexsy for many years. He served in the U.S. Armed Forces with three tours in South Vietnam, and was awarded the Combat Infantry Badge along with other awards. He furthered his education at Okefenokee Technical Institute and was owner and operator of K&R; Home Repair and Interior Designs.
Survivors include his wife, Minnie Harris Washington of Swainsboro; three daughters, Olympia Allen of Swainsboro; Turkeesha Williams of Augusta; and Irsha Jamia Washington of Valdosta; two sons, Anthony Lloyd of Swainsboro; and Robert Washington Jr. of Ft. Bragg, N.C.; two brothers, Lewis Oglesby of Miami, Fla.; and Paul Weaver of Swainsboro; a sister, Jennie Phillips of Swainsboro; and 11 grandchildren.

Ary Beatrice Key, 91
ADRIAN--Funeral for Ary Beatrice Key, 91, was held Sunday, Oct. 23, 2005 at 3 p.m. with Dr. Jack Key and Rev. Allen Cason officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. She died Friday, Oct. 21, 2005.
Mrs. Key was born and raised in Emanuel County and had lived in Jacksonville, Fla. before returning to Adrian 30 years ago. She was the daughter of the late Nelson and Mattie Flanders Kea and was married
to the late Ollie Key. She was a retired florist and sales representative for Avon and was a member of Kea’s United Methodist Church in Adrian.
Survivors include four sisters, Ruth Foskey and Katherine Thompson of Adrian; June Reagan and LaVerne Callan of Jacksonville, Fla.; and two brothers, Grahl Kea of Dublin’ and Rev. Robert Kea of Soperton.
Pallbearers were Elliott Barwick, Ronnie Kea, Buddy Bloodworth, Bill Morell, John Reagan and John Webb.

Clifford Brinson, 78
SWAINSBORO--Memorial service for Clifford Brinson, 78, will be held Saturday, Oct. 29, 2005 at 3 p.m. at Swainsboro Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses with Frank Weigl officiating. He died Saturday, Oct. 22, 2005 at his residence.
Mr. Brinson was a native of Treutlen County and had lived here for many years, He worked as a saw filer at Swainsboro Saw Works and served in the United States Navy as well as the Army. He was a member of Swainsboro Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Survivors include his wife, Jeanette R. Brinson of Swainsboro; sons and daughters-in-law, Andy Brinson and Debra of Dunn, N.C.; Clifford M. Brinson and Deborah of Tignall; daughter-in-law, Mable Lanier; daughters and sons-in-law, Janie K. Smith and M. Danny Smith of Soperton; and Sara M.
