Earl Victor Edwards
Mr. Earl Victor Edwards, age 89 of McDonough, Georgia died April 5, 2008. He was born
in Alabama to the late William and Emma Ella Idella Barnett Edwards. He served his country in the United States Navy during WWII; was retired after 20 years with the American Can Company and enjoyed his fishing trips. He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include his wife of almost 63 years, Louise Cater Edwards of McDonough; sons, Richard (Nina) Edwards of McDonough, David (Sheila) Edwards of Tallahassee, Florida, Greg (Pamela) Edwards of Senoia; seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Services were held April 7 at Sherwood Memorial Park in Jonesboro with Chaplain Don Dailey officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Sacred Journey Hospice, 138 Peach Drive, McDonough, Georgia 30253 in memory of Mr. Edwards. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Marjorie H. Fox
Marjorie H. Fox, age 88, of Carrollton, Georgia died March 23, 2008. She was born
in New York, New York to the late Albert and Paula Struve Hopkins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus Wade Fox.
Mrs. Fox is survived by her son, Christopher Fox, and granddaughter, Amber Fox, both of McDonough.

Hazel Mitchell Bowman
Hazel Mitchell Bowman, age 80, of McDonough, Georgia died March 30, 2008. She was born
in Newhall, West Virginia to the late John A. and Nettie Elsie Baldwin Mitchell. Ms. Bowman was a member of True Christian Fellowship in McDonough and was very devoted to her church, her family, and friends.
Ms. Bowman is survived by her daughter, Sue DeBord of McDonough; sons, Lloyd W. Bowman of North Tazewell, Virginia; Alvin F. Bowman of Monticello; three grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
Services will be held April 3 at El Bethel House of God in Cedar Bluff, Virginia with Pastor Sammy Barnett and Pastor Robert Denson Sr. officiating. Interment Grandview Memorial Gardens in Bluefield, Virginia. Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.
Douglas Lee Hamby. Sr.
Mr. Douglas Lee Hamby Sr., age 74, of McDonough, Georgia died March 13, 2008. Mr. Hamby was born
in DeKalb County, the son of the late Lillie Mae Lee and Leon Doris Hamby. He retired from Delta Air Lines as an aircraft mechanic and he served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps for 13 plus years. Mr. Hamby was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was a University of Georgia Bulldog fan and enjoyed playing golf. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Christopher Hamby.
Survivors are his wife, Mary Hamby of McDonough; children, Douglas Lee Hamby, Jr., William Neal Hamby, John Bradford Hamby, Ann Laurie Palka; step children, Andre Rene Champagne, Christopher Aime Champagne, and Noel Hector Champagne; sisters, Kathy Frost and Judy Turner; brother, Robert Hamby; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Services were held at his residence. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may make donations to the American Lung Association of Georgia for research. Haisten Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Ginnie Booth
Ginnie Booth, age 57, of McDonough, Georgia died March 16, 2008. She was born
in Mobile, Alabama to the late Harry and Ann Laurie Dozier Shirah. She loved art, history (biblical history was her favorite) and of course, coffee. She also loved her labradoodle dog, Winter.
Ms. Booth is survived by her sons, Jackson (Stacy) Booth of McDonough and Jeff (Meg) Booth of Valdosta; grandchildren, Noah, Lindsey, Camryn, Hanna, and Nathan; brothers, Dan (Freda) Shirah of Birmingham, Skip (Maureen) Shirah and Mike Shirah, both of Mobile, Alabama.
Services were held March 21 at Turning Point Church with Pastor Michael Turner officiating. Cannon Cleveland Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.
Harold Don Gilliam, Sr.
Mr. Harold Don Gilliam Sr., age 73, of McDonough, Georgia died March 17, 2008. Mr. Gilliam was born
in Cordele, the son of the late Nellie Boalch and R.D. Gilliam. He served his country in the US Navy. Mr. Gilliam was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed his family and friends. He was a hard working individual who was self employed in construction most of his working career. Mr. Gilliam enjoyed dancing, cars, fishing, riding the countryside, and sharing jokes. He was preceded in death by a son, Michael Shane Gilliam.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Gilliam of McDonough; children, Vickie Gilliam of Hampton, Donna Gilliam of McDonough, and Harold (Allyson) Gilliam, Jr. , Kim (Todd) Steele and Todd Gilliam, all of McDonough; ten grandchildren, four great grandchildren; brothers, R. J. Gilliam of Lithia Springs, Bobby Gilliam of Centerville, and Ray Gilliam of Roberta; sisters, Doris Bellamy of Beach Island, South Carolina and Linda Weldon of Cordele.

Lois Jackson
Lois Jackson, age 78, of McDonough, Georgia died March 18, 2008. She was born
in Coffee County to the late Freeman and Ethel Wilcox Taylor. She was a devoted wife of 63 years and a loving mother and grandmother. Mrs. Jackson was also preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia Ann Free-man; grandson, Leonard Edward Todd; sister, Inez Taylor; and brother, Felton Taylor.
Mrs. Jackson is survived by her husband, Ed Jackson; daughters, Elaine (Billy) Hobby, Betty Lois (Vernon) Waters, all of McDonough; grandchildren, Joel Hobby, Kristi Seagraves, Curtis Waters, Brian Waters; seven great grandchildren; siblings, Willie Mae Hutto and Ruby Thompson, both of McDonough, Bernice Smith of Baxley, Paul Taylor of Ludowici, Velma Miness of Hinesville and Sarah Mosley of Ludowici.
